Abstract:In this article, we show that conjugacy classes of classical Weyl groups $W(B_{n})$ and $W(D_{n})$ are of $\textit{type D}$. Consequently, we obtain that Nichols algebras of irreducible Yetter-Drinfeld modules over the classical Weyl groups $\mathbb W_{n}$ ($n\geq5$) are infinite dimensional.

Abstract:Over fields of arbitrary characteristic we classify all rank three Nichols algebras of diagonal type with a finite root system. Our proof uses the classification of the finite Weyl groupoids of rank three.

Abstract:Over fields of characteristic zero, we determine all absolutely irreducible Yetter-Drinfeld modules over groups that have prime dimension and yield a finite-dimensional Nichols algebra. To achieve our goal, we introduce orders of braided vector spaces and study their degenerations and specializations.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a Yetter-Drinfeld module V over a weak Hopf algebra ℍ. Although the category of all left ℍ-modules is not a braided tensor category, we can define a Yetter-Drinfeld module. Using this Yetter-Drinfeld modules V , we construct Nichols algebra B ( V ) over the weak Hopf algebra ℍ, and a series of weak Hopf algebras. Some results of [8] are generalized.

Abstract:Nichols algebras are fundamental objects in the construction of quantized enveloping algebras and in the classification of pointed Hopf algebras by lifting method of Andruskiewitsch and Schneider. Arithmetic root systems are invariants of Nichols algebras of diagonal type with a certain finiteness property. In the present paper, all rank 4 Nichols algebras of diagonal type with a finite arithmetic root system over fields of arbitrary characteristic are classified. Our proof uses the classification of the finite arithmetic root systems of rank 4.

Abstract:We classify finite-dimensional Nichols algebras of Yetter-Drinfeld modules with indecomposable support over finite solvable groups in characteristic 0, using a variety of methods including reduction to positive characteristic. As a consequence, all Nichols algebras over groups of odd order are of diagonal type, which allows us to describe all pointed Hopf algebras of odd dimension.

Abstract:Assume that $V$ is a braided vector space with diagonal type. It is shown that a monomial belongs to Nichols braided Lie algebra $\mathfrak L(V)$ if and only if this monomial is connected. A basis of Nichols braided Lie algebra and dimension of Nichols braided Lie algebra of finite Cartan type are obtained.

Abstract:We determine all Nichols algebras of finite-dimensional Yetter-Drinfeld modules over groups such that all its left coideal subalgebras in the category of $\mathbb{N}_0$-graded comodules over the group algebra are generated in degree one as an algebra. Here we confine ourselves to Yetter-Drinfeld modules in which each group-homogeneous component is at most one-dimensional. We present a strategy to extend left coideal subalgebras by adding a suitable generator in degree two, three or four to a smaller left coideal subalgebra. We also discuss some methods for the construction of left coideal subalgebras of a Nichols algebra in the category of $\mathbb{N}_0$-graded $H$-comodules, where $H$ is a Hopf algebra, that is not necessarily a group algebra.

Abstract:In this paper we define two Lie operations, and with that we define the bicharacter algebras, Nichols bicharacter algebras, quantum Nichols bicharacter algebras, etc. We obtain explicit bases for $\mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{R}$} and $\mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{L}$} over (i) the quantum linear space $V$ with $\dim V=2$; (ii) a connected braided vector $V$ of diagonal type with $\dim V=2$ and $p_{1,1}=p_{2,2}= -1$. We give the sufficient and necessary conditions for $\mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{R}$}$= \mathfrak L(V)$, $\mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{L}$}$= \mathfrak L(V)$, $\mathfrak B(V) = F\oplus \mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{R}$} and $\mathfrak B(V) = F\oplus \mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{L}$}, respectively. We show that if $\mathfrak B(V)$ is a connected Nichols algebra of diagonal type with $\dim V>1$, then $\mathfrak B(V)$ is finite-dimensional if and only if $\mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{L}$} is finite-dimensional if and only if $\mathfrak L(V)${\tiny $_{R}$} is finite-dimensional.

Abstract:We contribute to the classification of Hopf algebras with finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension, GK-dimension for short, through the study of Nichols algebras over Q 8 ,the quaternion group . We find all the irreducible Yetter-Drinfeld modules V over Q 8 , and determine which Nichols algebras B(V ) of V are finite GK-dimensional, and which Nichols algebras B(V ) of V are finite dimensional.

