Abstract:We analyze fault behaviors of intemal feedback bridging faults by using a simple circuit model consisting of 2-input NAND gate and NOT gate. From analysis results we find that they are more complex than those associated with extemal feedback bridging faults. We expose that they cause intemal oscillation and IDDQ-only failure as well as latch and oscillation behavior. We also discuss methods for detecting this kind of fault.
Comparison of bevacizumab, ranibizumab and aflibercept in retinopathy of prematurity treatment

Abstract:PurposeTo compare the efficacy and refractive outcomes of intravitreal bevacizumab, ranibizumab and aflibercept in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) treatment.MethodsWe analyzed the files of patients treated with intravitreal bevacizumab, ranibizumab and aflibercept for ROP, retrospectively. A total of 187 eyes of 111 patients were included. Recurrence time after initial treatment, recurrence rate, age and rate of additional treatment, refractive outcomes in age 1, 2 and 3 were evaluated and compared between the groups.ResultsFifty-four eyes of 30 patients formed bevacizumab group (Group-1), 77 eyes of 47 patients formed ranibizumab group (Group-2) and 56 eyes of 34 patients formed aflibercept group (Group-3). No significant difference was found in gender, gestational age, birth weight and risk factors between the groups (p>0.05). Success rate was higher in group 3, but the difference was not significant (p = 0.174) (74.1% in group-1, 62.4% in group-2 and 76.8% in group-3). Recurrence rate was higher in group 2, but the difference was not significant (p = 0.158) (25.9% in group-1, 37.6% in group-2 and 23.2% in group-3). Recurrence time after initial treatment was significantly shorter in group 2 (p < 0.01). Additional treatment rate was also higher, and the age of additional treatment was lower in group-2 (p < 0.05 and p < 0.01, respectively). We found refractive values more myopic in ages of 1, 2 and 3 in group 1.ConclusionsBevacizumab, ranibizumab and aflibercept are effective treatment alternatives for ROP. We observed more frequent and much earlier recurrence in eyes treated with ranibizumab. A myopic shift was found in bevacizumab group. We also emphasize the necessity of longer follow-ups for infants treated with anti-VEGF drugs.

Abstract:Purpose To compare the efficacy, recurrence rate, and recurrence interval of intravitreal injection of aflibercept (IVA) and ranibizumab (IVR) in patients with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Methods This is a single-center retrospective study of neonates hospitalized from January 2018 to March 2023 in the Department of Neonatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University who received intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor owing to type 1 prethreshold ROP, threshold ROP, or aggressive posterior ROP. Clinical data were collected to record the cure, recurrence, number of injections, and side effects of ROP. Findings A total of 224 neonates (444 eyes) were enrolled in this study, of which 121 (241 eyes) received IVA and 103 (203 eyes) received IVR. There were no significant differences in the general characteristics of infants between the two groups ( P > 0.05). The corrected gestational age of the first injection was 37.27 ± 3.07 weeks in the IVA group and 37.20 ± 4.89 weeks in the IVR group ( P = 0.582). The recurrence rate was 15.8% in the IVA group and 14.9% in the IVR group ( P = 0.841). For relapsed infants, the postmenstrual age (PMA) was 34.89 ± 3.49 weeks in the IVA group and 35.28 ± 4.43 weeks in the IVR group at the first treatment. The PMA was 43.69 ± 4.57 and 40.96 ± 4.98 weeks at the second treatment in the IVA and IVR groups, respectively ( P = 0.185). There were two children in the IVA group that required a third treatment, with PMAs of 58.71 and 57.29 weeks at the time of surgery, and one child in the IVR group, with a PMA of 43.14 weeks at the time of injection ( P = 0.221). No complications were recorded in either group. Implications The efficacies of aflibercept and ranibizumab in treating ROP are similar, and the safety of the medications was good. Further research should be conducted in large-scale, prospective clinical trials, providing ophthalmologists with new options for the treatment of ROP.

