Abstract:MicroLED displays are the result of a complex manufacturing chain. Each stage of this process, if optimized, contributes to achieving the highest levels of final efficiencies. Common works carried out by Pollen Metrology, Aledia, and Universit{é} Clermont-Auvergne led to a generic process optimization workflow. This software solution offers a holistic approach where stages are chained together for gaining a complete optimal solution. This paper highlights key corners of the methodology, validated by the experiments and process experts: data cleaning and multi-objective optimization.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the complexity of multi - step optimization in the micro - light - emitting diode (MicroLED) manufacturing process. Specifically: 1. **Difficulty in multi - step optimization**: The MicroLED manufacturing process involves multiple steps, and there are complex interactions among these steps, making it very difficult to optimize all steps simultaneously. 2. **High experimental cost**: The cost of experimental optimization is high, and the number of Design of Experiments (DOE) in each experiment is large, which limits the amount of available data and thus makes it difficult to draw valid conclusions. 3. **Challenges in data modeling and prediction**: When performing process optimization based on experimental data, it is necessary to ensure the quality and relevance of the data in order to establish an accurate process model and be able to predict multiple output criteria. To solve these problems, the author proposes a general process - optimization methodology based on Design of Experiments (DOE). This methodology includes the following key steps: - **Data cleaning and pre - processing**: Automatically clean and organize the original experimental data, remove redundant information, ensure data format consistency, and improve data quality. - **Multi - objective optimization**: By introducing a multi - objective optimization strategy, expand the optimization performance so that the optimization process can consider multiple output criteria simultaneously. This includes using the Pareto - front to evaluate candidate solutions and allowing users to set the trade - off between exploration and exploitation according to their needs. - **AI model training and evaluation**: Use AI algorithms to model experimental data, select the most suitable model for optimization prediction, and finally provide potential optimization solutions. This methodology is not only applicable to the MicroLED manufacturing process, but can also be extended to other complex process fields, such as microelectronics, new materials, cosmetics, and the chemical industry.
