Abstract:We introduce an object that has obvious similarity to the classical one - the algebra of supersymmetric polynomials. Despite the similarity, the known structure theorems on supersymmetric polynomials do not help in the study of the new object, so we prove their counterpart for the new object.

Abstract:In this note we develop a systematic combinatorial definition for constructed earlier supersymmetric polynomial families. These polynomial families generalize canonical Schur, Jack and Macdonald families so that the new polynomials depend on odd Grassmann variables as well. Members of these families are labeled by respective modifications of Young diagrams. We show that the super-Macdonald polynomials form a representation of a super-algebra analog $\mathsf{T}(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_{1|1})$ of Ding-Ioahara-Miki (quantum toroidal) algebra, emerging as a BPS algebra of D-branes on a conifold. A supersymmetric modification for Young tableaux and Kostka numbers are also discussed.

Abstract:We introduce a polyadic analog of supersymmetry by considering the polyadization procedure (proposed by the author) applied to the toy model of one-dimensional supersymmetric quantum mechanics. The supercharges are generalized to polyadic ones using the $n$-ary sigma matrices defined in earlier work. In this way, polyadic analogs of supercharges and Hamiltonians take the cyclic shift block matrix form, and they can describe multidegenerated quantum states in a way that is different from the $N$-extended and multigraded SQM. While constructing the corresponding supersymmetry as an $n$-ary Lie superalgebra ($n$ is the arity of the initial associative multiplication), we have found new brackets with a reduced arity of $2\leq m<n$ and a related series of $m$-ary superalgebras (which is impossible for binary superalgebras). In the case of even reduced arity $m$ we obtain a tower of higher order (as differential operators) even Hamiltonians, while for $m$ odd we get a tower of higher order odd supercharges, and the corresponding algebra consists of the odd sector only.

Abstract:We associate a quotient of superspace to any hyperplane arrangement by considering the differential closure of an ideal generated by powers of certain homogeneous linear forms. This quotient is a superspace analogue of the external zonotopal algebra, and it further contains the central zonotopal algebra in the appropriate grading. We show that an evaluation of the bivariate Tutte polynomial is the bigraded Hilbert series of this quotient. We then use this fact to construct an explicit basis for the Macaulay inverse. These results generalize those of Ardila-Postnikov and Holtz-Ron. We also discuss enumerative consequences of our results in the setting of hyperplane arrangements.

The Schur-Weyl duality and Invariants for classical Lie superalgebras

Abstract:In this article, we provide a comprehensive characterization of invariants of classical Lie superalgebras from the super-analog of the Schur-Weyl duality in a unified way. We establish $\mathfrak{g}$-invariants of the tensor algebra $T(\mathfrak{g})$, the supersymmetric algebra $S(\mathfrak{g})$, and the universal enveloping algebra $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{g})$ of a classical Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ corresponding to every element in centralizer algebras and their relationship under supersymmetrization. As a byproduct, we prove that the restriction on $T(\mathfrak{g})^{\mathfrak{g}}$ of the projection from $T(\mathfrak{g})$ to $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{g})$ is surjective, which enables us to determine the generators of the center $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{g})$ except for $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{osp}_{2m|2n}$. Additionally, we present an alternative algebraic proof of the triviality of $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{p}_n)$. The key ingredient involves a technique lemma related to the symmetric group and Brauer diagrams.

Abstract:Orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras are fundamental symmetries in modern physics, such as massive supergravity. However, their representations are far from being thoroughly understood. In the present paper, we completely determine the structure of their various supersymmetric polynomial representations obtained by swapping bosonic multiplication operators and differential operators in the canonical supersymmetric polynomial representations. In particular, we obtain certain new infinite-dimensional irreducible representations and new composition series of indecomposable representations for these algebras.

Abstract:We show that in supersymmetric theories, knowing the soft theorem for a single particle in a supermultiplet allows one to immediately determine soft theorems for the remainder of the supermultiplet. While soft theorems in supersymmetric theories have a rich history, they have only been chronicled for specific examples due to the fact that they are usually derived with technical Feynman diagrammatics or amplitudes methods. By contrast, we show that one can compute soft theorems non-perturbatively for entire supermultiplets in one line of algebra. This formalism is directly applicable to the most general supersymmetric theory: one with an arbitrary matter content, number of supercharges, and spacetime dimension. We give many explicit examples illustrating the scope and dexterity of this framework.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the K-theoretic analogs of symplectic Schur functions and symplectic universal character. In this paper, we first show that the linear transformations of the vertex operators presentation of symplectic Schur functions are polynomial tau-functions of symplectic KP hierarchy, and give a new symmetric function called symplectic Grothendieck polynomial, together with its vertex operators and fermions realizations, then prove that these functions are also the polynomial tau-functions of the symplectic KP hierarchy. In addition, we extend these results to universal character, and give a generalization of symplectic Grothendieck polynomial, called symplectic Grothendieck universal character.

