Abstract:In this paper, the author first establish the connections between the selectively $k$-star-ccc properties, the chain conditions and other star-Lindelöf properties. Secondly, some examples are presented to solve questions raised by Xuan and Song about the selectively $k$-star-ccc spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, the author represent a unification and extension of concepts previously studied by several authors. By establish connections between the chain condition, selectively star-ccc properties and star-Lindelöf properties, the author provide that selectively $3$-star-ccc equals weakly strongly star-Lindelöf for normal spaces, which gives a negative answer to Question 4.10 raised by Xuan and Song in \cite{xuan2}, and use a different method from Xuan and Song to provide that the CCC implies selectively $2$-star-ccc, which gives a positive answer to Problem 4.4 in \cite{bal}. Finally, an example is given to distinguish these properties.

Abstract:Whenever P is a topological property, we say that a topological space X is star P if whenever U is an open cover of X , there is a subspace Y ⊂ X with property P such that St ( Y , U ) = X . We study the relationships of star P properties for P ∈ { DCCC , weakly Lindelöf , CCC } with other chain conditions. By using Erdös–Radó's theorem, we also establish several cardinal inequalities for star CCC spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we define some combinatorial principles to characterize spaces X whose hyperspace satisfies some variation of some classical star selection principle. Specifically, the variations characterized are the selective and absolute versions of the star selection principles for the Menger and Rothberger cases; also, the hyperspaces considered in these characterizations are CL ( X ), K( X ), F( X ) and CS( X ) in both cases, endowed with either the Fell topology or the Vietoris topology.

Abstract:The star versions of the Scheepers property, namely star-Scheepers, strongly star-Scheepers and new star-Scheepers property have been introduced. We explore further ramifications concerning critical cardinalities. Quite a few interesting observations are obtained while dealing with the Isbell-Mrówka spaces, Niemytzki plane and Alexandroff duplicates. The properties like monotonically normal, locally countable cellularity (which is introduced here) play an important role in our investigation. We study games corresponding to the classical and star variants of the Scheepers property which have not been investigated in prior works. Some open problems are also posed.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate what selection principles properties are possessed by small (with respect to the bounding and dominating numbers) unions of spaces with certain (star) selection principles.. Furthermore, we give several results about iterations of these properties and weaker properties than paracompactness. In addition, we study the behaviour of these iterated properties on $\Psi$-spaces. Finally, we show that, consistently, there is a normal star-Menger space that is not strongly star-Menger; this example answers a couple of questions posed in [J. Casas-de la Rosa, S. A. Abstract:In this paper, we prove that the cardinality of a star Lindelöf space X does not exceed c if X satisfies one of the following conditions: (1) X has a rank 3-diagonal; (2) X is normal and has a rank 2-diagonal; (3) X is first countable, normal and has a Gδ-diagonal. Moreover, we also obtain several results concerning the general question “When must a star Lindelöf space be star countable?”.

Abstract:In this paper, we first present some sufficient conditions for the upper semicontinuity and/or the continuity of the Bregman farthest-point map $Q_C^g$ and the relative farthest-point map $S_C^g$ for a nonempty $D$-maximally approximately compact subset $C$ of a Banach space $X$. We next present certain sufficient conditions as well as equivalent conditions for a Klee set to be singleton in a Banach space $X$. Our results extend and/or improve the corresponding ones of [Bauschke, et al., J. Approx. Theory, 158 (2009), pp. 170-183] to infinite dimensional spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider two questions on absolute star-Lindelofness and star-Lindelofness: (1) Whether every Tychonoff star-Lindelof space can be embedded into some Tychonoff absolutely star-Lindelof space as a closed subspace or as a closed G(delta)-subspace; (2) Characterize the Tychonoff star-Lindelof spaces which can be embedded as regular closed subspaces into Tychonoff absolutely star-Lindelof spaces. We proved that the answer to first question is YES in general. For the second question we give a complete solution.

Abstract:Motivated by the definition of classical star selection principles, Cruz-Castillo, Ramírez-Páramo and Tenorio defined some selection principles and posed several questions about relationships between these notions and some of the classical star selection principles. The main goal of this paper is to answer the questions posed by these authors. In addition, we show that some of these defined selection principles are equivalent by taking collections of complements; also, some other results are provided involving collections of refinements.

Abstract:We continue to explore the ways in which high-level topological connections arise from connections between fundamental features of the spaces, in this case focusing on star-selection principles in Pixley-Roy hyperspaces and uniform spaces. First, we find a way to write star-selection principles as ordinary selection principles, allowing us to apply our translation theorems to star-selection games. For Pixley-Roy hyperspaces, we are able to extend work of M. Sakai and connect the star-Menger/Rothberger games on the hyperspace to the ω -Menger/Rothberger games on the ground space. Along the way, we uncover connections between cardinal invariants. For uniform spaces, we show that the star-Menger/Rothberger game played with uniform covers is equivalent to the Menger/Rothberger game played with uniform covers, reinforcing an observation of Lj. Kočinac.

Abstract:In this paper we consider some recent relative versions of Menger property called set strongly star Menger and set star Menger properties and the corresponding Hurewicz-type properties. In particular, using \cite {BMae}, we "easily" prove that the set strong star Menger and set strong star Hurewicz properties are between countable compactness and the property of having countable extent. Also we show that the extent of a regular set star Menger or a set star Hurewicz space cannot exceed $\frak c$. Moreover, we construct (1) a consistent example of a set star Menger (set star Hurewicz) space which is not set strongly star Menger (set strongly star Hurewicz) and show that (2) the product of a set star Menger (set star Hurewicz) space with a compact space need not be set star Menger (set star Hurewicz). In particular, (1) and (2) answer to some questions posed by Kočinac, Konca and Singh in \cite{KKS-MS} and \cite{S-AM}.

