Abstract:We describe all Gaussian generating functionals on several easy quantum groups given by non-crossing partitions. This includes in particular the free unitary, orthogonal and symplectic quantum groups. We further characterize central Gaussian generating functionals and describe a centralization procedure yielding interesting (non-Gaussian) generating functionals.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the classification problem of Gaussian generating functionals on specific "free / universal quantum groups". Specifically, the author aims to describe and classify all Gaussian generating functionals on several tractable quantum groups defined by non - crossing partitions, including the free unitary group, the orthogonal group and the symplectic group. ### Main research problems 1. **Classifying Gaussian generating functionals**: - The author's main objective is to describe and classify all Gaussian generating functionals on certain tractable quantum groups (such as the free unitary group \( U_N^+ \)). - Specifically, they hope to find a unique decomposition theorem to decompose the Gaussian generating functional into a "drift" part and a "diffusion" part. 2. **Central Gaussian generating functionals**: - The researchers also pay special attention to central Gaussian generating functionals and describe a centralization process that can generate interesting (non - Gaussian) generating functionals. - For example, they find that the free orthogonal group does not admit any central Gaussian process. 3. **Relationship with classical Gaussian processes**: - The paper explores the relationship between quantum Gaussian processes and classical Gaussian processes and illustrates this through some specific examples. - For example, the author discusses how quantum Gaussian processes can degenerate into classical Gaussian processes under certain conditions. 4. **Discussion of unsolved problems**: - The paper also mentions some unsolved problems, such as whether all Gaussian processes can "see" the entire free unitary group \( U_N^+ \), that is, whether \( U_N^+ \) is its own Gaussian part. ### Formula representation The formulas involved in the paper mainly focus on the definition and properties of Gaussian generating functionals. Here are the Markdown - format representations of several key formulas: - **Definition of Gaussian generating functional**: \[ \varphi|_{K_3(B)} = 0 \] This means that for all \( a, b, c\in B \): \[ \varphi(abc)=\varphi(ab)\varepsilon(c)+\varphi(ac)\varepsilon(b)+\varphi(bc)\varepsilon(a)-\varphi(a)\varepsilon(bc)-\varphi(b)\varepsilon(ac)-\varphi(c)\varepsilon(ab) \] - **Definition of boundary operator**: \[ (B\psi)(a\otimes b)=\psi(ab)-\varepsilon(a)\psi(b)-\psi(a)\varepsilon(b) \] - **Condition for Gaussian pairs**: \[ B\varphi(a^*\otimes b)=\langle\eta(a),\eta(b)\rangle \] These formulas help to understand the specific properties and calculation methods of Gaussian generating functionals. ### Summary This paper provides a systematic classification framework by in - depth study of Gaussian generating functionals on the free unitary group and other related quantum groups, and reveals the connection between these functionals and classical Gaussian processes. This not only deepens our understanding of quantum probability theory, but also provides an important theoretical basis for future research.
