Abstract:The present study was purposed to evaluate the safety of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-based therapy impacting on atherosclerosis. Allogeneic MSCs were obtained from rabbit bone marrow aspirates and expanded in vitro. New Zealand white rabbits were divided into three groups: 24 rabbits with hypercholesterolemia receiving intravenous injection of either 5 x 10(7) MSCs (n = 12) or saline (n = 12) after 5 weeks on a high lipid diet and additional rabbits (n = 6) fed with standard rabbit diet were served as controls. Body weight and blood lipids were measured at weeks 0, 5, 9 and 13 during the study. All rabbits were sacrificed at week 13. Atherosclerotic lesion size and vasa vasorum were evaluated by using pathological analysis and immunocytochemical technique. The results showed that the aortic sinus lesion size significantly increased in rabbits infused with MSCs as compared with controls receiving saline (23.35 +/- 3.51% and 11.39 +/- 3.08% respectively). The lesion size in whole aortas of MSC-treated rabbits was 76.64 +/- 12.70% versus 57.61 +/- 9.00% in saline-treated animals (p < 0.05). Moreover, vasa vasorum networks in MSC-treated aortas were more numerous and had increased capillary density. It is concluded that the allogeneic MSC transfusion may result in an increase in atherosclerotic lesion size. In cell therapy with MSCs or cell populations containing MSCs a strategy to attenuate the high potential of MSCs involved in atherogenesis of atherosclerosis should be taken in account.
Indications for mechanical ventilation in adults with acute respiratory failure.

Abstract:Increased understanding of the mechanisms and effects of acute respiratory failure has not been accompanied by more precise criteria by which the clinician can determine when intubation should be carried out and invasive positive-pressure ventilation (IPPV) instituted in a given patient. The indications traditionally offered in reviews and textbooks have tended to be either so broad as not to be very helpful in an individual case, or of questionable clinical relevance and too cumbersome for practical use. This review updates the indications for IPPV in adult patients with acute respiratory failure by examining available evidence from clinical trials and by considering new management alternatives that have become available in the last 20 years. Indications for IPPV based on specific threshold values for P(CO2) and pH or on various indices of arterial oxygenation have generally not been validated by clinical evidence, and it is unlikely that any cutoff value would be applicable to all patients or all categories of acute respiratory failure. Stated another way, there is probably no single value for arterial P(CO2), pH, or P(O2) that by itself constitutes an indication for IPPV. Compelling face validity justifies the use of IPPV in cases of apnea or when it appears certain that respiratory arrest is about to occur. However, dyspnea, tachypnea, or the subjective impression of respiratory distress are probably not in themselves justification for emergency intubation. It should be possible to avoid IPPV and its attendant complications in many cases of acute hypercapnic respiratory failure. In acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation (NPPV) should be the initial ventilation approach unless the patient has one of several specific exclusion criteria such as cardiovascular instability or severely impaired mental status. It may also be possible to avoid intubation through the use of NPPV in certain immunocompromised patients with early acute hypoxemic respiratory failure. However, in other settings of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, such as acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome, this has not been shown. The use of IPPV may improve outcomes in patients with severe cardiogenic shock. However, IPPV has not proven to be beneficial in traumatic brain injury and flail chest, in the absence of other indications.

Abstract:Type 1 HIV gp120 is especially effective in disrupting immune cell function because it is able to cause dysregulation of both infected and uninfected cells. We report a novel CCR5-dependent mechanism of gp120-induced CD4 loss from macrophages. An M-tropic gp120, using CCR5, is able to induce 70% loss of cell surface CD4 from macrophages within an hour. This cell surface CD4 loss is more substantial and rapid than the 20% loss observed with T-tropic gp120IIIB by 3 h. The rapid and substantial CD4 loss induced by M-tropic gp120 is not observed on macrophages homozygous for the ccr5Δ32 mutation, which fail to express cell surface CCR5. We have used confocal imaging to show that gp120 and CD4 are internalized together by a process resembling receptor-mediated endocytosis, and that both proteins enter HLA-DR containing compartments of the macrophage. We have also shown by semiquantitative RT-PCR that, in response to CD4 loss from the cell surface, mRNA for CD4 is up-regulated and the intracellular pool of CD4 increases. CCR5 mRNA levels are also increased. It is proposed that internalization of self and viral protein and increased pools of intracellular CD4 could modulate Ag presentation efficiencies and have implications for the induction and maintenance of both productive immune responses and self-tolerance.
Allograftic Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Transplanted into Heart Infarcted Model of Rabbit to Renovate Infarcted Heart

