Abstract:We construct proper good moduli spaces parametrizing K-polystable $\mathbb{Q}$-Gorenstein smoothable log Fano pairs $(X, cD)$, where $X$ is a Fano variety and $D$ is a rational multiple of the anti-canonical divisor. We then establish a wall-crossing framework of these K-moduli spaces as $c$ varies. The main application in this paper is the case of plane curves of degree $d \geq 4$ as boundary divisors of $\mathbb{P}^2$. In this case, we show that when the coefficient $c$ is small, the K-moduli space of these pairs is isomorphic to the GIT moduli space. We then show that the first wall crossing of these K-moduli spaces are weighted blow-ups of Kirwan type. We also describe all wall crossings for degree 4,5,6, and relate the final K-moduli spaces to Hacking's compactification and the moduli of K3 surfaces.

Abstract:We describe the K-moduli spaces of weighted hypersurfaces of degree $2(n+3)$ in $\mathbb{P}(1,2,n+2,n+3)$. We show that the K-polystable limits of these weighted hypersurfaces are also weighted hypersurfaces of the same degree in the same weighted projective space. This is achieved by an explicit study of the wall crossing for K-moduli spaces $M_w$ of certain log Fano pairs with coefficient $w$ whose double cover gives the weighted hypersurface. Moreover, we show that the wall crossing of $M_w$ coincides with variation of GIT except at the last K-moduli wall which gives a divisorial contraction. Our K-moduli spaces provide new birational models for some natural loci in the moduli space of marked hyperelliptic curves.

Abstract:The moduli space of hyperplanes in projective space has a family of geometric and modular compactifications that parametrize stable hyperplane arrangements with respect to a weight vector. Among these, there is a toric compactification that generalizes the Losev-Manin moduli space of points on the line. We study the first natural wall crossing that modifies this compactification into a non-toric one by varying the weights. As an application of our work, we show that any $\mathbb{Q}$-factorialization of the blow up at the identity of the torus of the generalized Losev-Manin space is not a Mori dream space for a sufficiently high number of hyperplanes. Additionally, for lines in the plane, we provide a precise description of the wall crossing.

Abstract:We study a family of moduli spaces and corresponding quantum invariants introduced recently by Fan-Jarvis-Ruan. The family has a wall-and-chamber structure relative to a positive rational parameter is an element of. For a Fermat quasi-homogeneous polynomial W (not necessarily of Calabi-Yau type), we study natural generating functions packaging the invariants. Our wall-crossing formula relates the generating functions by showing that they all lie on the Lagrangian cone associated to the Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten theory of W. For arbitrarily small parameter is an element of, a specialization of our generating function is a hypergeometric series called the big I-function which determines the entire Lagrangian cone. As a special case of our wall-crossing, we obtain a new geometric interpretation of the Landau-Ginzburg mirror theorem.

Abstract:Let $\mathbf{M}^{\alpha}(d,\chi)$ be the moduli space of $\alpha$-stable pairs $(s,F)$ on the projective plane $\mathbb{P}^2$ with Hilbert polynomial $\chi(F(m))=dm+\chi$. For sufficiently large $\alpha$ (denoted by $\infty$), it is well known that the moduli space is isomorphic to the relative Hilbert scheme of points over the universal degree $d$ plane curves. For the general $(d,\chi)$, the relative Hilbert scheme does not have a bundle structure over the Hilbert scheme of points. In this paper, as the first non trivial such a case, we study the wall crossing of the $\alpha$-stable pairs space when $(d,\chi)=(5,2)$. As a direct corollary, by combining with Bridgeland wall crossing of the moduli space of stable sheaves, we compute the virtual Poincaré polynomial of $\mathbf{M}^{\infty}(5,2)$.

Moduli of Genus Six Curves and K-stability

Abstract:The K-moduli theory provides a different compactification of moduli spaces of curves. As a general genus six curve can be canonically embedded into the smooth quintic del Pezzo surface, we study in this paper the K-moduli spaces $\overline{M}^K(c)$ of the quintic log Fano pairs. We classify the strata of genus six curves $C$ appearing in the K-moduli by explicitly describing the wall-crossing structure. The K-moduli spaces interpolate between two birational moduli spaces constructed by GIT and moduli of K3 surfaces via Hodge theory.

