Abstract:Exposure to ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation is a major risk factor for the development of skin cancer. Therefore, it is important to identify agents that can offer protection against UVB-caused DNA damage. Photocarcinogenesis is caused largely by mutations at the sites of incorrectly repaired DNA photoproducts, of which the most common are the cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPDs). In this study, a DNA damage model of UVB irradiation-induced fibroblasts was established. The immunocytochemical staining, immuno dot blotting and Western blotting were employed in the study. We demonstrated that pre-treatment of fibroblasts with Baicalin dose-dependently reduced the amount of UVB-generated CPDs. Compared with UVB irradiated cells, UVB-induced p53 accumulation was less pronounced in Baicalin-treated cells. Taken together, these results suggest that Baicalin prevent CPDs formation induced by UVB. Baicalin is therefore a promising protective substance against UVB radiation.
Effects of baicalin against UVA-induced photoaging in skin fibroblasts

Abstract:Ultraviolet A (UVA) radiation contributes to skin photoaging. Baicalin, a plant-derived flavonoid, effectively absorbs UV rays and has been shown to have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may delay the photoaging process. In the current study, cultured human skin fibroblasts were incubated with 50 μg/ml baicalin 24 hours prior to 10 J/cm(2) UVA irradiation. In order to examine the efficacy of baicalin treatment in delaying UVA-induced photoaging, we investigated aging-related markers, cell cycle changes, anti-oxidant activity, telomere length, and DNA damage markers. UVA radiation caused an increased proportion of β-Gal positive cells and reduced telomere length in human skin fibroblasts. In addition, UVA radiation inhibited TGF-β1 secretion, induced G1 phase arrest, reduced SOD and GSH-Px levels, increased MDA levels, enhanced the expression of MMP-1, TIMP-1, p66, p53, and p16 mRNA, reduced c-myc mRNA expression, elevated p53 and p16 protein expression, and reduced c-myc protein expression. Baicalin treatment effectively protected human fibroblasts from these UVA radiation-induced aging responses, suggesting that the underlying mechanism involves the inhibition of oxidative damage and regulation of the expression of senescence-related genes, including those encoding for p53, p66(Shc) and p16.

Abstract:Background: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a major eye degenerative disease, ultimately causes irreversible vision loss. Baicalin was identified to attenuate laser-induced chorodial neovascularization, indicating a therapeutic role in AMD. However, the exact mechanisms for baicalin in AMD remain unknown. Methods: MTT assay was performed to access the suitable concentration of baicalin or A beta for treating ARPE-19 cells. CCK-8, morphology, and flow cytometry analysis were performed to evaluate cell viability and pyroptosis of baicalin in A beta-envoked ARPE-19 cells. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis were subjected to measure the correlation between miR-223 and NLRP3. Luciferase reporter assay was performed to determine their direct relationship. Western blot analysis was subjected to determine pyroptosis-related proteins. Results: Baicalin inhibited A beta-envoked pyroptosis in ARPE-19 cells. Mechanistically, baicalin significantly induced upregulation of miR-223 and downregulation of NLRP3, thus suppressing pyroptosis triggered by NLRP3 inflammasome signaling, yet such beneficial effects were reversed by miR-223 knockdown. Additionally, MCC950, a NLRP3 inhibitor, restored anti-pyroptosis activity of baicalin under miR-223 silencing. Conclusion: Baicalin alleviates intracellular pyroptosis and viability damage resulted from A beta inducement in human retinal pigment epithelium cells via negative crosstalk of miR-223/NLRP3 inflammasome signaling, indicating that baicalin may be considered as a potential candidate for AMD therapy.
The protective effect of baicalin against UVB irradiation induced photoaging: an in vitro and in vivo study