We classify such forms up to dimension seven in the case when the restrictions of the form to the even and odd parts of the superspace are nondegenerate. As an application, we introduce a new type of oscillator Lie superalgebra.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a supersymmetric version of block-symmetric polynomials on a Banach space of two-sided absolutely summing series of vectors in Cs for some positive integer s>1. We describe some sequences of generators of the algebra of block-supersymmetric polynomials and algebraic relations between the generators for the finite-dimensional case and construct algebraic bases of block-supersymmetric polynomials in the infinite-dimensional case. Furthermore, we propose some consequences for algebras of block-supersymmetric analytic functions of bounded type and their spectra. Finally, we consider some special derivatives in algebras of block-symmetric and block-supersymmetric analytic functions and find related Appell-type sequences of polynomials.

Generalized Super Bell Polynomials with Applications to Superymmetric Equations

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a class of new generalized super Bell polynomials on a superspace, explore their properties, and show that they are a natural and effective tool to systematically investigate integrability of supersymmetric equations. The connections between the super Bell polynomials and super bilinear representation, bilinear B\"{a}cklund transformation, Lax pair and infinite conservation laws of supersymmetric equations are established. We take supersymmetric KdV equation and supersymmetric sine-Gordon equation to illustrate this procedure.
On polynomial symmetry algebras underlying superintegrable systems in Darboux spaces

Abstract:We review three different approaches to polynomial symmetry algebras underlying superintegrable systems in Darboux spaces. The first method consists of using deformed oscillator algebra to obtain finite-dimensional representations of quadratic algebras. This allow one to gain information on the spectrum of the superintegrable systems. The second method has similarities with the induced module construction approach in the context of Lie algebras and can be used to construct infinite dimensional representations of the symmetry algebras. Explicit construction of these representations is a non-trivial task due to the non-linearity of the polynomial algebras. This method allows the construction of states of the superintegrable systems beyond the reach of separation of variables. As a result, we are able to construct a large number of states in terms of Airy, Bessel and Whittaker functions which would be difficult to obtain in other ways. We also discuss the third approach which is based on the notion of commutants of subalgebras in the enveloping algebra of a Poisson algebra or a Lie algebra. This allows us to discover new superintegrable models in the Darboux spaces and to construct their integrals and symmetry algebras via polynomials in the enveloping algebras.

Symmetric functions in noncommuting variables in superspace

Abstract:In 2004, Rosas and Sagan developed the theory of symmetric functions in noncommuting variables, achieving results analogous to classical symmetric functions. On the other hand, in 2004, Desrosiers, Lapointe and Mathieu introduced the theory of symmetric functions in superspace, which involve both commuting and anticommuting variables, extending the classic theory. Here, we introduce symmetric functions in noncommuting variables in superspace. We define the classical symmetric functions in noncommuting variables to superspace: monomials, power sums, elementaries and complete homogeneous, which generalize both the ones studied by Rosas and Sagan and the ones studied by Desrosiers, Lapointe and Mathieu. We also define Schur--type functions in noncommuting variables in superspace.

Gelfand-Dickey Realizations of the supersymmetric classical W-algebras for $\mathfrak{gl}(n+1|n)$ and $\mathfrak{gl}(n|n)$

Abstract:In this paper we realize the supersymmetric classical $W$-algebras $\mathcal{W}(\overline{\mathfrak{gl}}(n+1|n))$ and $\mathcal{W}(\overline{\mathfrak{gl}}(n|n))$ as differential algebras generated by the coefficients of a monic superdifferential operator $L$. In the case of $\mathcal{W}(\overline{\mathfrak{gl}}(n|n))$ (resp. $\mathcal{W}(\overline{\mathfrak{gl}}(n+1|n))$) this operator is even (resp. odd). We show that the supersymmetric Poisson vertex algebra bracket on these supersymmetric W-algebras is the supersymmetric analogue of the quadratic Gelfand-Dickey bracket associated to the operator $L$. Finally, we construct integrable hierarchies of evolutionary Hamiltonian PDEs on both W-algebras. A key observation is that to construct these hierarchies on the algebra $\mathcal{W}(\overline{\mathfrak{gl}}(n+1|n))$ one needs to introduce a new concept of even supersymmetric Poisson vertex algebras.