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the directed transplantation of allograftic bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in myocardial infarcted (MI) model rabbits. Materials and Methods: Rabbit were divided into 3 groups, heart infarcted model with MSCs transplanted treatment (MSCs group, n=12), heart infarcted model with PBS injection (control group, n=20), sham operation with PBS injection (sham group, n=17). MSCs labelled by BrdUrd were injected into the MI area of the MSCs group. The same volume of PBS was injected into the MI area of the control group and sham group. The mortality, LVIDd, LVIDs and LVEF of the two groups were compared 4 weeks later. Tropomyosin inhibitory component (TnI) and BrdUrd immunohistochemistry identified the engrafted cells 4 weeks after transplantation. Result: The mortality of the MSCs group was 16.7% (2/12), and remarkably lower than the control group’s mortality [35% (7/20) (P<0.05)]. Among the animals that survived for 4 weeks, the LVIDd and LVIDs of the MSCs group after operation were 1.17±0.21 cm and 0.74±0.13 cm, and remarkably lower than those of the model group, which were 1.64±0.14 cm and 1.19±0.12 cm (P<0.05); the LVEF of the MSCs group after operation was 63±6%, and remarkably higher than that of the model group, which was 53±6% (P<0.05). Among the 10 cases of animals that survived for 4 weeks in the MSCs group, in 8 cases (80%), the transplanted cells survived in the non MI, MI region and its periphery, and even farther away; part of them differentiated into cardiomyocytes; in 7 cases (70%), the transplanted cells participated in the formation of blood vessel tissue in the MI region. Conclusion: Transplanted allograftic MSCs can survive and differentiate into cardiomyocytes, form the blood vessels in the MI region. MSCs transplantation could improve the heart function after MI.

Abstract:Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of arteries fueled by lipids. It is a major cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Mesenchymal stem cells have been used for the treatment of atherosclerotic lesions. Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) have been shown to regulate the activation state of macrophages and exhibit anti-inflammatory capabilities. However, the effect of allogeneic ADSCs in the treatment of AS have not been investigated. In this study, the early treatment effect and preliminary mechanism analysis of allogeneic rabbit ADSCs intravenous transplantation were investigated in a high-fat diet rabbit model. The polarization mechanism of rabbit ADSCs on the macrophage was further analyzed in vitro. Compared with the model group, blood lipid levels declined, the plaque area, oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) uptake, scavenger receptor A1 and cluster of differentiation (CD) 36 levels were all significantly reduced, and the accumulation of inflammatory M1 macrophages, apoptosis, interleukin (IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α expression were decreased. The endothelial cells (CD31), M2 macrophages, IL-10 and the transforming growth factor (TGF)-β levels increased. In vitro, ADSCs can promote the M1 macrophage phenotypic switch toward the M2 macrophage through their secreted exosomes, and the main mechanism includes increasing arginase 1 expression and IL-10 secretion, declining inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression and TNF-α secretion, and activating the STAT6 pathway. Therefore, allogeneic rabbit ADSC transplantation can transmigrate to the aortic atherosclerotic plaques and show a good effect in lowering blood lipids and alleviating atherosclerotic plaque in the early stage of AS by inhibiting ox-LDL uptake, inflammatory response, and endothelial damage.

