Abstract:Let P a locally finite partially ordered set, F a field, G a group, and I(P,F) the incidence algebra of P over F. We describe all the inequivalent elementary G-gradings on this algebra. If P is bounded, F is a infinite field of characteristic zero, and A, B are both elementary G-graded incidence algebras satisfying the same G-graded polynomial identities, and the automorphisms group of P acts transitively on the maximal chains of P , we show that A and B are graded isomorphic.

Abstract:Let $\mathbb{F}$ be a field and $\mathsf{G}$ a group. This work is inspired in the following problem: "{\it given a division (simple) $\mathsf{G}$-graded $\mathbb{F}$-algebra, is there any other division (simple) $\mathsf{G}$-graded $\mathbb{F}$-algebra such that the former can be $\mathsf{G}$-imbedded in the latter?}". In this work, we answer this question affirmatively for $\mathbb{F}$ algebraically closed, $\mathsf{G}$ finite abelian, and associative algebras of finite dimension. To prove this, we apply concepts and properties of Group Cohomology. We show $\mathcal{H}^2(H, \mathbb{F}^*)=\mathsf{res}^\mathsf{G}_H \left(\mathcal{H}^2(\mathsf{G}, \mathbb{F}^*)\right)$, where $H$ is a subgroup of $\mathsf{G}$ and $\mathsf{res}^\mathsf{G}_H$ is the restriction homomorphism. Posteriorly, we prove that, given any $H_1,H_2\leq\mathsf{G}$ and $\sigma_i\in\mathcal{Z}^2(H_i,\mathbb{F}^*)$, $i=1,2$, are equivalent: i) $\mathbb{F}^{\sigma_1}[H_1] \stackrel{\mathsf{G}}{\hookrightarrow} \mathbb{F}^{\sigma_2}[H_2]$; ii) $H_1\leq H_2$ and $[\sigma_1]=[\sigma_2]_{H_1}$; iii) $\mathsf{T}^{\mathsf{G}}(\mathbb{F}^{\sigma_2}[H_2])\subseteq \mathsf{T}^{\mathsf{G}}(\mathbb{F}^{\sigma_1}[H_1])$, where $\mathsf{T}^{\mathsf{G}}(\mathbb{F}^{\sigma_i}[H_i])$ is the $\mathsf{G}$T-ideal of graded identities of $\mathbb{F}^{\sigma_i}[H_i]$. Furthermore, we prove that, given $\mathfrak{A}$ and $\mathfrak{B}$ two finite dimensional simple $\mathsf{G}$-graded $\mathbb{F}$-algebras, if $\mathbb{F}$ is algebraically closed, $\mathsf{char}(\mathbb{F}) = 0$ or $\mathsf{char} (\mathbb{F})$ is coprime with the order of each finite subgroup of $\mathsf{G}$, and any subgroup of $\mathsf{G}$ is normal, then $\mathsf{T}^{\mathsf{G}}(\mathfrak{A})\subseteq \mathsf{T}^{\mathsf{G}}(\mathfrak{B})$ iff $\mathfrak{B} \stackrel{\mathsf{G}}{\hookrightarrow} \mathfrak{A}$.

Abstract:Classifying isomorphism classes of group gradings on algebras presents a compelling challenge, particularly within the realms of non-simple and infinite-dimensional algebras, which have been relatively unexplored. This study focuses on a kind of algebra that is neither simple nor finite-dimensional, aiming to classify the group gradings on triangularizable algebras as defined by Mesyan in 2019. The topology of infinite-dimensional algebras, along with the role of idempotent elements, plays a crucial role in our findings, leading to new insights and a deeper understanding of their structure.

Abstract:We consider the problem of classifying gradings by groups on a finite-dimensional algebra $A$ (with any number of multilinear operations) over an algebraically closed field. We introduce a class of gradings, which we call almost fine, such that every $G$-grading on $A$ is obtained from an almost fine grading on $A$ in an essentially unique way, which is not the case with fine gradings. For abelian groups, we give a method of obtaining all almost fine gradings if fine gradings are known. We apply these ideas to the case of semisimple Lie algebras in characteristic $0$: to any abelian group grading with nonzero identity component, we attach a (possibly nonreduced) root system and, in the simple case, construct an adapted grading by this root system.

Abstract:We classify up to isomorphism the gradings by arbitrary groups on the exceptional classical simple Lie superalgebras $G(3)$, $F(4)$ and $D(2,1;\alpha)$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $0$. To achieve this, we apply the recent method developed by A. Elduque and M. Kochetov to the known classification of fine gradings up to equivalence on the same superalgebras, which was obtained by C. Draper et al. in 2011. We also classify gradings on the simple Lie superalgebra $A(1,1)$, whose automorphism group is different from the other members of the $A$ series.

Abstract:In this paper we give a way of equipping the derivation algebra of a group algebra with the structure of a graded algebra. The derived group is used as the grading group. For the proof, the identification of the derivation with the characters of the adjoint action groupoid is used. These results also allow us to obtain the analogous structure of a graded algebra for outer derivations. A non-trivial graduation is obtained for all groups that are not perfect.

Abstract:We study the algebra of upper triangular matrices endowed with a group grading and a homogeneous involution over an infinite field. We compute the asymptotic behaviour of its (graded) star-codimension sequence. It turns out that the asymptotic growth of the sequence is independent of the grading and the involution under consideration, depending solely on the size of the matrix algebra. This independence of the group grading also applies to the graded codimension sequence of the associative algebra of upper triangular matrices.

