Abstract:We give a new proof, by using the terminology and notation in the textbook \cite{Lin18b}, to a result, due to Puig, stating that a stable equivalence of Morita type between two block algebras of finite groups induced by a bimodule with an endopermutation source preserves Külshammer--Puig classes.

Abstract:We show that a bimodule of two block algebras of finite groups which has an endopermutation module as a source and which induces a stable equivalence of Morita type gives rise, via slash functors, to a family of bimodules of local block algebras with endopermutation source which induce Morita equivalences. As an application, we show that Morita (resp. stable) equivalences with endopermutation source imply functorial (resp. stable functorial) equivalences defined by Bouc and Yılmaz.

On Morita equivalences with endopermutation source and isotypies

Abstract:We introduce a new type of equivalence between blocks of finite group algebras called an almost isotypy. An almost isotypy restricts to a weak isotypy in Broué's original definition, and it is slightly weaker than Linckelmann's version. We show that a bimodule of two block algebras of finite groups - which has an endopermutation module as a source and which induces a Morita equivalence - gives rise to an almost isotypy if and only if the character values of a (hence any) source are rational integers. This generalises a previous result of Huang and Zhou. Consequently, if two blocks are Morita equivalent via a bimodule with endopermutation source, then they are almost isotypic.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:We extend a theorem of Kessar and Linckelmann concerning Morita equivalences and Galois compatible bijections between Brauer characters to virtual Morita equivalences. As a corollary, we obtain that the block version of Navarro's refinement of Alperin's weight conjecture holds for blocks with cyclic and Klein four defect groups, blocks of symmetric and alternating groups with abelian defect groups, and p -Blocks of and , where p | q .

Abstract:The aim of this article is to study some invariants of associative algebras under stable equivalences of Morita type. First of all, we show that, if two finite-dimensional self-injective k-algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type, then their orbit algebras are isomorphic. Secondly, it is verified that the quasitilted property of an algebra is invariant under stable equivalences of Morita type. As an application of this result, it is obtained that if an algebra is of finite representation type, then its tilted property is invariant under stable equivalences of Morita type; the other application to partial tilting modules is given in Section 4. Finally, we prove that when two finite-dimensional k-algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type, their repetitive algebras are also stably equivalent of Morita type under certain conditions.

Abstract:Based on the fact that the relatively stable category of a p -block B is equivalent to the relatively stable category of its Brauer correspondent b as triangulated category, we introduce the notion of relatively stable equivalence of Morita type and show that there is a relatively stable equivalence of Morita type between B and b . Some invariants under stable equivalence of Morita type can be generalized to this relative case. In particular, we put forward the generalized Alperin–Auslander conjecture and prove it in special cases.

Abstract:By results of Rognerud, a source algebra equivalence between two p p -blocks of finite groups induces an equivalence between the categories of cohomological Mackey functors associated with these blocks, and a splendid derived equivalence between two blocks induces a derived equivalence between the corresponding categories of cohomological Mackey functors. We prove this by giving an intrinsic description of cohomological Mackey functors of a block in terms of the source algebras of the block, and then using this description to construct explicit two-sided tilting complexes realising the above mentioned derived equivalence. We show further that a splendid stable equivalence of Morita type between two blocks induces an equivalence between the categories of cohomological Mackey functors which vanish at the trivial group. We observe that the module categories of a block, the category of cohomological Mackey functors, and the category of cohomological Mackey functors which vanish at the trivial group arise in an idempotent recollement. Finally, we extend a result of Tambara on the finitistic dimension of cohomological Mackey functors to blocks.

Descent of equivalences for blocks with Klein four defect groups

Abstract:We show that the splendid Rickard complexes for blocks with Klein four defect groups constructed by Rickard and Linckelmann descend to non splitting coefficient rings. As a corollary, Navarro's refinement of the Alperin-McKay conjecture holds for blocks with a Klein four defect group. We also prove that splendid Morita equivalences between blocks and their Brauer correspondents (if there exist) descend to non-split situations.

