Abstract:In this paper, we consider a critical Grushin-type problem with double potentials. By applying the reduction argument and local Pohouzaev identities, we construct a new family of solutions to this problem, which are concentrated at points lying on the top and the bottom circles of a cylinder.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a critical Grushin-type problem, which is closely related to the prescribed Webster scalar curvature problems on the CR sphere with cylindrically symmetric curvature. We first prove a non-degeneracy result through local Pohozaev identities, then by using the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction methods, we construct new type of multi-bubbling solutions with cylindrical symmetry.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the following critical fractional Schrödinger equation: \begin{equation} (-\Delta)^s u+V(|y'|,y'')u=K(|y'|,y'')u^{\frac{n+2s}{n-2s}},\quad u>0,\quad y =(y',y'') \in \mathbb{R}^3\times\mathbb{R}^{n-3}, \qquad(0.1)\end{equation} where $n\geq 3$, $s\in(0,1)$, $V(|y'|,y'')$ and $K(|y'|,y'')$ are two bounded nonnegative potential functions. Under the conditions that $K(r,y'')$ has a stable critical point $(r_0,y_0'')$ with $r_0>0$, $K(r_0,y_0'')>0$ and $V(r_0,y_0'')>0$, we prove that equation (0.1) has a new type of infinitely many solutions that concentrate at points lying on the top and the bottom of a cylinder. In particular, the bubble solutions can concentrate at a pair of symmetric points with respect to the origin. Our proofs make use of a modified finite-dimensional reduction method and local Pohozaev identities.

Under a local condition imposed on the potential, we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum values. In the proofs we apply Szulkin and Weth's generalized Nehari manifold methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.

Abstract:We consider the following critical fractional Schrödinger equation where , is the fractional critical Sobolev exponent and is a bounded non-negative function in . If has a stable critical point with and , by using a finite-dimensional reduction method and various local Pohozaev identities, we prove that the problem above has a new type of infinitely many solutions which concentrate at points lying on the top and the bottom of a cylinder. And the concentration points of the bubble solutions include saddle points of the function . We have to overcome some difficulties caused by the non-localness of the fractional Laplacian.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence, multiplicity and concentration behaviour of ground states for a class of quasilinear Schrodinger equations with critical growth. By using a change of variables, the quasilinear equations are reduced to a semilinear one, whose associated functionals are well defined in the usual Sobolev space and satisfy the geometric conditions of the mountain pass theorem. We relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum value. The proofs are based on the Ljusternik-Schnirelmann theory and variational methods.

Abstract:This paper concerns the critical points and the level sets of solutions of the Grushin equation in the plane. After exactly establishing descriptions about the critical points of the homogeneous Gruhin-harmonic polynomials and investigating the local geometric properties of the level sets near these critical points, we prove that the critical points of solutions of the Grushin equation are isolated and each critical point has finite multiplicity. We further estimate the numbers of interior critical points of solutions of the Dirichlet boundary value problem.

The standard approach based on the Pohozaev identity to obtain normalized solutions is invalid as the presence of potential. Besides, Our study can be regarded as a Sobolev critical case complement of Bartsch-Qi-Zou (Math Ann 390, 4813-4859, 2024), which has addressed an open problem raised in Bartsch et al.(Commun Partial Differ Equ 46(9):1729-1756,2021).

Abstract:In this paper, we study the fractional critical Schrödinger–Poisson system having prescribed mass where satisfy and parameters and is an undetermined parameter. For this problem, under the -subcritical perturbation , we derive the existence of multiple normalized solutions by means of the truncation technique, concentration-compactness principle and the genus theory. In the -supercritical perturbation , we prove two different results of normalized solutions when parameters satisfy different assumptions, by applying the constrained variational methods and the mountain pass theorem. Our results extend and improve some previous ones of Zhang et al. (Adv Nonlinear Stud 16:15–30, 2016); and of Teng (J Differ Equ 261:3061–3106, 2016), since we are concerned with normalized solutions.

We are concerned with the critical Choquard equation [math] where [math], [math] is the Riesz potential with order [math], and the exponent [math] is critical with respect to the Hardy–Littlewood–Sobolev inequality. By combining the variational gluing method and a penalization technique, for every [math], we prove the existence of infinitely many [math]-bump positive solutions for this nonlocal equation exhibiting a polynomial decay at infinity if the potential [math] is periodic in one of its variables and permits a global maxima with a fast decay rate near the maximum point. Our results demonstrate the nonlocal features of the Choquard equation and do not depend on the uniqueness or nondegeneracy property of positive solutions, which is in contrast to the results of the local Yamabe equation.

Abstract:We consider the following nonlinear Schrödinger equations with critical growth: \begin{equation} - \Delta u + V(|y|)u=u^{\frac{N+2}{N-2}},\quad u>0 \ \ \mbox{in} \ \mathbb {R}^N, \end{equation} where $V(|y|)$ is a bounded positive radial function in $C^1$, $N\ge 5$. By using a finite reduction argument, we show that if $r^2V(r)$ has either an isolated local maximum or an isolated minimum at $r_0>0$ with $V(r_0)>0$, there exists infinitely many non-radial large energy solutions which are invariant under some sub-groups of $O(3)$.

Abstract:We consider the blow-up solutions for the Gross-Pitaveskii equation modeling the attractive Boes-Einstein condensate. First, a new variational characteristic is established by computing the best constant of a generalized Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequality. Then, a lower bound on blow-up rate and a new concentration phenomenon of blow-up solutions are obtained in the L 2 supercritical case. Finally, in the L 2 critical case, a delicate limit of blow-up solutions is analyzed.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following Schrödinger equations with critical growth−Δu+(λa(x)−δ)u=|u|2⁎−2u,x∈RN, where N≥4, 2⁎ is the critical Sobolev exponent, a(x)≥0 and its zero sets are not empty, λ>0 is a parameter, δ>0 is a constant such that the operator (−Δ+λa(x)−δ) might be indefinite for λ large. We prove that if the zero sets of a(x) have several isolated connected components Ω1,⋯,Ωk such that the interior of Ωi(i=1,2,…,k) is not empty and ∂Ωi(i=1,2,…,k) is smooth. Then for λ sufficiently large, the equation admits, for any i∈{1,2,⋯,k}, a solution which is trapped in a neighborhood of Ωi. The key ingredients of the paper are using a flow argument and a combination of global linking and local linking.
