Abstract:Sucrose non-fermenting-1-related protein kinase 2 (SnRK2) proteins constitute a small plant-specific serine/threonine kinase family involved in abscisic acid (ABA) signaling and plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. Although SnRK2s have been well-studied in Arabidopsis thaliana, little is known about SnRK2s in Brassica napus. Here we identified 30 putative sequences encoding 10 SnRK2 proteins in the B. napus genome and the expression profiles of a subset of 14 SnRK2 genes in guard cells of B. napus. In agreement with its polyploid origin, B. napus maintains both homeologs from its diploid parents. The results of quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and reanalysis of RNA-Seq data showed that certain BnSnRK2 genes were commonly expressed in leaf tissues in different varieties of B. napus. In particular, qRT-PCR results showed that 12 of the 14 BnSnRK2s responded to drought stress in leaves and in ABA-treated guard cells. Among them, BnSnRK2.4 and BnSnRK2.6 were of interest because of their robust responsiveness to ABA treatment and drought stress. Notably, BnSnRK2 genes exhibited up-regulation of different homeologs, particularly in response to abiotic stress. The homeolog expression bias in BnSnRK2 genes suggests that parental origin of genes might be responsible for efficient regulation of stress responses in polyploids. This work has laid a foundation for future functional characterization of the different BnSnKR2 homeologs in B. napus and its parents, especially their functions in guard cell signaling and stress responses.
Characterization and fine mapping of a new dwarf mutant in Brassica napus

Abstract:Abstract Background Plant height is an important plant characteristic closely related to yield performance of many crops. Reasonable reduction of plant height of crops is beneficial for improving yield and enhancing lodging resistance. Results In the present study, we described the Brassica napus dwarf mutant bnd2 that was isolated using ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) mutagenesis. Compared to wild type (WT), bnd2 exhibited reduced height and shorter hypocotyl and petiole leaves. By crossing the bnd2 mutant with the WT strain, we found that the ratio of the mutant to the WT in the F 2 population was close to 1:3, indicating that bnd2 is a recessive mutation of a single locus. Following bulked segregant analysis (BSA) by resequencing, BND2 was found to be located in the 13.77–18.08 Mb interval of chromosome A08, with a length of 4.31 Mb. After fine mapping with single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and insertion/deletion (InDel) markers, the gene was narrowed to a 140-Kb interval ranging from 15.62 Mb to 15.76 Mb. According to reference genome annotation, there were 27 genes in the interval, of which BnaA08g20960D had an SNP type variation in the intron between the mutant and its parent, which may be the candidate gene corresponding to BND2 . The hybrid line derived from a cross between the mutant bnd2 and the commercial cultivar L329 had similar plant height but higher grain yield compared to the commercial cultivar, suggesting that the allele bnd2 is beneficial for hybrid breeding of lodging resistant and high yield rapeseed. Conclusion In this study, we identified a novel dwarf mutant of rapeseed with a new locus, which may be useful for functional analyses of genetic mechanisms of plant architecture and grain yield in rapeseed.

