Abstract:A pythagorean fuzzy set is a generalized fuzzy structure that copes with imprecisions of real life accurately and with a larger domain. The aim of this manuscript is to develop the notion of graph for newly established concept of interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy set. We introduced the concept of interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy graph (IVPyFG) and discussed its related ideas with the help of examples. The significance of using interval-valued fuzzy concepts over non-interval-valued fuzzy concepts are demonstrated numerically. Further, the advantages of using the new approach over the pre-existing ideas are demonstrated with the help of numerical examples. The main goal of this article is to study three types of decision-making problems using the framework of IVPyFGs. These three problems include the problem of selection of the best university in a network of universities, a supply chain management problem and the shortest path problem. The comparison of the new approach toward these problems with existing approaches is also established.

Abstract:Pythagorean fuzzy set, generalized by Yager, is a new tool to deal with vagueness considering the membership grade μ$$\mu $$ and non-membership ν$$\nu $$ satisfying the condition μ2+ν2≤1$$\mu ^2+\nu ^2\le 1$$. It can be used to characterize the uncertain information more sufficiently and accurately than intuitionistic fuzzy set. Pythagorean fuzzy set has attracted great attention of many scholars that have been extended to new types and these extensions have been used in many areas such as decision making, aggregation operators, and information measures. Because of such a growth, we present an overview on Pythagorean fuzzy set with aim of offering a clear perspective on the different concepts, tools and trends related to their extension. In particular, we provide two novel algorithms in decision making problems under Pythagorean fuzzy environment. It may be served as a foundation for developing more algorithms in decision making.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concepts of Pythagorean fuzzy valued neutrosophic set (PFVNS) and Pythagorean fuzzy valued neutrosophic (PFVNV) constructed by considering Pythagorean fuzzy values (PFVs) instead of numbers for the degrees of the truth, the indeterminacy and the falsity, which is a new extension of intuitionistic fuzzy valued neutrosophic set (IFVNS). By means of PFVNSs, the degrees of the truth, the indeterminacy and the falsity can be given in Pythagorean fuzzy environment and more sensitive evaluations are made by a decision maker in decision making problems compared to IFVNSs. In other words, such sets enable a decision maker to evaluate the degrees of the truth, the indeterminacy and the falsity as PFVs to model the uncertainty in the evaluations. First of all, we propose the concepts of Pythagorean fuzzy t-norm and t-conorm and show that some Pythagorean fuzzy t-norms and t-conorms are expressed via ordinary continuous Archimedean tnorms and t-conorms. Then we define the concepts of PFVNS and PFVNV and provide a tool to construct a PFVNV from an ordinary neutrosophic fuzzy value. We also define some set theoretic operations between PFVNSs and some algebraic operations between PFVNVs via t-norms and t-conorms. With the help of these algebraic operations we propose some weighted aggregation operators. To measure discrimination information of PFVNVs, we define a simplified neutrosophic valued modified fuzzy cross-entropy measure. Moreover, we introduce a multi-criteria decision making method in Pythagorean fuzzy valued neutrosophic environment and practice the proposed theory to a real life multi-criteria decision making problem. Finally, we study the comparison analysis and the time complexity of the proposed method.

Abstract:The Fuzzy Modeling has been applied in a wide variety of fields such as Engineering and Management Sciences and Social Sciences to solve a number Decision Making Problems which involve impreciseness, uncertainty and vagueness in data. In particular, applications of this Modeling technique in Decision Making Problems have remarkable significance. These problems have been tackled using various theories such as Probability theory, Fuzzy Set Theory, Rough Set Theory, Vague Set Theory, Approximate Reasoning Theory etc. which lack in parameterization of the tools due to which they could not be applied successfully to such problems. The concept of Soft Set has a promising potential for giving an optimal solution for these problems. With the motivation of this new concept, in this paper we define the concepts of Soft Relation and Fuzzy Soft Relation and then apply them to solve a number of Decision Making Problems. The advantages of Fuzzy Soft Relation compared to other paradigms are discussed. To the best of our knowledge this is the first work on the application of Fuzzy Soft Relation to the Decision Making Problems.

