Abstract:Few studies have addressed the impact of adefovir dipivoxil (ADV)-based combination therapy on the renal function of patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). This study evaluated the effects of ADV combined with other antiviral nucleotide analogs (NAs) on renal function of patients with CHB, and analyzed the risk factors for more than 20% reduction of baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).The data of 164 patients with CHB were retrospectively analyzed in this study. Of the 164 patients, 42 received entecavir (ETV) combined with ADV (ETV + ADV group), 68 lamivudine (LAM) combined with ADV (LAM + ADV group), and 54 telbivudine (LDT) combined with ADV (LDT + ADV group). Serum creatinine (SCr) level, eGFR, and proportion of patients with eGFR ≥ 90 mL/min/1.73 m were observed. Also, the independent risk factors for more than 20% reduction of baseline eGFR were analyzed.After 104-week combination therapy, compared with the baseline level, SCr levels were significantly increased in the ETV + ADV group (67 μmol/L vs 73 μmol/L, P = .012) and LAM + ADV group (68 μmol/L vs 79 μmol/L, P = .008), but it was significantly decreased in the LDT + ADV group (69 μmol/L vs 64 μmol/L, P = .023). Compared with the baseline level, eGFR was significantly decreased in the ETV + ADV group (107.8 mL/min/1.73 m vs 96.1 mL/min 1.73/m, P = .004), and LAM + ADV group (105.4 mL/min/1.73 m vs 87.3 mL/min/1.73 m, P = .000), but it was significantly increased in the LDT + ADV group (104.1 mL/min 1.73/m vs 116.2 mL/min/1.73 m,P = .005). The proportion of patients with normal renal function (≥90 mL/min/1.73 m) was significantly higher in the LDT + ADV group than in the ETV + ADV group (P = .002) and LAM + ADV group (P = .001). Multivariate analysis showed that age (P = .035), male (P = .005), baseline eGFR (P < .001), LAM combined with ADV (P < .008), and ETV combined with ADV (P = .03) were independent risk factors for 20% reduction of baseline eGFR.As compared with ETV and ADV combination therapy as well as LAM and ADV combination therapy, LDT and ADV combination therapy can improve eGFR level, so LDT and ADV combination therapy is suitable for the patients with potential renal impairment.
Efficacy of Combined Therapy in Patients with Hepatitis B Virus-Related Decompensated Cirrhosis.

Abstract:AIM:To investigate the efficacy and safety of combined de novo lamivudine (LAM) and adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) therapy in hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related decompensated liver cirrhosis patients.METHODS:One hundred and forty patients with HBV-related decompensated cirrhosis were recruited, 70 patients were treated with combined LAM and ADV de novo therapy, and the other 70 patients were treated with LAM alone as controls. The follow-up period was 144 wk. All patients with LAM resistance were shifted to ADV.RESULTS:The percentage of HBV-related decompensated cirrhosis patients with undetectable HBV DNA in de novo combination group was 51.6% (33/64), 84.2% (48/57), and 92.3% (49/53) by weeks 48, 96, and 144, respectively. In monotherapy group, HBV DNA negativity rate was 46.1% (30/65), 56.1% (32/57), and 39.2% (20/51) by weeks 48, 96 and 144, respectively. There was a significant difference between the two groups by weeks 96 and 144 (P = 0.012 and 0.001). The hepatitis B e antigen seroconversion rate was 28.1% (9/32), 40.0% (12/30), and 53.6% (15/28) in the combination group by weeks 48, 96 and 144, respectively, and 24.2% (8/33), 31.0% (9/29), and 37.0% (10/27) by weeks 48, 96 and 144, respectively, in monotherapy group. A total of 68.6% (44/64), 84.2% (48/57), and 92.5% (49/53) patients achieved alanine aminotransferase (ALT) normalization by weeks 48, 96 and 144, respectively in the combination group. In monotherpy group, the ALT normalization rate was 64.6% (42/65) by week 48, 73.7% (42/57) by week 96, and 80.4% (41/51) by week 144. No patients in the combination group exhibited detectable resistance for at least 144 wk. The cumulative resistance rate in monotherapy group at weeks 48, 96, and 144 was 20.0%, 36.8%, and 56.9%. Both combination group and monotherapy group demonstrated an improvement in Child-Turcotte Pugh and Model for End-Stage Liver Disease scores at weeks 48, 96, and 144. All patients tolerated both combination and monotherapy. The ceratinine levels and glomerular filtration rate remained normal in all patients during the follow-up period.CONCLUSION:In HBV-related decompensated liver cirrhosis patients, the combined de novo LAM and ADV therapy is more efficacious and safer compared to LAM alone.
Efficacy of adefovir dipivoxil in treatment of chronic hepatitis B patients with lamivudine resistance

Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) in treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with lamivudine (LAM) resistance. Methods There were treatment group (32 CHB patients with LAM resistance) and historical control group (24 CHB patients with LAM resistance) in this study. The treatment group received ADV 10 mg/d and LAM 100 mg/d for 48 weeks; the historical control group continued to use LAM monotherapy. During the treatment causes, serum HBV DNA levels, liver function and HBV serology were monitored regularly, and safety assessments were also conducted. Results In treatment group, mean HBV DNA levels decreased by 2.56 log10 eopies/ml and 2.93 log10 copies/ml, virus response rates were 50. 0% and 75.0%, ALT normalization rates were 53.1% and 68.8% after 24 and 48 weeks of treatment, respectively. The histological improvement rate was 65.6% after 48 weeks. Comparing with those in control group, the differences were statistically significant ( P <0. 05), while there was no significant statistical differences in HBeAg loss rate and HBeAg seroconversion rate between two groups. There was no severe adverse event during the treatment. Conclusion ADV is effective and safe in treatment of lamivudine-resistant CHB.

Efficacy and Safety of 12 Weeks-Entecavir Treatment in HBeAg-negative Chronic Hepatitis B Patients with Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure in Comparison to Lamivudine

Abstract:Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of 12 weeks-entecavir (ETV) treatment in HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) in comparison to lamivudine (LAM).Methods Ninety eight HBeAg-negative patients with HBV-ACLF who were nucleos(t) ide analogs treatment naive as well as with detectable serum HBV DNA were randomly divided into ETV group and LAM group,and each have 49 patients.Additional to the comprehensively basic internal medicine treatment,antiviral therapy with ETV (0.5 mg,qd) or LAM (0.1,qd) was performed,respectively.The differences of mortality rates,clinical improvement rates,complete virological response (CVR) rates and,adverse events between ETV group and LAM group were compared after 12 weeks of treatment.Results The baseline characteristics of patients in ETV group were comparable to those in LAM group.At week 12,a lower mortality rate of 28.6％ than that of LAM group (48.9％) was observed in ETV group (P ＜ 0.05).In terms of clinical improvement rate,ETV group indicated a higher tendency in total (65.3％ vs 48.3％,P =0.067) and a statistically significant value in subpopulation of model for end-stage liver disease scored no more than 30 than LAM group (75.6％ vs 52.5％,P ＜ 0.05).As expected,ETV group achieved a higher CVR rate than LAM group at week 12 (94.3％ vs 72％,P ＜0.05).Discontinuation of antiviral therapy occurred to none of the patients in both groups.Conclusions Comparing with LAM,ETV can safely inhibit HBV replication more intensively and reduce the 12 weeks mortality rate in HBeAg-negative patients with HBV-ACLF.

