Abstract:For a closed minimal immersed hypersurface $M$ in $\mathbb S^{n+1}$ with second fundamental form $A$, and each integer $k\ge 2$, define a constant $\sigma_k=\dfrac{\int_M (|A|^2)^k}{|M|}$. We show that $\sigma_k \ge 2^k$ provided $n=2$ and $M$ is not totally geodesic. When $n=4$ and $M$ has two distinct principal curvatures, we show $\sigma_2 \ge 16$. When $n\ge 3$ and $M$ has two distinct principal curvatures, for each integer $k\ge 2$, there exists a positive constant $\delta_k(n)<n$, if $|A|^2\ge \delta_k(n)$, we have $\sigma_k\ge n^k$. All the equality holds iff $M$ is isometric to a Clifford hypersurface.

Abstract:In this article, we prove that the Clifford torus S-1(root 1-r(2)) x Sn-1(r) is the only closed hypersurface in the unit sphere Sn+1(1) with infinite fundamental group, which satisfy r(2) >= (n-1)/n, Ric(M) <= C_(H), and S <= S + (H). Moreover, we give a characterization of Clifford torus S-1(root 1-r(2)) x Sn-1 (r) with r(2) = 2(n-1)+nH(2)+/-vertical bar H vertical bar root n(2)H(2)+4(n-1)/2n(1+H-2).

Abstract:We use Clifford algebras to construct a unified formalism for studying constant extrinsic curvature immersed surfaces in riemannian and semi-riemannian $3$-manifolds in terms of immersed bilegendrian surfaces in their unitary bundles. As an application, we provide full classifications of both complete and compact immersed bilegendrian surfaces in the unit tangent bundle $\text{U}\Bbb{S}^3$ of the $3$-sphere.

Abstract:We study the moduli space of coherent systems in $P^2$ using the Segre invariant. We obtain necessary conditions for the existence of $\alpha$-semistable coherent systems $(E,V)$ of type $(2, c_1, c_2, k)$, with $k \geq 2$. Afterwards, we give numerical conditions to the nonemptiness of the moduli space and compute the critical values depending of the Chern classes. Finally, we give some topological properties of the flips.

Abstract:We extend the notion of Clifford index to reduced curves with planar singularities by considering rank 1 torsion free sheaves. We investigate the behaviour of the Clifford index with respect to the combinatorial properties of the curve and we show that Green's conjecture holds for certain classes of curves given by the union of two irreducible components.

Abstract:In this paper we combine methods from projective geometry, Klein's model, and Clifford algebra. We develop a Clifford algebra whose Pin group is a double cover of the group of regular projective transformations. The Clifford algebra we use is constructed as homogeneous model for the five-dimensional real projective space $P^5(\mathbb{R})$ where Klein's quadric $M_2^4$ defines the quadratic form. We discuss all entities that can be represented naturally in this homogeneous Clifford algebra model. Projective automorphisms of Klein's quadric induce projective transformations of $P^3(\mathbb{R})$ and vice versa. Cayley-Klein geometries can be represented by Clifford algebras, where the group of Cayley-Klein isometries is given by the Pin group of the corresponding Clifford algebra. Therefore, we examine the versor group and study the correspondence between versors and regular projective transformations represented as $4\times 4$ matrices. Furthermore, we give methods to compute a versor corresponding to a given projective transformation.

Abstract:The notion of a coherent space is a nonlinear version of the notion of a complex Euclidean space: The vector space axioms are dropped while the notion of inner product is kept. Coherent spaces provide a setting for the study of geometry in a different direction than traditional metric, topological, and differential geometry. Just as it pays to study the properties of manifolds independently of their embedding into a Euclidean space, so it appears fruitful to study the properties of coherent spaces independent of their embedding into a Hilbert space. Coherent spaces have close relations to reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, Fock spaces, and unitary group representations, and to many other fields of mathematics, statistics, and physics. This paper is the first of a series of papers and defines concepts and basic theorems about coherent spaces, associated vector spaces, and their topology. Later papers in the series discuss symmetries of coherent spaces, relations to homogeneous spaces, the theory of group representations, $C^*$-algebras, hypergroups, finite geometry, and applications to quantum physics. While the applications to quantum physics were the main motiviation for developing the theory, many more applications exist in complex analysis, group theory, probability theory, statistics, physics, and engineering.

Abstract:There exists a dictionary between hereditary orders and smooth stacky curves, resp. tame orders of global dimension 2 and Azumaya algebras on smooth stacky surfaces. We extend this dictionary by explaining how the restriction of a tame order to a curve on the underlying surface corresponds to the fiber product of the curve with the stacky surface. By considering "bad" intersections we can start extending the dictionary in the 1-dimensional case to include non-hereditary orders and singular stacky curves. Two applications of these results are a novel description and classification of noncommutative conics in graded Clifford algebras, giving a geometric proof of results of Hu-Matsuno-Mori, and a complete understanding and classification of skew cubics, generalizing the work of Kanazawa for Fermat skew cubics.

Abstract:Classically, Bézout's theorem says that an intersection of hypersurfaces in a projective space is rationally equivalent to a number of copies of a smaller projective space, the number depending on the degrees of the hypersurfaces. We give a generalization of that result to the context of $C_2$-equivariant hypersurfaces in $C_2$-equivariant linear projective space, expressing the intersection as a linear combination of equivariant Schubert varieties.