We study basic operations on bipolar fuzzy soft set. We define exdended union, intersection of two bipolar fuzzy soft set. We also give an application of bipolar fuzzy soft set into decision making problem. We give a general algorithm to solve decision making problems by using bipolar fuzzy soft set.

Abstract:This paper describes a generalized Diophantine fuzzy sets, which can be seen as a generalization of both Diophantine fuzzy sets and Pythagorean fuzzy sets. We define the basic properties of generalized Diophantine fuzzy set, as well as their relationships and distances. We compare Diophantine fuzzy sets with other Diophantine Pythagorean fuzzy sets to demonstrate their importance in the literature. We introduce new operators including necessity, possibility, accuracy function and score function. Furthermore, we discuss the new distance between normalized Euclidean distance and normalized Hamming distance. For a generalized Diophantine fuzzy relation, image and inverse image functions are defined. Numerous real-world applications can be found for the prevalent ideas of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, Pythagorean fuzzy sets, Diophantine fuzzy sets and q -rung orthopair fuzzy sets. Regretfully, these theories about the membership and non-membership grades have their own limits. We provide a new idea the generalized Diophantine fuzzy set that eliminates these limitations by including reference parameters. Compared to other kinds of fuzzy sets, there are more applications for generalized Diophantine fuzzy sets. We offer practical examples that show how different enhanced distances might be used in everyday situations. Additionally, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested approach, flowchart based multi-criteria decision-making is provided and used to a numerical example. The outcomes are assessed for various parameter values. Furthermore, a comparative analysis developed to demonstrate the superiority of the suggested technique over current methodologies.

Abstract:Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) have attracted the attention of researchers in recent years as it is very useful in modeling uncertain information. The main aim of this study is to conduct a comprehensive literature review to classify, analyze, and interpret the existing research, and to identify the research trends for the applications of the PFSs. For this purpose, this study firstly justifies the definitions, operations, and measures of PFSs. Then, the existing research from the literature is reviewed based on several dimensions which are believed to elicit relevant information. With this multi-dimensional survey approach, we seek to provide a deeper understanding and awareness of how previous research has incorporated the PFSs in different problem domains. At this stage, we particularly discuss the application areas of PFSs in multi-criteria decision-making as well as methods and tools used in the solution processes. Finally, the insights regarding the future research directions, challenges, and limitations are given.

Abstract:The decision-theoretic rough set model based on Bayesian decision theory proposes a framework for studying rough set approximations using probabilistic theory, it has become an important research direction of rough set theory. In order to extend the theory of decision-theoretic rough set, this article is devoted to studying the fuzzy decision-theoretic rough set model in type-2 fuzzy conditional information systems. The type-2 fuzzy similarity relations are induced though computing the measure of similarity between objects for each attribute. Then, we use intersection operation of type-2 fuzzy sets to aggregate the multiple induced fuzzy similarity relations. Next, a fuzzy decision-theoretic rough set approach for type-2 fuzzy conditional information systems is proposed by means of inclusion degree of type-2 fuzzy sets. Finally, an example is considered to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, which is helpful for applying these theories to deal with practical issues.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to introduce the concept of polytopic fuzzy sets as an extension of spherical fuzzy sets, picture fuzzy sets, and -rung orthopair fuzzy sets. We define some basic operations and aggregation operators on polytopic fuzzy sets. Based on these operators, we present three new methods to deal with the multiple-attribute decision-making problem which cannot be solved with the help of existing aggregation operators. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the validity of the proposed approach.