Abstract:Objective: This study was aimed to evaluate the anti-photoaging effects of baicalin on Ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced photoaging in the dorsal skin of hairless mice and premature senescence in human dermal fibroblasts. Methods: We established in vivo and in vitro photoaging models by repeated exposures to UVB irradiation. By HE staining, masson staining, immunohistostaing and real-time RT-PCR, we analyzed epidermal thickness, collagen expression and the mRNA and protein levels of type I collagen, type III collagen, interstitial collagenase (MMP-1 and MMP-3) in UVB exposed dorsal mice skin. The aging condition in human dermal fibroblasts was determined by senescence-associated β-galactosidase (SA-β-gal) staining. Cell viability was determined using the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8). The G1 phase cell growth arrest was analyzed by flow cytometry. The senescence-related protein levels of p16INK-4a, p21WAF-1, and p53 and protein levels of phosphorylated histone H2AX were estimated by Western blotting. Results: Topically application of baicalin treatment reduced UVB-induced epidermal thickening of mouse skin and also result in an increase in the production of collagen I and III, and a decrease in the expression of MMP-1 and MMP-3. Compared with the UVB-irradiated group, we found that the irradiated fibroblasts additionally treated with baicalin demonstrated a decrease in the expression of SA-β-gal, a increase in the cell viability, a decrease in the G1 phase cell proportion, a downregulation in the level of senescence-associated and γ-H2AX proteins. However, Baicalin had no difference in the normal fibroblasts without UVB irradiation and long-term Baicalin incubation of UVB-SIPS fibroblasts gave no effects on the cell proliferation. Conclusions: Taken together, these results suggest that baicalin significantly antagonizes photoaging induced by UVB in vivo and in vitro, indicating the potential of baicalin application for anti-photoaging treatment.
Induction of Autophagy by Baicalin Through the AMPK-mTOR Pathway Protects Human Skin Fibroblasts from Ultraviolet B Radiation-Induced Apoptosis

Abstract:Background: Baicalin, a natural product isolated from Scutellaria radix, has been reported to exert anti-oxidant and anti-apoptotic effects on skin, but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. This study aimed to investigate the possible mechanism of anti-UVB effect of baicalin in human skin fibroblasts. Methods: Cell proliferation was estimated by CCK-8 Kit. Apoptotic incidence was detected by flow cytometry with Annexin V-PE/PI apoptosis detection kit. Autophagy was determined by the evaluation of fluorescent LC3 puncta and Western blotting. Cell signalling was analysed by Western blotting. Results: Baicalin exerted cytoprotective effects in UVB-induced HSFs. Moreover, baicalin increased autophagy and suppressed UVB-induced apoptosis of HSFs. Pretreatment with 3-MA, an autophagy inhibitor, attenuated baicalin-induced HSFs autophagy and promoted apoptosis. Baicalin activated AMPK, which leads to suppression of basal mTOR activity in cultured HSFs. Administration of compound C, an AMPK inhibitor, abrogated AMPK phosphorylation and increased mTOR phosphorylation and apoptosis compared with baicalin alone. Conclusion: Taken together, these results indicate the important role of mTOR inhibition in UVB protection by baicalin and provide a new target and strategy for better prevention of UV-induced skin disorders.
Baicalin Promoted the Repair of DNA Single Strand Breakage Caused by H2O2 in Cultured NIH3T3 Fibroblasts.

Abstract:The protective effect of Baicalin, a flavonoid isolated from the root of Scutellaria baicalensis G., on H2O2-induced DNA single strand break (SSB) was examined in NIH3T3 mouse fibroblasts by Comet assay (single cell gel electrophoresis technique). When the cells were pulse-chased with H2O2 (0.1-0.5 mM) for 15 min in fetal bovine serum (FBS)-free Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM), SSB occurred in the DNA as reported elsewhere in dose-dependent manner. Baicalin (50, 100 micro M) which was incubated with the cells for 24 h before the H2O2 chase did not give rise to significant protection against the SSB formation. However, when the time required to cause a change in the DNA damage histogram obtained by the Comet assay was precisely examined after the H2O2 chase, it was found that the H2O2 induced SSB was more promptly repaired in the cells pretreated with Baicalin prior to the H2O2 chase, compared to untreated control cells. At the same time, the cell viability examined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl) 2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) (MTT) assay after the H2O2 abuse was moderately recovered in the Baicalin increased by the Baicalin treatment. It was thus concluded that Baicalin that was known as an antioxidant flavonoid in vitro also functions as a biological response modifier, improving the cellular repair potential of oxidatively damaged DNA.

