Abstract:We discuss certain homological properties of graded algebras whose trivial modules admit nonpure resolutions. Such algebras include both of Artin-Schelter regular algebras of types (12221) and (13431). Under certain conditions, a module with nonpure resolution is decomposed to form an extension by two modules with pure resolutions.

Abstract:Inspired by the commutator and anticommutator algebras derived from algebras graded by groups, we introduce noncommutatively graded algebras. We generalize various classical graded results to the noncommutatively graded situation concerning identity elements, inverses, existence of limits and colimits and adjointness of certain functors. In the particular instance of noncommutatively graded Lie algebras, we establish the existence of universal graded enveloping algebras and we show a graded version of the Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem.

Abstract:In this work, we propose to study noncommutative geometry using the language of categories of sheaves of algebras with polynomial identities and their properties, introducing new (graded) noncommutative geometries, which include, for example, the following algebras: superalgebras, $\mathbb{Z}_2^n$-graded superalgebras, Azumaya algebras, Clifford and quaternion algebras, the algebra of upper triangular matrices, quantum groups at roots of unity, and also some NC-schemes. More precisely, fix a group $G$, a $G$-graded associative algebra $A$ over a field $F$ of characteristic 0 and a topological space $X$; we construct a locally $G$-graded ringed space structure on $X$, where the sheaf structure belongs to the $G$-graded variety $\text{G-var}(A)$ of algebras generated by $A$, which classify all geometric spaces that belong to $\text{G-var}(A)$. We study conditions to compare two geometries in a (graded) Morita context, as well as their corresponding differential calculi.

Abstract:In this paper we study of the structure of non-commutative Poisson algebras with an arbitrary set $ß.$ We show that any of such an algebra $\pp$ decomposes as $$\pp=\uu\oplus\sum_{[\lambda]\in(\Lambda_ß\setminus\{0\})/\sim}\pp_{[\lambda]},$$ where $\uu$ is a linear subspace complement of $\span_{\bbbf}\{ [\pp_{\mu}, \pp_{\eta}]+\pp_{\mu}\pp_{\eta} : \mu, \eta\in[\lam]\}\cap\pp_0$ in $\pp_0$ and any $\pp_{[\lambda]}$ a well-described graded ideals of $\pp,$ satisfying $[\pp_{[\lambda]}, \pp_{[\mu]}]+\pp_{[\lambda]} \pp_{[\mu]}=0$ if $[\lambda]\neq[\mu].$ Under certain conditions, the simplicity of $\pp$ is characterized and it is shown that $\pp$ is the direct sum of the family of its graded simple ideals.

Abstract:In this article we first compare the set of elements in the socle of an ideal of a polynomial algebra over a field K that are not in the ideal itself with Macaulay's inverse systems of such polynomial algebras in a purely combinatorial way for monomial ideals, and then develop some closure operational properties for the related poset . We then derive some algebraic propositions of -graded rings (a natural generalization of the usual -grading where is a monoid) that then have some combinatorial consequences. Interestingly, some of the results from this part that uniformly hold for polynomial rings are always false when the ring is local. We finally delve into some direct computations, in relation to a given term order of the monomials, for general zero-dimensional Gorenstein ideals, and we deduce a few explicit observations and results for the inverse systems from some recent results about socles.

Positivity and nonstandard graded Betti numbers

Abstract:A foundational principle in the study of modules over standard graded polynomial rings is that geometric positivity conditions imply vanishing of Betti numbers. The main goal of this paper is to determine the extent to which this principle extends to the nonstandard graded case. In this setting, the classical arguments break down, and the results become much more nuanced. We introduce a new notion of Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity and employ exterior algebra techniques to control the shapes of nonstandard graded minimal free resolutions. Our main result reveals a unique feature in the nonstandard graded case: the possible degrees of the syzygies of a graded module in this setting are controlled not only by its regularity, but also by its depth. As an application of our main result, we show that, given a simplicial projective toric variety and a module M over its coordinate ring, the multigraded Betti numbers of M are contained in a particular polytope when M satisfies an appropriate positivity condition.