Abstract:Motivated by Witten’s work, we propose a K -theoretic Verlinde/Grassmannian correspondence which relates the GL Verlinde numbers to the K -theoretic quasimap invariants of the Grassmannian. We recover these two types of invariants by imposing different stability conditions on the gauged linear sigma model associated with the Grassmannian. We construct two families of stability conditions connecting the two theories and prove two wall-crossing results. We confirm the Verlinde/Grassmannian correspondence in the rank two case.

Abstract:We investigate the wall-crossing phenomena for moduli of framed quiver representations. These spaces are expected to be highly useful in capturing the representation theoretic essence of special functions in integrable systems. Within this class of moduli spaces, we focus on the type $A$ flag manifold, type $A$ affine Laumon spaces, Nakajima quiver variety, and framed moduli of sheaves on the projective plane and the blow-up as main motivating examples. Specifically, we examine the wall-crossing formulas for integrals of Euler classes over these moduli spaces.

Abstract:We describe the 6-dimensional compact K-moduli space of Fano threefolds in deformation family No 2.18. These Fano threefolds are double covers of $\mathbb P^1\times\mathbb P^2$ branched along smooth $(2,2)$-surfaces, and Cheltsov--Fujita--Kishimoto--Park proved that any smooth Fano threefold in this family is K-stable. A member of family No 2.18 admits the structures of a conic bundle and a quadric surface bundle. We prove that K-polystable limits of these Fano threefolds admit conic bundle structures, but not necessarily del Pezzo fibration structures. We study this K-moduli space via the moduli space of log Fano pairs $(\mathbb P^1\times\mathbb P^2, c R)$ for $c=1/2$ and $R$ a $(2,2)$-divisor, which we construct using wall-crossings. In the case where the divisor is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor, the first author, together with Ascher and Liu, developed a framework for wall crossings in K-moduli and proved that there are only finitely many walls, which occur at rational values of the coefficient $c$. This paper constructs the first example of wall-crossing in K-moduli in the non-proportional setting, and we find a wall at an irrational value of $c$. In particular, we obtain explicit descriptions of the GIT and K-moduli spaces (for $c \leq 1/2$) of these $(2,2)$-divisors. Furthermore, using the conic bundle structure, we study the relationship with the GIT moduli space of plane quartic curves.

Abstract:We construct reduction and wall-crossing morphisms between the moduli spaces of stable pairs as the coefficients vary, generalizing the earlier work of Ascher, Bejleri, Inchiostro and Patakfalvi which deals with the klt case. Along the proof, we show that one can run the MMP with scaling on normal locally stable families over a normal base, and that the existence of good minimal models is preserved when reducing coefficients away from zero.

Abstract:Abstract We apply the machinery of Bridgeland stability conditions on derived categories of coherent sheaves to describe the geometry of classical moduli spaces associated with canonical genus 4 space curves via an effective control over its wall‐crossing. This article provides the first description of a moduli space of Pandharipande–Thomas stable pairs that is used as an intermediate step toward the description of the associated Hilbert scheme, which in turn is the first example where the components of a classical moduli space were completely determined via wall‐crossing. We give a full list of irreducible components of the space of stable pairs, along with a birational description of each component, and a partial list for the Hilbert scheme. There are several long standing open problems regarding classical sheaf theoretic moduli spaces, and the present work will shed light on further studies of such moduli spaces such as Hilbert schemes of curves and moduli of stable pairs that are very hard to tackle without the wall‐crossing techniques.

Abstract:We give a new proof of Ciocan-Fontanine and Kim's wall-crossing formula relating the virtual classes of the moduli spaces of $\epsilon$-stable quasimaps for different $\epsilon$ in any genus, whenever the target is a complete intersection in projective space and there is at least one marked point. Our techniques involve a twisted graph space, which we expect to generalize to yield wall-crossing formulas for general gauged linear sigma models.

Abstract:We study $K$-theoretic integrals over famed quiver moduli via wall-crossing phenomena. We study the chainsaw quiver varieties, and consider generating functions defined by two types of $K$-theoretic classes. In particular, we focus on integrals over the handsaw quiver varieties of type $A_{1}$, and get functional equations for each of them. We also give explicit formula for these partition functions. In particular, we obtain geometric interpretation of transformation formulas for multiple basic hypergeometric series including the Kajihara transformation formula, and the one studied by Langer-Schlosser-Warnaar and Hallnäs-Langman-Noumi-Rosengren.