Baicalin Attenuates Proinflammatory Cytokine Production In Oxygen-Glucose Deprived Challenged Rat Microglial Cells By Inhibiting Tlr4 Signaling Pathway

Abstract:Baicalin, a flavonoid compound isolated from Scutellariae radix, has been shown to possess a number of pharmacological effects. The aim of the present study was to observe the inhibitory effects of baicalin on the activation of microglial cells induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) and the specific mechanisms by which these effects are mediated. Cultured rat primary microglial cells were exposed to baicalin at final concentrations of 10 mu g/ml, 20 mu g/ml and 40 mu g/ml during 4 h of OGD. The effects of baicalin on (i) cell viability; (ii) secretion of proinflammatory cytokines; (iii) TIr4 mRNA expression; (iv) p-c-jun, p-ERK1/2, p-INK, p-p38, TRAF6 and p-I kappa B-alpha levels; and (v) co-localization of TLR4 and MyD88 were evaluated using the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), western blot and double-labeled immunofluorescence staining, respectively. OGD increased cell viability and release of TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, IL-6 and IL-8, these effects were suppressed by baicalin. Baicalin also attenuated the OGD-induced increases in Tlr4 mRNA expression. In addition, high dose of baicalin reduced TRAF6 levels remarkably. Furthermore, baicalin also downregulated phosphotylation of I kappa B-alpha, c-jun, ERK1/2, JNK, p38 and inhibited the OGD-induced transfer of MyD88 from cytoplasm to membrane in microglial cells. The results show that baicalin can inhibit OGD-induced production of inflammatory factors in microglial cells by attenuating inflammatory factors and regulating the TLR4 signaling pathways. Abstract:Among the 282 neuroblastomas treated at the Institut Gustave-Roussy between 1982 and 1987, 38 dumbbell forms were observed. Therapeutic approaches included: 1) An initial laminectomy in forms with neurological deficit; 2) Surgical excision of the primary tumor; 3) Preoperative chemotherapy for metastatic forms and non-metastatic forms in which primary tumors considered unresectable at diagnosis; 4) Radiation therapy on macroscopic residual disease. Twenty three of 38 children presented with a neurological deficit. A laminectomy was performed in 21 cases. Neurological recovery was good in 8 cases, partial in 5 cases and absent in 5 cases. Three patients were aggravated after the procedure. The event free survival was 76%. This high survival rate is linked with: 1) The predominantly non metastatic stages (25/38); 2) A high proportion of children under 1 year of age (25/38); 3) A high proportion of thoracic locations. Out of the 29 survivors, there were 10 cases of major neurological sequelae (34%) and 9 cases of major orthopedic sequelae (31%). The coexistence of a serious functional prognosis and an excellent vital prognosis led us to analyse the therapeutic modalities and reevaluate the necessity of routine initial neurosurgical excision by laminectomy, and using a first line chemotherapy in selected indications.
Baicalin Ameliorates Imiquimod-Induced Psoriasis-Like Inflammation in Mice

Abstract:Abstract Baicalin is the main flavonoid from the roots of an important medicinal plant, Scutellaria baicalensis, which shows a variety biological activities. Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease that affects the skin. The unmet need of psoriasis is that many patients do not respond adequately to available clinical treatment. In this study, we found that baicalin showed inhibited dermal inflammation in a murine model of psoriasis via topical application of imiquimod. After a 5-day topical imiquimod application, baicalin or the control vehicle cream was to applied to the lesions of BALB/c mice for a further 4 days. The erythema, scaling, and thickness of the epidermal layer significantly improved in the baicalin-treated mice. The levels of interleukin-17A, interleukin-22, interleukin-23, and tumor necrosis factor in the skin significantly decreased after baicalin treatment. Baicalin also inhibited imiquimod-induced interleukin-17A production in skin draining lymph node cells. The infiltration of γδ T cells into the skin lesions induced by imiquimod was also suppressed after baicalin treatment. These results suggest that baicalin inhibited skin inflammation through the inhibition of the interleukin-17/interleukin-23 axis in a murine model of psoriasis.