Abstract:The white mould disease, caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, is one of the most important diseases in the vital oil crop Brassica napus. Nevertheless, the defense mechanisms of B. napus against S. sclerotiorum are poorly understood. In this study, we performed comparative quantitative proteomics analyses to reveal B. napus defense mechanisms against S. sclerotiorum. The proteomes of B. napus leaves inoculated with S. sclerotiorum wild-type strain 1980 and nonpathogenic mutant strain Ep-1PB as well as empty agar plug as the control were analyzed using TMT label-based quantitative analysis technique. A total of 79, 299 and 173 proteins consistently differentially expressed between Ep-1PB- and mock-inoculated leaves, 1980- and mock-inoculated leaves, as well as 1980- and Ep-1PB-inoculated leaves, respectively, were identified. The differential expression of 12 selected proteins was confirmed by qRT-PCR analyses. The Gene Ontology (GO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and protein-protein interaction prediction analyses revealed that redox homeostasis, lipid signaling, calcium signaling, histone and DNA methylation-mediated transcription regulation and defense-related proteins such as defensin and defensin-like proteins and cyanate lyase, contribute to defense against S. sclerotiorum. Abstract:Abstract Background Plant height is one of the most important agronomic traits in many crops due to its influence on lodging resistance and yield performance. Although progress has been made in the use of dwarfing genes in crop improvement, identification of new dwarf germplasm is still of significant interest for breeding varieties with increased yield. Results Here we describe a dominant, dwarf mutant G7 of Brassica napus with down-curved leaves derived from tissue culture. To explore the genetic variation responsible for the dwarf phenotype, the mutant was crossed to a conventional line to develop a segregating F 2 population. Bulks were formed from plants with either dwarf or conventional plant height and subjected to high throughput sequencing analysis via mutation mapping (MutMap). The dwarf mutation was mapped to a 0.6 Mb interval of B. napus chromosome C05. Candidate gene analysis revealed that one SNP causing an amino acid change in the domain II of Bna . IAA7.C05 may contribute to the dwarf phenotype. This is consistent with the phenotype of a gain-of-function indole-3-acetic acid ( iaa ) mutant in Bna . IAA7.C05 reported recently. GO and KEGG analysis of RNA-seq data revealed the down-regulation of auxin related genes, including many other IAA and small up regulated response ( SAUR ) genes, in the dwarf mutant. Conclusion Our studies characterize a new allele of Bna . IAA7.C05 responsible for the dwarf mutant generated from tissue culture. This may provide a valuable genetic resource for breeding for lodging resistance and compact plant stature in B. napus .

Comprehensive Morphological and Molecular Insights into Drought Tolerance Variation at Germination Stage in Brassica Napus Accessions

Abstract:Drought constitutes a noteworthy abiotic stressor, detrimentally impacting seed germination, plant development, and agricultural yield. In response to the threats imposed by climate change and water paucity, this study examined the morphological divergence and genetic governance of drought resilience traits at the germination stage in 196 rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) lines under both normal (0 MPa) and drought-induced stress (−0.8 MPa) scenarios. Our study showed that the composite drought tolerance D value is a reliable index for identifying drought resilience. Through a genome-wide association study (GWAS), we uncovered 37 significant SNP loci and 136 putative genes linked to drought tolerance based on the D value. A key discovery included the gene BnaA01g29390D (BnNCED3), encoding 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase, which exhibited significantly heightened expression levels in drought-resistant accessions (p < 0.01), underscoring its potential as a positive drought stress regulator and a suitable candidate for genetically enhancing drought resilience. Moreover, we pinpointed four stress-reactive transcription factors (BnaA07g26740D, BnaA07g26870D, BnaA07g26910D, and BnaA07g26980D), two E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases (BnaA05g22900D and BnaC06g28950D), two enzymes (BnaA01g29390D and BnaA03g48550D), and two photosystem-associated proteins (BnaA05g22950D and BnaC06g28840D) as vital components in drought response mechanisms. The construction of a regulatory network reveals an ABA-dependent pathway (NCED3/RGLG5/IDD14) that contributes to drought tolerance in rapeseed seedlings, alongside the involvement of a drought avoidance strategy (APRR6/PHYB). The SNPs and genes unveiled in this study offer a substantial theoretical foundation for subsequent investigations targeting genetic improvement for drought resilience during seed germination in rapeseed.

Abstract:Lodging is the primary factor limiting high yield under a high plant density. However, an optimal plant height and leaf shape can effectively decrease the lodging risk. Here we studied an ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS)-induced dwarf and a narrow-leaf mutant, dnl2. Gene mapping indicated that the mutant was controlled by a gene located on chromosome nine. Phenotypic and cytological observations revealed that dnl2 showed inhibited cell growth, altered vascular bundle patterning, and disrupted secondary cell wall structure when compared with the wild-type, which could be the direct cause of the dwarf and narrow-leaf phenotype. The phytohormone levels, especially auxin and gibberellin, were significantly decreased in dnl2 compared to the wild-type plants. Transcriptome profiling of the internodes of the dnl2 mutant and wild-type revealed a large number of differentially expressed genes enriched in the cell wall biosynthesis, remodeling, and hormone biosynthesis and signaling pathways. Therefore, we suggest that crosstalk between hormones (the altered vascular bundle and secondary cell wall structure) may contribute to the dwarf and narrow-leaf phenotype by influencing cell growth. These results provide a foundation for DNL2 gene cloning and further elucidation of the molecular mechanism of the regulation of plant height and leaf shape in maize.

