Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following non-linear system involving the fractional Laplacian 0.1 in two different types of domains, one is bounded, and the other is an infinite cylinder, where . We employ the direct sliding method for fractional Laplacian, different from the conventional extension and moving planes methods, to derive the monotonicity of solutions for (0.1) in variable. Meanwhile, we develop a new iteration method for systems in the proofs. Hopefully, the iteration method can also be applied to solve other problems.

Abstract:This paper works on the direct method of moving spheres and establishes a Liouville-type theorem for the fractional elliptic equation \[ (-\Delta)^{\alpha/2} u =f(u) ~~~~~~ \text{in } \mathbb{R}^{n} \] with general non-linearity. One of the key improvement over the previous work is that we do not require the usual Lipschitz condition. In fact, we only assume the structural condition that $f(t) t^{- \frac{n+\alpha}{n-\alpha}}$ is monotonically decreasing. This differs from the usual approach such as Chen-Li-Li (Adv. Math. 2017), which needed the Lipschitz condition on $f$, or Chen-Li-Zhang (J. Funct. Anal. 2017), which relied on both the structural condition and the monotonicity of $f$. We also use the direct moving spheres method to give an alternative proof for the Liouville-type theorem of the fractional Lane-Emden equation in a half space. Similarly, our proof does not depend on the integral representation of solutions compared to existing ones. The methods developed here should also apply to problems involving more general non-local operators, especially if no equivalent integral equations exist.

Abstract:Let $s \in (0,1)$ and $N >2s$. In this paper, we consider the following class of nonlocal semipositone problems: \begin{align*} (-\Delta)^s u= g(x)f_a(u) \text { in } \mathbb{R}^N, \; u > 0 \text{ in } \mathbb{R}^N, \end{align*} where the weight $g \in L^1(\mathbb{R}^N) \cap L^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^N)$ is positive, $a>0$ is a parameter, and $f_a \in \mathcal{C}(\mathbb{R})$ is strictly negative on $(-\infty,0]$. For $f_a$ having subcritical growth and weaker Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz type nonlinearity, we prove that the above problem admits a mountain pass solution $u_a$, provided `$a$' is near zero. To obtain the positivity of $u_a$, we establish a Brezis-Kato type uniform estimate of $(u_a)$ in $L^r(\mathbb{R}^N)$ for every $r \in [\frac{2N}{N-2s}, \infty]$.

Abstract:The existence of a solution to the parabolic system with the fractional Laplacian (−Δ) α /2 , α > 0 is proven, this solution decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. As an application, the existence of a solution to the generalized Navier-Stokes equations is proven, which decays at different rates along different time sequences going to infinity. The generalized Navier-Stokes equations are the equations resulting from replacing −Δ in the Navier-Stokes equations by (−Δ) m , m > 0. At last, a similar result for 3-D incompressible anisotropic Navier-Stokes system is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we study singular solutions of linear problems with fractional Laplacian. First, we establish Bôcher type theorems on a punctured ball via distributional approach. Then, we develop a few interesting maximum principles on a punctured ball. Our distributional approach only requires the basic local L-1 integrability. We also introduce several simple and useful lemmas, which enable us to unify the treatments for both Laplacian and fractional Laplacian. These theorems, lemmas and the methods introduced here can be adapted and applied in other situations.

Abstract:In this paper, we study Dirichlet problems of fractional Laplace (Poisson) equations on a general bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^n$. Green's functions and Poisson kernels are important tools needed in our study. We first establish the existence of Green's function by an application of Perron's method. After that, the Poisson kernel is constructed based on the Green's function. Several important properties of Green's functions and Poisson kernels are proved. Finally, we show that the solution of a fractional Laplace (Poisson) equation under a given condition must be unique and be given by our Green's function and Poisson kernel.

In the half space, we establish a Liouville type theorem without any assumption of integrability by combining the direct method of moving planes and moving spheres, which improves the result proved by W. Dai, Z. Liu, and G. Lu ("Liouville type theorems for PDE and IE systems involving fractional Laplacian on a half space," Potential Anal. , vol. 46, pp. 569â€“588, 2017).

Abstract:Abstract We are devoted to the study of a semilinear time fractional Rayleigh-Stokes problem on R N , which is derived from a non-Newtonain fluid for a generalized second grade fluid with Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative. We show that a solution operator involving the Laplacian operator is very effective to discuss the proposed problem. In this paper, we are concerned with the global/local well-posedness of the problem, the approaches rely on the Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities, operator theory, standard fixed point technique and harmonic analysis methods. We also present several results on the continuation, a blow-up alternative with a blow-up rate and the integrability in Lebesgue spaces.

Abstract:We first formulate an inverse problem for a linear fractional Lamé system. We determine the Lamé parameters from exterior partial measurements of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. We further study an inverse obstacle problem as well as an inverse problem for a nonlinear fractional Lamé system. Our arguments are based on the unique continuation property for the fractional operator as well as the associated Runge approximation property.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the fractional Henon equation with disturbance. Instead of using the conventional extension method of Caffarelli and Silvestre or the method of moving planes in integral forms, we employ a new method to consider the symmetry of the positive solution in the whole space Er and the upper half space R-+(n) respectively. We show that the positive solution is radial symmetric about origin both in the subcritical case and in the critical case. Furthermore, we establish the corresponding Liouville-type theorem in the upper half space R-+(n). We also obtain the symmetry of positive solutions both in the critical case and in the subcritical case in the upper half space R-+(n).

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the obstacle problem for the fractional Laplace operator $(-\Delta)^s$ in the Euclidian space $\mathbb{R}^n$ in the case where $1<s<2$. As first observed in \cite{Y}, the problem can be extended to the upper half-space $\mathbb{R}_+^{n+1}$ to obtain a thin obstacle problem for the weighted biLaplace operator $\Delta^2_b U$, where $\Delta_b U=y^{-b}\nabla \cdot (y^b \nabla U)$. Such a problem arises in connection with unilateral phenomena for elastic, homogenous, and isotropic flat plates. We establish the well-posedness and $C_{loc}^{1,1}(\R^n) \cap H^{1+s}(\R^n)$-regularity of the solution. By writing the solutions in terms of Riesz potentials of suitable local measures, we can base our proofs on tools from potential theory, such as a continuity principle and a maximum principle. Finally, we deduce the regularity of the extension problem to the higher dimensional upper half space. This gives an extension of Schild's work in \cite{Sc1} and \cite{Sc2} from the case $b=0$ to the general case $-1<b<1$.

Abstract:We consider the fractional elliptic problem with Dirichlet boundary conditions on a bounded and convex domain $D$ of $\mathbb{R}^d$, with $d \geq 2$. In this paper, we perform a stochastic gradient descent algorithm that approximates the solution of the fractional problem via Deep Neural Networks. Additionally, we provide four numerical examples to test the efficiency of the algorithm, and each example will be studied for many values of $\alpha \in (1,2)$ and $d \geq 2$.

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to address some questions concerning boundary value problems related to the Laplacian and bi-Laplacian operators, set in the framework of classical $H^s$ Sobolev spaces on a bounded Lipschitz domain of R^N. These questions are not new and a lot of work has been done in this direction by many authors using various techniques since the 80's. If for regular domains almost every thing is elucidated, it is not the case for Lipschitz ones and for $s$ of the form $s = k + 1/2$, with $k$ integer. It is well known that this framework is delicate. Even in these cases many results are well established but sometimes not satisfactory. Several questions remain posed. Our main goal through this work is on one hand to give some improvements to the theory and on another one by using techniques which do not require too intricate calculations. We also tried to obtain maximal regularity for the solutions and as far as we can optimality of the results.