Abstract:Background and AimData about the efficacy of de novo combination therapies, or optimization strategy by adding the other drug based on the virological response at week 24 of low genetic barrier antiviral agents is still limited. This study aimed to compare the efficacy at week 104 of lamivudine monotherapy (MONO), lamivudine plus adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) combination therapy (COMBO), and lamivudine optimization strategy (OPTIMIZE).MethodsAdult patients without antiviral therapy within 6 months before screening with hepatitis B virus (HBV)-DNA10(5) copies/mL, alanine aminotransferase 1.3-10 times upper limit of normal and compensated hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-positive chronic hepatitis B (CHB) were randomized into three groups with 1:1:1 ratio. Patients in OPTIMIZE group started with lamivudine 100mg q.d., and ADV 10mg q.d. was added to suboptimal responders (HBV-DNA >1000 copies/mL at week 24) from week 30 to week 104, whereas patients with early virological response (HBV-DNA1000 copies/mL at week 24) continued MONO until week 104. For all the patients receiving MONO, ADV would be added if virological breakthrough was confirmed.ResultsAt week 104, more patients in COMBO and OPTIMIZE groups achieved HBV-DNA<300 copies/mL (53.3% [64/120] and 48.3% [58/120]), with less lamivudine resistance (0.8% and 6.7%) compared with MONO group (HBV-DNA<300 copies/mL 34.8% [41/118], lamivudine resistance 58.5%). Patients under MONO with early virological response showed superior efficacy at week 104 (HBV-DNA<300 copies/mL 73.1% [38/52], HBeAg seroconversion 40.4% [21/52]). All regimens were well tolerated.ConclusionCombination therapy of lamivudine plus ADV exhibited effective viral suppression and relatively low resistance in HBeAg-positive CHB patients. In lamivudine-treated patients with suboptimal virological response at week 24, promptly adding on ADV is necessary to prevent resistance development.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) in treating patients with lamivudine (LAM) refractory HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B. METHODS It is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study. 226 eligible patients with HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B were randomized (randomization ratio was 2:1) into two groups. One group received ADV 10 mg/d and LAM 100 mg/d for 12 weeks and followed by ADV 10 mg/d for 36 weeks (ADV + LAM-->ADV group); the other received placebo and LAM 100 mg/d for 12 weeks and followed by ADV 10 mg/d for 36 weeks (placebo + LAM-->ADV group). The primary efficacy measure was virological response. The secondary efficacy measure was serological response (HBeAg loss rate and HBeAg seroconversion rate) and ALT normalization rate. RESULTS After 12 weeks of therapy, mean reduction of HBV DNA level, the percentage of patients with HBV DNA lower than 5 l g copies/ml and the percentage of patients with HBV DNA level decrease of more than 2 l g copies/ml in patients of ADV + LAM-->ADV group were significantly higher than those in patients of placebo + LAM-->ADV group (2.69 lg copies/ml vs. 1.06 lg copies/ml, 92.7% vs. 33.3%, 78.1% vs. 27.8%), all the P values were 0.00. HBV DNA undetectable (<3l g copies/ml) rate and serological response (HBeAg loss rate and HBeAg seroconversion rate) in patients of ADV + LAM-->ADV group was slightly higher than those in patients of placebo + LAM-->ADV group (12.2% vs 5.6%, 5.1% vs 0, 4.9% vs 0), but did not reach statistical significance. Much more patients in both treatment arms achieved virological response, serological response and ALT normalization after another 36 weeks of therapy. The overall safety profile of ADV was similar to that of placebo. rtN236T and rtA181V mutation was not found in this 48-week study. CONCLUSION ADV is an effective and well-tolerated treatment option for patients with LAM refractory HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B.
Early Kidney Injury During Long-Term Adefovir Dipivoxil Therapy for Chronic Hepatitis B.

Abstract:AIM:To evaluate urine β2-microglobulin (β2-M), retinol-binding protein (RBP) excretion, and renal impairment with adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) for chronic hepatitis B.METHODS:We enrolled 165 patients with chronic hepatitis B infection who were treated with ADV monotherapy (n = 90) or ADV plus lamivudine combination therapy (n = 75). An additional 165 chronic hepatitis B patients treated with entecavir were recruited as controls. We detected serum creatinine, urine β2-M, and RBP levels, and estimated the glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) at the initiation of antiviral therapy and every 6 mo for a period of five years.RESULTS:Urine β2-M abnormalities were observed in patients during the first (n = 3), second (n = 7), third (n = 11), fourth (n = 16), and fifth (n = 21) year of ADV treatment. Urinary RBP abnormalities were observed in patients during the first (n = 2), second (n = 8), third (n = 12), fourth (n = 15), and fifth (n = 22) year of ADV treatment. eGFR decreased 20%-30% from baseline in 20 patients, 30%-50% in 12 patients, and > 50% in 3 patients during the five years of treatment. Further analysis indicated that decreases in eGFR of ≥ 30% relative to the baseline level correlated significantly with urine RBP and β2-M abnormalities. In contrast, both serum creatinine and eGFR remained stable in patients treated with entecavir, and only one of these patients developed a urine β2-M abnormality, and two developed urine RBP abnormalities during the five years of treatment.CONCLUSION:Urine RBP and β2-M are biomarkers of renal injury during long-term ADV treatment for chronic hepatitis B, and indicate when treatment should be switched to entecavir.

