Abstract:In this study, experimental methods X-ray single crystal analysis, UV-Vis spectroscopy and FTIR spectroscopy, and theoretical method Density Functional Theory (DFT) were used to study the structure of the new Schiff base ( E )- N -(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-1-(5-nitro-2-(piperidin-1-yl)phenyl) methanamine. Theoretical calculations of the title compound and FTIR harmonic vibration frequencies were carried out using B3LYP methods with the 6-31G( d , p ) basis set. The optical properties have been studied by DFT calculation and the experimental UV-Vis spectrum presents its contribution to the HOMO‒LUMO boundary. The molecular electrostatic potential map (MEP-ESP), analysis of frontier molecular orbitals (FMO), and determination of thermodynamic properties for the title compound were conducted using identical levels of theory. Besides, the structural state and crystal packing of the title compound were analyzed using molecular structure, Hirshfeld surfaces, interactions energies, energy frameworks and electrophilicity-based charge transfer (ECT) with DNA bases.

Abstract:In this present methodical study, on the basis of the density functional theory (DFT), the first-principles calculations have been employed successfully to study the structural and electronic properties of N-acetyl-DL-methionine (C7H13NO3S) which is a derivative of DL-methionine which is also known DL-2-amino-4-methyl-thiobutanoic acid. Optimized molecular structure, vibrational frequencies and also 13C and 1H NMR chemical shift values of the title compound are provided in a detailed manner by using B3LYP and HSEH1PBE functionals by applying 6-311++G(d,p) basis set for calculations using Gaussian 09W program. The comparison of the calculated values with the experimental values provides important information about the title compound. In addition, the electronic properties (UV-Vis calculations) of the title compound, such as HOMO-LUMO energy values and energy gap, absorption wavelengths, oscillator strengths were performed basing on the optimized structure in gas phase. Moreover, the molecular electrostatic potential surface, dipole moment, nonlinear optical properties, linear polarizabilities and first hyperpolarizabilities and chemical parameters have also been studied.

Abstract:A systematic quantum mechanical study of the possible conformations and vibrational spectra of 2-amino 6-bromo 3-formylchromone has been reported. The equilibrium geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies, infrared intensities and activities of Raman scattering were calculated by Hartree–Fock and density functional theory employing Becke's three-parameter (local, non-local and HF) hybrid exchange functionals with Lee–Yang–Parr co-relational (B3LYP) functionals using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface. The calculated wavenumbers after proper scaling show a very good agreement with the observed values. The electrostatic potential mapped onto isodensity surface has been obtained. The natural bond orbital analysis has been carried out in order to study the intra-molecular bonding, interactions among bonds and delocalisation of unpaired electrons. The highest occupied molecular orbital–lowest unoccupied molecular orbital studies have been conducted in order to determine the way the molecule interacts with other species.

Abstract:Quantum chemical calculations of ground state energy, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers, nuclear magnetic behaviors, electronic absorption spectra along with the nonlinear optical properties of 2-(2-benzothiazolylthio)-ethanol (BTZTE) were carried out using density functional (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6-311++G(d,p) as basis set. The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra were measured in the condensed state. The fundamental vibrational wavenumbers as well as their intensities were calculated, and a good correlation between experimental and scaled calculated wavenumbers was accomplished. The electric dipole moment, polarizability and the first hyperpolarizability values of the BTZTE were calculated at the same level of theory and basis set. The results show that the BTZTE molecule possesses nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. Stability of the molecule arising from hyper-conjugative interactions and charge delocalization was analyzed using natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. UV spectrum of the studied molecule was recorded in the region 200-500nm and the electronic properties were predicted by time-dependent DFT approach. The calculated transition energies are in good concurrency with the experimental data. (1)H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) chemical shifts of the title molecule were calculated by the gauge independent atomic orbital (GIAO) method and compared with experimental results. The thermodynamic properties of the studied compound at different temperatures were calculated. Global and local reactivity descriptors were computed to predict reactivity and reactive sites on the molecule.