Abstract:Abstract This paper is devoted to the study of multigraded algebras and multigraded linear series. For an ‐graded algebra , we define and study its volume function , which computes the asymptotics of the Hilbert function of . We relate the volume function to the volume of the fibers of the global Newton–Okounkov body of . Unlike the classical case of standard multigraded algebras, the volume function is not a polynomial in general. However, in the case when the algebra has a decomposable grading, we show that the volume function is a polynomial with nonnegative coefficients. We then define mixed multiplicities in this case and provide a full characterization for their positivity. Furthermore, we apply our results on multigraded algebras to multigraded linear series. Our work recovers and unifies recent developments on mixed multiplicities. In particular, we recover results on the existence of mixed multiplicities for (not necessarily Noetherian) graded families of ideals and on the positivity of the multidegrees of multiprojective varieties.

On $\mathbb{N}$-graded vertex algebras associated with Gorenstein algebras

Abstract:This paper investigates the algebraic structure of indecomposable $\mathbb{N}$-graded vertex algebras $V = \bigoplus_{n=0}^{\infty} V_n$, emphasizing the intricate interactions between the commutative associative algebra $V_0$, the Leibniz algebra $V_1$ and how non-degenerate bilinear forms on $V_0$ influence their overall structure. We establish foundational properties for indecomposability and locality in $\mathbb{N}$-graded vertex algebras, with our main result demonstrating the equivalence of locality, indecomposability, and specific structural conditions on semiconformal-vertex algebras. The study of symmetric invariant bilinear forms of semiconformal-vertex algebra is investigated. We also examine the structural characteristics of $V_0$ and $V_1$, demonstrating conditions under which certain $\mathbb{N}$-graded vertex algebras cannot be quasi vertex operator algebras, semiconformal-vertex algebras, or vertex operator algebras, and explore $\mathbb{N}$-graded vertex algebras $V=\bigoplus_{n=0}^{\infty}V_n$ associated with Gorenstein algebras. Our analysis includes examining the socle, Poincaré duality properties, and invariant bilinear forms of $V_0$ and their influence on $V_1$, providing conditions for embedding rank-one Heisenberg vertex operator algebras within $V$. Supporting examples and detailed theoretical insights further illustrate these algebraic structures.

Abstract:Our present work is motivated by several papers which have introduced and studied the notion of nonnil-Noetherian rings. Let A = ⊕ α ∈ G A α be a commutative ring with unity graded by an arbitrary commutative monoid G . We define A to be graded-nonnil-Noetherian ring if every nonnil graded ideal of A , that is, a graded ideal which is not contained in Nil(A), is finitely generated. The purpose of this paper is to give the graded version of several characterizations, properties and basic results proved in [3], [7] and [4]. We also show the non-triviality of our generalization by giving examples of graded-nonnil-Noetherian rings which are not nonnil-Noetherian and of graded-nonnil-Noetherian rings which are not graded-Noetherian.

On naturally graded Lie and Leibniz superalgebras

Abstract:In general, the study of gradations has always represented a cornerstone in algebra theory. In particular, \textit{naturally graded} seems to be the first and the most relevant gradation when it comes to nilpotent algebras, a large class of solvable ones. In fact, many families of relevant solvable algebras have been obtained by extensions of naturally graded nilpotent algebras, i.e. solvable algebras with a well-structured nilradical. Thus, the aim of this work is introducing the concept of naturally graded for superalgebra structures such as Lie and (non-Lie) Leibniz. After having defined naturally graded Lie and Leibniz superalgebras, we characterize natural gradations on a very important class of each of them, that is, those with maximal super-nilindex.

Abstract:We consider the problem of classifying gradings by groups on a finite-dimensional algebra $A$ (with any number of multilinear operations) over an algebraically closed field. We introduce a class of gradings, which we call almost fine, such that every $G$-grading on $A$ is obtained from an almost fine grading on $A$ in an essentially unique way, which is not the case with fine gradings. For abelian groups, we give a method of obtaining all almost fine gradings if fine gradings are known. We apply these ideas to the case of semisimple Lie algebras in characteristic $0$: to any abelian group grading with nonzero identity component, we attach a (possibly nonreduced) root system and, in the simple case, construct an adapted grading by this root system.