Abstract:The essence of this study is to apply the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique for assembling asymmetric membranes. Accordingly, Langmuir films of a (further) polymerizable polymer, 1,2-polybutadiene (1,2-pbd), were studied and transferred onto different solid supports, such as gold, indium tin oxide (ITO), and silicon. The layers were characterized both at the air/water interface as well as on different substrates using numerous methods including cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, spectroscopic ellipsometry, atomic force microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and reflection-absorption Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The Langmuir films were stable at the air-water interface as long as they were not exposed to UV irradiation. The LB films formed disorganized layers, which gradually blocked the permeation of different species with increasing the number of deposited layers. The thickness was ca. 4-7 Å per layer. Irradiating the Langmuir films caused their cross-linking at the air-water interface. Furthermore, we took advantage of the reactivity of the double bond of the LB films on the solid supports and graft polymerized acrylic acid on top of the 1,2-pbd layers. This approach is the basis of the formation of an asymmetric membrane that requires different porosity on both of its sides.

Abstract:By analysing a series that initially started with 160 cases it is possible to compare the results of trying to cure infundibular stenoses, which means agglutinations and phimosis of the ampulla using the laparoscope or open laparotomy. It would appear that these lesions should be strictly classified and this classification should be based on careful laparoscopic investigation of the infundibulum and on hydrotubation testing. It is then found that these are not good cases for endoscopic surgical treatment. The results are poor whether looked at from the level of fertility that is finally achieved as well as the morphological improvement in the conditions and they are far worse than those following conventional surgery. Therefore it is necessary to conclude that laparotomy is always preferable for a cure of these cases. The only indication for laparoscopic surgery is infundibular stenosis which occurs afterterminal tubal plastic surgery which is by itself not a rare happening.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of combination therapy of lamivudine(LAM) and adefoveir dipivoxil(ADV) compared with ADV monotheray for LAM-resistant patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB).Methods RCTs studies of combination therapy of ADV and LAM for LAM-resistant patients with CHB were searched,in which the control group was ADV monotheray.Two reviewer assessed the documents' quality separately and completed data extraction.The statistical analysis was dealed with Revman 5.0 software.Results After treatment for 48 weeks or 48 months,the biochemical response ratio in ADV + LAM combination group was higher than that in ADV monotherapy group,with OR(95%CI,P):1.84(1.12-3.00,0.02) and 80.29(4.18-1541.64,0.004),respectively;higher virological response rates were observed in ADV + LAM combination group compared with ADV monotherapy group,and the difference in response rate between two groups were statistically significant,with RR(95%CI,P):1.22(1.06-1.39,0.004) and 1.90(1.10-3.30,0.02),respectively;the ratios of HBeAg clearance and HBeAg seroconversion between two groups were similar,with OR(95%CI,P) in ADV monotherapy and ADV+LAM combination therapy 1.02(0.40-2.5,0.97) and 1.30(0.63-2.68,0.47),respectively.Greater emergence ratio of ADV-resistant mutants(95%CI,P) were observed:0.13(0.03-0.58,0.008) and 0.07(0.01-0.40,0.003).Conclusions Current studies on LAM-resisant patients with CHB indicated that combination therepy of ADV and LAM was superior on HBV replication inhibition,biochemical response and ADV drug resistance prevention compared with LAM monotherapy;effects on HBeAg clearance and seroconversion between combination therapy and monotherapy were similar.Long-term application of ADV with 10 mg/d was generally well tolerated,and no patient had to cease therapy because of renal toxicity.