Abstract:Chlorocarbonylthio- and isothiocyanate (ClC(O)SCN and ClC(O)NCS) have been isolated and characterized by IR (Ar matrix, gas), Raman (liquid), (13)C NMR and UV-visible spectroscopies. Vibrational and quantum chemical studies suggest the presence of the syn and anti conformers (SCN group with respect to the C═O bond) in the gas phase for both constitutional isomers. syn-ClC(O)SCN is preferred by ΔH° (anti/syn) = 1.3(0.3) kcal mol(-1). The solid-state structure of ClC(O)SCN has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis at low temperature. The crystalline solid consists exclusively of molecules in the syn conformation. On the other hand, the anti form is more stable for the ClC(O)NCS isomer. The structure of ClC(O)NCS and its conformational composition were determined by gas electron diffraction. An unusual low syn → anti interconversion energy barrier of 0.98 (0.15) kcal mol(-1) was detected for ClC(O)NCS at cryogenic temperatures. The photochemistry of both constitutional isomers isolated in solid argon at 15 K was studied. Rearrangement of ClC(O)SCN to ClC(O)NCS was observed in the neat liquid and under UV-vis irradiation of ClC(O)SCN isolated in solid argon. Properties have been discussed in terms of the valence electronic structure, including the analysis of the He(I) photoelectron spectrum of ClC(O)SCN.

Abstract:The structure of the ionic species in an SnCl2-1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (EMIC) melt was examined using density functional theory (DFT) calculation and Raman spectroscopy. The Raman spectra of three different of SnCl2-EMIC melts, 33/67 (33 mol% SnCl2-67 mol% EMIC), 50/50, and 67/33 melts, were measured. The most stable structure of each SnCl2, SnCl3-, Sn2Cl4, Sn2Cl5-, EMI+, SnCl3- - EMI+ complex, or Sn2Cl5- - EMI+ complex was obtained using the B3LYP method. with the LanL2DZ basis set. SnCl3- was found to be contained in all of the examined SnCl2-EMIC melts based on the assignment of the Raman spectra. Sn2Cl5- was contained in the acidic melts (SnCl2 > 50 mol%). The SnCl3- - EMI+ and Sn2Cl5- - EMI+ complexes as a microscopic structure in the SnCl2-EMIC melt were evaluated by a comparison between the harmonic frequencies and Raman spectra. In the SnCl3- - EMI+ complex, the SnCl3- was located on one side of EMI+ with a strong Coulombic force. Two possible structures of the Sn2Cl5- - EMI+ complex were obtained by a comparison between the calculated and experimental Raman spectra. Sn2Cl5- was also located on the same side of EMI+ as the SnCl3- - EMI+ complex.
NBO, NMR, UV, FT-IR, FT-Raman spectra and molecular structure (monomeric and dimeric structures) investigation of 4-Chloro-3,5-Xylenol: a combined experimental and theoretical study