Abstract:Abstract This paper is devoted to the study of multigraded algebras and multigraded linear series. For an ‐graded algebra , we define and study its volume function , which computes the asymptotics of the Hilbert function of . We relate the volume function to the volume of the fibers of the global Newton–Okounkov body of . Unlike the classical case of standard multigraded algebras, the volume function is not a polynomial in general. However, in the case when the algebra has a decomposable grading, we show that the volume function is a polynomial with nonnegative coefficients. We then define mixed multiplicities in this case and provide a full characterization for their positivity. Furthermore, we apply our results on multigraded algebras to multigraded linear series. Our work recovers and unifies recent developments on mixed multiplicities. In particular, we recover results on the existence of mixed multiplicities for (not necessarily Noetherian) graded families of ideals and on the positivity of the multidegrees of multiprojective varieties.

Quotient gradings and the intrinsic fundamental group

Abstract:Quotient grading classes are essential participants in the computation of the intrinsic fundamental group $\pi_1(A)$ of an algebra $A$. In order to study quotient gradings of a finite-dimensional semisimple complex algebra $A$ it is sufficient to understand the quotient gradings of twisted gradings. We establish the graded structure of such quotients using Mackey's obstruction class. Then, for matrix algebras $A=M_n(\mathbb{C})$ we tie up the concepts of braces, group-theoretic Lagrangians and elementary crossed products. We also manage to compute the intrinsic fundamental group of the diagonal algebras $A=\mathbb{C} ^4$ and $A=\mathbb{C} ^5$.

Abstract:We consider a locally compact Hausdorff groupoid $G$ which is graded over a discrete group. Then the fibre over the identity is an open and closed subgroupoid $G_e$. We show that both the full and reduced C*-algebras of this subgroupoid embed isometrically into the full and reduced C*-algebras of $G$; this extends a theorem of Kaliszewski--Quigg--Raeburn from the étale to the non-étale setting. As an application we show that the full and reduced C*-algebras of $G$ are topologically graded in the sense of Exel, and we discuss the full and reduced C*-algebras of the associated bundles.

Abstract:Any finite-dimensional commutative (associative) graded algebra with all nonzero homogeneous subspaces one-dimensional is defined by a symmetric coefficient matrix. This algebraic structure gives a basic kind of $A$-graded algebras originally studied by Arnold. In this paper, we call them diagonally graded commutative algebras (DGCAs) and verify that the isomorphism classes of DGCAs of dimension $\leq 7$ over an arbitrary field are in bijection with the equivalence classes consisting of coefficient matrices with the same distribution of nonzero entries, while dramatically there may be infinitely many isomorphism classes of dimension $n$ corresponding to one equivalence class of coefficient matrices when $n\geq 8$.

Abstract:When one studies the structure (e.g. graded ideals, graded subspaces, radicals, ...) or graded polynomial identities of graded algebras, the grading group itself does not play an important role, but can be replaced by any other group that realizes the same grading. Here we come to the notion of weak equivalence of gradings: two gradings are weakly equivalent if there exists an isomorphism between the graded algebras that maps each graded component onto a graded component. The following question arises naturally: when a group grading on a finite dimensional algebra is weakly equivalent to a grading by a finite group? It turns out that this question can be reformulated purely group theoretically in terms of the universal group of the grading. Namely, a grading is weakly equivalent to a grading by a finite group if and only if the universal group of the grading is residually finite with respect to a special subset of the grading group. The same is true for all the coarsenings of the grading if and only if the universal group of the grading is hereditarily residually finite with respect to the same subset. We show that if $n\geqslant 349$, then on the full matrix algebra $M_n(F)$ there exists an elementary group grading that is not weakly equivalent to any grading by a finite (semi)group, and if $n\leqslant 3$, then any elementary grading on $M_n(F)$ is weakly equivalent to an elementary grading by a finite group.

Abstract:Using a variety of methods developed in the theory of finite-dimensional quasi-Hopf algebras, we classify all finite-dimensional coradically graded pointed coquasi-Hopf algebras over abelian groups. As a consequence, we partially confirm the generation conjecture of pointed finite tensor categories due to Etingof, Gelaki, Nikshych and Ostrik.

Abstract:We generalise two facts about finite dimensional algebras to finite dimensional differential graded algebras. The first is the Nakayama Lemma and the second is that the simples can detect finite projective dimension. We prove two dual versions which relate to Gorenstein differential graded algebras and Koszul duality respectively. As an application, we prove a corepresentability result for finite dimensional differential graded algebras.

If $A$ is an associative $K$-algebra, we say that a polynomial $f(x_1,\ldots, x_n) \in K \langle X\rangle$ is a polynomial identity, or simply an identity in $A$ if $f(a_1,\ldots, a_n) = 0$ for every $a_1, \ldots, a_n \in A$. Furthermore, we compute a basis for the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded identities of $\mathcal{A}$, and also for the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded identities with graded involution. Moreover, we describe the cocharacters of this algebra.

Abstract:Abstract We prove that it is decidable whether or not a finitely generated submonoid of a virtually free group is graded, introduce a new geometric characterization of graded submonoids in virtually free groups as quasi-geodesic submonoids, and show that their word problem is rational (as a relation). We also solve the isomorphism problem for this class of monoids, generalizing earlier results for submonoids of free monoids. We also prove that the classes of graded monoids, regular monoids and Kleene monoids coincide for submonoids of free groups.
