Abstract:In this paper, a class of first-order partial difference equations with general delay controllers x(n+1,m)=f(x(n,m),x(n,m+1))+αg(βx(n-ℓ,m))documentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$x(n+1,m) = f(x(n,m),x(n,m+1)) + alpha g(eta x(n-ell ,m))$$end{document}, m=0,1,⋯,kdocumentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$m=0,1,cdots , k$$end{document}, is considered. This equation is equivalent to a (k+1)(ℓ+1)documentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$(k+1)(ell +1)$$end{document}-dimensional system. To pursue the existence of chaos, the equation is investigated in the cases of |β|>1documentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$|eta |>1$$end{document}, |β|=1documentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$|eta |=1$$end{document}, 0<|β|<1documentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$0<|eta |<1$$end{document}, and in each case, there are five subcases according to different values of ℓdocumentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$ell $$end{document} and k, respectively. The equation is proved to be chaotic in all the cases, respectively, under some weak conditions. To illustrative the theoretical results, three examples are provided.