Neurodevelopmental Outcomes for Retinopathy of Prematurity: A Nationwide Database Study

Abstract:Purpose To evaluate the neurodevelopmental outcomes in premature infants who received intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) injections to treat retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Design A retrospective cohort study. Methods This study was conducted using the database from the Taiwan Premature Infant Follow-up Network. Demographic data, systemic risk factors, ROP status, and neurodevelopmental assessment using the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, Third Edition (Bayley-III) were collected. Patients were divided into 4 groups: prematurity without ROP, ROP without treatment, ROP with laser treatment, and ROP with intravitreal anti-VEGF treatment. Generalized estimating equation was used for analyzing repeated measurements of Bayley-III at corrected ages of 6, 12, and 24 months. Results 2090 patients with a mean gestational age of 31.2 weeks were included. The Bayley-III composite scores of patients with ROP treated with anti-VEGF were comparable to those of patients with ROP without treatment (cognitive: P = 0.491; language: P = 0.201; motor: P = 0.151) and premature patients without ROP (cognitive: P = 0.985; language: P = 0.452; motor: P = 0.169) after adjusting for confounders. Patients with ROP treated with laser photocoagulation exhibited poorer cognitive composite scores than did those without treatment ( P < 0.001), premature patients without ROP ( P < 0.001), and those treated with anti-VEGF ( P < 0.001), but they had similar language and motor composite scores. Conclusions Intravitreal anti-VEGF treatment for ROP was not associated with adverse neurodevelopment in premature infants. Further studies are needed to determine whether general anesthesia or sedation used in laser treatment for ROP has significant impacts on neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Abstract:The new tetradentate ligand 1,4-bis(5 H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-yl)-1,4-diazabuta-1,3-diene ((H)tropdad) allows the syntheses of the 16-electron cationic rhodium complexes [M((H)tropdad)](O(3)SCF(3)) (M=Rh, Ir). The structure of the rhodium complex was determined by X-ray analysis and points to a description of these as [M(+1)((H)tropdad)(0)] with short Cd-N bonds (av 1.285 A) and a long C-C bond (1.46 A) in the diazabutadiene (dad) moiety, that is the M-->dad charge-transfer is negligible. Both [Rh((H)tropdad)](+) and [Ir((H)tropdad)](+) are reduced at very low potentials (E(1) (1/2)= -0.56 V and E(1) (1/2)=-0.35 V, respectively) which allowed the quantitative synthesis of the neutral paramagnetic complexes [M((H)tropdad)](0) (M=Rh, Ir) by reacting the cationic precursor complexes simply with zinc powder. The [M((H)tropdad)](0) complexes are stable against protic reagents in organic solvents. Continuous wave and pulse EPR spectroscopy was used to characterize the paramagnetic species and the hyperfine coupling constants were determined: [Rh((H)tropdad)](0): A(iso)((14)N)=11.9 MHz, A(iso)((1)H)=14.3 MHz, A(iso)((103)Rh)= -5.3 MHz; [Ir((H)tropdad)](0): A(iso)((14)N)=11.9 MHz, A(iso)((1)H)=14.3 MHz. In combination with DFT calculations, the experimentally determined g and hyperfine matrices could be orientated within the molecular frame and the dominant spin density contributions were determined. These results clearly show that the complexes [M((H)tropdad)](0) are best described as [M(+1)((H)tropdad)(.-)] with a [16+1] electron configuration.
Comparison of long-term treatment outcomes of laser and anti-VEGF therapy in retinopathy of prematurity: a multicentre study from J-CREST group

Abstract:Objectives: To compare real-world, long-term outcomes of laser and anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies in patients with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Methods: This was a multicentre retrospective study. We included 264 eyes of 139 patients treated for type 1 ROP or aggressive ROP (AROP) who were followed for at least 4 years. Laser treatment was initially performed in 187 eyes (the laser group), and anti-VEGF therapy was initially performed in 77 eyes (the anti-VEGF group). We collected data on sex, birth characteristics, zone, stage, and the presence of plus disease at the time of treatment and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), spherical equivalent (SE), and ocular complications (amblyopia and strabismus) in patients aged 4-6 years. We investigated the associations between treatment outcomes (BCVA, SE and the presence of amblyopia and strabismus) and influencing factors, including treatment procedure (anti-VEGF or laser therapy), sex, birth characteristics, zone, stage, and the presence of plus disease, using multivariable analysis and logistic regression analyses. Results: The initial treatment procedure was not associated with any specific treatment outcome. Subgroup analysis of patients with zone I ROP revealed that the anti-VEGF-treated eyes had significantly better BCVA and higher SE than laser-treated eyes (p = 0.004, p = 0.009, respectively). Female patients presented significantly better BCVA, less amblyopia and less strabismus than male patients (p < 0.001, p = 0.029, p = 0.008, respectively). Conclusions: In zone I ROP, anti-VEGF therapy led to better visual acuity and less myopic refractive error than laser treatment.

