Abstract:The potential stress-buffering effects of sensation seeking were assessed in a prospective study involving high school athletes. A significant positive relation between major negative sport-specific life events and subsequent injury time-loss occurred only for athletes low in sensation seeking. No evidence was obtained for a competing hypothesis that high sensation seeking would constitute an injury vulnerability factor by increasing risk-taking behaviors. Although low sensation seekers reported poorer stress management coping skills, there was no evidence that differences in coping efficacy mediated the injury vulnerability difference. Results indicate that sensation seeking is a stress-resiliency factor and suggest the utility of assessing relations between life stressors and outcomes that occur within the same environmental context.

Abstract:The complexity of the hospital supply chain results in numerous unfavorable outcomes, including out-of-stock situations, excessive inventory levels, product expiration, and medical errors. SPD, which refers to supply, processing, and distribution, has come to light as a solution for mitigating some complexities-related burdens. Nevertheless, the SPD is still immature and has limited applications. Adopting supply chain management approaches successfully implemented in other industries with the desired outcomes to strengthen the SPD’s capabilities is therefore promising for the hospital. This study’s objectives are to examine the third-party logistics (3PL) model functioning as SPD and to enhance its performance by incorporating it with vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and inventory policies in managing the SPD of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) service. Therefore, this research proposes four logistics models, including an SPD with VMI (SPD-VMI) and three SPD-VMI models integrated with three different inventory policies, which include average inventory level and out-of-stock (OOS), are analyzed using discrete event simulation (DES). The results show that integrating the SPD with VMI improves inventory levels and out-of-stock incidents. When three inventory models are implemented, the results indicate a comparable out-of-stock reduction for all three policies. Additionally, the SPD-VMI with an order-up-to policy has the best performance in minimizing inventory and out-of-stock occurrences.

Abstract:The distribution of medical consumables inside the hospital is an important part of the daily operation of the hospital, which directly affects the operating efficiency of the entire hospital. Under the hospital SPD supply chain mode, the medical medicinal materials distribution nodes of various departments, pharmacies and warehouses of the hospital constitute the logistics distribution network of SPD central warehouse-secondary warehouse-consumption point. Considering the influence of time, distance and carrying vehicle on the distribution route of medical consumables in the hospital, the optimal distribution model of medical consumables under the hospital SPD supply chain mode was established with the minimum distribution cost of the hospital. The corresponding GA is designed and solved by MATLAB programming software. According to the established path optimization model, the distribution path optimization of medical consumables in a hospital in Shanghai is realized. The results show that the model is in line with the actual needs of the hospital; the algorithm is validated and the convergence speed is fast; compared with the traditional distribution path of medical consumables in the hospital, It is found that the optimized hospital medical consumables joint distribution path reduces logistics costs and improves the efficiency of distribution services. This article optimizes the joint distribution route of medical consumables in hospitals, promotes the organic combination of hospital SPD supply chain model and hospital operation structure, and promotes the modernization process of Chinese hospitals.

Abstract:In order to address the perspectives of healthcare supply chain management, the current literature was reviewed comprehensively. Major managerial issues were identified and discussed, including healthcare supply chain performance, cost reduction, inventory management, bullwhip effect, quality and security, and supply chain innovation. Some research methods were also discussed. Value chain analysis is valuable to case studies. System dynamics models or other supply chain reference models are useful for systematic analysis. The study also indicates a potential of application of healthcare supply chain management in developing countries.

Abstract:Background: This study introduces a novel supply chain management (SCM) model tailored for the hospital industry in Thailand. The model emphasises the integration of third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline supply-processing-distribution (SPD) functions. By outsourcing non-core activities like SPD to 3PL providers, hospitals can enhance their operational efficiency, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on core tasks and ultimately improving service delivery. Methods: This research employed a dual methodology, combining an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with a Fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (Fuzzy TOPSIS). These approaches evaluated various SCM models based on multiple hospital logistics performance attributes. Results: The AHP results highlighted on-time delivery, patient safety, utilisation rate, and emergency procurement as critical criteria for selecting the optimal model. Fuzzy TOPSIS analysis identified the SCIII: W-G-H model as the most suitable for implementation in Thai hospitals. This model incorporates a centralised warehouse for negotiation leverage, a Group Purchasing Organisation (GPO) for cost efficiency, and regional SPD hubs for effective inventory management and rapid responses to demand fluctuations or emergencies. Conclusions: Adopting this SCM model is expected to significantly enhance supply chain performance, reduce operational costs, and improve the quality and safety of patient care in Thai hospitals.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To explore the modern hospital and regional medical consumable reagents logistics system management.METHODS:The characteristics of regional logistics, through cooperation between medical institutions within the region, and organize a wide range of special logistics activities, to make reasonable of the regional medical consumable reagents logistics. To set the regional management system, dynamic management systems, supply chain information management system, after-sales service system and assessment system. By the research of existing medical market and medical resources, to establish the regional medical supplies reagents directory and the initial data. The emphasis is centralized dispatch of medical supplies reagents, to introduce qualified logistics company for dispatching, to improve the modern hospital management efficiency, to costs down.RESULTS:Regional medical center and regional community health service centers constitute a regional logistics network, the introduction of medical consumable reagents logistics services, fully embodies integrity level, relevance, purpose, environmental adaptability of characteristics by the medical consumable reagents regional logistics distribution.CONCLUSIONS:Modern logistics distribution systems can increase the area of medical consumables reagent management efficiency and reduce costs.

