Abstract:The Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard (2022 Edition) proposes that the junior high school mathematics curriculum should cultivate students' mathematical application consciousness literacy in China. The classroom is the main position for students to learn mathematical knowledge, so how to better implement the cultivation of junior high school students' mathematical application consciousness literacy in classroom teaching is a key issue we need to study. This paper adopts the method of theoretical research. The first part explains the research questions. The second part analyzes the characteristics based on the connotation and requirements of application consciousness literacy. The third part analyzes the current situation of junior high school mathematics teaching. The fourth part puts forward the following training strategies to promote the implementation of application consciousness literacy: 1. Adopting a rich variety of teaching methods to stimulate the students' interest in learning; 2. Tapping into the connection between mathematical knowledge and real life to cultivate the students' mathematical vision; 3. Implementing interdisciplinary teaching to establish the connection between different disciplines; 4. Creating practical situations to enable students to form a learning style that combines theory and practice. The fifth part summarizes the full text.

Abstract:Metacognitive strategies, as an educational method that focuses on the metacognitive knowledge and skills of learners' thinking and learning process, have attracted widespread attention in the field of high school mathematics teaching in recent years. This article aims to analyze the effective application of metacognitive strategies in high school mathematics teaching, and deeply explore their role in improving students' mathematical learning achievements and developing mathematical thinking abilities. Firstly, this article provides an overview of the current situation and problems in high school mathematics teaching, including the difficulty of teachers' teaching concepts keeping up with the times, the lack of novelty in teaching methods, and the solidification of students' thinking. Then, the article pointed out the importance of metacognitive strategies for mathematical learning and introduced the basic overview and classification of metacognitive strategies. Next, this article explores in detail how metacognitive strategies can be applied to high school mathematics teaching, including carefully preparing teaching based on metacognition and finding the best teaching methods, guiding students to reflect through metacognitive monitoring, and improving teaching evaluation systems based on metacognition. The effective application of these strategies helps students better understand mathematical concepts, improve problem-solving abilities, and enhance mathematical confidence.

Abstract:Currently, mathematical abstract literacy has attracted extensive attention from all walks of life. Many relevant problems about it have been studied except the cognition of implementing mathematical abstract literacy of pre-service high school mathematics teachers. To address this gap, this study investigates 51 pre-service high school mathematics teachers through open-ended interviews in order to learn about the cognitive situation of pre-service high school mathematics teachers for implementing mathematical abstract literacy. After analyzing, it can be found that about implementing mathematical abstract literacy: 1. Pre-service high school mathematics teachers do not have a comprehensive cognition; their cognition, both overall and in different dimensions, is not half of the number of recommendations for implementation made by previous authors, and the subjects they realize for implementation are limited to both teachers and students. 2. Pre-service high school mathematics teachers do not have a very reasonable cognition; there is a certain one-sidedness, and some of the ideas lack feasibility or effectiveness, which need to be further explored and considered. Therefore, it is suggested that: 1. Experts and teachers who are responsible for educating teachers should increase emphasis on mathematical abstraction literacy and provide pre-service teachers with more opportunities to practice teaching. 2. Pre-service teachers should take the initiative to study and research, focus on combining theory and practice, and continuously reflect, adjust and improve.

Abstract:Currently, geometric intuition literacy has attracted extensive attention from all walks of life. Many relevant problems about it have been studied except the cognitive degree of geometric intuition literacy of pre-service junior high school mathematics teachers. In this study, 40 pre-service junior high school mathematics teachers in China are surveyed using an open-ended interview method. The analysis of the data reveals that: (1) The accuracy of the cognition about geometric intuition literacy is not high. (2) The cognitive scope of pre-service high school mathematics teachers about geometric intuition literacy is not extensive and pre-service teachers' knowledge of geometric intuition literacy is focused on the more generalized elements. (3) The cognition of many pre-service teachers is not deep or comprehensive and concentrates at a lower level. (4) The cognition of many pre-service teachers for many aspects of geometric intuition literacy is not very clear. Therefore, it is suggested that: Teacher training schools should reform their curricula and pay attention to teacher trainees' learning and education on geometric intuition literacy. Special training and education on core literacy should be strengthened in pre-service teacher training so that geometric intuition literacy can be valued. Pre-service junior high school mathematics teachers should actively learn and study core literacy to improve their understanding of geometric intuition literacy.

Abstract:<p>This paper describes theoretical design principles emerging from the development of tasks for standard undergraduate mathematics courses that address applications to teaching secondary mathematics. While researchers recognize that mathematical knowledge for teaching is a form of applied mathematics, applications to teaching remain largely absent from curriculum resources for courses for mathematics majors. We developed various materials that contain applications to teaching that have been integrated into four standard undergraduate mathematics courses. Three primary principles influenced the design of the tasks that prepare future teachers to learn and apply mathematics in a manner central to their future work. Additionally, this paper provides guidance for instructors desiring to develop or implement similar applications. The process of developing these tasks underscores the importance of key features regarding the roles of human beings in the tasks, the intentional focus on advanced content connected to school mathematics, and the integration of active engagement strategies.</p>

