Abstract:In this short paper we apply some recent techniques developed by Schonsheck, and subsequently Carr-Harper, in the context of operadic algebras in spectra -- on convergence of Bousfield-Kan completions and comparisons with convergence of the Taylor tower of the identity functor in Goodwillie's functor calculus -- to the setting of retractive spaces: this arises when working with spaces centered away from the one-point space. Interestingly, in the retractive spaces context, the comparison results are stronger in terms of convergence outside of functor calculus' notion of "radius of (strong) convergence" for analytic functors. In particular, we give a new proof (and generalization to retractive spaces) of the Arone-Kankaanrinta result for convergence of the Taylor tower of the identity functor to various Bousfield-Kan completions; it's notable that no use is made of Snaith splittings -- rather, we make extensive use of the kinds of homotopical estimates that appear in earlier work of Dundas and Dundas-Goodwillie-McCarthy.

A Quillen model structure of local homotopy equivalences

Abstract:In this note, we construct a closed model structure on the category of $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$-graded complexes of projective systems of ind-Banach spaces. When the base field is the fraction field $F$ of a complete discrete valuation ring $V$, the homotopy category of this model structure is the derived category of the quasi-abelian category $\overleftarrow{\mathsf{Ind}(\mathsf{Ban}_F)}$. This homotopy category is the appropriate target of the local and analytic cyclic homology theories for complete, torsionfree $V$-algebras and $\mathbb{F}$-algebras. When the base field is $\mathbb{C}$, the homotopy category is the target of local and analytic cyclic homology for pro-bornological $\mathbb{C}$-algebras, which includes the subcategory of pro-$C^*$-algebras.

Abstract:The Sullivan construction associates to each path connected space or connected simplicial set, $X$, a special cdga, its minimal model $(\land V,d)$, and to each such cdga $\land W$ its geometric realisation $\langle \land W\rangle$. The composite of these constructions is the Sullivan completion, $X_{\mathbb Q}$, of $X$. In this paper we give a survey of the main properties of Sullivan completions, and include explicit examples.

Abstract:bstract . Each choice of a Kähler class on a compact complex manifold defines an action of the Lie algebra sl (2) on its total complex cohomology. If a nonempty set of such Kähler classes is given, then we prove that the corresponding sl (2)-copies generate a semisimple Lie algebra. We investigate the formal properties of the resulting representation and we work things out explicitly in the case of complex tori, hyperkähler manifolds and flag varieties. We pay special attention to the cases where this leads to a Jordan algebra structure or a graded Frobenius algebra.

Abstract:We give a fully constructive proof that there is a proper cartesian $\omega$-combinatorial model structure on the category of simplicial sets, whose generating cofibrations and trivial cofibrations are the usual boundary inclusion and horn inclusion. The main difference with classical mathematics is that constructively not all monomorphisms are cofibrations (only those satisfying some decidability conditions) and not every object is cofibrant. The proof relies on three main ingredients: First, our construction of a weak model categories on simplicial sets, then the interplay with the semi-simplicial versions of this weak model structure and finally, the use of Kan Ex$^{\infty}$-functor, and more precisely of S.Moss' direct proof that the natural map $X \rightarrow $ Ex$^{\infty} X$ is an anodyne morphism, which we show is constructive when $X$ is cofibrant.

Abstract:It is proved that l(q)-completeness (1 < q< infinity) is equivalent to l(1)-completeness (defined by Saxon and Sanchez Ruiz), and becomes a new characteristic condition for local completeness. The relationship between dual local completeness, dual local quasi-completeness and the Banach-Mackey property is investigated. For a quasi-Mackey space, dual local quasi-completeness, c(o)-quasi-barrelledness, Ruess' property (quasi-L) and C-quasi-barrelledness are equivalent to each other.

Abstract:An involutive Lie bialgebra induces a Batalin-Vilkovisky operator on its exterior algebra. We introduce a graded generalization of the necklace Lie bialgebra, which depends on a choice of a quiver $Q$. We relate the resulting Batalin-Vilkovisky structure to the Batalin-Vilkovisky structure coming from a degree $-1$ symplectic form on a suitably defined representation variety of the quiver $Q$. The morphism intertwining these Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras will be given by a twisted trace, recovering the usual (super)trace and the odd trace.

Lie, associative and commutative quasi-isomorphism

Abstract:Over a field of characteristic zero, we show that two commutative differential graded (dg) algebras are quasi-isomorphic if and only if they are quasi-isomorphic as associative dg algebras. This answers a folklore problem in rational homotopy theory, showing that the rational homotopy type of a space is determined by its associative dg algebra of rational cochains. We also show a Koszul dual statement, under an additional completeness hypothesis: two homotopy complete dg Lie algebras whose universal enveloping algebras are quasi-isomorphic as associative dg algebras must themselves be quasi-isomorphic. The latter result applies in particular to nilpotent Lie algebras (not differential graded), in which case it says that two nilpotent Lie algebras whose universal enveloping algebras are isomorphic as associative algebras must be isomorphic.

Abstract:We establish a Quillen equivalence between the Kan-Quillen model structure and a model structure, derived from a cubical model of homotopy type theory, on the category of cartesian cubical sets with one connection. We thereby identify a second model structure which both constructively models homotopy type theory and presents infinity-groupoids, the first example being the equivariant cartesian model of Awodey-Cavallo-Coquand-Riehl-Sattler.