Abstract:This work presents a novel model of emergency medical logistics for quick response to public health emergencies. The proposed methodology consists of two recursive mechanisms: (1) the time-varying forecasting of medical relief demand and (2) relief distribution. The medical demand associated with each epidemic area is forecast according to a modified susceptible-exposed-infected-recovered model. A linear programming approach is then applied to facilitate distribution decision-making. The physical and psychological fragility of affected people are discussed. Numerical studies are conducted. Results show that the consideration of survivor psychology significantly reduces the psychological fragility of affected people, but it barely influences physical fragility.

Abstract:OBJECTIVEThis paper adopts advanced information technology to manage medical supplies, in order to improve the medical supplies management level and reduce material cost.METHODSIt develops a Medical Supplies Management System with B/S and C/S mixed structure, optimizing material management process, building large equipment performance evaluation model, providing interface solution with HIS, and realizing real-time information briefing of high value material's consumption.CONCLUSIONThe medical materials are managed during its full life-cycle. The material consumption of the clinical departments is monitored real-timely. Through the closed-loop management with pre-event budget, mid-event control and after-event analysis, it realizes the final purpose of management yielding benefit.

Then the characteristics and ability to rebuild high-value medical consumables supply chain of the fourth party logistics were mentioned. Results: The fourth party logistics mode to manage high-cost medical consumables is introduced in current medical device trades. Conclusion: The fourth party logistics can be used to rebuild medical consumables supply chain to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Abstract:Objective: To identify and analyze the problems of major medical equipment(class B) allocation and management in China.Methods: National and provincial major medical equipment(class B) regulations were reviewed and compared.Sixteen secondary and tertiary hospitals from three provinces and one municipality were selected and typical investigations and experts meetings were delivered to get in-depth understanding of management status of major medical equipment(class B) allocation and management.Results: Problems of major medical equipment(class B) allocation and management in China included: irrational allocation plan and shortage of allocation in primary-level hospital;low independent research and development level and vacancy of operation personnel management;unclear division of investigation and supervision and insufficient administrative efficiency.Conclusion: Government departments at all levels have issued equipment management policies,which have achieved favorable effect.Continuous efforts of major medical equipment allocation and management should be made.

Abstract:The traditional medical material distribution management system method lacks systematic analysis and relies heavily on the subjective judgment of related operators, and it is easy to cause excessive or too little inventory, which leads to waste of operating costs. This study builds on a dedicated system for artificial intelligence robot logistics and aims to minimize the total cost of medical material ordering and distribution operations. In addition, in view of the constraints in the actual operation of the hospital, this study uses the concept of the spatiotemporal network to construct an ordering and distribution scheduling planning model of single material certainty, single material stochastic, and multiple material stochastic to help the hospital make optimal decisions and ensure the hospital's continuous and stable operation. In addition, after building the system, this study designs experiments to analyze the performance of this study system. The research shows that the model constructed in this paper has a certain effect and can provide a reference for the follow-up medical material distribution management system.

Abstract:In today's global landscape, efficient logistics management is crucial for fostering sustainable development across industries. Integrating big data analytics into logistics operations has emerged as a transformative approach to boost efficiency, minimize waste, and mitigate environmental impact. This paper aims to explore the significance of utilizing big data analytics to optimize logistics management for sustainable development. The current challenges in logistics management primarily revolve around four key aspects: the efficiency of goods delivery, raw material costs, one-stop solutions, and service evaluation. These challenges persist in traditional logistics management due to their strong independence. Therefore, this paper is devoted to the optimization of logistics flow management through the lens of sustainable development and ecological cycles. Initially, by considering the Sustainable Development logistics management mode and survey data from 302 logistics enterprises, improvements are made in the four aspects. Subsequently, a four-element analysis function is designed, comprising factors for efficiency improvement, cost reduction, comprehensive optimization, and service enhancement. This function, which aims to assess logistics operations thoroughly, is a crucial component of the research. It includes components for enhancing services, cutting costs, improving efficiency, and conducting comprehensive optimization. MATLAB 21.0 b software is utilized for model analysis, primarily focusing on Volar model area analysis. The aim is to identify and categorize new optimization directions for SD logistics management mode based on the collected data and analyzed samples. The effectiveness of the SD logistics management mode is verified by observing model results and trends. Ultimately, the paper demonstrates the relevance of optimizing logistics management mode by significantly improving the efficiency of goods delivery, reducing raw material costs, enhancing one-stop solutions, and evaluating service-sharing information.
