Abstract:We establish a uniform entropy bound for simply connected Ricci shrinkers with a finite second homotopy group and a uniform curvature bound. Additionally, we extend the non-collapsing result to a broader class of smooth metric measure spaces satisfying Bakry-Émery conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the limit structure of a sequence of Riemannian manifolds with Bakry-Émery Ricci curvature bounded below in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology. By extending the techniques established by Cheeger-Cloding for Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded below, we prove that each tangent space at a point of the limit space is a metric cone. We also analyze the singular structure of the limit space analogous to a work of Cheeger-Colding-Tian. Our results will be applied to study the limit space of a sequence of Kähler metrics arising from solutions of certain complex Monge-Ampère equations for the existence of Kähler-Ricci solitons on a Fano manifold via the continuity method.

Abstract:The authors consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric such that the k-curvature defined by an elementary symmetric function of the eigenvalues of the Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor on a compact manifold with boundary to a prescribed function. A consequence of our main result is that there exists a complete metric such that the Monge-Ampère type equation with respect to its Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor is solvable, provided that the initial Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor belongs to a negative convex cone.
Rigidity and ε-regularity theorems of Ricci shrinkers

Abstract:In this paper, we study the rigidity and {\epsilon}-regularity theorems of Ricci shrinkers. First we prove the rigidity of the asymptotic volume ratio and local volume around a base point of a non-compact Ricci shrinker. Next we obtain some {\epsilon}-regularity theorems of local entropy and curvature, which improve the previous corresponding results essentially and use them to study the structure of Ricci shrinkers at infinity. Especially, if the curvature of a non-compact Ricci shrinker satisfies some natural integral conditions, then it is asymptotic to a cone.

On the rigidity of Ricci shrinkers

Abstract:In this paper, we establish the rigidity of the generalized cylinder $N^n \times \mathbb R^{m-n}$, or a quotient thereof, in the space of Ricci shrinkers equipped with the pointed-Gromov-Hausdorff topology. Here, $N$ is a stable Einstein manifold that has an obstruction of order $3$. The proof is based on a quantitative characterization of the rigidity of compact Ricci shrinkers, a rigidity inequality of mixed orders on generalized cylinders, and the method of contraction and extension. As an application, we prove the uniqueness of the tangent flow for general compact Ricci flows under the assumption that one tangent flow is a generalized cylinder.

Abstract:This paper is the sequel to our study of heat kernel on Ricci shrinkers [29]. In this paper, we improve many estimates in [29] and extend the recent progress of Bamler [2]. In particular, we drop the compactness and curvature boundedness assumptions and show that the theory of -convergence holds naturally on any Ricci flows induced by Ricci shrinkers.

Abstract:In this work, we extend the existence theory of non-collapsed Ricci flows from point-wise curvature lower bound to Kato-type curvature lower bound. As an application, we prove that any compact three-dimensional non-collapsed strong Kato limit space is homeomorphic to a smooth manifold. Moreover, similar result also holds in higher dimension under stronger curvature condition. We also use the Ricci flow smoothing to study stability problem in scalar curvature geometry.

Abstract:We investigate the influence of uniformly positive scalar curvature on the size of a non-collapsed Ricci limit space coming from a sequence of n -manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature and uniformly positive scalar curvature. We prove that such a limit space splits at most lines or -factors. When this maximal splitting occurs, we obtain a uniform upper bound on the diameter of the non-splitting factor. Moreover, we obtain a volume gap estimate and a volume growth order estimate of geodesic balls on such manifolds.

Abstract:Let ${\bf M}$ be a compact Riemannian manifold and the metrics $g=g(t)$ evolve by the Ricci flow. We prove the following result. The Sobolev imbedding by Aubin or Hebey, perturbed by a scalar curvature term and modulo sharpness of constants, holds uniformly for $({\bf M}, g(t))$ for all time if the Ricci flow exists for all time; and if the Ricci flow develops a singularity in finite time, then the same Sobolev imbedding holds uniformly after a standard normalization. As a consequence, long time non-collapsing results are derived, which improve Perelman's local non-collapsing results. An application to 3-d Ricci flow with surgery is also presented.

Abstract:We consider Riemannian manifolds $M_i$, ${i=0,1}$, with boundary and $\Phi_i\in C^{\infty}(M_i)$ non-negative such that the pair $(M_i, \Phi_i)$ admits Bakry-Emery $N$-Ricci curvature bounded from below by $K$. Let $Y_0$ and $Y_1$ be isometric, compact components of the boundary of $M_0$ and $M_1$ respectively and assume $\Phi_0=\Phi_1$ on $Y_0\simeq Y_1$. We assume that $\Pi_0+\Pi_1=\Pi \geq 0$ (*), and $d\Phi_0(\nu_0)+ d\Phi_1(\nu_1)\leq \mbox{tr}\Pi$ on $Y_0\simeq Y_1$ (**) where $\Pi_i$ is the second fundamental form and $\nu_i$ is inner unit normal field along $\partial M_i$. We show that the metric glued space $M=M_0\cup_{\mathcal I}M_1$ together with the measure $\Phi d\mathcal H^n$ satisfies the curvature-dimension condition $CD(K,\lceil N \rceil)$ where $\Phi: M\rightarrow [0,\infty)$ arises tautologically from $\Phi_1$ and $\Phi_2$. Moreover, $(M, \Phi d\mathcal H^n)$ is the collapsed Gromov-Hausdorff limit of smooth, $\lceil N \rceil$-dimensional Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded from below by $K- \epsilon$ and is also the measured Gromov-Hausdorff limit of smooth, weighted Riemannian manifolds such that the Bakry-Emery $\lceil N \rceil$-Ricci curvature is bounded from below by $K-\epsilon$. On the other hand we show that given a glued manifold as described it satisfies the curvature-dimension condition $CD(K,N)$ only if the condition (*) and (**) hold. The latter statement generalizes a theorem of Kosovski\uı for sectional lower curvature bounds and especially applies for the unweighted case where a lower Ricci curvature bound and $\dim_{M_i}\leq N$ replaces a lower Bakry-Emery $N$-Ricci curvature bound.