Abstract:A novel selection principle was introduced by Dorantes-Aldama and Shakhmatov: a topological space $X$ is termed {\em selectively pseudocompact} if for any sequence $(U_n:n\in {\omega})$ of pairwise disjoint non-empty open sets of $X$, one can choose points $x_n\in U_n$ such that the sequence $(x_n:n\in {\omega})$ has an accumulation point. In this paper, we explore various versions of this principle when we permit the selection of finite, scattered, or nowhere dense sets instead of just singletons. We develop a method to prove that the aforementioned versions of selective pseudocompactness are indeed distinct from one another.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate various cardinal properties of the space $Q_{C}X$ of all real-valued quasicontinuous functions on the topological space $X$, under the topology of uniform convergence on compact subsets. It begins by examining the relationship between tightness and other properties in the context of the space $X$, highlighting results such as the alignment of tightness $Q_{C}X$ with the compact Lindelöf number of $X$ under Hausdorff conditions and the countable tightness of $Q_{C}X$ when $X$ is second countable. Further investigations reveal conditions for the tightness of $Q_{C}X$ relative to $k$-covers of $X$, as well as connections between density tightness, fan tightness, and other properties in Hausdorff spaces. Additionally, we discuss the implications of the Frechet-Urysohn property $Q_{C}X$ for open $k$-covers in Hausdorff spaces. We explore relationships between $Q_{C}X$'s tightness, the Frechet-Urysohn property, and the $\sigma$-compactness of locally compact Hausdorff spaces $X$. Furthermore, we examine the $k_{f}$-covering property and the existence of $k$-covers in the context of Whyburn spaces.

An Excursion with Divergence Properties

Abstract:In this note, we compare and contrast various selective divergence properties such as the properties of being discretely selective and selectively highly divergent. We identify and incorporate a class of subsemigroups of the semigroup of strictly increasing maps from the naturals to themselves. We investigate certain implications for hyperspaces of finite subsets and characterize the closed discrete selection game on a space in terms of a particular selection game on the Vietoris hyperspace of finite subsets of that space. We also isolate some sufficient conditions on a space that guarantee that the corresponding Pixley-Roy hyperspace of finite subsets is discretely selective. We end by noting that the properties of being discretely selective and of being selectively highly divergent are equivalent in rings of continuous functions with standard topologies of uniform convergence.

Abstract:Using the methods from topological dynamics, H. Furstenberg introduced the notion of a central set and proved the famous Central Sets Theorem. Later D. De, Neil Hindman, and D. Strauss [Fund. Math.199 (2008), 155-175.] established a stronger version of the Central Sets Theorem and then introduced the notion of $C$-sets satisfying the Central Sets Theorem and studied the properties of these sets. For any weak mixing system $\left(X, \mathcal{B},\mu, T\right),$ and $A_{0},A_{1}\in\mathcal{B}$, with $\mu\left(A_{0}\right)\mu\left(A_{1}\right)>0$, R. Kung and <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://X.Ye" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> [Disc. Cont. Dyn. sys., 18 (2007) 817-827.] proved that the set $N\left(A,B\right)= \left\{n:\mu\left(A_{0}\cap T^{-n}A_{1}\right)>0\right\}$ intersects all sets of positive upper Banach density. However, later N. Hindman and D. Strauss [New York J. Math. 26 (2020) 230-260.] proved that there exist $C$-sets having zero upper Banach density. Inspired by this result, in this article, we prove that $N\left(A, B \right)$ intersects with all $C$-sets. Then we introduce the notion of a dynamical $C^{\star}$-set and then we study their combinatorial properties.

Abstract:In this paper, we study some properties of s-spaces. By means of the addition theorem and the theory of remainders,the following properties are established: (1)if an s-space X is the union of a countable family of metrizable subspaces,then X is sequential;(2)if G is a non-locally compact topological group with a compactification bG such that Y =bG\G is hereditarily an s-space, then either G is separable and metrizable, or G is σ-compact, which generalize and improve some results about s-spaces by Arhangel'skii.

Abstract:We introduce the weaker forms of the Scheepers property, namely almost Scheepers (${\sf aS}$), weakly Scheepers in the sense of Sakai (${\sf wS}$) and weakly Scheepers in the sense of Kočinac (${\sf wS_k}$). We explore many topological properties of the weaker forms of the Scheepers property and present few illustrative examples to make distinction between these spaces. Certain situations are considered when all the weaker forms are equivalent. We also make investigations on the weak variations as considered in this paper concerning cardinalities. In particular we observe that 1. If every finite power of a space $X$ is ${\sf aM}$ (respectively, ${\sf wM}$), then $X$ is ${\sf aS}$ (respectively, ${\sf wS}$). 2. Every almost Lindelöf space of cardinality less than $\mathfrak{d}$ is ${\sf aS}$. 3. Let $X$ be Lindelöf and $\kappa<\mathfrak d$. If $X$ is a union of $\kappa$ many ${\sf aH}$ (respectively, ${\sf wH}$, ${\sf wH_k}$) spaces, then $X$ is ${\sf aS}$ (respectively, ${\sf wS}$, ${\sf wS_k}$). 4. The Alexandroff duplicate $AD(X)$ of a space $X$ has the Scheepers property if and only if $AD(X)$ has the ${\sf wS_k}$ property. 5. If $AD(X)$ is ${\sf aS}$ (respectively, ${\sf wS}$), then $X$ is also ${\sf aS}$ (respectively, ${\sf wS}$). Besides, few observations on productively ${\sf aS}$, productively ${\sf wS}$ and productively ${\sf wS_k}$ spaces are presented. Some open problems are also given.