Abstract:In this work, a joint experimental (FTIR and FT-Raman) and theoretical (DFT and ab initio) study on the structure and the vibrations of 4-Chloro-3,5-Xylenol (CXL) are compared and analyzed. CXL is a chlorinated phenolic antiseptic which is a bactericide against most gram-positive bacteria. The first hyperpolarizability (β0) of this novel molecular system and related non-linear properties of CXL are calculated using HF/6-311++G(d,p) method on the finite-field approach. The energy and oscillator strength calculated using absorption spectra (UV-Vis spectrum), this spectral analysis confirms the charge transfer of the molecule. The theoretical (13)C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) chemical shifts of the molecule were calculated by Gauge Including Atomic Orbital (GIAO) method, to analyze the molecular environment as well as the delocalization activities of electron clouds. The directly calculated ionization potential (IP), electron affinity (EA), electronegativity (χ), chemical hardness (η), first electron excitation energy (τ) and electrophilicity index (ω) as well as local reactivity (S) analyzed using HOMO and LUMO energies; the energy band gap are also determined. NBO analysis shows that charge in electron density(ED) in the σ(*) and π(*) antibonding orbitals and E((2)) energies confirms the occurrence of ICT (Intramolecular Charge Transfer) within the molecule. Inter molecular hydrogen bonds exist between -OH group, give the evidence for the formation of dimer entities in the title molecule. The influences of chlorine atom, hydroxyl group and methyl group on the geometry of benzene and its normal modes of vibrations (monomer and dimer of CXL) have also been discussed. Finally the calculated results were applied to simulate Infrared and Raman spectra of the title molecule which show good agreement with observed spectra.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, the molecular geometry, vibrational frequencies and chemical shifts of (6-Methoxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl)methyl pyrrolidine-1-carbodithioate in the ground state have been calculated using the Hartree-Fock and density functional methods with the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. To investigate the nonlinear optical properties of the title compound, the polarizability and the first hyperpolarizability were calculated. The conformational properties of the molecule have been determined by analyzing molecular energy properties. Using the time dependent density functional theory, electronic absorption spectra have been calculated. Frontier molecular orbitals, natural bond orbitals, natural atomic charges and thermodynamical parameters were also investigated by using the density functional theory calculations.

Density Functional Theory Studies on Structure, Spectra, and Electronic Properties of 3,7-Dinitrodibenzobromolium Cation and Chloride

Abstract:The structural and electronic properties of the 3,7-dinitrodibenzobromolium cation and chloride were studied using first-principle methods, based on the density functional theory (DFT). Different forms of exchange and correlation functions and basis sets were considered, and their suitability in studying such large molecules were assessed by comparing the calculated results with available X-ray diffraction data. The DFT results were also compared with those obtained previously using the Hartree-Fock (HF) method. The DFT methods improved on the calculated IR and Raman spectra, confirming the superiority of the DFT methods over the HF method in predicting harmonic frequencies, particularly for organic nitro compounds. The geometric parameters obtained using the hybrid DFT methods, such as B3LYP, B3P86, and B3PW91, are compatible with the results of the HF method. The structure of 3,7-dinitrodibenzobromolium chloride was optimized with and without symmetry constraints (such and C-s and C-2v) separately. The C-1 structure obtained from optimization without any symmetry constraints and the C-s structure were proven to be identical, using more-stringent convergence criteria in the structure optimization. Intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) calculation was performed, following the frequency calculation for the optimized C-2v structure. The results confirmed that the C-2v structure is the transition structure connecting the two energy minimum stuctures in C-s symmetry. A strong ionic bond is formed between the chloride anion and the 3,7-dinitrodibenzobromolium cation, with a Br-Cl bond length of 2.606 Angstrom. Further studies were conducted to obtain the electronic density, electrostatic potential, and charge distribution of the chloride and the cation in its planar form and with the rotation of the nitro group. The charge distribution of other halides are also investigated and discussed. Knowledge of the electron properties is useful for understanding the bonding and biological activities of this molecule.

Abstract:In this present work, a chalcone derivative 1-(4-Chlorophenyl)-3-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-prop-2-en-1-one is investigated using the density functional theory. PES scan is used to find the most stable conformational structure of the title compound. The geometrical parameters, FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra are performed by the DFT method with B3LYP/6-311+G basis set, which are very comparable with the experimental results. UV-Vis spectrum, frontier molecular orbitals, global reactivity descriptors, molecular electrostatic potential surface, NLO parameters and Mulliken charge in the gas phase, various polar and non-polar solvents are performed to reveal solvents effect. Further, it is found that the electronic properties show a good correlation with the polarity of solvents. Hirshfeld Surface analysis demonstrates H···H contact is dominant in the crystal packing. By means of molecular reactivity descriptors such as natural bond orbital analysis, Fukui function and dual descriptor analysis, the chemical reactivity is theoretically estimated. ELF and LOL are used to access the energy density of electrons. Molecular docking illustrates ECC may be a potential inhibitor for 6R3K protein.

