Abstract:We shall make use of the method of partial fractions to generalize some of Ramanujan's infinite series identities, including Ramanujan's famous formula for $\zeta(2n+1)$, and we shall also give a generalization of the transformation formula for the logarithm of the Dedekind eta function. It is shown here that the method of partial fractions can be used to obtain many similar identities of this kind.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to generalize some of Ramanujan's infinite - series identities, especially Ramanujan's famous formula for \(\zeta(2n + 1)\), through the method of partial fractions, and to give a generalization of the transformation formula for the logarithm of the Dedekind \(\eta\) - function. Specifically, the author uses the method of partial fractions to derive a series of similar identities and provides a general procedure for determining such identities. ### Main Contents 1. **Application of the Method of Partial Fractions**: - The author first reviews some known partial - fraction decomposition identities and derives more complex forms through these identities. - For example, starting from basic partial - fraction identities, the author obtains more complex partial - fraction identities through a series of transformations and summation operations. 2. **Generalization of Ramanujan's Formula**: - The author uses the method of partial fractions to generalize Ramanujan's famous formula for \(\zeta(2n + 1)\). - Specifically, the author proves several propositions, which can degenerate into Ramanujan's original formula in specific cases. 3. **Transformation Formula for the Logarithm of the Dedekind \(\eta\) - function**: - The author derives a generalized form of the transformation formula for the logarithm of the Dedekind \(\eta\) - function through the method of partial fractions. - This generalized form includes the known transformation formula as a special case. 4. **Further Inferences**: - The author also explores some special cases of these generalized formulas and draws several interesting inferences. - For example, by choosing specific parameters, the author obtains some formulas that are consistent with known results. ### Formula Examples - **Ramanujan's Formula for \(\zeta(2n + 1)\)**: \[ \sum_{n = 1}^{\infty}\frac{(- 1)^{n - 1}\cos(n\theta_i)}{x_i^2n^2 + a_i^2 - t^2}\prod_{j\neq i}\left\{\frac{\pi}{2x_j}\sqrt{x_i^2n^2 + a_i^2 - a_j^2}\cos\left(\frac{\theta_j\sqrt{x_i^2n^2 + a_i^2 - a_j^2}}{x_j}\right)\csc\left(\frac{\pi\sqrt{x_i^2n^2 + a_i^2 - a_j^2}}{x_j}\right)-\frac{1}{2(x_i^2n^2 + a_i^2 - a_j^2)}\right\} = \prod_{i = 1}^M\left\{\frac{\pi}{2x_i}\sqrt{t^2 - a_i^2}\cos\left(\frac{\theta_i\sqrt{t^2 - a_i^2}}{x_i}\right)\csc\left(\frac{\pi\sqrt{t^2 - a_i^2}}{x_i}\right)-\frac{1}{2(t^2 - a_i^2)}\right\} \] - **Transformation Formula for the Logarithm of the Dedekind \(\eta\) - function**: \[ \sum_{n = 1}^{\infty}\frac{\cos(n\theta_1)\cosh\left(\frac{\theta_2\sqrt{x_1^2n^2 + w^2}}{x_2}\right)}{\sqrt{x_1^2n^2 + w^2}(e^{2\pi\sqrt{x_1^2n^2 + w^2}/x_2}-1)}-\sum_{n = 1}^{\infty}\frac{\cos(n\theta_2)\cosh\left(\frac{\theta_1}{x_1}\right)}{\sqrt{x_2^2n^2 + w^2}(e^{2\pi\sqrt{x_2^2n^2 + w^2}/x_1}-1)} \]