Abstract:European Journal of Ophthalmology, Ahead of Print. PurposeThis study was carried out to investigate the effects of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and intravitreal antivascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections on the corneal endothelium in the childhood period of patients who have had ROP.MethodsThe material of comparative case-control clinical study consisted of patients followed up with ROP between February 2013 and February 2023. The eyes in the study group were divided into two subgroups consisting of those who received intravitreal anti-VEGF injections (subgroup 1) and those who were followed up only (subgroup 2). Central corneal endothelial cell density (ECD), coefficient of variation (CV), central corneal thickness (CCT), and pleomorphism parameters in the childhood period were evaluated by corneal specular microscopy and compared with age-matched healthy control subjects.ResultsThere were 84 eyes of 42 patients with ROP in the study group and 80 eyes of 40 healthy children in the control group. Mean CCT was significantly higher in subgroup 1 and the control group than in subgroup 2 (p = 0.037), and mean ECD was significantly higher in subgroup 2 than in subgroup 1 and the control group (p < 0.001). There was no significant difference between subgroup 1 and the control group in mean ECD and CCT values (p = 1.000 for both cases).ConclusionsConsidering that ROP patients who received intravitreal anti-VEGF injections had more advanced-stage ROP than ROP patients who were followed up only, these findings suggest that intravitreal anti-VEGF applications in ROP cases may lead to corneal endothelial parameters similar to those of healthy eyes.

Abstract:Purpose:To compare the efficacies and treatment outcomes of intravitreal anti-VEGF agents and laser therapy in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).Methods:A retrospective, non-randomized, comparative study of patients diagnosed with type 1 ROP or aggressive posterior ROP (A-ROP) treated with intravitreal anti-VEGF agents or laser therapy as primary treatment at the People's Hospital of Peking University.Results:A total of 1,627 eyes of 862 patients were included. In Group 1, 399 eyes of 204 patients were diagnosed with A-ROP or zone I type 1 ROP. The initial regression of the anti-VEGF subgroup was better than that of the laser subgroup, and the reactivation rate and rate of progression to retinal detachment were lower than those of the laser subgroup. In Group 2, 1,228 eyes of 658 patients were diagnosed with zone II type 1 ROP. The reactivation rate of the laser subgroup was lower than that of the anti-VEGF subgroup. No significant differences were found in the initial regression and the probability of developing retinal detachment. Among the anti-VEGF agents, the reactivation rate in eyes treated with conbercept was much lower than that in eyes treated with ranibizumab. The spherical power and spherical equivalents of eyes treated with laser were significantly higher than those of eyes treated with anti-VEGF agents 1 year after initial treatment.Conclusions:In contrast to laser therapy, anti-VEGF agents as primary treatments have potential advantages for eyes with zone I type 1 ROP and A-ROP. For eyes with zone II type 1 ROP, laser photocoagulation and anti-VEGF agents therapy showed similar efficacy; however, the rate of reactivation with laser therapy was significantly lower than that with anti-VEGF agents. Among the anti-VEGF agents, the reactivation rate was much lower in eyes treated with conbercept than in eyes treated with ranibizumab. Compared to anti-VEGF agents, laser treated eyes had greater trend to myopia.