Abstract:Network pharmacology and molecular docking were used to predict the active components from Ilex latifolia Thunb. and their possible pathways against UVB radiation. Flavonoids from Ilex latifolia Thunb. were focused as the active components against UVB radiation. PI3K‐AKT, JAK‐STAT3, NF‐κB, and MAPK anti‐inflammatory signal pathways were focused as the possible ways for the flavonoids against UVB radiation. Cytological experiment verified the above predictions. The aim of the present research is to investigate anti‐UVB radiation activity of total flavonoids from Ilex latifolia Thunb. (namely large‐leaved Kuding tea) on human keratinocyte cell line (HaCaT cells) based on network pharmacology and molecular docking technique. Network pharmacology was used to screen target genes of active ingredients from Ilex latifolia Thunb. associated with UVB irradiation. The possible signaling pathways were analyzed by KEGG enrichment and verified by cellular experiments. Molecular docking was used to assess the affinity between the active ingredients and the core targets. The prediction of network pharmacology and molecular docking was identified by series experiment in UVB‐irradiated HaCaT cells. Network pharmacology results showed that the active ingredients of Ilex latifolia Thunb. for anti‐UVB irradiation were mainly flavonoids, and the possible signaling pathways were involved in PI3K‐AKT, apoptosis, MAPKs, NF‐κB, and JAK‐STAT3. Molecular docking indicated key binding activity between AKT1‐Glycitein, STAT3‐Formononetin, CASP3‐Formononetin, TNF‐Kaempferol, CASP3‐Luteolin, and AKT1‐Quercetin. The total flavonoid pretreatment (0.25–1.0 mg/mL) down‐regulated the expression of IL‐6, IL‐1β, and TNF‐α in the cells determined by ELISA. The expression of phosphor PI3K, phosphor AKT, phosphor JAK, phosphor STAT3, phosphor JNK, and phosphor p38 MAPKs and COX‐2 proteins in cytosolic and NF‐κB p65 protein in nucleus were down‐regulated and determined by western blot. It also protected UVB‐irradiated cells from apoptosis by reducing apoptosis rate and down‐regulating active‐caspase 3. In a word, the total flavonoid treatment protected HaCaT cells from UVB injuries effectively, and the potential mechanism involves PI3K‐AKT, JAK‐STAT3, MAPK, and NF‐κB pathway by anti‐inflammatory and apoptosis action in cells. The mechanism in vivo experiment needs to be further confirmed in future.

Protective Effects of Quercetin on UVB Irradiation-Induced Cytotoxicity Through ROS Clearance in Keratinocyte Cells

Abstract:Human skin is the body's largest organ that protects against diverse environmental injuries. However, ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which induces a transient increase in the intracellular level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and leads to a variety of injuries and various skin diseases, has deleterious effects on living organisms. Quercetin is a naturally occurring compound with strong antioxidant action and can successfully scavenge free radicals. In the present study, we investigated the effects and the mechanism of quercetin on UVB-induced cytotoxicity in keratinocyte (HaCaT) cells. The results of this study showed that quercetin (20 mu M) significantly blocked UVB irradiation (15 mJ/cm(2))-induced intracellular ROS generation. In addition, the ROS clearing ability of quercetin prevented cell membrane and mitochondria from ROS attack and inhibited cell membrane fluidity decrease and mitochondrial membrane depolarization. Moreover, the outflow of cytochrome c and apoptosis were markedly inhibited. These results suggest that the protective effect of quercetin against UVB irradiation-induced toxicity is mainly mediated by the ROS scavenging ability. Thus, quercetin is a potential agent against UVB irradiation-induced skin damage.
Effects of Baicalin Cream in Two Mouse Models: 2,4-Dinitrofluorobenzene-induced Contact Hypersensitivity and Mouse Tail Test for Psoriasis.

