Abstract:The "Battlefield" online game is well-known for its large-scale multiplayer capabilities and unique gaming features, including various vehicle controls. However, these features make the game a major target for cheating, significantly detracting from the gaming experience. This study analyzes user behavior in cheating play in the popular online game, the "Battlefield", using statistical methods. We aim to provide comprehensive insights into cheating players through an extensive analysis of over 44,000 reported cheating incidents collected via the "Game-tools API". Our methodology includes detailed statistical analyses such as calculating basic statistics of key variables, correlation analysis, and visualizations using histograms, box plots, and scatter plots. Our findings emphasize the importance of adaptive, data-driven approaches to prevent cheating plays in online games.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to detect cheating players in the online game "Battlefield". Specifically, the author analyzed more than 44,000 reported cheating incidents through statistical methods, aiming to provide a comprehensive insight into the behavior of cheating players and emphasized the importance of adopting adaptive, data - driven methods to prevent cheating in online games. ### Background and Problem Description of the Paper "Battlefield" is a large - scale multiplayer online game, known for its unique game features (such as various vehicle controls). These features make the game a prime target for cheating, which seriously damages the gaming experience. Cheating not only undermines the fairness of the game but may also lead to player attrition, thus having an impact on the game company's finances. ### Research Methods The author adopted basic statistical analysis methods, including calculating basic statistics of key variables (such as mean, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum values), correlation analysis, and using histograms, box - plots, and scatter plots for visualization. Through these methods, the author hopes to effectively identify the behavioral characteristics of cheating players. ### Main Contributions 1. **Repetitiveness of Cheating Behavior**: By analyzing the high correlation (0.996) between `hack_score` and `hack_score_current`, it was found that players who start cheating tend to keep cheating. This finding emphasizes the necessity of continuous monitoring and responding to cheating players in the cheating detection system. 2. **Use of Specific Weapons**: There is a perfect correlation (1.000) between `stats.kills` and `unreleased_weapons.kills`, indicating that cheating players tend to use unreleased weapons to get a large number of kills. This provides an important indicator for game developers to detect cheating behavior. 3. **Cheating Behavior of Players at All Levels**: The moderate correlation (0.449) between `hack_score` and `stats.rank` indicates that cheating players are not concentrated among high - level players but may be present at all player levels. This highlights the necessity of conducting cheating detection at all player levels. ### Conclusion This study proposes a data - driven approach to solve the cheating problem in the "Battlefield" game. Through statistical analysis and visualization, the author successfully identified the behavior patterns of cheating players and proposed effective detection methods. These findings are of great significance for maintaining the fairness of the game and improving player satisfaction.