Abstract:Purpose: To evaluate the outcome and ocular adverse events of bedside bilateral sequential intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor injections for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) (BBSIR). Methods: This retrospective interventional study included infants who received BBSIR with a follow-up of at least 1 month. Clinical history, intravitreal injection details, indications, intraoperative and postoperative ocular adverse events, and outcomes were analyzed. Results: The study cohort included 192 babies (384 eyes) spread over 9 years. The mean gestational age was 30.2 ± 2.6 weeks (28.8-34.1), and the birth weight was 1098.11 ± 271.65 g (650-2000). The indications for BBSIR were as follows: 73.4% (n = 141 infants) were too sick to transfer to an ophthalmic unit, 10.9% (n = 21 infants) due to the parents' inconvenience of traveling to the ophthalmic center, and 15. 6% (n = 30 infants) due to both reasons. The injections were given by an ROP specialist/ROP-trained ophthalmologist after due parental consent, considering each eye as a fresh eye with separate scrubbing and draping. Light from the head-worn indirect ophthalmoscope served as the source of illumination. The retinopathy was regressing/regressed in 92.4% of babies until the last follow-up. The major ocular complication was cataract in 2 eyes (0.5%). There was no incidence of endophthalmitis till last follow-up (median 5.7 months). Conclusions: As per this study, BBSIR was observed to be effective and safe if given by those fully trained in the management of ROP. Though the rate of complications like cataract is small, they can pose management challenges and impact vision in a growing child.
Ocular complications following intravitreal bevacizumab injection for retinopathy of prematurity and assessment of risk factors

Abstract:Abstract Purpose Laser ablation of the avascular peripheral retina has been the standard method of ROP treatment. Intravitreal anti-VEGF is useful in the management of ROP patients, especially for aggressive posterior ROP. However, ocular and systemic complication after intravitreal bevacizumab was the main concern. This study aimed to investigate the treatment-related ocular and systemic complications of intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB) in patients with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Method This retrospective study included neonates receiving intravitreal injections of bevacizumab (IVB) (0.625 mg) to treat ROP. Medical records of the patients were evaluated about the ocular complications after receiving IVB from 2012 to 2019. Treatment-related complications (vitreous hemorrhage, glaucoma, cataract, hyphema, corneal abrasion/opacity, and endophthalmitis), and disease-progression signs including retinal fold or stage 4 or 5 detachment were documented. Any reports of systemic events after injections were also recorded. Result Mean gestational age and birth weight of 441 patients receiving IVB for type-1 ROP were 28 ± 2 (22–34 weeks) and 1121 ± 312 (550–2700 g), respectively. The median follow-up after treatment in all patients and patients with complications was 289.43 ± 257 days (5–1899 days) and 385.89 ± 311.59 (196–1192) days, respectively. Out of 865 eyes, 20 eyes (2.31%, 95% Clopper-Pearson Confidence Interval: 1.14–3.54%) have been affected by ocular complications. The rates of different complications included progression of retinopathy in 17 eyes (1.96%), cataracts in 2 eyes (0.23%), and vitreous hemorrhage in one eye (0.11%). No cases of endophthalmitis, thromboembolic events, or death occurred in this study. We evaluated the prevalence ratio (PR) on the multiple risk factors to determine the prediction of the complications. The existence of neovascularization of iris has the highest susceptibility to predict the complication (PR = 5.091, P-value 0.014) following by the presence of retinopathy in zone 1 of the infant’s retina (PR = 4.386, P-value = 0.010). Conclusion The incidence rate of complications related to Intravitreal bevacizumab injection was low, which was compatible with previous studies. Bevacizumab injection seems well tolerated in most cases of ROP. Iris neovascularization and the presence of retinopathy in zone 1 were associated with a higher occurrence of complications than the absence of these risk factors.
Clinical Risk Factors for Retinopathy of Prematurity Reactivation after Intravitreal Anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Injection

Abstract:Objective To assess the rate and risk factors for reactivation of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) after intravitreal injection (IVI) of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) agents. Study design Infants who received IVI therapy between 2017 and 2022 were enrolled and divided into two groups: those with and without ROP reactivation. Information on ROP variables and patient variables were analyzed using multivariable logistic regression. Results A total of 114 infants with 223 eyes were enrolled in the study. The ROP reactivation rate was 11.4% of infants (9.9% of eyes). The mean duration of reactivation was 84 ± 45 days. Among the 223 eyes treated with IVI, reactivation rates were 6% for bevacizumab, 13.9% for aflibercept, and 22.2% for ranibizumab. A multivariable regression model showed that ranibizumab was an independent risk factor (OR: 11.4, p =0.008) for reactivation. Other risk factors included infants with periventricular leukomalacia (OR: 13.8, p =0.003), patent ductus arteriosus ligation (OR: 10.7, p =0.032), and infants who still required invasive mechanical ventilation on the day of IVI therapy (OR: 7.0, p =0.018). Conclusions All anti-VEGF agents carry a risk of ROP reactivation, with the risk being higher with ranibizumab 0.25 mg than with bevacizumab 0.625 mg. Reactivation of ROP should be assessed vigilantly, especially in those infants with increased risks. Future research to determine the optimal anti-VEGF selection and dosage in high-risk infants is warranted.