Abstract:BACKGROUND:Scutellaria baicalensis is a Chinese herbal medicine that has been used for centuries to treat psoriasis. Baicalin is one of the major flavonoids and bioactive components of S. baicalensis and is responsible for the pharmacologic actions of the plant.OBJECTIVE:This study aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect and keratinocyte differentiation-inducing activity of baicalin in vivo.METHODS:Baicalin was formulated into topical creams at concentrations of 1%, 3%, and 5%. The anti-inflammatory effect of baicalin cream was evaluated in 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB)-induced contact hypersensitivity (CHS) mice, and its keratinocyte-modulating action was assessed using the mouse tail model for psoriasis.RESULTS:During the topical application of baicalin cream, no evidence of irritant effect was observed in both tests. In the inflammation model, mice exposed to baicalin cream displayed a reduction in DNFB-induced CHS responses compared with vehicle-treated animals, showing that the topical application of baicalin cream exerted an anti-inflammatory effect. In the second model, baicalin cream dose-dependently increased the orthokeratosis of granular layers and the relative epidermal thickness of mouse tail skin, indicative of the keratinocyte differentiation-inducing activity of this topical preparation.CONCLUSIONS:Taking the in vivo findings together, the present study indicated that baicalin cream may be a promising antipsoriatic agent worthy of further investigation for psoriasis treatment.
Baicalin ameliorates 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene-induced atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions in mice through modulating skin barrier function, gut microbiota and JAK/STAT pathway

Abstract:Baicalin has distinct therapeutic effects in various skin diseases animal models such as atopic dermatitis (AD) and psoriasis. In this study, we aimed to investigate the anti-atopic dermatitis (AD) effects of baicalin in 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB)-treated mice. Female BALB/c mice treated with DNCB to induce AD-like skin lesions and orally administrated with baicalin daily for 14 consecutive days. Baicalin significantly inhibited dorsal skin thickness and trans-epidermal water loss and epidermal thickness in dorsal skin. In addition, baicalin also significantly up-regulated the protein expressions of filaggrin, involucrin, and loricrin, but inhibited the inflammatory response and the activation of NF-κB and JAK/STAT pathways in the dorsal skin of the DNCB-treated mice. Furthermore, baicalin significantly restored the abundance of probiotics in the gut microbiota of the DNCB-treated mice. Pseudo germ-free (GF) DNCB-treated mice receiving fecal microbiota from baicalin donors reduced the dorsal skin thickness and skin EASI score, and inhibited the release of IgE, histamine, TNF-α and IL-4 in serum of mice. In summary, baicalin ameliorates AD-like skin lesions induced by DNCB in mice via regulation of the Th1/Th2 balance, improvement of skin barrier function and modulation of gut dysbiosis, and inhibition of inflammation through suppressing the activation of NF-κB and JAK/STAT pathways.

Abstract:Renal ischemia-reperfusion injury plays a key role in renal transplantation and greatly affects the outcome of allograft. Our previous study proved that Baicalin, a flavonoid glycoside isolated from Scutellaria baicalensis, protects kidney from ischemia-reperfusion injury. This study aimed to study the underlying mechanism in vitro. Human renal proximal tubular epithelial cell line HK-2 cells were stimulated by H2O2 with and without Baicalin pretreatment. The cell viability, apoptosis and oxidative stress level were measured. The expression of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress hallmarks, such as binding immunoglobulin protein (BiP) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), were analyzed by western blot and real-time PCR. NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) expression was also measured. In the H2O2 group, cell viability decreased and cell apoptosis increased. Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and Glutathione/Oxidized Glutathione (GSH/GSSG) analysis revealed increased oxidative stress. ER stress and Nrf2 signaling also increased. Baicalin pretreatment ameliorated H2O2-induced cytotoxicity, reduced oxidative stress and ER stress and further activated the anti-oxidative Nrf2 signaling pathway. The inducer of ER stress and the inhibitor of Nrf2 abrogated the protective effects, while the inhibitor of ER stress and the inducer of Nrf2 did not improve the outcome. This study revealed that Baicalin pretreatment serves a protective role against H2O2-induced cytotoxicity in HK-2 cells, where the inhibition of ER stress and the activation of downstream Nrf2 signaling are involved.