Abstract:The decay Delta(+)-->pgamma is studied in the 1/N(c) expansion of QCD. The ratio of the helicity amplitudes is determined to be A(3/2)/A(1/2)=sqrt[3]+O(1/N(2)(c)). Equivalently, the ratio E2/M1 of the multipole amplitudes is predicted to be order 1/N(2)(c).
Comparison of the 48-week efficacy of Lamivudine plus Adefovir or Entecavir monotherapy in patients with HBeAg negative hepatitis following Lamivudine treatment failure

Abstract:Aims: To compare the efficacy of treatment with lamivudine (LAM) plus adefovir (ADV) or entecavir (ETV) monotherapy in LAM treatment failure patients with HBeAg negative chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients during 48 weeks of therapy. Patients and methods: Thirty patients with HBeAg negative CHB were enrolled in the study. The serum levels of HBV DNA, HBsAg/HBsAb, and ALT were assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay at 0, 12, 24, 36, and 48 weeks. Results: The rate of undetectable HBV DNA in the LAM+ADV group was 100%, which was higher than the ETV group at 48 weeks (73.33%, χ2 = 4.615, P = 0.032). Multivariate analysis using the Cox proportional hazards model showed that therapy with LAM+ADV or baseline levels of HBV DNA <107 copies/ml were independent predictive factors for undetectable HBV DNA rates in all patients (RR: 2.488, P = 0.042; RR: 0.201, P = 0.035). Conclusions: During the 48 weeks of treatment in patients with HBeAg negative CHB, LAM plus ADV suppressed HBV replication more effectively than ETV monotherapy. In addition, no virologic breakthrough was detected in the LAM add-on ADV group. Additionally, therapy with LAM+ADV or baseline levels of HBV DNA <107copies/ml were independent predictive factors for undetectable HBV DNA rates in patients.

Abstract:Background/aim: There is very limited experience in the management of telbivudine (LdT)-associated virological breakthrough (VBT) and resistance in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients, and the guideline recommendations are primitively based on the general principles of rescue therapy to nucleos(t)ide analog resistance. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the addition of adefovir (ADV) in hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-positive CHB patients with VBT or resistance to LdT. Methods: Thirty-seven CHB patients with confirmed VBT and 31 patients with genotypic resistance to LdT were enrolled and thereafter treated with a combination of LdT and ADV for 12 months. Results: Combination therapy was safe and the majority of patients tolerated the therapy. LdT+ADV led to rapid decreases in viral loads, and viral replications were persistently suppressed, with 2.17 (VBT) and 2.31 (resistance) log(10) copies/ml reductions 12 months after rescue therapy, respectively. The rates corresponding to virological and biochemical responses were similar between the two groups at the end of observations (70.3 vs. 74.2% for virological response, P=0.720; 64.0 vs. 65.5% for biochemical response, P=0.907). The cumulative rates of serological responses were higher in patients with VBT than in those with resistance (35.1 vs. 9.67% for HBeAg loss, P=0.014; 10.8 vs. 3.23% for HBeAg/anti-HBe seroconversion, P=0.233). Conclusion: LdT and ADV combination therapy led to significant decreases in serum hepatitis B virus DNA levels and normalization of alanine aminotransferase levels in patients with VBT or genotypic resistance to LdT. This rescue strategy was also associated with a higher rate of HBeAg serological outcomes in patients with confirmed LdT-related VBT.

Abstract:Objective: To compare the 2-year efficacy and safety of combination therapy with entecavir (ETV) and adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) to that of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) monotherapy in treatment of patients with adefovir drug-resistant chronic hepatitis B. Methods: HBeAg-positive CHB patients (n = 100) with adefovir-resistance (rtA181T/V and/or rtN236T) were enrolled. Patients were treated with either ETV 0.5 mg plus ADV 10 mg per day (n = 52) or TDF 300 mg per day (n = 48) for 48 weeks. Tests for liver and kidney function, Serum Phosphorus, HBV serum markers, HBV DNA load and ultrasonography of liver were performed every 3 months. Student's t-test and χ2 test were used to compare the efficacy, side effects in the two groups. Results: Fifty-two patients in ETV + ADV group and forty-eight patients in TDF group were followed-up for 96 weeks. HBV DNA undetectable rate were 76.9% versus 81.3% (P = 0.631) at week 48, and 92.3% versus 95.8% (P = 0.679) at week 96 in ETV + ADV combination therapy and TDF monotherapy group respectively. Serum ALT normalized rate were 84.6% versus 87.5% (P = 0.777) at week 48, and 92.3% versus 95.8% (P = 0.679) at week 96 in ETV+ADV combination therapy and TDF monotherapy group respectively. But the level of serum Phosphorus was significantly lower in ETV + ADV combination therapy group compare with TDF monotherapy group (1.13 ±0.15 versus 1.22 ±0.16, P = 0.004) at week 96. Conclusion: Both ETV + ADV combination therapy and TDF monotherapy provided effective treatments in chronic hepatitis B with adefovir-resistant. However, it was associated with poor serological responses up to week 96. The long term treatment of hepatitis B with ETV (0.5 mg/day) combination of ADV (10 mg/day) can potentially cause hypophosphatemia and renal impairment, so regular monitoring of serum phosphate, serum creatinine and evaluation of eGFR is needed.