Abstract:Purpose: To investigate whether atherosclerosis can be prevented by magnetically labeled endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in rabbits.Materials anti methods: EPCs derived from rabbit periphery blood were labeled with a superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) agent Fe2O3-poly-L-lysine (Fe2O3-PLL). Rabbit atherosclerosis was induced by high-cholesterol-diet following balloon injury via catheterization of right common carotid artery (RCCA). Fe2O3-PLL labeled EPCs (2 x 10(6)) and media were allowed to interact with the RCCA for 25 min in EPC-treated rabbits (n = 14) and control rabbits (n = 7) animals respectively. MRI was performed with a 1.5 T-magnet to measure RCCA signal intensity (SI) and caliber at week 1, 2, 3, 6,12, and 15 with animals euthanized in groups for histopathology.Results: In EPC-treated rabbits, T-2-weighted MRI showed SI loss in RCCA at week I and 2 followed by normalization after week 3. MRI outcomes corresponded well to findings of Prussian blue staining. MRI at week 6,12 and 15 showed little stenosis of RCCA in EPC-treated rabbits, but moderate to severe stenoses in control rabbits. Histology at week 15 revealed significantly thinner RCCA wall (277.62 mu m vs. 382.95 mu m, P= 0.026), greater internal diameter (913.33 mu m vs. 789.64 mu m, P= 0.037) and smaller plaque (398.60 mm(2) vs. 597.70 mm(2), P = 0.047) in EPC-treated rabbits relative to control rabbits.Conclusion: Atherosclerosis at RCCA was inhibited by SPIO-labeled EPCs, which was depicted with a clinical MRI scanner over 2 weeks after cell administration, suggesting that EPCs may play a role in restoration of endothelial injury and prevention of atherosclerosis. Effects of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Transplantation on Post-Infarction Ventricular Remodeling in Rats

Abstract:Objective To investigate the feasibility and efficiency of mesenchymal stem cells transplantation on ventricular remodeling and heart function after myocardial infarction in rats. Methods MSCs were acquired from the bone marrow of adult rats. They were isolated, purified and cultured in ex vivo before transplantation.At 1 to 2 hours after left coronary artery ligation, the cultured cells, marked with BrdU, were directly injected into the border of cardiac infarction in rats. At 6 weeks after transplantation, the rat's heart function, ventricular remodeling and pathological Changes were measured by echocardiography, dissection,and immunohistochemistry,respectively. Results After transplantaed with MSCs LV end-diastolic diameter,horizontal circumference of mior axis and LV end-systolic diameter were shorter, LV walls was thickened, weight index was decreased, (P0.05), as compared with the control. MSCs transplantation prevented cardiac dilatation and reduced collagen content. The numbers of blood vessels and cardiomyocytes were increased at the margin of infarction site in the animals transplanted with MSCs. BrdU-labelled MSCs with oval nucleus were widely distributed. Conclusion MSCs could survive in host infarcted hearts. MSCs transplantation had benificial effects on remodeling processes and improved cardiac function,which was possibily related with the reduction of the amount of the collagen,and with myogenesis and angiogenesis.

Abstract:Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) are currently considered a central pivotal player in pathogenesis and development of atherosclerotic lesions. As consequence of vascular injury, SMCs migrate from the tunica media into the tunica intima layers where they contribute to neointimal formation by converting into foam cells and producing pro-inflammatory and oxidative stress markers. We targeted the replacement of neointimal SMCs by using the mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) therapy in experimentally induced atherosclerosis in an attempt to improve the atherosclerotic lesion and its concomitant complications. Rats were divided into 4 groups (n=20). Control group: rats kept on a standard chow diet; atherosclerotic group: rats received the atherogenic diet; stem cells-treated group: rats were injected with CD34+ stem cells (6×106 cells in 0.5 mL PBS in rat tail vein) and maintained on the atherogenic diet; and resveratrol-treated group: rats were supplemented orally with resveratrol at a dose level 3 mg/kg per day and the atherogenic diet. After 12 weeks, rats were euthanized, blood samples were collected for separation of serum, and abdominal aortas were excised for further biochemical, molecular, and histopathological investigations. We used resveratrol, the well-established anti-atherosclerotic drug, as a benchmark to assess the efficacy of stem cell therapy. MSCs treatment revealed significant amelioration in both histopathological and biochemical patterns as evidenced by decreased foam cells formation, ICAM-1, VCAM, M-CSF, iNOS, COX-2, and TNF-α. We concluded that MSCs therapy significantly replaced the neointimal SMCs and decreased adhesion molecules as well as the oxidative and inflammatory markers in atherosclerosis.
Human Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Transplanted into Damaged Rabbit Heart to Improve Heart Function.