Foveal Structure Changes in Infants Treated with Anti-Vegf Therapy or Laser Therapy Guided by Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography for Retinopathy of Prematurity.

Abstract:AIM:To evaluate foveal vessel density (VD) and foveal thickness using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) children treated with laser photocoagulation or anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injection. Additionally, we assessed the relationship between foveal microvascular anomalies and different therapies in ROP children.METHODS:This was a single-center, retrospective study of patients with a diagnosis of type 1 ROP. Twenty-three eyes (14 patients) treated with anti-VEGF injection and twenty-nine eyes (17 patients) treated with laser coagulation were included in this study. The foveal VD, inner thickness and full thickness were measured at the central 0°, 2° to 8°, and 8° of the retina (centered on the fovea) using OCTA and cross-sectional OCT, respectively.RESULTS:Foveal VD, inner thickness and full thickness were significantly smaller within the central 8° of the retina in ROP children treated with anti-VEGF injection than in those treated with laser photocoagulation (P=0.013, 0.009, 0.036, respectively). The full thickness was also smaller in the anti-VEGF group than in the laser group at the central 0° of the retina (P=0.010). The grade of foveal hypoplasia is lower in the anti-VEGF group than in the laser group (P=0.045). Multivariable analysis did not find any risk factors associated with visual acuity in our study.CONCLUSION:In children with type 1 ROP, the better structural development of fovea in those who were treated with anti-VEGF injection compared with laser photocoagulation are identified. However, visual acuity outcomes are similar 70mo after the treatments.

Abstract:In the expert consensus published by the Pediatrics in 2013,it was first proposed that anti-VEGF drugs can be considered for retinopathy ofprematurity (ROP) with stage 3,zone Ⅰ with plus disease.However,there are many problems worth the attention of ophthalmologists,including the advantages and disadvantages of anti-VEGF therapy compared with traditional laser therapy,systemic and ocular complications after anti-VEGF therapy,and what indicators are the end points of anti-VEGF therapy.Combined with this consensus and numerous research findings,we recommend that the first treatment for anti-VEGF or laser therapy should be considered from disease control effects.For the threshold and pre-threshold lesions,the effect of anti-VEGF therapy for zone Ⅱ lesions is better than that for zone Ⅰ lesions and the single-time effective rate is high.So,it is suggested that anti-VEGF therapy should be preferred for the first treatment.The choice of repeat treatment should be considered from the final retinal structure and functional prognosis.Laser therapy is advisable for the abnormal vascular regression slower and abnormalities in the posterior pole.It can reduce the number of reexaminations and prolong the interval between re-examinations.However,the premature use of laser has an inevitable effect on peripheral vision field.Excluding the above problems,supplemental therapy can still choose anti-VEGF therapy again.Most of the children with twice anti-VEGF therapy are sufficient to control the disease.Anti-VEGF therapy should be terminated when there are signs such as plus regression,threshold or pre-threshold lesions controlled without recurrence,peripheral vascularization,etc.
Efficacy Comparison of Anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Drugs for the Treatment of Type 1 Retinopathy of Prematurity: A Network Meta-Analysis of Randomised Controlled Trials.

Abstract:PURPOSE:To compare the efficacy of different anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) agents for the treatment of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in preterm infants.METHODS:Seven databases were searched for eligible literature up to February 22, 2023. Studies were included if they were randomised controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the efficacy of anti-VEGF agents for ROP in infants. A network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed. We also conducted subgroup analyses to determine the efficacy ranking of regimens used in different regions. The odds ratio (OR), standardised mean difference (SMD), and surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) were calculated for each outcome.RESULTS:Thirteen RCTs of 10 different regimens, involving 1196 infants (2388 eyes), were identified. Bevacizumab (0.625 mg; OR = 0.16, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.06-0.40, SUCRA = 80.6%) and conbercept (0.15 mg; OR = 0.08, 95% CI 0.02-0.30, SUCRA = 96.0%) were the most effective regimens in reducing the risk of ROP recurrence requiring retreatment in Western countries and China, respectively. Compared with laser therapy, bevacizumab (0.625 mg; SMD = 1.54, 95% CI 0.06-3.02) achieved significantly longer intervals between treatment and recurrence. No significant difference in the risk of retinal detachment was detected between any anti-VEGF agent and laser (p > 0.05).CONCLUSIONS:Bevacizumab (0.625 mg) and conbercept (0.15 mg) appeared to be the most effective therapies for ROP in Western countries and China, respectively. More high-quality RCTs are warranted to evaluate the efficacy and long-term safety of anti-VEGF drugs for the management of ROP.
Preferred Treatment Patterns of Retinopathy of Prematurity: An International Survey