Abstract:Rapeseed ( Brassica napus ) is an important oilseed crop worldwide. Plant vascular tissues are responsible for material transport and provide mechanical support. The lateral roots (LRs) absorb sufficient water and nutrients. The genetic basis of vascular tissues and LRs development in rapeseed remains unknown. This study characterized an EMS-mutagenized rapeseed mutant, T16 , which showed dwarf stature, reduced LRs, and leaf wilting. Scanning electron microscopy observations showed that the internode-cell shortened. Observations of the tissue sections revealed defects in the development of vascular bundles in the stems and petioles. Genetic analysis revealed that the phenotypes of T16 were controlled by a single semi-dominant nuclear gene. Map-based cloning and genetic complementarity confirmed that BnaA03.IAA13 is the functional gene, a G-to-A mutation in second exon changed the glycine at the 79 th position to glutamic acid, disrupting the conserved degron motif VGWPP. Transcriptome analysis in roots and stems showed that auxin and cytokinin signaling pathways were disordered in T16 . Evolutionary analysis showed that AUXIN/INDOLE‐3‐ACETIC ACID was conserved during plant evolution. The heterozygote of T16 significantly reduced the plant height while maintaining other agronomic traits. Our findings provide novel insights into the regulatory mechanisms of vascular tissues and LRs development, and provide a new germplasm resource for rapeseed breeding.

Abstract:The NDPK gene family is an important group of genes in plants, playing a crucial role in regulating energy metabolism, growth, and differentiation, cell signal transduction, and response to abiotic stress. However, our understanding of the NDPK gene family in Brassica napus L. remains limited. This paper systematically analyzes the NDPK gene family in B. napus, particularly focusing on the evolutionary differences within the species. In this study, sixteen, nine, and eight NDPK genes were identified in B. napus and its diploid ancestors, respectively. These genes are not only homologous but also highly similar in their chromosomal locations. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the identified NDPK proteins were divided into four clades, each containing unique motif sequences, with most NDPKs experiencing a loss of introns/exons during evolution. Collinearity analysis revealed that the NDPK genes underwent whole-genome duplication (WGD) events, resulting in duplicate copies, and most of these duplicate genes were subjected to purifying selection. Cis-acting element analysis identified in the promoters of most NDPK genes elements related to a light response, methyl jasmonate response, and abscisic acid response, especially with an increased number of abscisic acid response elements in B. napus. RNA-Seq results indicated that NDPK genes in B. napus exhibited different expression patterns across various tissues. Further analysis through qRT-PCR revealed that BnNDPK genes responded significantly to stress conditions such as salt, drought, and methyl jasmonate. This study enhances our understanding of the NDPK gene family in B. napus, providing a preliminary theoretical basis for the functional study of NDPK genes and offering some references for further revealing the phenomenon of polyploidization in plants.

Abstract:ABSTRACT Small RNA represent several unique noncoding RNA classes that have important function in the development of germ cells and early embryonic development. Deep sequencing was performed on small RNA from cumulus cells (recovered from germinal vesicle [GV] and metaphase II-arrested [MII] oocytes), GV and MII oocytes, in vitro fertilization-derived embryos at 60 h postfertilization (4- to 8-cell stage), and Day 6 blastocysts. Additionally, a heterologous miRNA microarray method was also used to identify miRNA expressed in the oocyte during in vitro maturation. Similar to the results of expression analysis of other species, these data demonstrate dynamic expression regulation of multiple classes of noncoding RNA during oocyte maturation and development to the blastocyst stage. Mapping small RNA to the pig genome indicates dynamic distribution of small RNA organization across the genome. Additionally, a cluster of miRNA and Piwi-interacting RNA (piRNA) was discovered on chromosome 6. Many of the small RNA mapped to annotated repetitive elements in the pig genome, of which the SINE/tRNA-Glu and LINE/L1 elements represented a large proportion. Two piRNA (piR84651 and piR16993) and seven miRNA (MIR574, MIR24, LET7E, MIR23B, MIR30D, MIR320, and MIR30C) were further characterized using quantitative RT-PCR. Secretory carrier membrane protein 4 (SCAMP4) was predicted to be subject to posttranscriptional gene regulation mediated by small RNA, by annotating small RNA reads mapped to exonic regions in the pig genome. Consistent with the prediction results, SCAMP4 was further confirmed to be differentially expressed at both transcriptional and translational levels. These data establish a small RNA expression profile of the pig cumulus-oocyte complex and early embryos and demonstrate their potential capacity to be utilized for predictions of functional posttranscriptional regulatory events.
Genome-wide Identification and Characterization of SnRK Family Genes in Brassica Napus