Abstract:Objective: The present study was designed to test whether transplantation of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) in New Zealand rabbits with myocardial infarction can improve heart function; and whether engrafted donor cells can survive and transdifferentiated into cardiomyocytes. Methods: Twenty milliliters bone marrow was obtained from healthy men by bone biopsy. A gradient centrifugation method was used to separate bone marrow cells (BMCs) and red blood cells. BMCs were incubated for 48 h and then washed with phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). The culture medium was changed twice a week for 28 d. Finally, hematopoietic cells were washed away to leave only MSCs. Human MSCs (hMSCs) were premarked by BrdU 72 h before the transplantation. Thirty-four New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into myocardial infarction (MI) control group and cell treated group, which received hMSCs (MI+MSCs) through intramyocardial injection, while the control group received the same volume of PBS. Myocardial infarction was induced by ligation of the left coronary artery. Cell treated rabbits were treated with 5×10 6 MSCs transplanted into the infarcted region after ligation of the coronary artery for 1 h, and the control group received the same volume of PBS. Cyclosporin A (oral solution; 10 mg/kg) was provided alone, 24 h before surgery and once a day after MI for 4 weeks. Echocardiography was measured in each group before the surgery and 4 weeks after the surgery to test heart function change. The hearts were harvested for HE staining and immunohistochemical studies after MI and cell transplantation for 4 weeks. Results: Our data showed that cardiac function was significantly improved by hMSC transplantation in rabbit infarcted hearts 4 weeks after MI (ejection fraction: 0.695±0.038 in the cell treated group ( n =12) versus 0.554±0.065 in the control group ( n =13) ( P <0.05). Surviving hMSCs were identified by BrdU positive spots in infarcted region and transdifferentiated into cardiomyocytes characterized with a positive cardiac phenotype: troponin. I. Conclusion: Transplantation of hMSCs could transdifferentiate into cardiomyocytes and regenerate vascular structures, contributing to functional improvement.
Skin-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Alleviate Atherosclerosis via Modulating Macrophage Function

Abstract:Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) exhibit immunosuppressive efficacy and significantly inhibit the formation of the atherosclerosis (AS) plaque in apolipoprotein E-knockout (apoE(-/-)) mice. Of note, the largest lymphoid organ, the skin, provides a readily accessible and ideal source of tissue for the isolation of MSCs: skin-derived MSCs (S-MSCs). However, the effect and the mechanism of the therapeutic properties of S-MSCs in the progression of AS are unclear. We therefore investigated a direct effect of S-MSC treatment in the formation of atherosclerotic plaque in apoE(-/-) mice. Fifty apoE(-/-) mice were divided into four groups: the control group (AS), the S-MSC treatment group (S-MSC treatment), the nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB)(-/-)-S-MSC treatment group (KO-S-MSC treatment), and the additional S-MSC migration group. Brachiocephalic artery ultrasound biomicroscope (UBM) analysis showed that S-MSC treatment significantly reduced lesion size compared with the control groups (p < .01). Histological studies demonstrated that the plaque area of the mouse aortic arch was significantly decreased after S-MSC treatment. All alterations were dependent on NF-κB activation. After tail-vein injection, S-MSCs were capable of migrating to atherosclerotic plaque and selectively taking up residence near macrophages. S-MSC treatment reduced the release of the proinflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and increased the expression of the anti-inflammatory factor interleukin (IL)-10 in the atherosclerotic plaque, which was also dependent on NF-κB activation. In vitro, we found lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced NF-κB-dependent expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in S-MSCs. Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) expression was markedly increased after LPS-stimulated S-MSCs were cocultured with macrophages. LPS-stimulated macrophages produced less TNF-α/IL-1β and more IL-10 when cultured with S-MSCs, and although both were dependent upon NF-κB, the release of IL-10 was diminished if the S-MSCs were pretreated with a COX-2 inhibitor or an EP2/EP4 antagonist. Our data demonstrated that S-MSCs inhibited the formation of the atherosclerotic plaque in apoE(-/-) mice by modulating the functionality of macrophages, suggesting that S-MSCs may potentially have a role in stem cell-based therapy for AS. Significance: A combination of in vitro and in vivo experiments showed that skin-derived mesenchymal stem cells (S-MSCs) can attenuate the plaque size of atherosclerosis. This is probably because S-MSCs beneficially modulate the response of macrophages through an increased release of prostaglandin E2 acting on the EP2 and EP4 receptors of the macrophages, stimulating the production and release of the anti-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-10, and decreasing the production of proinflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor-α. S-MSCs inhibited the formation of the atherosclerotic plaque in apolipoprotein E-knockout mice by modulating the functionality of macrophages, and the suppressive property of S-MSCs is dependent on NF-κB signaling. This study provides direct evidence that S-MSCs have a potent immunosuppressive effect in the development of atherosclerosis in mice, suggesting that S-MSCs can easily be cultured and have similar function to bone marrow-derived MSCs, a promising cell source for stem cell-based therapies of atherosclerosis, and possibly also in transplantation.
Mesenchymal Stem Cell Transplantation Alleviated Atherosclerosis in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Through Reducing MDSCs