Abstract:We study various kinds of Grassmannians or Lagrangian Grassmannians over $\mathbb{R}$, $\mathbb{C}$ or $\mathbb{H}$, all of which can be expressed as $\mathbb{G}/\mathbb{P}$ where $\mathbb{G}$ is a classical group and $\mathbb{P}$ is a parabolic subgroup of $\mathbb{G}$ with abelian unipotent radical. The same Grassmannians can also be realized as (classical) compact symmetric spaces $G/K$. We give explicit generators and relations for the de Rham cohomology rings of $\mathbb{G}/\mathbb{P}\cong G/K$. At the same time we describe certain filtered deformations of these rings, related to Clifford algebras and spin modules. While the cohomology rings are of our primary interest, the filtered setting of $K$-invariants in the Clifford algebra actually provides a more conceptual framework for the results we obtain.

Abstract:We construct a Clifford algebra bundle formed from the tangent bundle of the smooth loop space of a Riemannian manifold, which is a bundle of super von Neumann algebras on the loop space. We show that this bundle is in general non-trivial, more precisely that its triviality is obstructed by the transgressions of the second Stiefel-Whitney class and the first (fractional) Pontrjagin class of the manifold.

Abstract:For each integer m>1 and l>0 we construct a pair of compact embedded minimal surfaces of genus 1+4m(m-1)l. These surfaces desingularize the m Clifford tori meeting each other along a great circle at the angle of \pi/m. They are invariant under a finite group of screw motions and have no reflection symmetry across a great sphere.

Abstract:Let $\Sigma$ be a fan inside the lattice $\mathbb{Z}^n$, and $\mathcal{E}:\mathbb{Z}^n \rightarrow \operatorname{Pic}{S}$ be a map of abelian groups. We introduce the notion of a principal toric fibration $\mathcal{X}_{\Sigma, \mathcal{E}}$ over the base scheme $S$, relativizing the usual toric construction for $\Sigma$. We show that the category of ind-coherent sheaves on such a fibration is equivalent to the global section of the Kashiwara-Schapira stack twisted by a certain local system of categories with stalk $\operatorname{Ind}\operatorname{Coh} S$. It is a simultaneous generalization of the work of Harder-Katzarkov [HK19] and of Kuwagaki [Kuw20], and should be seen as a family-version of the coherent-constructible correspondence [FLTZ11].

Abstract:Let $K$ be a $\mathbb{Q}$-Clifford algebra associated to an $(n-1)$-ary positive definite quadratic form and let $\mathcal{O}$ be a maximal order in $K$. A Clifford-Bianchi group is a group of the form $\operatorname{SL}_2(\mathcal{O})$ with $\mathcal{O}$ as above. The present paper is about the actions of $\operatorname{SL}_2(\mathcal{O})$ acting on hyperbolic space $\mathcal{H}^{n+1}$ via Möbius transformations $x\mapsto (ax+b)(cx+d)^{-1}$. We develop the general theory of orders exhibiting explicit orders in low dimensions of interest. These include, for example, higher-dimensional analogs of the Hurwitz order. We develop the abstract and computational theory for determining their fundamental domains and generators and relations (higher-dimensional Bianchi-Humbert Theory). We make connections to the classical literature on symmetric spaces and arithmetic groups and provide a proof that these groups are $\mathbb{Z}$-points of a $\mathbb{Z}$-group scheme and are arithmetic subgroups of $\operatorname{SO}_{1,n+1}(\mathbb{R})^{\circ}$ with their Möbius action. We report on our findings concerning certain Clifford-Bianchi groups acting on $\mathcal{H}^4$, $\mathcal{H}^5$, and $\mathcal{H}^6$ .

Abstract:Let Mn be a compact hypersurface with constant mean curvature H in Sn+1. Denote by S the squared norm of the second fundamental form of M. We prove that there exists an explicit positive constant γ(n) depending only on n such that if |H|≤γ(n) and β(n,H)≤S≤β(n,H)+n23, then S≡β(n,H) and M is one of the following cases: (i) Sk(kn)×Sn−k(n−kn), 1≤k≤n−1; (ii) S1(11+μ2)×Sn−1(μ1+μ2). Here β(n,H)=n+n32(n−1)H2+n(n−2)2(n−1)n2H4+4(n−1)H2 and μ=n|H|+n2H2+4(n−1)2. For n∈{6,12,24}, we give examples to show that the assumption |H|≤γ(n) cannot be removed.

Abstract:Given a compact Riemann surface $X$, we consider the line, in the space of sections of $2\Theta$ on $J^0(X)$, orthogonal to all the sections that vanish at the origin. This line produces a natural meromorphic bidifferential on $X\times X$ with a pole of order two on the diagonal. This bidifferential is extensively investigated. In particular we show that it produces a projective structure on $X$ which is different from the standard ones.

Abstract: In this note, we generalize a characterization of the Clifford torus due to Ros. Let $f:M\rightarrow S^{n+1}$ be an embedded closed minimal hypersurface. Assume there are $(n+2)$ great hyperspheres of $S^{n+1}$ perpendicular to each other, such that $M$ is symmetric with respect to them. Let $S$ denote the square of the length of the second fundamental form of $f$ and let $\bar S=\frac{1}{Vol(M)}\int_{M} Sd M$ be the average of $S$. Then $\bar S\geq n$ with equality holding if and only if $f$ is the Clifford torus $C_{m,n-m}$. It can be rewritten as a Simons' type theorem: If $0\leq \int_M (n-S)d M$, then either $S\equiv0$ or $S\equiv n$. This answers partially a conjecture by Perdomo. Moreover, the estimate of the Willmore energy of $f$ is built: $W(M)\geq n^{\frac{n}{2}}Vol(M)$.