Abstract:Koszul algebras have arisen in many contexts; algebraic geometry, combinatorics, Lie algebras, non-commutative geometry and topology. The aim of this paper and several sequel papers is to show that for any finite dimensional algebra there is always a naturally associated Koszul theory. To obtain this, the notions of Koszul algebras, linear modules and Koszul duality are extended to additive (graded) categories over a field. The main focus of this paper is to provide these generalizations and the necessary preliminaries.

On the structure of graded Poisson color algebras

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the class of graded Poisson color algebras as the natural generalization of graded Poisson algebras and graded Poisson superalgebras. For $\Lambda$ an arbitrary abelian group, we show that any of such $\Lambda$-graed Poisson color algebra $\mathcal{P}$, with a symmetric $\Lambda$-support is of the form $\mathcal{P} = \mathcal{U}\oplus\sum_j I_j$, with $\mathcal{U}$ a subspace of $\mathcal{P}_1$ and any $I_j$ a well described graded ideal of $\mathcal{P},$ satisfying $\{I_j, I_k\}+I_j I_k=0$ if $j\neq i.$ Furthermore, under certain conditions, the gr-simplicity of $\mathcal{P}$ is characterized and it is shown that $\mathcal{P}$ is the direct sum of the family of its graded simple ideals.

Bergman algebras: The graded universal algebra constructions

Abstract:A half a century ago, George Bergman introduced stunning machinery which would realise any commutative conical monoid as the non-stable $K$-theory of a ring. The ring constructed is ``minimal" or ``universal". Given the success of graded $K$-theory in classification of algebras and its connections to dynamics and operator algebras, the realisation of $\Gamma$-monoids (monoids with an action of an abelian group $\Gamma$ on them) as non-stable graded $K$-theory of graded rings becomes vital. In this paper, we revisit Bergman's work and develop the graded version of this universal construction. For an abelian group $\Gamma$, a $\Gamma$-graded ring $R$, and non-zero graded finitely generated projective (left) $R$-modules $P$ and $Q$, we construct a universal $\Gamma$-graded ring extension $S$ such that $S\otimes_R P\cong S\otimes_R Q$ as graded $S$-modules. This makes it possible to bring the graded techniques, such as smash products and Zhang twists into Bergman's machinery. Given a commutative conical $\Gamma$-monoid $M$, we construct a $\Gamma$-graded ring $S$ such that $\mathcal V^{gr}(S)$ is $\Gamma$-isomorphic to $M$. In fact we show that any finitely generated $\Gamma$-monoid can be realised as the non-stable graded $K$-theory of a hyper Leavitt path algebra. Here $\mathcal V^{gr}(S)$ is the monoid of isomorphism classes of graded finitely generated projective $S$-modules and the action of $\Gamma$ on $\mathcal V^{gr}(S)$ is by shift of degrees. Thus the group completion of $M$ can be realised as the graded Grothendieck group $K^{\gr}_0(S)$. We use this machinery to provide a short proof to the fullness of the graded Grothendieck functor $K^{gr}_0$ for the class of Leavitt path algebras (i.e., Graded Classification Conjecture II).

Abstract:We study the structure of graded Lie superalgebras with arbitrary dimension and over an arbitrary field ${\mathbb K}$. We show that any of such algebras ${\mathfrak L}$ with a symmetric $G$-support is of the form ${\mathfrak L} = U + \sum\limits_{j}I_{j}$ with $U$ a subspace of ${\mathfrak L}_1$ and any $I_{j}$ a well described graded ideal of ${\mathfrak L}$, satisfying $[I_j,I_k] = 0$ if $j\neq k$. Under certain conditions, it is shown that ${\mathfrak L} = (\bigoplus\limits_{k \in K} I_k) \oplus (\bigoplus\limits_{q \in Q} I_q),$ where any $I_k$ is a gr-simple graded ideal of ${\mathfrak L}$ and any $I_q$ a completely determined low dimensional non gr-simple graded ideal of ${\mathfrak L}$, satisfying $[I_q,I_{q'}] = 0$ for any $q'\in Q$ with $q \neq q'$.