Abstract:Objective: The mechanism by which mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) transplantation alleviates atherosclerosis in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) remains elusive. In this study, we aim to explore the efficacy and mechanism of MSC in ameliorating atherosclerosis in SLE. Methods: ApoE(-/-) and Fas(-/-) mice on the B6 background were cross-bred to generate SLE mice with atherosclerosis. Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) were sorted and quantified. The apoE(-/-)Fas(-/-) mice were either treated with anti-Gr antibody or injected with MDSCs. The lupus-like autoimmunity and atherosclerotic lesions were evaluated. Furthermore, the apoE(-/-)Fas(-/-) mice were transplanted with MSCs and lupus-like autoimmunity and atherosclerotic lesions were assessed. Results: MDSCs in peripheral blood, spleen, draining lymph nodes increased in apoE(-/-)Fas(-/-) mice compared with B6 mice. Moreover, the adoptive transfer of MDSCs aggravated both atherosclerosis and SLE pathologies, whereas depleting MDSCs ameliorated those pathologies in apoE(-/-)Fas(-/-) mice. MSC transplantation in apoE(-/-)Fas(-/-) mice decreased the percentage of MDSCs, alleviated the typical atherosclerotic lesions, including atherosclerotic lesions in aortae and liver, and reduced serum cholesterol, triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein levels. MSC transplantation also reduced SLE pathologies, including splenomegaly, glomerular lesions, anti-dsDNA antibody in serum, urine protein and serum creatinine. Moreover, MSC transplantation regulated the generation and function of MDSCs through secreting prostaglandin E 2 (PGE2). Conclusion: Taken together, these results indicated that the increased MDSCs contributed to atherosclerosis in SLE. MSC transplantation ameliorated the atherosclerosis and SLE through reducing MDSCs by secreting PGE2.

Abstract:Background: Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) transplantation is a promising strategy in the treatment of myocardial infarction (MI). However, the time for transplanting cells remains controversial. The aim of this study was to find an optimal time point for cell transplantation. Methods: MSCs were isolated and cultured from Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. MI model was set up in SD rats by permanent ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery. MSCs were directly injected into the infarct border zone at 1 h, 1 week and 2 weeks after MI, respectively. Sham-operated and MI control groups received equal volume of phosphate buffered saline (PBS). At 4 weeks after MI, cardiac function was assessed by echocardiography; vessel density was analyzed on hematoxylin-eosin stained slides by light microscopy; the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes was evaluated by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling (TUNEL) assay; the expressions of proteins were analyzed by Western blot. Results: MSC transplantation improved cardiac function, reduced the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes and increased vessel density. These benefits were more obvious in 1-week group than in 1-h and 2-week groups. There are more obvious increases in the ratio of bcl-2/bax and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and more obvious decreases in the expression of cleaved-caspase-3 in 1-week group than those in other two groups. Conclusion: MSC transplantation was beneficial for the recovery of cardiac function. MSC transplantation at 1 week post-MI exerted the best effects on increases of cardiac function, anti-apoptosis and angiogenesis.
A new bilirubin-degrading enzyme from orange peels.

