Abstract:In this manuscript we consider a special complex torus, denoted $S_{\Delta_{2k}}$ (for each $k \in \mathbb{N},\, k \geq 1$) and called the Dirac spinor torus. It is an Abelian variety of complex dimension $2^{k}$ whose covering space is the space of Dirac spinors, $\Delta_{2k}$, for the Clifford algebra $Cl(\mathbb{C}^{2k})$ associated with the vector space $\mathbb{C}^{2k}$. Fixing an isomorphism $\rho:Cl(\mathbb{C}^{2k})\rightarrow End (\Delta_{2k})$, we define Clifford multiplication on $S_{\Delta_{2k}}$ as the actions of those endomorphisms in the image of $\rho$ that preserve the full rank lattice. We analyze the properties of that Clifford multiplication on the 2-torsion points of the Dirac spinor torus. We identify the Clifford actions with permutation maps that represent all isomorphism classes of these actions on the group of 2-torsion points. We provide a structure theorem describing these isomorphism classes of Clifford actions in a way that is independent of the choice of representatives. We conclude by extending the scope of our analysis to the group of $n$-torsion points and analyzing the fixed points and translation constants of entry-permuting maps, a broader class of actions of which the Clifford actions on the 2-torsion points of $S_{\Delta_{2k}}$ is a subset.

Using the Clifford calculus, we obtain the integral representation theorems for solutions to the equations satisfying certain decay conditions at infinity over unbounded subdomains of Rn+1. Abstract:Rarita-Schwinger equation plays an important role in theoretical physics. Bure\v s et al. generalized it to arbitrary spin $k/2$ in 2002 in the context of Clifford algebras. In this article, we introduce the mean value property, Cauchy's estimates, and Liouville's theorem for null solutions to Rarita-Schwinger operator in Euclidean spaces. Further, we investigate boundednesses to the Teodorescu transform and its derivatives. This gives rise to a Hodge decomposition of an $L^2$ spaces in terms of the kernel space of the Rarita-Schwinger operator and it also generalizes Bergman spaces in higher spin cases. \end{abstract}

Abstract:The internal degrees of freedom of fermions are in the spin-charge-family theory described by the Clifford algebra objects, which are superposition of an odd number of $\gamma^a$'s. Arranged into irreducible representations of "eigenvectors" of the Cartan subalgebra of the Lorentz algebra $S^{ab}$ $(= \frac{i}{2} \gamma^a \gamma^b|_{a \ne b})$ these objects form $2^{\frac{d}{2}-1}$ families with $2^{\frac{d}{2}-1}$ family members each. Family members of each family offer the description of all the observed quarks and leptons and antiquarks and antileptons, appearing in families. Families are reachable by $\tilde{S}^{ab}$ $=\frac{1}{2} \tilde{\gamma}^a \tilde{\gamma}^b|_{a \ne b}$. Creation operators, carrying the family member and family quantum numbers form the basic vectors. The action of the operators $\gamma^a$'s, $S^{ab}$, $\tilde{\gamma}^a$'s and $\tilde{S}^{ab}$, applying on the basic vectors, manifests as matrices. In this paper the basic vectors in $d=(3+1)$ Clifford space are discussed, chosen in a way that the matrix representations of $\gamma^a$ and of $S^{ab}$ coincide for each family quantum number, determined by $\tilde{S}^{ab} $, with the Dirac matrices. The appearance of charges in Clifford space is discussed by embedding $d=(3+1)$ space into $d=(5+1)$-dimensional space.

Bosonic Laplacians in higher spin Clifford analysis

Abstract:In this article, we firstly introduce higher spin Clifford analysis, which are considered as generalizations of classical Clifford analysis by considering functions taking values in irreducible representations of the spin group. Then, we introduce a type of second order conformally invariant differential operators, named as bosonic Laplacians, in the higher spin Clifford analysis. In particular, we will show their close connections to classical Maxwell equations. At the end, we will introduce a new perspective to define bosonic Laplacians, which simplifies the connection between bosonic Laplacians and Rarita-Schwinger type operators obtained before. Moreover, a matrix type Rarita-Schwinger operator is obtained and some results related to this new first order matrix type operator are provided.

Conformal Invariance of Clifford Monogenic Functions in the Indefinite Signature Case

Abstract:We extend constructions of classical Clifford analysis to the case of indefinite non-degenerate quadratic forms. Clifford analogues of complex holomorphic functions - called monogenic functions - are defined by means of the Dirac operators that factor a certain wave operator. One of the fundamental features of quaternionic analysis is the invariance of quaternionic analogues of holomorphic function under conformal (or Mobius) transformations. A similar invariance property is known to hold in the context of Clifford algebras associated to positive definite quadratic forms. We generalize these results to the case of Clifford algebras associated to all non-degenerate quadratic forms. This result puts the indefinite signature case on the same footing as the classical positive definite case.