Abstract:Due to the shift of civilization from the Industrial Age to the Information Age, mathematical literacy has become a necessity in the twenty-first century. However, in order to learn and contribute to the mathematical community, one has to be in a state of good mental health. When I say 'good mental health,' I mean one has to develop a set of healthy coping strategies, be in a positive learning environment, and have a social support system. Traditionally, universities have been the venue of such higher learning. If these institutions want to remain as thriving grounds for higher education and engines of research, post-secondary institutions need to be aware of these factors and actively contribute to the well-being of its students and faulty. Unfortunately, students do not always receive the support necessary to be mentally healthy. The purpose of this paper is to examine how social awareness and sensitivity of mental health in a university setting is a key component for individuals to flourish academically and grow personally. Several voluntary surveys completed by my first and second year math students at the University of Waterloo will be presented. The surveys investigated the students' experiences at the university, particularly in the Mathematics Department. In addition, this paper explores an alternative way to structure math classes, specifically assignment scheduling, in order to help students develop healthy study habits. The scores for the alternative-scheduled assignments are statistically analyzed and compared to scores of the typical-scheduled assignments currently implemented at the University of Waterloo. Finally, this paper briefly discusses the importance of socialization, specifically for young mathematicians and scientists, and potential consequences of reduced social exposure in the Digital Age.

High school mathematics curriculum has unique advantages in ideological and political education. Therefore, according to the characteristics of the mathematics curriculum, it is the fundamental task to realize the improvement of students' political literacy, values, and ideological and moral standards. In the process of high school mathematics curriculum education, mathematics teachers should fully tap the philosophical ideas and research methods contained in the concept definitions, theorem conclusions, etc. of mathematics, combine the mathematical core literacy, patriotism, philosophy of life, etc. in the mathematics curriculum, and assume the ideological responsibility of "preaching, teaching, and solving doubts". Abstract:As one of the core literacies of mathematics at the junior high school level, the abstraction ability literacy is attracting widespread attention. Classroom teaching has always been the mainstay of subject teaching and is the main way for students to acquire knowledge and skills. Therefore, how to implement abstraction ability literacy through classroom teaching is a problem worth studying. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the abstraction ability in Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022 Edition) by theoretical research methods. Based on the definition and requirements, the current situation of mathematics classroom teaching is clarified, and four strategies for implementing abstraction ability literacy in classroom teaching are proposed: (1) Combining problem scenarios, letting students experience the process of generating mathematical knowledge; (2) Carefully designing practice topics, carrying out homogeneous and variant training, and strictly regulating mathematical language expression; (3) Organizing interdisciplinary comprehensive practical activities centered on mathematics; (4) Flexibly using modern information technology to assist classroom teaching. Hopefully, it can provide new ideas for junior high school mathematics classroom teaching.

Abstract:In face of the mathematical foundation of students in higher vocational colleges, Tao Xingzhi’s educational thought is of great guiding significance. “Integration of doing, learning and teaching” is not only the theoretical basis of Tao Xingzhi’s educational thought, but also his methodology and action guideline. Tao Xingzhi emphasizes the unity of knowledge and action, among which action is greater than knowledge. This concept is isomorphic with the mathematical culture curriculum. Drawing on the idea of “integration of doing, learning and teaching”, we explore the math culture curriculum and expand the four forms of teaching and learning in math culture: theoretical training, practical exploration, research-based learning, and reflective learning. In the implementation of the school-based curriculum, local teaching resources should be fully exploited, constructing the mathematics teaching mode of “Integration of doing, learning and teaching”, effective teaching methods and classroom evaluation algorithms, ensuring the relevance of vocational education and improving mathematical literacy.

Abstract:Aiming at higher vocational students’ confusion about mathematics learning, we draw on the “integration of doing, learning and teaching” to change the closed state of mathematics teaching, serving the lifelong development of students. The theoretical basis is Dewey’s educational theory, Tao Xingzhi’s educational thought, Bandura’s activity theory, Marx’s theory on the comprehensive development of human, and system science. Dewey’s theory emphasizes active work, Tao Xingzhi’s educational thought emphasizes a high degree of integration of students’ practice, teachers’ guidance and their joint learning, Bandura’s theory emphasizes the relative effectiveness of teaching and learning, Marx’s theory of “whole person” emphasizes treating human as a whole, and his theory of systematic science emphasizes the synergistic collaboration between education reform and other aspects. Through the research, we have developed an open classroom, an effective teaching structure, an effective teaching methodology, an effective curriculum carrier for constructing mathematical literacy-mathematical culture and practice activities, enabling the integration of mathematical history with teaching and learning, and the emotional input for mathematical diary.

Abstract:As one of the core literacies emphasized in the Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022 Edition), geometric intuition has been widely valued in the current junior high school mathematics teaching. Based on the method of theoretical analysis, this paper analyzes the connotation of geometric intuition literacy combines it with the practice of current mathematics classroom teaching, and proposes four implementation strategies for geometric intuition literacy in junior high school mathematics classrooms, which are as follows: 1. Add operational practice to classroom teaching; 2. Provide thematic courses related to ruler drawing; 3. Reasonable use of modern educational technology to assist classroom teaching; 4. Organize special questions about charts to practice with students. These strategies can be used for reference by junior high school mathematics teachers in practical teaching.