Abstract:We investigate pointed Hopf algebras over finite nilpotent groups of odd order, with nilpotency class 2. For such a group G, we show that if its commutator subgroup coincides with its center, then there exists no non-trivial finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebra with kG as its coradical. We apply these results to non-abelian groups of order p(3), p(4) and p(5), and list all the pointed Hopf algebras of order p(6), whose group of grouplikes is non-abelian.

Abstract:Based on previous results on the classification of finite-dimensional Nichols algebras over dihedral groups and the characterization of simple modules of Drinfeld doubles, we compute the irreducible characters of the Drinfeld doubles of bosonizations of finite-dimensional Nichols algebras over the dihedral groups $\mathbb{D}_{4t}$ with $t\geq 3$. To this end, we develop new techniques that can be applied to Nichols algebras over any Hopf algebra. Namely, we explain how to construct recursively irreducible representations when the Nichols algebra is generated by a decomposable module, and show that the highest-weight of minimum degree in a Verma module determines its socle. We also prove that tensoring a simple module by a rigid simple module gives a semisimple module.

Abstract:We classify graded pre-Nichols algebras of diagonal type with finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension. The characterization is made through an isomorphism of posets with the family of appropriate subsets of the set of positive roots coming from central extensions of Nichols algebras of diagonal type, generalizing the corresponding extensions for small quantum groups in de Concini-Kac-Procesi forms of quantum groups.

Abstract:This paper is a first step toward the full description of a family of Hopf algebras whose coradical is isomorphic to a semisimple Hopf algebra K n , n an odd positive integer, obtained by a cocentral abelian cleft extension. We describe the simple Yetter-Drinfeld modules, compute the fusion rules and determine the finite-dimensional Nichols algebras for some of them. In particular, we give the description of the finite-dimensional Nichols algebras over simple modules over K 3 . This includes a family of 12-dimensional Nichols algebras {Bξ} depending on 3rd roots of unity. Here, B1 is isomorphic to the well-known Fomin-Kirillov algebra, and Bξ≃Bξ2 as graded algebras but B1 is not isomorphic to Bξ as algebra for ξ≠1 . As a byproduct we obtain new Hopf algebras of dimension 216.

Twist equivalence for Nichols algebras over Coxeter groups

Abstract:Bazlov generalized the construction of Fomin-Kirillov algebras to arbitrary finite Coxeter groups. They are quadratic approximations of Nichols algebras associated with the conjugacy class of reflections and a (rack) 2-cocycle q^+ with values in {-1,1}. We prove that q^+ is twist-equivalent to the constant cocycle q^-=-1, generalising a result of Vendramin. As a consequence, the Nichols algebras associated with the two different cocycles have the same Hilbert series and one is quadratic if and only if the other is quadratic. We further apply a recent result of Heckenberger, Meir and Vendramin to classify the finite-dimensional Nichols algebras of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over the dihedral group or order 2n, where n=r or n=2r with r odd and not a power of 3.

Multivariable knot polynomials from braided Hopf algebras with automorphisms

Abstract:We construct knot invariants from solutions to the Yang--Baxter equation associated to appropriately generalized left/right Yetter--Drinfel'd modules over a braided Hopf algebra with an automorphism. When applied to Nichols algebras, our method reproduces known knot polynomials and naturally produces multivariable polynomial invariants of knots. We discuss in detail Nichols algebras of rank $1$ which recover the ADO and the colored Jones polynomials of a knot and two sequences of examples of rank $2$ Nichols algebras, one of which starts with the product of two Alexander polynomials, and then conjecturally the Harper polynomial. The second sequence starts with the Links--Gould invariant (conjecturally), and then with a new 2-variable knot polynomial that detects chirality and mutation, and whose degree gives sharp bounds for the genus for a sample of 30 computed knots.

Algebras of Non-Local Screenings and Diagonal Nichols Algebras

Abstract:In a vertex algebra setting, we consider non-local screening operators associated to the basis of any non-integral lattice. We have previously shown that, under certain restrictions, these screening operators satisfy the relations of a quantum shuffle algebra or Nichols algebra associated to a diagonal braiding, which encodes the non-locality and non-integrality. In the present article, we take all finite-dimensional diagonal Nichols algebras, as classified by Heckenberger, and find all lattice realizations of the braiding that are compatible with reflections. Usually, the realizations are unique or come as one- or two-parameter families. Examples include realizations of Lie superalgebras. We then study the associated algebra of screenings with improved methods. Typically, for positive definite lattices we obtain the Nichols algebra, such as the positive part of the quantum group, and for negative definite lattices we obtain a certain extension of the Nichols algebra generalizing the infinite quantum group with a large center.