Abstract:The optimized geometries, vibrational force fields and infrared intensities of FC(O)NCS were calculated by HF, MP2, DFT(B3LYP) methods with 6 - 31G* basis set. The theoretical force Geld of B3LYP/6 - 31G* were scaled using the scaled quantum mechanical force field method of Pulay. The average deviations between the experimental and computed frequencies are 10 and 13 cm(-1) for the cis - and trans - isomers of FC(O)NCS, respectively. The assignments of the fundamentals for two rotational conformers of this molecule were also performed according to the potential energy distribution and the infrared intensities.

Abstract:We have investigated the structure of cyclohexene-2-ethanamine molecule both theoretically and experimantally. Theoretical investigation is based on a first principle technique Density Functional Theory (DFT) using plane wave basis sets and ultrasoft pseudo-potentials while the experimental technique is infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Exchange-correlation potential of DFT was approximated in the frame of both local density approximation (LDA) and generalized gradient approximation (GGA) schemes. Vibrational properties of this molecule are given by the assignments in the range for wavenumber 4000-400 $cm^{-1}$. Stable equilibrium structure of the molecule was also obtained by using LDA and GGA. Obtained optimized geometrical structure was used to calculate vibrational properties and STM images. A remarkable agreement was obtained between theory and experiment, especially in the symmetric and asymmetric vibrations of NH groups.

Abstract:The study extensively examined N,N'-(4-methyl-1,3-phenylene)bis(1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)methanimine) (6D). Advanced spectroscopic techniques, including IR, Raman, NMR, and UV-VIS spectroscopies, were employed to analyse the molecule. The Schiff base was ultimately confirmed using NMR spectrum analysis. The UV-VIS study revealed a notable bathochromic change in the compound, indicating their electronic transitions. By using the HOMO–LUMO bond gap the titled compound reactivity sites were identified. The compound 6D HOMO–LUMO band gap is 3.70 eV. Various wave function investigations like MESP, HOMO–LUMO, RDG, ELF, LOL, and ALIE were conducted to elucidate the distribution of electronic charge, providing valuable insights into the behaviour of molecules. The biological probability of the synthesised compound was extensively assessed using a docking study. Using MEP and HOMO–LUMO investigations, we confirm nucleophilic and electrophilic attacking sites. In the docking study, the protein Bovine cytochrome bc1 complex stigma Tellin bound (PDB ID–1PP9) was downloaded. The docking study identified the most stable minimum binding energy is –6.26 kcal/mol.

Dft Study of Molecular Structure and Vibrational Spectrum of Strychnine

Abstract:Density functional theory(DFT) method at B3LYP/6-31G* level was used to optimize the geometric structure of strychnine contained in natural drug Strychos rux-vomica L. The equilibrious geometry parameters of strychnine was obtained and compared with its experimental ones. The harmonic force field and fundamental frequencies of the title molecule were calculated at B3LYP/6-31G* level of the theory. A set of scaling factor was constituted according to the different normal modes and used to scale the calculated frequencies for strychnine. The mean difference between the theoretical and experimental frequencies was found to be 19.0 cm(-1). According to the normal modes and IR intensities in DFT calculation, we gave a consummate and reasonable assignment and interpretation to the observed vibrational spectrum of strychnine.

