Abstract:The recent advancements and modifications of the agricultural methodologies are leading to consequent ecological modifications. This area is of great concern as it is related to biological niche of the environment. The sustainable agriculture with the involvement of plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) and other related microorganisms has the ability to introduce novel methodologies in Organic Farming. Certain fungi (Trichoderma hazinorum) and bacteria (Pseudomonas fluorescence) are friendly to the environment and are naturally mutualistic with the plants. The current study was aimed to detect the PGP –Activity among economically important crops of India, i.e. ground nuts, black gram and capsicum. The screening of two important microorganisms (Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas aeruginosa), were allowed for isolation, biochemical characterization and tested for their PGP-Activities on the above mentioned plants. These organisms were tested individually and in combination towards PGPA. The individual microorganism showed IAA production, Phosphate solubilization, and antagonistic activities. The results showed that, the PGPA of Trichoderma viride is found to be more effective than compared to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The combined activity of both the strains showed potent PGPA. The future aspects include developing new strains of the mentioned microbes to increase PGPA for sustainable agriculture.
