Abstract:In this short note, we explain how the main results in "$\tau$-tilting theory" by Adachi-Iyama-Reiten follow from the results in Section 5 of "General presentations of algebras" by Derksen-Fei.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve are mainly about the relationships between the basic definitions and results in τ -tilting theory (τ -tilting theory), especially the relationships between these results and previous research work. Specifically, the paper's authors, Harm DerkSEN and Jiarui FEI, point out that the main results in [AIR] can actually be derived from the results they previously published in [DF]. [DF] refers to DerkSEN and FEI's own earlier work, while [AIR] refers to Adachi, Iyama and Reiten's research on τ -tilting theory.
### Main problems of the paper:
1. **Clarify how the results in [AIR] are derived from the results in [DF]**:
- The paper reviews in detail the key definitions and results in [DF], such as concepts like rigid presentation, maximal rigid, and generating, and explains the relationships between these concepts and the τ -tilting module (τ -tilting module) and τ -tilting pair (τ -tilting pair) proposed in [AIR].
- By establishing the correspondence between the rigid presentation in [DF] and the τ -tilting module in [AIR], the authors show that many important theorems in [AIR] are actually direct corollaries of the results in [DF].
2. **Point out the underestimation of [DF]'s contribution by [AIR]**:
- The authors emphasize that [AIR] only mentions [DF] once in the paper, and in a misleading way, without fully recognizing [DF]'s pioneering role in this field.
- For example, [AIR] claims to introduce the E -invariant (E -invariant), but in fact this concept has already been proposed in [DF].
### Specific content:
- **Relationship between rigid presentation and τ -tilting module**:
- The rigid presentation \( f \) in [DF] is defined as a projective representation satisfying \( E(f, f)=0 \).
- The τ -tilting module \( M \) in [AIR] is defined as a module satisfying \( \text{Hom}_A(M, \tau M) = 0 \) and \( |M|=|A| \).
- By establishing the correspondence between the two, the authors show that the τ -tilting module in [AIR] can be regarded as a special form of the rigid presentation in [DF].
- **Derivation of main theorems**:
- **Theorem 6**: Any τ -rigid module is a direct summand of some τ -tilting module. This can be derived from [DF, Theorem 5.4].
- **Theorem 8**: Any basic almost complete support τ -tilting pair is a direct summand of two basic support τ -tilting pairs. This can be derived from [DF, Proposition 5.7].
- **Theorem 9**: A bijective relationship is established among functorially finite torsion class, basic support τ -tilting module, and basic two - term tilting complex. This can also be derived from the results in [DF].
### Conclusion:
The main purpose of the paper is to clarify the relationships between the results in [AIR] and the work in [DF], and to point out that the contribution of [DF] is underestimated in [AIR]. Through detailed mathematical derivations and definition comparisons, the authors show the importance and pioneering status of [DF] in τ -tilting theory.