Abstract:The experimental IR spectra of (S)-4′-(1-methylheptyloxycarbonyl) biphenyl-4-yl 4-[2-(2,2,3,3,4,4,4-heptafluorobutoxy) ethyl-1-oxy]-2-fluorobenzoate in the crystal phase are analyzed with the help of dispersion-corrected density functional theory (DFT+D3) calculations for isolated molecular monomer and dimer models, and a periodic model computed at the extended density functional tight-binding (xTB) level of theory. It is found that the frequency scaling coefficients obtained with the results of the molecular calculations are good matches for the crystal phase, being close to 1. The molecular and periodic models both confirm that varied intra- and intermolecular interactions are crucial in order to reproduce the broadened shape of the experimental band related to C=O stretching; the key factors are the conjugation of the ester groups with the aromatic rings and the varied intermolecular chemical environments, wherein the C=O group that bridges the biphenyl and F-substituted phenyl groups seems particularly sensitive. The C=O stretching vibrations are investigated as a function of temperature, covering the range of the crystal, smectic CA*, smectic C* and isotropic liquid phases. The structure changes are followed based on the X-ray diffraction patterns collected in the same temperatures as the IR spectra. The experimental and computational results taken together indicate that the amount of weak C=O...H-C hydrogen bonds between the molecules in the smectic layers decreases with increasing temperature.

Abstract:The organic molecule of 3,7,11,15-Tetramethyl-2-hexadecen-1-ol is frequently present in plant chlorophyll pigment. The title compound possesses antimicrobial, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer characteristics. The 3TMH molecule are being investigated using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis, Ultraviolet-Visible (UV–Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), and Density Functional Theory (DFT) approach with the Becke,3-parameter, Lee–Yang–Parr (B3LYP) method, 6–311++ G (d, p) basis set is used to analyse the geometrical parameters, Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital and the Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital (HOMO-LUMO), and Molecular Electrostatic Potential (MEP) mapping. In the 3TMH molecules, the computed Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) analysis exhibit the high stabilization interaction (intra-inter, hydrogen bonding, and charge delocalization) between the donor and acceptor. The UV–Vis spectra of the maximum absorption correlated with different solvents as determined by Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory (TD-DFT). According to Veda 04, the measured FT-IR spectrum and the theoretical spectra of vibrational assignment with Potential energy distribution (PED%) are in good agreement. The Electron Localization Function (ELF) and Localized Orbital Locator (LOL) mapping has provided an explanation for the chemical bonding within fragments, as well as interactions between the atoms. The strong attraction, strong repulsion, and weak interaction have been estimated Reduced Density Gradient (RDG). Furthermore, the molecular docking examined ligand-protein interaction of least binding energy 6.73 kcal/mol against anti-cancer activity.

Abstract:The experimental (x-ray, FT-IR NMR and UV-Vis. Spectral data) and theoretical researches of N-(2-((2-chloro-4,5-dicyanophenyl)amino)ethyl)-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide molecule were conducted in this study. The theoretical quantum computations (the optimized structure, IR NMR and UV-Vis.) to support experimental data were performed by DFT theory at B3LYP functional and 6–311 + +G(d,p) basis set. The optimized and IR calculations were done in the gas phase, while theoretical NMR was performed in Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO-d6) solvation. A variety of solutions were used to explore the UV-Visible spectrum using the TD-DFT method. The Potential Energy Distribution analysis (PED) of the title compound was performed with VEDA4 analysis and these assignments were compared with the experimental FT-IR spectrum. Hirshfeld surface analysis of the molecule by using crystal information file was carried out with Crystal Explorer the program. Additionally, over the check point file of the molecule HOMO, LUMO, MEP analyses were performed. Finally, the molecular docking calculations and drug-likeness properties were conducted according to the five rules of Lipinski.

Abstract:The geometry optimization of C28H3Cl, C28H2Cl2, C28HCl3, CH3Cl, CH2Cl2, CHCl3 have been performed by INDO series methods , C28H3Cl, C28HCl3, CH3Cl, CHCl3 are C3v symmetry and C28H2Cl2, CH2Cl2 are C2v symmetry. The groumd states of above six molecules are stable closed -shell molecules. On the base of these geometries, the electronic spectra of above molecules have been calculated.The electronic spectra of C28H4-nCln(n = 1~3) are theoretical predictions.