Abstract:Pythagorean fuzzy set, initially extended by Yager from intuitionistic fuzzy set, is capable of modeling information with more uncertainties in the process of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM), thus can be used on wider range of conditions. The fuzzy decision analysis of this paper is mainly built upon two expressions in Pythagorean fuzzy environment, named Pythagorean fuzzy number (PFN) and interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy number (IVPFN), respectively. We initiate a novel axiomatic definition of Pythagorean fuzzy distance measurement, including PFNs and IVPFNs. After that, corresponding theorems are put forward and then proved. Based on the defined distance measurements, the closeness indexes are developed for both expressions, inspired by the idea of technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) approach. After these basic definitions have been established, the hierarchical decision approach is presented to handle MCDM problems under Pythagorean fuzzy environment. To address hierarchical decision issues, the closeness index-based score function is defined to calculate the score of each permutation for the optimal alternative. To determine criterion weights, a new method based on the proposed similarity measure and aggregation operator of PFNs and IVPFNs is presented according to Pythagorean fuzzy information from decision matrix, rather than being provided in advance by decision makers, which can effectively reduce human subjectivity. An experimental case is then conducted to demonstrate the applicability and flexibility of the proposed decision approach. Finally, extension forms of Pythagorean fuzzy decision approach for heterogeneous information are briefly introduced to show its potentials on further applications in other processing fields with information uncertainties.

Abstract:The notion of interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy sets permits four important parameters, i.e., membership degree, non-membership degree, and a pair of values strength of commitment and direction of commitment, to a given set to have an interval value in dealing with imprecise information. In the present communication, a new accuracy function is being provided to overcome the shortcomings of the existing score and available accuracy functions for interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy sets. The validity of the proposed accuracy function has been discussed in detail through the illustrative examples. Further, a new interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy $p$-distance measure for interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy numbers has been proposed and used in context with the existing weighted averaging operators. Finally, in view of the proposed accuracy function, distance measure and weighted averaging operators, a numerical example of multi-criteria decision-making problem has been solved to validate the proposed methodology.

Abstract:Fuzzy and rough sets are considered to be complementary to each other, addressing different aspects of uncertainty and vagueness. The rough set theory has been extended and modified such that it can be applied to the preference analysis in ordered decision making. However, neither the ordered structure nor dominance degrees among the investigated objects can be revealed during the ordered decision making process. In this paper, an innovative rough set model based on fuzzy covering is developed for ordered decision making. First, the crisp preference relation rough set model and the fuzzy preference relation model for ordered decision making were introduced. Next we integrated the fuzzy preference relation with the crisp preference relation rough set model to propose an innovative rough set model based on fuzzy covering for ordered decision making. Using the innovative model, both the ordered structure and dominance degrees among the investigated objects can be revealed during the ordered decision making process. The proposed model was then compared with the crisp preference rough set model. Finally, the proposed model is utilized to analyze fuzzy preference data obtained from real experiments of ordered decision making. Results validated the effectiveness of the innovative model.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concept of circular Pythagorean fuzzy set (value) (C-PFS(V)) as a new generalization of both circular intuitionistic fuzzy sets (C-IFSs) proposed by Atannassov and Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) proposed by Yager. A circular Pythagorean fuzzy set is represented by a circle that represents the membership degree and the non-membership degree and whose centre consists of non-negative real numbers μ and ν with the condition . A C-PFS models the fuzziness of the uncertain information more properly thanks to its structure that allows modelling the information with points of a circle of a certain centre and a radius. Therefore, a C-PFS lets decision makers to evaluate objects in a larger and more flexible region and thus more sensitive decisions can be made. After defining the concept of C-PFS we define some fundamental set operations between C-PFSs and propose some algebraic operations between C-PFVs via general triangular norms and triangular conorms. By utilizing these algebraic operations, we introduce some weighted aggregation operators to transform input values represented by C-PFVs to a single output value. Then to determine the degree of similarity between C-PFVs we define a cosine similarity measure based on radius. Furthermore, we develop a method to transform a collection of Pythagorean fuzzy values to a C-PFS. Finally, a method is given to solve multi-criteria decision making problems in circular Pythagorean fuzzy environment and the proposed method is practiced to a problem about selecting the best photovoltaic cell from the literature. We also study the comparison analysis and time complexity of the proposed method.