Stable functorial equivalence of blocks

Abstract:Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$, let $R$ be a commutative ring and let $\mathcal{F}$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $0$. We introduce the category $\overline{\mathcal{F}_{Rpp_k}}$ of stable diagonal $p$-permutation functors over $R$. We prove that the category $\overline{\mathcal{F}_{\mathbb{F}pp_k}}$ is semisimple and give a parametrization of its simple objects in terms of the simple diagonal $p$-permutation functors. We also introduce the notion of a stable functorial equivalence over $R$ between blocks of finite groups. We prove that if $G$ is a finite group and if $b$ is a block idempotent of $kG$ with an abelian defect group $D$ and Frobenius inertial quotient $E$, then there exists a stable functorial equivalence over $\mathbb{F}$ between the pairs $(G,b)$ and $(D\rtimes E,1)$.

Relative stable equivalences of Morita type for the principal blocks of finite groups and relative Brauer indecomposability

Abstract:We discuss representations of finite groups having a common central $p$-subgroup $Z$, where $p$ is a prime number. For the principal $p$-blocks, we give a method of constructing a relative $Z$-stable equivalence of Morita type, which is a generalization of a stable equivalence of Morita type, and was introduced by Wang and Zhang in a more general setting. Then we generalize Linckelmann's results on stable equivalences of Morita type to relative $Z$-stable equivalences of Morita type. We also introduce the notion of relative Brauer indecomposability, which is a generalization of the notion of Brauer indecomposability. We give an equivalent condition for Scott modules to be relatively Brauer indecomposable, which is an analogue of that given by Ishioka and the first author.

Abstract:In a recent paper \cite{HuXi3}, we introduced a classes of derived equivalences called almost $\nu$-stable derived equivalences. The most important property is that an almost $\nu$-stable derived equivalence always induces a stable equivalence of Morita type, which generalizes a well-known result of Rickard: derived-equivalent self-injective algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type. In this paper, we shall consider the compositions of almost $\nu$-stable derived equivalences and their quasi-inverses, which is called iterated almost $\nu$-stable derived equivalences. We give a sufficient and necessary condition for a derived equivalence to be an iterated almost $\nu$-stable derived equivalence, and give an explicit construction of the stable equivalence functor induced by an iterated almost $\nu$-stable derived equivalence. As a consequence, we get some new sufficient conditions for a derived finite-dimensional algebras to induce a stable equivalence of Morita type.

The stable uniqueness theorem for equivariant Kasparov theory

Abstract:This paper examines and strengthens the Cuntz-Thomsen picture of equivariant Kasparov theory for arbitrary second-countable locally compact groups, in which elements are given by certain pairs of cocycle representations between C*-dynamical systems. The main result is a stable uniqueness theorem that generalizes a fundamental characterization of ordinary $KK$-theory by Lin and Dadarlat-Eilers. Along the way, we prove an equivariant Cuntz-Thomsen picture analog of the fact that the equivalence relation of homotopy agrees with the (a priori stronger) equivalence relation of stable operator homotopy. The results proved in this paper will be employed as the technical centerpiece in forthcoming work of the authors to classify certain amenable group actions on Kirchberg algebras by equivariant Kasparov theory.

Abstract:From certain triangle functors, called nonnegative functors, between the bounded derived categories of abelian categories with enough projective objects, we introduce their stable functors which are certain additive functors between the stable categories of the abelian categories. The construction generalizes a previous work by Hu and Xi. We show that the stable functors of nonnegative functors have nice exactness property and are compatible with composition of functors. This allows us to compare conveniently the homological properties of objects linked by the stable functors. In particular, we prove that the stable functor of a derived equivalence between two arbitrary rings provides an explicit triangle equivalence between the stable categories of Gorenstein projective modules. This generalizes a result of Y. Kato. Our results can also be applied to provide shorter proofs of some known results on homological conjectures.

Abstract:Abstract We construct the noncommutative Poisson boundaries of tracial von Neumann algebras through the ultraproducts of von Neumann algebras. As an application of this result, we complete the proof of Kaimanovich-Vershik’s fundamental theorems regarding noncommutative entropy. We also prove the Amenability-Trivial Boundary equivalence and Choquet-Deny-Type I equivalence for tracial von Neumann algebras.