Abstract:These are expanded notes of lectures given at the Advanced Summer School on Modern Mathematical Physics (JINR Dubna, July 2005) and at the 8th International School-Seminar ``The actual problems of microworld physics 2005'' (Gomel-Dubna, August 2005). I review classical monopole solutions of the SU(N) Yang-Mills-Higgs theory. The first part is a pedagogical introduction into to the theory of non-Abelian SU(2) monopoles. In the second part I discuss a particular case of SU(3) theories containing different limits of symmetry breaking. It turns out that the multimonopole configurations are natural in a model with the gauge group of higher rank. Here I discuss fundamental and composite monopoles and consider the limiting situation of the massless states. In the last part I briefly discuss construction of the $N = 2$ SU(2) supersymmetric monopoles and some of the basic properties which are connected with the field theoretical aspects of these classical solutions.

Abstract:A nonzero element $x$ in a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with Lie product $[ , ]$ is called extremal if $[x,[x,y]]$ is a multiple of $x$ for all $y$. In this paper we characterize the (finitary) symplectic Lie algebras as simple Lie algebras generated by their extremal elements satisying the condition that any two noncommuting extremal elements $x,y$ generate an $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and any third extremal element $z$ commutes with at least one extremal element in this $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.

Symmetric Hyperbolic Polynomials

Abstract:Hyperbolic polynomials have been of recent interest due to applications in a wide variety of fields. We seek to better understand these polynomials in the case when they are symmetric, i.e. invariant under all permutations of variables. We give a complete characterization of the set of symmetric hyperbolic polynomials of degree 3, and a large class of symmetric hyperbolic polynomials of degree 4. For a class of polynomials, which we call hook-shaped, we relate symmetric hyperbolic polynomials to a class of linear maps of univariate polynomials preserving hyperbolicity, and give evidence toward a beautiful characterization of all such hook-shaped symmetric hyperbolic polynomials. We show that hyperbolicity cones of a class of symmetric hyperbolic polynomials, including all symmetric hyperbolic cubics, are spectrahedral. Finally, we connect testing hyperbolicity of a symmetric polynomial to the degree principle for symmetric nonnegative polynomials.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of the symplectic characteristic polynomial of an endomorphism of a symplectic vector space. This is a polynomial in two variables and can be considered as a generalization of the characteristic polynomial of the endomorphism in the context of symplectic linear algebra. One of the goal of this paper is to prove that the symplectic characteristic polynomial is a complete symplectic invariant of symplectically diagonalizable endomorphisms.

A multidimensional generalization of Symanzik polynomials

Abstract:Symanzik polynomials are defined on Feynman graphs and they are used in quantum field theory to compute Feynman amplitudes. They also appear in mathematics from different perspectives. For example, recent results show that they allow to describe asymptotic limits of geometric quantities associated to families of Riemann surfaces. In this paper, we propose a generalization of Symanzik polynomials to the setting of higher dimensional simplicial complexes and study their basic properties and applications. We state a duality relation between these generalized Symanzik polynomials and what we call Kirchhoff polynomials, which have been introduced in recent generalizations of Kirchhoff's matrix-tree theorem to simplicial complexes. Moreover, we obtain geometric invariants which compute interesting data on triangulable manifolds. As the name indicates, these invariants do not depend on the chosen triangulation. We furthermore prove a stability theorem concerning the ratio of Symanzik polynomials which extends a stability theorem of Amini to higher dimensional simplicial complexes. In order to show that theorem, we will make great use of matroids, and provide a complete classification of the connected components of the exchange graph of a matroid, a graph which encodes the exchange properties between independent sets of the matroid. We hope that this result could be of independent interest. Finally, we explain how to generalize Symanzik polynomials to the setting of matroids over hyperfields defined recently by Baker and Bowler.

Abstract:In this paper, we continue to study factorization of supersymmetric (SUSY) transformations in one-dimensional Quantum Mechanics into chains of elementary Darboux transformations with nonsingular coefficients. We define the class of potentials that are invariant under the Darboux - Crum transformations and prove a number of lemmas and theorems substantiating the formulated formerly conjectures on reducibility of differential operators for spectral equivalence transformations. Analysis of the general case is performed with all the necessary proofs.

Abstract:We describe an $N=2$ supersymmetric Poisson vertex algebra structure of $N=1$ (resp. $N=0$) classical $W$-algebra associated with $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1|n)$ and the odd (resp. even) principal nilpotent element. This $N=2$ supersymmetric structure is connected to the principal $\mathfrak{sl}(2|1)$-embedding in $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1|n)$ superalgebras, which are the only basic Lie superalgebras that admit such a principal embedding.