Abstract:Complex fuzzy soft matrices play a crucial role in various applications, including decision-making, pattern recognition, signals processing, and image processing. The main objective of this study is to introduce the unique notions of complex Pythagorean fuzzy soft matrices (CPFSMs), which provide more flexibility and accuracy in modelling uncertainty. CPFSMs incorporate Pythagorean fuzzy soft matrices, allowing for more sophisticated uncertainty modeling. The key findings of CPFSMs, specific instances, and certain fundamental set-theoretic operations and principles were covered. A set of new distance metrics between two CPFSMs has been defined. In the context of complex Pythagorean fuzzy soft sets and complex Pythagorean fuzzy soft matrices, we created a CPFS decision-making technique. Moreover, the application's numerical example and comparison analysis have been effectively demonstrated. Thus, by integrating the concepts of Pythagorean fuzzy sets, soft matrices, and complex numbers, CPFSMs provide a robust framework with membership and non-membership degrees for complex decision-making modeling and analyzing uncertain data.

Abstract:This study proposes a novel approach to fuzzy N -soft sets for handling cases where membership degree and grade are not related. In the standard model of fuzzy N -soft sets, membership degree and grade are assumed to be directly proportional. This assumption may not hold true in real-world situations, so a more flexible and nuanced approach is necessary. The proposed approach includes two novel algorithms for decision-making problems involving fuzzy N -soft sets. As a result, it is able to be adaptable and sensitive when addressing uncertainties in real-world scenarios, with a particular focus on identifying and sanctioning cyber harassment on social media platforms. Additionally, an innovative perspective and approach to decision-making problems involving fuzzy N -soft sets is introduced by extending an established selection process that prioritizes the dominant parameter, resulting in more precise and dependable outcomes. Our study offers an effective tool for decision-making in various fields, including e-commerce, social media, and product reviews.

Abstract:Approaches based on computing with words find good applicability in decision making systems. Predominantly finding their basis in type-1 fuzzy sets, computing with words approaches employ type-1 fuzzy sets as semantics of the linguistic terms. However, type-2 fuzzy sets have been proven to be scientifically more appropriate to represent linguistic information in practical systems. They take into account both the intra-uncertainty as well as the inter-uncertainty in cases where the linguistic information comes from a group of experts. Hence in this paper, we propose to introduce linguistic terms whose semantics are denoted by interval type-2 fuzzy sets within the hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set framework, resulting in type-2 fuzzy sets based hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets. We also introduce a novel method of computing type-2 fuzzy envelopes out of multiple interval type-2 fuzzy sets with trapezoidal membership functions. Furthermore, the proposed framework with interval type-2 fuzzy sets is applied on a supplier performance evaluation scenario. Since humans are predominantly involved in the entire process of supply chain, their feedback is crucial while deciding many factors. Towards the end of the paper, we compare our presented model with various existing models and demonstrate the advantages of the former.

Abstract:The paper's aims are to present a novel concept of linguistic interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy set (LIVPFS) or called a linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic type-2 fuzzy set, which is a robust and trustworthy tool, and to accomplish the imprecise information while solving the decision-making problems. The presented LIVPFS is a generalization of the linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy set, by characterizing the membership and non-membership degrees as the interval-valued linguistic terms to represent the uncertain information. To explore the study, we firstly define some basic operational rules, score and accuracy functions, and the ordering relations of LIVPFS with a brief study of the desirable properties. Based on the stated operational laws, we proposed several weighted averages and geometric aggregating operators to aggregate the linguistic interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy information. The fundamental inequalities between the proposed operators and their properties are discussed in detail. Finally, a multiple attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) algorithm is promoted to solve the group decision-making problems with uncertain information using linguistic features and the proposed operators. Also, the illustration of the stated algorithm is given through several numerical examples and compared their performance with the results of the existing algorithms. Based on the stated MAGDM algorithm and the suitable operators, the decision-makers' can be selected their best alternatives with their own attitude character towards optimism or pessimism choice. The presented LIVPFS is an extension of the several existing sets and is more generalized to utilize the uncertain and imprecise information with a wider range of information. Based on the presented aggregation operators, a decision-maker can select the desired one as per their choices to access the finest alternatives.
