Abstract:In this paper we survey some results on Ricci flowing non-smooth initial data. Among other things, we give a non-exhaustive list of various weak initial data which can be evolved with the Ricci flow. We also survey results which show that various curvature lower bounds will, possibly up to a constant, be preserved, if we start with such possibly non-smooth initial data. Some proofs/proof sketches are given in certain cases. A list of some open problems related to these areas is given in the last section of the paper.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to explore how to preserve the lower curvature bound of non - smooth initial data under Ricci flow. Specifically, the author investigates the evolution of certain weak initial data under Ricci flow and studies whether these initial data can preserve a specific lower curvature bound (possibly up to a constant factor) during the flow. In addition, the author also summarizes some known results and gives some proofs or proof ideas. ### Overview of the Main Problems 1. **Ricci Flow Evolution of Non - smooth Initial Data**: - Research on what types of non - smooth initial data can be evolved by Ricci flow. - Explore the behavior of these non - smooth initial data under Ricci flow, especially whether they can preserve certain curvature conditions. 2. **Preservation of Curvature Lower Bounds**: - Research on whether various curvature lower bounds (such as Ricci curvature, sectional curvature, etc.) can be preserved during the Ricci flow process. - If they cannot be completely preserved, whether it can be ensured that within a certain time, the curvature lower bound is at least preserved within a constant factor range. ### Specific Content - **Basic Definition of Ricci Flow**: \[ \frac{\partial}{\partial t}g(t)= - 2\text{Ric}(g(t)),\quad\forall t\in I \] where \(g(t)\) is the Riemannian metric and \(\text{Ric}(g(t))\) is the Ricci curvature tensor. - **Preservation of Curvature Conditions**: - For a three - dimensional manifold \(M^3\), if the initial condition satisfies \(\text{Ric}(g(0))\geq0\) or \(\text{sec}(g(0))\geq0\), then these conditions will be preserved under Ricci flow. - For higher - dimensional manifolds \(M^n\), if the initial condition satisfies certain specific curvature conditions (such as non - negative isotropic curvature, non - negative curvature operator, etc.), these conditions will also be preserved under Ricci flow. - **Treatment of Non - smooth Initial Data**: - Discusses various types of non - smooth initial data, including \(C^0\) metrics, low - regularity metrics, etc. - Provides the evolution results and related applications of these non - smooth initial data under Ricci flow. ### Conclusions and Prospects - Summarizes some existing results and points out some open problems. - Emphasizes the importance and application value of preserving the curvature lower bound when dealing with non - smooth initial data. Through these studies, the author hopes to provide new perspectives and tools for understanding the evolution of non - smooth geometric structures under Ricci flow.
