Abstract:This work concerns the statistical inference for stochastic partial differential equations. We consider the fractional stochastic heat equation driven by a nonlinear Gaussian space–time white noise and analyze its mild solution. We actually study the limit behavior of the spatial quadratic variation of its mild solution, both in the linear and nonlinear noise cases by obtaining the exact limit of this quadratic variation. We apply these results to parameter estimation. More precisely, we construct an estimator for the drift parameter of the fractional stochastic heat equation with nonlinear noise, which is defined in terms of the quadratic variation and based on the observation of the solution at a fixed time and at discrete points in space. The proofs are based on the relation between the solution to the linear fractional stochastic heat equation and the fractional Brownian motion and on a sharp analysis of the Green kernel associated with the fractional Laplacian operator.

Abstract:We give an introduction to the time-fractional stochastic heat equation driven by 1+d-parameter fractional time-space white noise, in the following two cases: (i) With additive noise (ii) With multiplicative noise. The fractional time derivative is interpreted as the Caputo derivative of order $\alpha \in (0,2)$ and we assume that the Hurst coefficient $H=(H_0,H_1,H_2, ...,H_d)$ of the time-space fractional white noise is in $(\tfrac{1}{2},1)^{1+d}$. We find an explicit expression for the unique solution in the sense of distribution of the equation in the additive noise case (i). In the multiplicative case (ii) we show that there is a unique solution in the Hida space $(\mathcal{S})^{*}$ of stochastic distributions and we show that the solution coincides with the solution of an associated fractional stochastic Volterra equation.Then we give an explicit expression for the solution of this Volterra equation. A solution $Y(t,x)$ is called \emph{mild} if $E[Y^2(t,x)] < \infty$ for all $t,x$. For both the additive noise case and the multiplicative noise case we show that if $\alpha \geq 1$ then the solution is mild if $d=1$ or $d=2$, while if $\alpha < 1$ the solution is not mild for any $d$. The paper is partly a survey paper, explaining the concepts and methods behind the results. It is also partly a research paper, in the sense that some results appears to be new.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the following stochastically fractional heat equation on(t,x)∈[0,T]×Rddriven by fractional noise:∂u(t,x)/∂t=Dδαu(t,x)+WH(t,x)⋄u(t,x), where the Hurst parameterH=(h0,h1,…,hd)and⋄denotes the Skorokhod integral. A unique solution of that equation in an appropriate Hilbert space is constructed. Moreover, the Lyapunov exponent of the solution is estimated, and the Hölder continuity of the solution on both space and time parameters is discussed. On the other hand, the absolute continuity of the solution is also obtained.

Under mild conditions, we establish the exact uniform modulus of continuity and a Chung-type law of iterated logarithm for the sample function These results, to our knowledge, are new even for the classical stochastic heat equation (where ) with space-time white noise and they strengthen the corresponding results of Balan and Tudor (2008) and Tudor and Xiao (2017) where partial regularity results were obtained.

Abstract:We establish explicit integral tests for spatial asymptotic behaviors of fractional stochastic heat equations driven by additive Lévy white noise. Our results indicate that fractional stochastic heat equations enjoy the so-called additive physical intermittent property in all dimensions when the driven Lévy white noise is sufficiently light-tailed. The proofs are based on heat kernel estimates for the fractional Laplacian and exact tail behaviors for Poissonian functionals associated with the driven Lévy white noise.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the strong convergence of the time-space fractional diffusion equation driven by fractional Gaussion noise with Hurst index $H\in(\frac{1}{2},1)$. A sharp regularity estimate of the mild solution and the numerical scheme constructed by finite element method for integral fractional Laplacian and backward Euler convolution quadrature for Riemann-Liouville time fractional derivative are proposed. With the help of inverse Laplace transform and fractional Ritz projection, we obtain the accurate error estimates in time and space. Finally, our theoretical results are accompanied by numerical experiments.

Abstract:We develop and analyze a numerical method for stochastic time-fractional diffusion driven by additive fractionally integrated Gaussian noise. The model involves two nonlocal terms in time, i.e., a Caputo fractional derivative of order $\alpha\in(0,1)$, and fractionally integrated Gaussian noise (with a Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of order $\gamma \in[0,1]$ in the front). The numerical scheme approximates the model in space by the Galerkin method with continuous piecewise linear finite elements and in time by the classical Grünwald-Letnikov method, and the noise by the $L^2$-projection. Sharp strong and weak convergence rates are established, using suitable nonsmooth data error estimates for the deterministic counterpart. Numerical results are presented to support the theoretical findings.

Abstract:In this article, we consider fractional stochastic wave equations on $\mathbb R$ driven by a multiplicative Gaussian noise which is white/colored in time and has the covariance of a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H\in(\frac14, \frac12)$ in space. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the mild Skorohod solution, establish lower and upper bounds for the $p$-th moment of the solution for all $p\ge2$, and obtain the Hölder continuity in time and space variables for the solution.

Abstract:We consider the time-fractional nonlinear stochastic fourth-order reaction diffusion equation driven by the fractional noise (FSRDE). The FSRDE is discretized by using the mixed finite element method in space and the FBT-θ method in time. Some good techniques are proposed to prove the important lemmas in the proof of the strong convergence and the weak convergence. By proving the error estimates on the strong and weak convergence, we find the strong convergence and the weak convergence have the same convergence rate, and the convergence order is related to the fractional noise derivative β but not to the time fractional derivative α and the discrete format coefficient θ. Finally, the theorems on the strong and weak convergence are verified by the numerical tests.

Abstract:In this paper, based on the white noise analysis of square integrable pure-jump Levy process given by [1], we define the formal derivative of fractional Levy process defined by the square integrable pure-jump Levy process as the fractional Levy noises by considering fractional Levy process as the generalized functional of Levy process, and then we define the Skorohod integral with respect to the fractional Levy process. Moreover, we propose a class of stochastic Volterra equations driven by fractional Levy noises and investigate the existence and uniqueness of their solutions; In addition, we propose a class of stochastic differential equations driven by fractional Levy noises and prove that under the Lipschtz and linear conditions there exists unique stochastic distribution-valued solution.
