Abstract:This work presents a method to obtain RGB pulsed lasers (683/532/436 nm) with pulse energies above 100 mJ for green and red laser beams. The maximum pulse energy of the blue laser beam is 16.5 mJ, resulting in a conversion efficiency of 5.9 %, a pulse width of 5.6 ns, and a maximum peak power of 2.9 MW. The pump source is a 532 nm pulsed laser, and the Raman medium is low-pressure hydrogen. The authors achieved a 683 nm Stokes Raman laser through stimulated Raman scattering and a 436 nm anti-Stokes Raman laser (AS1) through a four-wave mixing process. The conversion efficiency of the blue laser beam was optimized by adjusting the H 2 pressure and focus configuration. Additionally, a theoretical model was developed to explore methods for improving the blue laser conversion efficiency. By implementing a Herriot multiple-pass cavity with a special coating, the conversion efficiency of the AS1 laser reached 17.5 %. In conclusion, this work provides a practical technique for efficiently obtaining RGB lasers and demonstrates the potential for generating lasers with shorter wavelengths than the pump lasers.