Localisations and completions of nilpotent $G$-spaces

Abstract:We develop the theory of nilpotent $G$-spaces and their localisations, for $G$ a compact Lie group, via reduction to the non-equivariant case using Bousfield localisation. One point of interest in the equivariant setting is that we can choose to localise or complete at different sets of primes at different fixed point spaces - and the theory works out just as well provided that you invert more primes at $K \leq G$ than at $H \leq G$, whenever $K$ is subconjugate to $H$ in $G$. We also develop the theory in an unbased context, allowing us to extend the theory to $G$-spaces which are not $G$-connected.

Abstract:It was showed by Donner in 1982 that every order complete vector lattice $X$ may be embedded into a cone $X^s$, called the sup-completion of $X$. We show that if one represents the universal completion of $X$ as $C^\infty(K)$, then $X^s$ is the set of all continuous functions from $K$ to $[-\infty,\infty]$ that dominate some element of $X$. This provides a functional representation of $X^s$, as well as an easy alternative proof of its existence.

Abstract:The construction of the formal ball model for metric spaces due to Edalat and Heckmann was generalized to ${\sf Q}$-categories by Kostanek and Waszkiewicz. This paper concerns the influence of the structure of the quantale ${\sf Q}$ on the connection between Yoneda completeness of ${\sf Q}$-categories and directed completeness of their sets of formal balls. In the case that ${\sf Q}$ is the interval $[0,1]$ equipped with a continuous t-norm $\&$, it is shown that in order that Yoneda completeness of each ${\sf Q}$-category be equivalent to directed completeness of its set of formal balls, a necessary and sufficient condition is that the t-norm $\&$ is Archimedean.

Abstract:We compare and generalise the various geometric constructions (due to Ringel, Lusztig, Schofield, Bozec, Davison...) of the unipotent generalised Kac–Moody algebra associated with an arbitrary quiver. These constructions are interconnected through several geometric operations, including the stalk Euler characteristic of constructible complexes, the characteristic cycle, the Euler obstruction map, and the intersection multiplicities of Lagrangian subvarieties. We provide a proof that these geometric realisations hold for the integral form of the Lie algebra. Furthermore, by modifying the generators of the enveloping algebra, we ensure compatibility with the natural coproducts that can be defined in terms of restriction diagrams. As a result, we establish that the top cohomological Hall algebra of the strictly seminilpotent stack is isomorphic to the positive part of the enveloping algebra of the generalised Kac-Moody algebra associated with the quiver. This appears to be one of the cornerstones needed to describe the BPS algebra of very general 2-Calabi–Yau categories, which is the subject of the author's work on BPS Lie algebras for 2-Calabi–Yau categories with Davison and Schlegel Mejia.

Abstract:The affinization morphism for the stack $\mathfrak{M}(\Pi_Q)$ of representations of a preprojective algebra $\Pi_Q$ is a local model for the morphism from the stack of objects in a general 2-Calabi-Yau category to the good moduli space. We show that the derived direct image of the dualizing complex along this morphism is pure, and admits a decomposition in the sense of the Beilinson-Bernstein-Deligne-Gabber decomposition theorem. We introduce a new perverse filtration on the Borel-Moore homology of $\mathfrak{M}(\Pi_Q)$, using this decomposition. We show that the zeroth piece of the resulting filtration on the cohomological Hall algebra built out of the Borel-Moore homology of $\mathfrak{M}(\Pi_Q)$ is isomorphic to the universal enveloping algebra of an associated BPS Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_{\Pi_Q}$. This Lie algebra is defined via the Kontsevich-Soibelman theory of critical cohomological Hall algebras for 3-Calabi-Yau categories. We then lift this Lie algebra to a Lie algebra object in the category of perverse sheaves on the coarse moduli space of $\Pi_Q$-modules, and use this algebra structure to prove results about the summands appearing in the above decomposition theorem. In particular, we prove that the intersection cohomology of singular spaces of semistable $\Pi_Q$-modules provide "cuspidal cohomology" - a conjecturally complete subspace of canonical generators for $\mathfrak{g}_{\Pi_Q}$.

Abstract:A weaker Mackey topology, infra-Mackey topology, is introduced. For an infra-Mackey space, dual local quasi-completeness, c0-quasi-barrelledness, Ruess' property (quasi-L) and C-quasi-barrelledness are equivalent to each other. Inspired by the definition of Mazur spaces, locally convex spaces are classified according to various conditions ensuring linear functionals continuous. In the classification, every class of special locally convex spaces is characterized by some completeness of the duals. From this, some new characterizations of quasi-barrelledness and barrelledness are given.

Abstract:We relate completions of infinitesimal Hecke algebras of sl2 to noncommutative deformations of Kleinian singularities of type D of Crawley-Boevey and Holland. As a consequence, we show an analogue of the inequality of Bernstein and simplicity of generic maximal primitive quotients of these algebras. We also establish Skryabin type equivalence for these algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the theory of complements, introduced by Shokurov, for Calabi-Yau type varieties with the coefficient set $[0,1]$. We show that there exists a finite set of positive integers $\mathcal{N}$, such that if a threefold pair $(X/Z\ni z,B)$ has an $\mathbb{R}$-complement which is klt over a neighborhood of $z$, then it has an $n$-complement for some $n\in\mathcal{N}$. We also show the boundedness of complements for $\mathbb{R}$-complementary surface pairs.