On Hamiltonian formulations of the Dirac system

Abstract:We extend a previously successful discussion of the constrained Schrödinger system through the Dirac--Bergmann algorithm to the case of the Dirac field. In order to follow the analogy, first we discuss the classical Dirac field as a spinorial variable, by introducing properly defined momenta and a suitably modified, factor ordered Poisson bracket. According to the Dirac--Bergmann algorithm two second class Hamiltonian constraints emerge, leading to a factor ordered Dirac bracket on the full phase space. This becomes the Poisson bracket on the reduced phase space in the canonical chart adapted to the shell. The Dirac equation is recovered both as consistency condition on the full phase space and as canonical equation on the reduced phase space. Alternatively, considering the Dirac field as odd Grassmann variable, we present the details of the Dirac--Bergmann algorithm (with either left and righ derivatives acting on Grassmann valued superfunctions and involving a different type of generalized Poisson and Dirac brackets). We propose a recipe for the canonical second quantization of all three versions of the generalized Dirac brackets, yielding the correct fundamental anticommutator.

In this paper, we study higher order higher spin operators defined on some conformally flat manifolds, namely cylinders and Hopf manifolds. We will also construct the kernels of these operators on these manifolds.

Abstract:Let ${\mathsf D}$ and ${\mathsf H}$ be the self-adjoint, one-dimensional Dirac and Schrödinger operators in $L^{2}(\mathbb{R};\mathbb{C}^{2})$ and $L^{2}(\mathbb{R};\mathbb{C})$ respectively. It is well known that, in absence of an external potential, the two operators are related through the equality ${\mathsf D}^2 = ({\mathsf H} + \frac{1}{4}){\mathbb 1}$. We show that such a kind of relation also holds in the case of $n$-point singular perturbations: given any self-adjoint realization $\widehat {\mathsf D}$ of the formal sum ${\mathsf D}+\sum_{k=1}^{n}\gamma_{k}\delta_{y_{k}}$, we explicitly determine the self-adjoint realization $\widehat{\mathsf H}$ of ${\mathsf H}{\mathbb 1}+\sum_{k=1}^{n}(\alpha_{k}\delta_{y_{k}}+\beta_{k}\delta'_{y_{k}})$ such that ${\widehat{\mathsf D}}^2 = \widehat{\mathsf H} + \frac{\mathbb 1}{4}$. The found correspondence preserves the subclasses of self-adjoint realizations corresponding to both the local and the separating boundary conditions. Some connections with supersymmetry are provided. The case of nonlocal boundary conditions allows the study of the relation ${\mathsf D}^{2}={\mathsf H}+\frac14$ for quantum graphs with (at most) two ends; in particular, the square of the extension corresponding to Kirchhoff-type boundary conditions for the Dirac operator on the graph gives the direct sum of two Schrödinger operators on the same graph, one with the usual Kirchhoff boundary conditions and the other with a sort of reversed Kirchhoff ones.

Abstract:The paper analyzes time propagation of Dirac observables - using Heisenberg representation - in the light of various pseudodifferential operator algebras (cf. [Co3], [Co15], [Co16]). Our theory gives (i) a mechanical angular momentum (the spin), but also (ii) another real 3-vector, travelling with the particle, with magnetic properties (its motion guided by the magnetic field around it, but not in the proper relativistic way). The above is discussed for potentials vanishing at infinity. But we also look at a Dirac particle in the field of a plane polarized X-ray wave, trying to analyze the Compton effect. The propagations of energy and momentum (in the X-ray's direction) are coupled - they allow a joint asymptotic expansion with terms representing change of energy by $nh\nu$ and momentum by $nh\nu/c$, with n=0,1,2, ..., valid for large frequencies, i.e., large momentum coordinates. Possible interpretation: A collision of the electron-positron with 0, 1, 2, ... n Photons of energy $h\nu$, affecting a change of energy-momentum. Note, this does not require QFT.

Abstract:In this paper we start the study of Schur analysis for Cauchy–Fueter regular quaternionic-valued functions, i.e. null solutions of the Cauchy–Fueter operator in . The novelty of the approach developed in this paper is that we consider axially regular functions, i.e. functions spanned by the so-called Clifford-Appell polynomials. This type of functions arises naturally from two well-known extension results in hypercomplex analysis: the Fueter mapping theorem and the generalized Cauchy–Kovalevskaya (GCK) extension. These results allow one to obtain axially regular functions starting from analytic functions of one real or complex variable. Precisely, in the Fueter theorem two operators play a role. The first one is the so-called slice operator, which extends holomorphic functions of one complex variable to slice hyperholomorphic functions of a quaternionic variable. The second operator is the Laplace operator in four real variables, that maps slice hyperholomorphic functions to axially regular functions. On the other hand, the generalized CK-extension gives a characterization of axially regular functions in terms of their restriction to the real line. In this paper we use these two extensions to define two notions of rational function in the regular setting. For our purposes, the notion coming from the generalized CK-extension is the most suitable. Our results allow to consider the Hardy space, Schur multipliers and their relation with realizations in the framework of Clifford-Appell polynomials. We also introduce two notions of regular Blaschke factors, through the Fueter theorem and the generalized CK-extension.