Abstract:A novel enzyme activity that catalyzes the degradation of unconjugated bilirubin (Bu) has been demonstrated in extracts of the peels of edible oranges. Unlike the few known bilirubin-oxidizing enzymes, the orange enzyme does not produce biliverdin as a product, does not seem to require oxygen, and has a unique absorption spectrum of its products. Even at the crude stage, the enzyme has a specific activity that is 10 and 20 times higher, respectively, than those reported for the crude or partially purified Bu-degrading enzymes from mushrooms and rat liver. The enzyme has a pH optimum near 7.5 and a Km value of 50-100 microM for Bu. The enzyme is remarkably stable, retaining over 50% activity after prolonged digestion with proteinase K or heating at 100 degrees C. Similar treatments inactivated the bilirubin oxidase from Myrothecium verrucaria MT-1. The enzyme is poorly soluble in water but can be partially solubilized with cholic acid, with a doubling in specific activity.

The mathematical sources for the work of Karush, John, Kuhn, and Tucker are traced and compared. Their results are illustrated by duality theorems for nonlinear programs that antedate the modern development of the subject.

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the survival of ex vivo expanded bone marrow stromal cells(MSCs) in ischemic myocardium and its therapeutic potential for myocardial remodeling.Method:The MSCs obtained from adult rabbit leg were isolated by density-gradient centrifugation, the second generatons were harvested and labled with 4,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole(DAPI).Myocardial infarction(MI) was induced by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery. The 2×106 MSCs labled by DAPI 8 rabbits were injected drectly into ischemic myocardium in 8 rabbits(MSCs group) 3 days after MI, 6 other rabbits(control group)received culture media. The echocardiography was performed just before and 1 week,4weeks after MSCs being implanted.The myocardium samples were harvesded at 4weeks after MSCs implantation to examin the scope of ischemic myocardium and the area of infarction.The implanted MSCs labled DAPI were investigated by fluorescence microscope. The scar degree of two group was campared by Masson's stainning. Result:The implanted MSCs were survial in ischemic area and incorporated into local myocardium confirmed by fluorescence microscope;Echocardiograpy displayed ventricular dimensions changes that were significantly smaller in MSCs group than that in the control group in 4 weeks [ΔEDV ( 0.27±0.11)ml vs (0.46±0.14) ml,P 0.05; ΔESV (0.17 ±0.13) ml vs (0.32±0.11) ml,P 0.05];the regional wall motion was better preserved in the MSCs group; the average ischemic scope and infarction area were significantly smaller in MSCs group than that in the control group in 4 weeks(14.70±0.04)%vs( 19.6± 0.09)%, P 0.05; (4.43±1.0)%vs(13.72±0.92)%,P 0.05);moreover,the extent of left ventricular scarring was siginificantly less in MSCs group than that in controls. Conclousion:The MSCs expanded ex vivo can be survival and incorporation into ischemic area ,and they can also reduce the myocardium remodeling.

Abstract:A novel assay was developed for the simultaneous monitoring of quantum dots and their assembly and disassembly with PreScission protease using capillary electrophoresis with fluorescence detection. Quantum dots and PreScission protease were injected into a capillary sequentially, then mixed and assembled via a thioether bond upon coupling to glutathione S-transferase tag inside the capillary. The in-capillary assembly was influenced by the molar ratio and the time interval of injection. Furthermore, the simultaneous monitoring of quantum dots and their assembly with PreScission protease and glutathione induced disassembly was achieved by adjusting the sampling sequence and the time interval of injection. More importantly, the in-capillary assay could be also applied to the online detection of glutathione.
Performance Analysis of KMV-Cast with Imperfect Prior Knowledge

Abstract:It is predicted that the global mobile data traffic will increase nearly eightfold in the next five years, and the cloud applications will consist of 90 percent of total mobile data traffic by the end of 2019. There is no doubt that the increasing high quality video requirements and huge similar information stored in cloud servers enforce to setup a new communication paradigm. In this paper, we will take a brief review over the knowledge-enhanced mobile video broadcasting (KMV-Cast) framework, and analyze its performance with imperfect prior knowledge, which means that the prior knowledge will be transmitted through Gaussian channel. The simulation results have shown that KMV-Cast with imperfect prior knowledge performs the worst compared with the other two schemes in terms of PSNR. It indicates that the prior knowledge is very important for the video reconstruction in KMV-Cast. Meanwhile, with the SNR increasing for prior knowledge transmission, the performance still performs poor and has an optimum point.