Abstract:Data remains limited about the optimal nucleos(t)ide analogue therapy for patients infected with hepatitis B virus (HBV) while treated with glucocorticoids because of kidney diseases. We aim to evaluate the safety and efficacy of long-term antiviral therapy with telbivudine (LdT) and entecavir (ETV) in this specific population. In this prospective randomized controlled study, a total of 60 patients with both kidney diseases and chronic hepatitis B were randomly divided into LdT group and ETV group. We analyzed changes in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), variation in HBV DNA, seroconversion of hepatitis B e antigen (HbeAg) and hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). During the 18 month follow-up period, serum HBV DNA load was decreased significantly at 3, 6, 12, 18 months, compared to the pre-treatment value in both LdT and ETV cohorts. No patients achieved HBeAg loss-seroconversion or HBsAg loss-seroconversion with ETV therapy whilst one patient experienced HBeAg and HBsAg loss-seroconversion with LdT therapy. No significant changes in eGFR were seen in patients with ETV therapy compared to baseline. However, eGFR increased 7.43, 18.97 mL/min/1.73m(2), respectively at 12 and 18 months in LdT group and the changes were significant compared to baseline. Further analysis also demonstrated that eGFR significantly improved 11.8, 23.25 mL/min/1.73m(2) at 12 and 18 months in LdT group for patients with impaired renal function. LdT is superior to ETV in patients with chronic hepatitis B and kidney diseases because of the renal protection it confers by increasing eGFR.

Abstract:Objective To analyse the efficacy of lamivudine(LAM) combined adefovir dipivoxil(ADV) and entecavir(ETV) in the treatment of naive patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) .Methods Cochrane Library ,MEDLINE ,Web of Science ,CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure ) ,WANFANG database and VIP database were searched and the references of eligible studies were screened .All relevant literatures published before March 6th ,2012 were reviewed .Comparison of the efficacy of lami-vudine combined adefovir dipivoxil and entecavir in the treatment of naive patients with chronic hepatitis B was included and Rev Man 5 .1 software was used for Meta analysis .Results Four eligible studies (587 patients in all) were included for the analysis .In the entecavir monotherapy group ,the serum ALT normalization rate was a little higher at the 12 weeks and 24 weeks of the treat-ment compared to the combination group[OR=0 .52 ,95% CI(0 .28 ,0 .97) ,Z=2 .04 ,P=0 .04] ,[OR=0 .45 ,95% CI(0 .22 ,0 .95) , Z=2 .11 ,P=0 .04] ,respectively .But after 36 weeks there was no significance between the two groups .For HBV DNA undetect-able rate ,there were no significant differences between the two groups at the 12 weeks ,24 weeks ,36 weeks ,48 weeks ,18 months , 24 months and 30 months of the treatment (P=0 .22 ,P=0 .30 ,P=0 .86 ,P=0 .31 ,P=0 .93 ,P=0 .84 and P=0 .83 respectively) . At the 48 weeks ,HBeAg negative rate has no significant difference between the two groups [OR=0 .93 ,95% CI(0 .29 ,2 .95) ,Z=0 .13 ,P=0 .90] .Conclusion Both LAM+ADV combination therapy and ETV monotherapy are effective in the treatment of naive patients with CHB ,but further studies are still needed to obtain long term results and safety by high quality ,large scale randomized controlled trials .