Abstract:Gross-Joyce-Tanaka <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2005.05637" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2005.05637">arXiv:2005.05637</a> proposed a wall-crossing conjecture for Calabi-Yau fourfolds. Assuming it, we prove the conjecture of Cao-Kool <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1712.07347" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1712.07347">arXiv:1712.07347</a> for 0-dimensional sheaf-counting invariants on projective Calabi-Yau 4-folds. From it, we extract the full topological information contained in the virtual fundamental classes of Hilbert schemes of points which turns out to be equivalent to the data of all descendent integrals. As a consequence, we can express many generating series of invariants in terms of explicit universal power series. i) On $\mathbb{C}^4$, Nekrasov proposed invariants with a conjectured closed form <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1712.08128" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1712.08128">arXiv:1712.08128</a>. We show that an analog of his formula holds for compact Calabi-Yau 4-folds satisfying the wall-crossing conjecture. ii) We notice a relationship to corresponding generating series for Quot schemes on elliptic surfaces which are also governed by a wall-crossing formula. This leads to a Segre-Verlinde correspondence for Calabi-Yau fourfolds.

Abstract:We construct projective asymptotically good moduli spaces parametrizing boundary polarized CY surface pairs, which are projective slc Calabi-Yau pairs $(X,D)$ such that $D$ is ample and $X$ has dimension two. The moduli space provides a wall crossing between certain KSBA and K-moduli spaces and is the ample model of the Hodge line bundle. In the case of K3 surfaces with a non-symplectic automorphism, the moduli space gives a modular interpretation for the Baily--Borel compactification.

K-moduli of log Fano complete intersections

Abstract:We explicitly describe the K-moduli compactifications and wall crossings of log pairs formed by a Fano complete intersection of two quadric threefolds and a hyperplane, by constructing an isomorphism with the VGIT quotient of such complete intersections and a hyperplane. We further characterize all possible such GIT quotients based on singularities. We also explicitly describe the K-moduli of the deformation family of Fano 3-folds 2.25 in the Mori--Mukai classification, which can be viewed as blow ups of complete intersections of two quadrics in dimension three, by showing there exists an isomorphism to a GIT quotient which we also explicitly describe. Furthermore, we also construct computational algorithmic methods to study VGIT quotients of complete intersections and hyperplanes, which we use to obtain the explicit descriptions detailed above. We also introduce the reverse moduli continuity method, which allows us to relate canonical GIT compactifications to K-moduli of Fano varieties.

Abstract:We develop the moduli theory of boundary polarized CY pairs, which are slc Calabi-Yau pairs $(X,D)$ such that $D$ is ample. The motivation for studying this moduli problem is to construct a moduli space at the Calabi-Yau wall interpolating between certain K-moduli and KSBA moduli spaces. We prove that the moduli stack of boundary polarized CY pairs is S-complete, $\Theta$-reductive, and satisfies the existence part of the valuative criterion for properness, which are steps towards constructing a proper moduli space. A key obstacle in this theory is that the irreducible components of the moduli stack are not in general of finite type. Despite this issue, in the case of pairs $(X,D)$ where $X$ is a degeneration of $\mathbb{P}^2$, we construct a projective moduli space on which the Hodge line bundle is ample. As a consequence, we complete the proof of a conjecture of Prokhorov and Shokurov in relative dimension two.

Abstract:We study the K-moduli of log del Pezzo pairs formed by a del Pezzo surface of degree $d$ and an anti-canonical divisor. These moduli spaces naturally depend on one parameter, providing a natural problem in variations of K-moduli spaces. For degrees 2, 3, 4, we establish an isomorphism between the K-moduli spaces and variations of Geometric Invariant Theory compactifications, which generalizes the isomorphisms in the absolute cases established by Odaka--Spotti--Sun and Mabuchi--Mukai.

Abstract:We develop a framework to construct moduli spaces of Q {\mathbb {Q}} -Gorenstein pairs. To do so, we fix certain invariants; these choices are encoded in the notion of Q {\mathbb {Q}} -stable pair . We show that these choices give a proper moduli space with projective coarse moduli space and they prevent some pathologies of the moduli space of stable pairs when the coefficients are smaller than 1 2 \frac {1}{2} . Lastly, we apply this machinery to provide an alternative proof of the projectivity of the moduli space of stable pairs.