Abstract:This paper assesses the preferred treatment patterns for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and examine trends in anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) use for ROP. Methods: A retrospective survey consisting of 14 questions was distributed to paediatric ophthalmology interest groups internationally. Main outcome measures included treatment patterns, proportion of anti-VEGF use in different stages of ROP; and comparison of first-line treatments as well as repeat anti-VEGF treatments. Results: Fifty-four ophthalmologists from 11 different countries responded to the survey. The number of respondents per question, except one, ranged between 50-54. Per annum, there was an average number of 394 infants screened by each respondent. Anti-VEGF was the preferred treatment method for aggressive (A)-ROP (64.1%), Type 1 ROP in zone 1 (71.7%), and Type 1 ROP in posterior zone 2 (56.6%). The majority used laser as the first-line treatment of Type 1 ROP in anterior zone 2 (73.6%) and Type 1 ROP in zone 3 (79.2%). Laser was the preferred treatment modality utilised in infants requiring repeat treatment following anti-VEGF injection. The preferred anti-VEGF agent was bevacizumab administered at a dose of 0.625 mg. Conclusions: Anti-VEGF as first-line therapy has been increasing. Anti-VEGF appears to be the first-line treatment of choice for A-ROP, Type 1 ROP in zone 1 and posterior zone 2 and laser for Type 1 ROP in anterior zone 2 and zone 3.

Abstract:Laser photocoagulation (LPC) and/or intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) injections constitute the current standard treatment for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). This network meta-analysis focus on whether a ranking of interventions may be established for different dose levels of intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF agents (aflibercept, bevacizumab, conbercept, ranibizumab) as primary treatments for ROP versus laser in terms of retreatment rate as primary outcome, and time to retreatment and refractive error as secondary endpoints, since best anti-VEGF dosage remains under debate. Sixty-eight studies (15 randomized control trials and 53 nonrandomized studies) of 12,356 eyes of 6,445 infants were retrieved from databases (2005 Jan. – 2023 June). Studies were evaluated for model fit, risk of bias and confidence of evidence in Network Meta-Analysis (CINeMA). Bayesian NMA showed that anti-VEGF drugs were not inferior to laser in terms of retreatment rate. For intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB), doses half of the conventional infant dose showed a low risk of retreatment rate (risk ratio (RR) of 1.43; 95% credible interval (CrI): 0.508, 4.03). On probability ranking as surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) plot, half dose of bevacizumab had a better position than conventional and augmented (1.2-2 times the regular dose) doses. A similar probability trend was observed for half vs. conventional doses of aflibercept and ranibizumab. Conventional infant dose of conbercept showed the lowest risk for retreatment (RR 0.846; 95% CrI: 0.245, 2.91). For secondary endpoints, lower doses of anti-VEGF agents were associated with shorter times to retreatment. The largest changes were noted for the augmented doses of bevacizumab and ranibizumab (0.3 mg) with means of 14.1 weeks (95% CrI: 6.65, 21.6) and 12.8 weeks (95% CrI: 3.19, 20.9), respectively. Finally, NMA demonstrated better refractive profile for anti-VEGF than laser therapy, especially for the conventional infant doses of bevacizumab and ranibizumab which exhibited a significantly better refractive profile than LPC, with mean differences of 1.67 (spherical equivalent - diopters) (95% CrI: 0.705, 2.67) and 2.19 (95% CrI: 0.782, 3.59), respectively. In the SUCRA plots, LPC had a markedly different position with a higher probability for myopia. Further clinical trials comparing different intravitreal doses of anti-VEGF agents are needed, but our findings suggest that low doses of these drugs retain efficacy and may reduce ocular and systemic undesired events.
