Abstract:Detailed analysis shows that the famous Iyengar inequality actually says that the Trapezoidal formula is a central algorithm for approximating integrals over an appropriate interval for the class of functions whose derivatives are bounded by a positive number K in L ∞ -sense. The inherent nonlinearity from central algorithms reflects the importance of the Iyengar inequality and thus makes familiar linear methods malfunction when one tries to generalize it. It is shown that the generalization depends on a nonlinear system of equations satisfied by a set of free nodes of a perfect spline. Explicit constructions are obtained in the spirit of the Iyengar inequality for the class of functions whose r th ( r ≤4) derivatives are bounded by a positive number K in L ∞ -sense because a closed solution to the nonlinear system is only available for r ≤4. Connections with computational mathematics, especially with best interpolation and best quadrature, are discussed. Numerical experiments are also included.

Abstract:In this article, we extend inequalities concerning the polar derivative of a polynomial to integral mean for the class of polynomials with s-fold zero at the origin and the remaining zeros inside some closed disk of radius k for k ≥ 1 and k ≤ 1 , and we thereby obtain bounds that depend on some coefficients of the underlying polynomial. Our results not only extend some known polynomial inequalities but also reduce some interesting results in particular cases. Furthermore, we provide numerical examples and graphical representations to demonstrate the superior precision of our results compared to previously established results.

Abstract:We verify that if M is a compact minimal submanifold with boundary in a Cartan–Hadamard manifold N, then $$\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^{k}\lambda _i\ge \frac{2n\pi }{e}k^{\frac{n+2}{n}}{{\,\mathrm{vol}\,}}(M)^{-\frac{2}{n}}$$, where $$\lambda _i$$ is the ith Dirichlet eigenvalue of the Laplacian on M. This provides an evidence for that the generalized Pólya conjecture is true. We also prove that if M is a complete and non-compact minimal submanifold in a Cartan–Hadamard manifold N, then $$\gamma _n N_\alpha (V)\le \int _M(V-\alpha )_{-}^{n/2}(x)dx$$, where $$N_\alpha (V)$$ is the number of eigenvalues($$\le \alpha $$) of the Schrödinger operator $$-\Delta +V$$ on M and $$\gamma _n$$ is an explicit positive constant depending only on n.

Abstract:Let $P(z)$ be a polynomial of degree $n$ having no zero in $|z|<k$ where $k\geq 1,$ then for every real or complex number $\alpha$ with $|\alpha|\geq 1$ it is known \begin{equation*} \underset{|z|=1}{\max}|D_\alpha P(z)|\leq n\left(\dfrac{|\alpha|+k}{1+k}\right)\underset{|z|=1}{\max}|P(z)|, \end{equation*} where $D_\alpha P(z)=nP(z)+(\alpha-z)P^{\prime}(z)$ denote the polar derivative of the polynomial $P(z)$ of degree $n$ with respect to a point $\alpha\in\mathbb{C}.$ In this paper, by a simple method, a refinement of above inequality and other related results are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish new generalizations of the Hermite-Hadamard-type inequalities. These inequalities are formulated in terms of modules of certain powers of proper functions. Generalizations for convex functions are also considered. As applications, some new inequalities for the digamma function in terms of the trigamma function and some inequalities involving special means of real numbers are given. The results also include estimates via arithmetic, geometric and logarithmic means. The examples are derived in order to demonstrate that some of our results in this paper are more exact than the existing ones and some improve several known results available in the literature. The constants in the derived inequalities are calculated; some of these constants are sharp. As a visual example, graphs of some technically important functions are included in the text.

Abstract:The paper considers the equality cases in the rnajoration principle for meromorphic functions established earlier by V. N. Dubinin and S. I. Kalmykov [Mat. Sb., 198, No. 12, 37–46 (2007)]. As corollaries of this principle, new inequalities for the coefficients and derivatives of polynomials satisfying certain conditions on two intervals are obtained. Simple proofs of some Lukashov’s theorems on the derivatives of rational functions on several intervals are provided. Bibliography: 13 titles.

Abstract:In this article, we obtain some inequalities for the bi-warped product submanifold of nearly-Kähler manifold which is expressed in terms of Laplacian, gradient, slant coefficient, and second fundamental form. Our inequality generalizes the inequalities of [1] , [2] . We also compute the Dirichlet energy and first eigenvalue of the Laplacian of warping functions.