Abstract:Background Sucrose non-fermenting 1 related protein kinases ( SnRK) play crucial roles in responding to biotic and abiotic stresses through activating protein phosphorylation pathways. However, little information of SnRK genes was available in Brassica napus , one of important oil crops. Recently, the released sequences of the reference genome of B.napus provide a good chance to perform genome-wide identification and characterization of BnSnRK gene family in the rapeseed. Results Totally 114 SnRK genes distributed on 19 chromosomes were identified in the genome of B.napus and classified into three subfamilies on the basis of phylogenetic analysis and the domain types. According to gene structure and motif composition analysis, the BnSnRK sequences showed obvious divergence among three subfamilies. Gene duplication and synteny between the genomes of the rapeseed and Arabidopsis were also analyzed to provide insights into the evolutionary characteristics of BnSnRK family genes. C is- element analysis revealed that BnSnRKs may response to diverse environmental stresses. Moreover, the expression patterns of BnSnRKs in various tissues and under diverse abiotic stresses were distinct difference. Besides, Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP) distribution analysis suggests the function disparity of BnSnRK family genes in different genotypes of the rapeseed. Conclusion We examined genomic structures, evolution features, expression patterns and SNP distribution of 114 BnSnRKs . The results provide valuable information for functional characterization of BnSnRK genes in future studies.
Combined BSA-Seq Based Mapping and RNA-Seq Profiling Reveal Candidate Genes Associated with Plant Architecture in Brassica napus

Abstract:Plant architecture involves important agronomic traits affecting crop yield, resistance to lodging, and fitness for mechanical harvesting in Brassica napus. Breeding high-yield varieties with plant architecture suitable for mechanical harvesting is the main goal of rapeseed breeders. Here, we report an accession of B. napus (4942C-5), which has a dwarf and compact plant architecture in contrast to cultivated varieties. A BC8 population was constructed by crossing a normal plant architecture line, 8008, with the recurrent parent 4942C-5. To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying plant architecture, we performed phytohormone profiling, bulk segregant analysis sequencing (BSA-Seq), and RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) in BC8 plants with contrasting plant architecture. Genetic analysis indicated the plant architecture traits of 4942C-5 were recessive traits controlled by multiple genes. The content of auxin (IAA), gibberellin (GA), and abscisic acid (ABA) differed significantly between plants with contrasting plant architecture in the BC8 population. Based on BSA-Seq analysis, we identified five candidate intervals on chromosome A01, namely those of 0 to 6.33 Mb, 6.45 to 6.48 Mb, 6.51 to 6.53 Mb, 6.77 to 6.79 Mb, and 7 to 7.01 Mb regions. The RNA-Seq analysis revealed a total of 4378 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), of which 2801 were up-regulated and 1577 were down-regulated. There, further analysis showed that genes involved in plant hormone biosynthesis and signal transduction, cell structure, and the phenylpropanoid pathway might play a pivotal role in the morphogenesis of plant architecture. Association analysis of BSA-Seq and RNA-Seq suggested that seven DEGs involved in plant hormone signal transduction and a WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) gene (BnaA01g01910D) might be candidate genes responsible for the dwarf and compact phenotype in 4942C-5. These findings provide a foundation for elucidating the mechanisms underlying rapeseed plant architecture and should contribute to breed new varieties suitable for mechanization.