Abstract:Isoquercitrin attenuates UVB radiation damage in mouse skin by reducing ROS, MDA, IL‐6, IL‐1β, TNF‐α, and COX‐2, enhancing SOD activity, modulating MAPK, AP‐1/MMPs and JAK2‐STAT3 pathways, and inhibiting the activation of caspase‐9 and caspase‐3. Natural products are favored in the study of skin photodamage protection recently. Isoquercetin, namely 3‐O‐glucoside of quercetin, can be isolated from various plant species. In present research, the protective effect of isoquercitrin on UVB‐induced injury in cells and mice skin were investigated. Our study reveals that 400 μM of isoquercitrin exhibits the best viability on UVB‐irradiated HaCaT cells, and beneficial effects against oxidative stress UVB‐induced in skin tissue by decreasing the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and malondialdehyde (MDA), and simultaneously enhancing the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD). Additionally, isoquercitrin was identified as an anti‐inflammatory agent by reducing the level of COX‐2 by Western blot analysis, and inflammatory cytokines such as IL‐6, IL‐1β, and TNF‐α by ELISA, and UVB‐induced epidermal thickening evidenced by H&E staining. It also effectively prevented UVB‐induced collagen fibers from degradation identified by Masson staining. Isoquercitrin significantly inhibited MAPK pathway by downregulating the levels of AP‐1, MMP‐1, MMP‐3, phospho‐p38, phospho‐JNK, phospho‐ERK, cleaved caspase‐9, cleaved caspase‐3, and JAK2‐STAT3 pathway by western blot analysis. In conclusion, isoquercitrin pretreatment protected mice skin from UVB irradiation‐induced injury effectively, and the underlying mechanism may involve MAPK and JAK2‐STAT3 signaling pathways.

Abstract:Reactive oxygen species (ROS) promote oxidative stress, which directly causes molecular damage and disrupts cellular homeostasis, leading to skin aging. Baicalein, a flavonoid compound isolated from the root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi has antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and other medicinal properties. We aimed to investigate the protective effect of baicalein on the disruption of tight junctions and mitochondrial dysfunction caused by H2O2-induced oxidative stress in HaCaT keratinocytes. The cells were pretreated with 20 and 40 μM baicalein followed by treatment with 500 μM H2O2. The results revealed that baicalein exerted antioxidant effects by reducing intracellular ROS production. Baicalein attenuated the degradation of the ECM (MMP-1 and Col1A1) and the disruption of tight junctions (ZO-1, occludin, and claudin-4). In addition, baicalein prevented mitochondrial dysfunction (PGC-1α, PINK1, and Parkin) and restored mitochondrial respiration. Furthermore, baicalein regulated the expression of antioxidant enzymes, including NQO-1 and HO-1, via the Nrf2 signaling pathway. Our data suggest that the cytoprotective effects of baicalein against H2O2-induced oxidative stress may be mediated through the Nrf2/NQO-1/HO-1 signaling pathway. In conclusion, baicalein exerts potent antioxidant effects against H2O2-induced oxidative stress in HaCaT keratinocytes by maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis and cellular tight junctions.

Abstract:Aim To investigate the effects of baicalin on the expression of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4),inhibitor of κB(I-κB),and the production of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in macrophage cells RAW264.7 induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Methods RAW264.7 cells were cultured in vitro,and treated with different concentration of baicalin in the presence or absence of LPS.The mRNA and protein expression of TLR4 were determined by reverse transcription PCR and Western Blot,respectively.The expression of I-κB was detected by Western Blot.The concentrations of TNF-α in the supernatant was determined by enzyme linked immunosorbnent assay.Results LPS significantly up-regulated the expression of TLR4 and production of TNF-α in macrophage cells,and markedly inhibited the expression of I-κB.Pretreated with baicalin down-regulated LPS-induced TLR4 expression in both mRNA and protein levels,as well reduced the secretion of TNF-α.Baicalin significantly inhibited the degradation of I-κB.Conclusion Baicalin might effectively down-regulate TNF-α production in LPS-induced macrophage cells through inhibiting the expression of TLR4 and degradation of I-κB.The antiinflammation effects may be associated with the amelioration of atherosclerosis damage by baicalin.