Abstract:In this note, we will prove that given a sequence of Ricci flows. (M-k, g(k)(t)) of dimension n, t is an element of [-1, 0], with Ricci curvature bounded below uniformly and volume non-collapsing, (M-k, g(k) (0)) converge as a sequence of manifolds to a limit length space(X, d). The regular part of (X, d)must be open and the convergence is of C-1,C-alpha regularity. As a corollary of this result, we prove that in dimension 3, a Ricci flow can always extend unless either its Ricci curvature goes to -infinity or it shrinks to a point.

Abstract: When the Ricci curvature of a Riemannian manifold is not lower bounded by a constant, but lower bounded by a continuous function, we give a new characterization of this lower bound through the convexity of relative entropy on the probability space over the Riemannian manifold. Hence, we generalize K.T. Sturm and von Renesse's result (Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 2005) to the case with non-constant lower bound of Ricci curvature.

Abstract:The entropy functional introduced by Colding and Minicozzi plays a fundamental role in the analysis of mean curvature flow. However, unlike the hypersurface case, relatively little about the entropy is known in the higher-codimension case. In this note, we use measure-theoretical techniques and rigidity results for self-shrinkers to prove a compactness theorem for a family of self-shrinking surfaces with low entropy. Based on this, we prove the existence of entropy minimizers among self-shrinking surfaces and improve some rigidity results.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the concavity of the Shannon entropy power for the heat equation associated with the Laplacian or the Witten Laplacian on complete Riemannian manifolds with suitable curvature-dimension condition and on compact super Ricci flows. Under suitable curvature-dimension condition, we prove that the rigidity models of the Shannon entropy power are Einstein or quasi Einstein manifolds with Hessian solitons. Moreover, we prove the convexity of the Shannon entropy power for the conjugate heat equation introduced by G. Perelman on Ricci flow and that the corresponding rigidity models are the shrinking Ricci solitons. As an application, we prove the entropy isoperimetric inequality on complete Riemannian manifolds with non-negative (Bakry-Emery) Ricci curvature and the maximal volume growth condition.

Sharp and rigid isoperimetric inequality in metric measure spaces with non-negative Ricci curvature

Abstract:By using optimal transport theory, we prove a sharp dimension-free isoperimetric inequality involving the volume entropy, in metric measure spaces with non-negative Ricci curvature in the sense of Lott--Sturm--Villani. We show that this isoperimetric inequality is attained by a non-trivial open set, if and only if the space satisfies a certain foliation property. For metric measure spaces with non-negative Riemannian Ricci curvature, we show that the sharp Cheeger constant is achieved by a non-trivial measurable set, if and only if a one-dimensional space is split off. Our isoperimetric inequality and the rigidity theorems are proved in non-smooth framework, but new even in the smooth setting. In particular, our results provide some new understanding of logarithmically concave measures.

Abstract:In this paper, we give various curvature pinching conditions such that shrinkers are compact. On one hand, we prove that shrinkers with positive Ricci curvature are compact when they have bounded curvature and certain curvature pinching conditions. On the other hand, we prove that shrinkers with certain asymptotically nonnegative sectional curvature are compact. As applications, some related classifications of shrinkers are provided.

Abstract:We prove several analogs of Gromov's macroscopic dimension conjecture with extra curvature assumptions. More explicitly, we show that for an open Riemannian $n$-manifold $(M,g)$ of nonnegative Ricci (resp. sectional) curvature, if it has uniformly positive scalar curvature and it is uniformly volume noncollapsed, then the essential (resp. Hausdorff) dimension of an asymptotic cone, as a notion of largeness, has a sharp upper bound $n-2$, which is $2$ less than the upper bound for an open Riemannian manifold with only nonnegative Ricci curvature. As a consequence, the dimension of space of linear growth harmonic functions of $M$ has upper bound $n-1$ which is also $2$ less than the sharp bound $n+1$ when $M$ only has nonnegative Ricci curvature. We also prove the first Betti number upper bound is $n-2$ if $M$ is compact, and $n-3$ if $M$ is non-compact. When $M$ is compact we show a fibration theorem over torus, and a rigidity theorem for the fiber when the first Betti number upper bound is achieved.