Abstract:Dwarfism is an important trait which is closely related to the efficiency of fruit orchard management and production. However, dwarfing cannot be widely applied in the cultivation of pears, especially Asian pears. Developing varieties with dwarf characteristics is a goal of paramount importance in pear breeding. In the present study, dwarf phenotype pears (DPPs) and arborescent phenotype pears (APPs) were obtained from the offspring of a cross between ‘Aiyuxiang’ and ‘Cuiguan’ pear cultivars, which exhibited dwarfed and arborescent statures, respectively. When compared with APPs, the heights of DPPs showed a 62.8% reduction, and the internode lengths were significantly shorter. Cross-grafting between DPPs and APPs demonstrated that the dwarfed phenotype of DPPs was primarily induced by the aerial portions of the plant, and independent of the root system. Observations of stem tissue sections showed that DPP cells were arranged chaotically with irregular shapes, and the average length was larger than that of the APP cells. A total of 1 401 differently expressed genes (DEGs) in shoot apices between DPPs and APPs were identified by RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq), and these DEGs were mainly enriched in the ‘phytohormone-related pathways, cell wall metabolism and cell division’ categories. Moreover, 101 DEGs were identified as transcription factors (TFs). In DPPs, several brassinosteroids (BR) signaling and cell cycle-related genes were significantly down-regulated, while genes involved in BR and GA degradation were up-regulated. Comprehensive analysis of RNA-Seq data and stem tissue sections suggested that the dwarfed phenotype of DPPs could be primarily attributed to deficiencies in cell division. Previous work using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers narrowed the location of the gene responsible for the dwarf phenotype of ‘Le Nain Vert’. Through combined analysis of our transcriptomic data with the SSR results, we identified four genes as promising candidates for the dwarf phenotype, among which, a DELLA gene could be the most promising. The results presented in this study provide a sound foundation for further exploration into the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying pear dwarfing.
Combining Physio-Biochemical Characterization and Transcriptome Analysis Reveal the Responses to Varying Degrees of Drought Stress in Brassica napus L.

Abstract:Brassica napus L. has become one of the most important oil-bearing crops, and drought stress severely influences its yield and quality. By combining physio-biochemical characterization and transcriptome analysis, we studied the response of B. napus plants to different degrees of drought stress. Some physio-biochemical traits, such as fresh weight (FW), dry weight (DW), abscisic acid (ABA) content, net photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (gs), and transpiration rate (Tr), were measured, and the total content of the epidermal wax/cutin, as well as their compositions, was determined. The results suggest that both stomatal transpiration and cuticular transpiration are affected when B. napus plants are subjected to varying degrees of drought stress. A total of 795 up-regulated genes and 1050 down-regulated genes were identified under severe drought stress by transcriptome analysis. Gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) revealed that the up-regulated genes were mainly enriched in the stress response processes, such as response to water deprivation and abscisic acid, while the down-regulated genes were mainly enriched in the chloroplast-related parts affecting photosynthesis. Moreover, overexpression of BnaA01.CIPK6, an up-regulated DEG, was found to confer drought tolerance in B. napus. Our study lays a foundation for a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying drought tolerance in B. napus.

Comparative Analysis of the Brassica napus Root and Leaf Transcript Profiling in Response to Drought Stress

Abstract:Drought stress is one of the major abiotic factors affecting Brassica napus (B. napus) productivity. In order to identify genes of potential importance to drought stress and obtain a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms regarding the responses of B. napus to dehydration stress, we performed large-scale transcriptome sequencing of B. napus plants under dehydration stress using the Illumina sequencing technology. In this work, a relatively drought tolerant B. napus line, Q2, identified in our previous study, was used. Four cDNA libraries constructed from mRNAs of control and dehydration-treated root and leaf were sequenced by Illumina technology. A total of 6018 and 5377 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in root and leaf. In addition, 1745 genes exhibited a coordinated expression profile between the two tissues under drought stress, 1289 (approximately 74%) of which showed an inverse relationship, demonstrating different regulation patterns between the root and leaf. The gene ontology (GO) enrichment test indicated that up-regulated genes in root were mostly involved in "stimulus" "stress" biological process, and activated genes in leaf mainly functioned in "cell" "cell part" components. Furthermore, a comparative network related to plant hormone signal transduction and AREB/ABF, AP2/EREBP, NAC, WRKY and MYC/MYB transcription factors (TFs) provided a view of different stress tolerance mechanisms between root and leaf. Some of the DEGs identified may be candidates for future research aimed at detecting drought-responsive genes and will be useful for understanding the molecular mechanisms of drought tolerance in root and leaf of B. napus.