Abstract:Given a vector bundle A over a smooth manifold M such that the square root L of the line bundle ∧topA⁎⊗∧topT⁎M exists, the Clifford bundle associated to the standard split pseudo-Euclidean vector bundle (E=A⊕A⁎,〈⋅,⋅〉) admits a spinor bundle ∧•A⊗L, whose section space consists of Berezinian half-densities of the graded manifold A⁎[1]. Inspired by Kosmann-Schwarzbach's formula of deriving operator of split Courant algebroid (or proto-bialgebroid) structures on A⊕A⁎, we give an explicit construction of the associate Dirac generating operator introduced by Alekseev and Xu. We prove that the square of the Dirac generating operator is an invariant of the corresponding split Courant algebroid, and also give an explicit expression of this invariant in terms of modular elements.

Abstract:In the framework of distributionally generalized quantum theory, the object $H\psi$ is defined as a distribution. The mathematical significance is a mild generalization for the theory of para- and pseudo-differential operators (as well as a generalization of the weak eigenvalue problem), where the $\psi$-do symbol (which is not a proper linear operator in this generalized case) can have its coefficient functions take on singular distributional values. Here, a distribution is said to be singular if it is not L$^p(\mathbb{R}^d)$ for any $p\geq 1$. Physically, the significance is a mathematically rigorous method, which does not rely upon renormalization or regularization of any kind, while producing bound state energy results in agreement with the literature. In addition, another benefit is that the method does not rely upon self-adjoint extensions of the Laplace operator. This is important when the theory is applied to non-Schrodinger systems, as is the case for the Dirac equation and a necessary property of any finite rigorous version of quantum field theory. The distributional interpretation resolves the need to evaluate a wave function at a point where it fails to be defined. For $d=2$, this occurs as $K_o(a|x|)\delta(x)$, where $K_o$ is the zeroth order MacDonald function. Finally, there is also the identification of a missing anomalous length scale, owing to the scale invariance of the formal symbol(ic) Hamiltonian, as well as the common identity for the logarithmic function, with $a,\,b\in\mathbb{R}^+$, $\log(ab)=\log(a)+\log(b)$, which loses unitlessness in its arguments. Consequently, the energy or point spectrum is generalized as a family (set indexed by the continuum) of would-be spectral values, called the C-spectrum.

Abstract:In this article we study generalised Dirac-Schrödinger operators in arbitrary signatures (with or without gradings), providing a general KK-theoretic framework for the study of index pairings and spectral flow. We provide a general Callias-type Theorem, which allows to compute the index (or the spectral flow, or abstractly the K-theory class) of Dirac-Schrödinger operators from their restriction to a compact hypersurface. Furthermore, if the zero eigenvalue is isolated in the spectrum of the Dirac operator, we relate the index (or spectral flow) of Dirac-Schrödinger operators to the index (or spectral flow) of corresponding Toeplitz-type operators. Our results generalise various known results from the literature, while presenting these results in a common unified framework.

Dirac Cohomology and Unitarizable Supermodules over Lie Superalgebras of Type $A(m\vert n)$

Abstract:Dirac operators and Dirac cohomology for Lie superalgebras of Riemannian type, as introduced by Huang and Pandžić, serve as a powerful framework for studying unitarizable supermodules. This paper explores the relationships among the Dirac operator, Dirac cohomology, and unitarizable supermodules specifically within the context of the basic classical Lie superalgebras of type $A(m\vert n)$. The first part examines the structural properties of Dirac cohomology and unitarizable supermodules, including how the Dirac operator captures unitarity, a Dirac inequality, and the uniqueness of the supermodule determined by its Dirac cohomology. Additionally, we calculate the Dirac cohomology for unitarizable simple supermodules. The second part focuses on applications: we give a novel characterization of unitarity, relate Dirac cohomology to nilpotent Lie superalgebra cohomology, derive a decomposition of formal characters, and introduce a Dirac index.

Abstract:We study the continuum limit for Dirac-Hodge operators defined on the $n$ dimensional square lattice $h\mathbb{Z}^n$ as $h$ goes to $0$. This result extends to a first order discrete differential operator the known convergence of discrete Schrödinger operators to their continuous counterpart. To be able to define such a discrete analog, we start by defining an alternative framework for a higher-dimensional discrete differential calculus. We believe that this framework, that generalize the standard one defined on simplicial complexes, could be of independent interest. We then express our operator as a differential operator acting on discrete forms to finally be able to show the limit to the continuous Dirac-Hodge operator.