Abstract:Various miscellaneous functional inequalities are deduced for the so-called generalized inverse trigonometric and hyperbolic functions. For instance, functional inequalities for sums, difference and quotient of generalized inverse trigonometric and hyperbolic functions are given, as well as some Grünbaum inequalities with the aid of the classical Bernoulli inequality. Moreover, by means of certain already derived bounds, bilateral bounding inequalities are obtained for the generalized hypergeometric ${}_3F_2$ Clausen function.

Abstract:We introduce a generic inequality of the form f2(x)≤f(s)f(2x−s) and show that many special functions such as gamma and polygamma functions, Riemann zeta function, beta and incomplete beta functions, Gauss and confluent hypergeometric functions, elliptic integrals and error function satisfy such type of the inequality. We also obtain new inequalities of this type for inverse trigonometric functions arcsin⁡x and arctan⁡x .

Abstract:Let $K\subset \mathbb{C}$ be a polynomially convex compact set, $f$ be a function analytic in a domain $\overline{\mathbb{C}}\smallsetminus K$ with Taylor expansion $f\left( z\right) =\sum_{k=0}^{\infty }\frac{a_{k}}{z^{k+1}} $ at $\infty $, and $H_{s}\left( f\right) :=\det \left( a_{k+l}\right) _{k,l=0}^{s}$ related Hankel determinants. The classical Polya theorem \cite% {P} says that \[ \limsup_{s\rightarrow \infty }\left\vert H_{s}\left( f\right) \right\vert ^{1/s^{2}}\leq d\left( K\right) , \]% where $d\left( K\right) $ is the transfinite diameter of $K$. The main result of this paper is multivariate internal analogs of Polya's inequality for $\mathbb{C}$-convex (=strictly linearly convex) domains $D\subset \mathbb{C}^{n}$ and weighted Hankel-type determinants, constructed from the Taylor coefficients of a function $f\in A\left( D\right) $ at a given point $% a\in D$; therewith the weights are generated by $s$-indicatrices of the sequence of analytic functionals biorthogonal to the system of monomials in $% \mathbb{C}^{n}$. It is proved by the reduction to the outer multivariate analog of Polya's inequality (Zakharyuta, Math. USSR Sbornik, \textbf{25 }% (1975)) and is based on the characterization of the strict linear convexity in terms of $s$-indicatrices (S. Znamenskii, Siberian Math. J. \textbf{26 } (1985)).

This work generalizes inequalities for sup norms of products of polynomials, and reverse triangle inequalities for logarithmic potentials. The main tool used in the proofs is the representation for a power of the farthest distance function as a Riesz potential of a unit Borel measure.

Abstract:The main object of this paper is to investigate several general families of hyper-geometric polynomials and their associated multiple integral representations. By suitably specializing our main results, the corresponding integral representations are deduced for such familiar classes of hypergeometric polynomials as (for example) the generalized Bedient polynomials of the first and second kinds. Each of the integral representations, which are derived in this paper, may be viewed also as a linearization relationship for the product of two different members of the associated family of hypergeometric polynomials.

Abstract:We prove a new family of inequalities, which compare the integral of a geometric convolution of non-negative functions with the integrals of the original functions. For classical inf-convolution, this type of inequality is called the Prékopa-Leindler inequality, which, restricted to indicators of convex bodies, gives the classical Brunn-Minkowski inequality. The convolution we consider is a different one, which arises from the study of the polarity transform for functions. While inf-convolution arises as the pull back of usual addition of convex functions under the Legendre transform, our geometric inf-convolution arises as the pull back of the second order reversing transform on geometric convex functions (called either polarity transform or $A$-transform). These are, up to linear terms, the only order reversing isomorphisms on the class of geometric convex functions. We prove that the integral of this new geometric convolution of two functions is bounded from below by the harmonic average of the individual integrals. Our inequality implies the Brunn-Minkowski inequality, as well as some other, new, inequalities for volumes of bodies. Our inequalities are intimately connected with Busemann's convexity theorem, a new variant of which we prove for 1-convex hulls and log-concave densities.

Abstract:Using the duality of positive cones, we show that applying the polar transform from convex analysis to local positivity invariants for divisors gives interesting and new local positivity invariants for curves. These new invariants have nice properties similar to those for divisors. In particular, this enables us to give a characterization of the divisorial components of the non-Kahler locus of a big class.