Abstract:The DABB proteins, which are characterized by stress-responsive dimeric A/B barrel domains, have multiple functions in plant biology. In Arabidopsis thaliana, these proteins play a crucial role in defending against various pathogenic fungi. However, the specific roles of DABB proteins in Brassica napus remain elusive. In this study, 16 DABB encoding genes were identified, distributed across 10 chromosomes of the B. napus genome, which were classified into 5 branches based on phylogenetic analysis. Genes within the same branch exhibited similar structural domains, conserved motifs, and three-dimensional structures, indicative of the conservation of BnaDABB genes (BnaDABBs). Furthermore, the enrichment of numerous cis-acting elements in hormone induction and light response were revealed in the promoters of BnaDABBs. Expression pattern analysis demonstrated the involvement of BnaDABBs, not only in the organ development of B. napus but also in response to abiotic stresses and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum infection. Altogether, these findings imply the significant impacts of BnaDABBs on plant growth and development, as well as stress responses.

Abstract:The Brassica napus (oilseed rape) accession 1012-98 shows a disturbed germination phenotype that was thought to be associated with its lack of testa pigmentation and thin seed coat. Here, we demonstrate that the disturbed germination and seedling development are actually due to independent mutations that disrupt the balance of hormone metabolites and their regulators in the seeds. High-throughput UPLC-MS/MS hormone profiling of seeds and seedlings before and after germination revealed that 1012-98 has a severely disturbed hormone balance with extremely atypical, excessive quantities of auxin and ABA metabolites. The resulting hypersensitivity to abscisic acid (ABA) and a corresponding increase in dormancy often results in death of the embryo after imbibition or high frequencies of disturbed, often lethal developmental phenotypes, resembling Arabidopsis mutants for the auxin regulatory factor gene ARF10 or the auxin-overproducing transgenic line iaaM-OX. Molecular cloning of Brassica ARF10 orthologs revealed four loci in normal B. napus, two derived from the Brassica A genome and two from the C genome. On the other hand, the phenotypic mutant 1012-98 exhibited amplification of C-genome BnaC.ARF10 copy number along with a chimeric allele originating from recombination between homeologous A and C genome loci which lead to minor increase of Bna.ARF10 transcription on the critical timepoint for seed germination, the indirect regulator of ABI3, the germinative inhibitor. Bna.GH3.5 expression was upregulated to conjugate free auxin to IAA-asp between 2 and 6 DAS. Functional amino acid changes were also found in important DNA binding domains of one BnaC.ARF10 locus, suggesting that regulatory changes in Bna.ARF10 are collectively responsible for the observed phenotpyes in 1012-98. To our knowledge, this study is the first to report disruption of germination and seedling development in Brassica napus caused by the crosstalk of auxin-ABA and the corresponding regulators Bna.ARF10 and Bna.GH3.5.

Abstract:Effects of exogenous gibberellin(GA3),auxin(IAA)and brassinosteroids(BRs) application on early seedling growth of a Brassica napus dwarf mutant,namely 'DDF-1',was studied.The results showed that proper exogenous GA3(7 mg/L)applied could partially rescued the hypocotyl elongation of the dwarf,but no significant differences made by IAA and BRs at any levels of application.Furthermore,no interaction effects of GA3,IAA and BR on the elongation of the seedling hypocotyl were detected by orthogonal test of these hormones.Vertical section of hypocotyls of the dwarf indicated a reduction for the cell length in comparison with the wild type,which may lead to the shorter hypocotyl of the mutant.Endogenous GA3 content, determined by ELISA(enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay),showed higher in the dwarf than that in the wild type,and lower than that in the exogenous GA3 treated dwarf hypocotyl.The hypothesis,suggesting that the dwarf mutant was GA insensitive and controlled by mutated gene(s) in gibberellins biosynthesis pathway,was discussed.
