Abstract:Let $F$ be a $p$-adic field and $(\pi, V)$ an irreducible complex representation of $G=GSp(4, F)$ with trivial central character. Let ${\rm Si}(\mathfrak{p}^2)\subset G$ denote the Siegel congruence subgroup of level $\mathfrak{p}^2$ and $u\in N_G({\rm Si}(\mathfrak{p}^2))$ the Atkin-Lehner element. We compute the dimension of the space of ${\rm Si}(\mathfrak{p}^2)$-fixed vectors in $V$ as well as the signatures of the involutions $\pi(u)$ acting on these spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we compute the conjugacy classes and the list of irreducible characters of GSp(4,q), where q is odd. We also determine precisely which irreducible characters are non-cuspidal and which are generic. These characters are then used to compute dimensions of certain subspaces of fixed vectors of smooth admissible non-supercuspidal representations of GSp(4,F), where F is a non-archimedean local field of characteristic zero with residue field of order q.

Abstract:We establish strong constraints on the kernel of the (reduced) Burau representation $\beta_4:B_4\to \text{GL}_3\left(\mathbb{Z}\left[q^{\pm 1}\right]\right)$ of the braid group $B_4$. We develop a theory to explicitly determine the entries of the Burau matrices of braids in $B_4$, and this is an important step toward demonstrating that $\beta_4$ is faithful (a longstanding question posed in the 1930s). The theory is based on a novel combinatorial interpretation of $\beta_4\left(g\right)$, in terms of the Garside normal form of $g\in B_4$ and a new product decomposition of positive braids. We develop cancellation results for words in matrix groups to show that if $\sigma$ is a generic positive braid in $B_4$ and if $t\neq 2$ is a prime number, then the leading coefficients in at least one row of the matrix $\beta_4\left(\sigma\right)$ are non-zero modulo $t$. We exploit these cancellation results to deduce that the Burau representation of $B_4$ is faithful almost everywhere.

Abstract:In the context of the Kuznetsov trace formula, we outline the theory of the Bessel functions on $GL(n)$ as a series of conjectures designed as a blueprint for the construction of Kuznetsov-type formulas with given ramification at infinity. We are able to prove one of the conjectures at full generality on $GL(n)$ and most of the conjectures in the particular case of the long Weyl element; as with previous papers, we give some unconditional results on Archimedean Whittaker functions, now on $GL(n)$ with arbitrary weight. We expect the heuristics here to apply at the level of real reductive groups. In an appendix, we make good progress toward series and integral representations of $GL(4)$ Bessel functions by proving several of the conjectures for $GL(4)$.

Abstract:We find a recursive expression for the Bessel function of S. I. Gelfand for irreducible generic representations of $\operatorname{GL}_n\left(\mathbb{F}_q\right)$. We show that special values of the Bessel function can be realized as the coefficients of $L$-functions associated with exotic Kloosterman sums, and as traces of exterior powers of Katz's exotic Kloosterman sheaves. As an application, we show that certain polynomials, having special values of the Bessel function as their coefficients, have all of their roots lying on the unit circle. As another application, we show that special values of the Bessel function of the Shintani base change of an irreducible generic representation are related to special values of the Bessel function of the representation through Dickson polynomials.

Abstract:We study Beurling-Fourier algebras of $ q $-deformations of compact semisimple Lie groups. In particular, we show that the space of irreducible representations of the function algebras of their Drinfeld doubles is exhausted by the irreducible representations of weighted Fourier algebras associated to a certain family of central weights.

Abstract:In 2019, Jung–Weber gave an example of a concrete magic unitary M , which defines a C* -algebraic model of the quantum permutation group S4+ . We show with the help of a computer that there exist no polynomials up to degree 50 separating the entries of M from the generators of C(S4+) . This indicates that the magic unitary M might already define a faithful model of S4+ .

Abstract:The group $S_4$ of permutations on four elements has an irreducible representation corresponding to the partition 4=2+2. This representation appears in several different mathematical contexts: the Jacobi identity of Lie algebras; the Schouten identity for spinors; differences and the cross ratio in the projective plane; the Grassmannian space of 2-planes in linear algebra; the Riemann tensor in differential geometry; and more. We observe that all these occurrences are connected through perturbative non-abelian gauge theory, thereby acting as a leitmotif.

Abstract:In this paper, the irreducible representations of the coordinate ring Oq(spC2n) of quantum symplectic space are classified. Especially, the De Concini–Kac–Procesi conjecture is proved to be true for this algebra. The main steps are the computation of the center and the degree of the algebra Oq(spC2n) by using the associated quasipolynomial algebra Oq(spC2n), find some “good” points in the underlying symplectic leaves and construct some quasipolynomial algebras correspond to these “good” points.

Abstract:We study the three-point quantum $\mathfrak{sl_2}$-Gaudin model. In this case the compactification of the parameter space is $\overline{M_{0,4}(\mathbb{C})}$, which is the Riemann sphere. We analyze sphere coverings by the joint spectrum of the Gaudin Hamiltonians treating them as algebraic curves. We write equations of these curves as determinants of tridiagonal matrices and deduce some consequences regarding the geometric structure of the Gaudin coverings.

Abstract:We show that for any irreducible representation of $Sp_{4n}(F_{q})$, the subspace of all its $Sp_{2n}(F_{q^{2}})$-invariants is at most one-dimensional. In terms of Lusztig symbols, we give a complete list of irreducible unipotent representations of $Sp_{4n}(F_{q})$ which have a nonzero $Sp_{2n}(F_{q^{2}})$-invariant and, in particular, we prove that every irreducible unipotent cuspidal representation has a one-dimensional subspace of $Sp_{2n}(F_{q^{2}})$-invariants. As an application, we give an elementary proof of the fact that the unipotent cuspidal representation is defined over $Q$, which was proved by Lusztig.

Abstract:We build representations of the affine and double affine braid groups and Hecke algebras of type $C^\vee C_n$, based upon the theory of quantum symmetric pairs $(U,B)$. In the case $U=U_q(gl_N)$, our constructions provide a quantization of the representations constructed by Etingof, Freund and Ma in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="0801.1530" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/0801.1530">arXiv:0801.1530</a>, and also a type $BC$ generalization of the results in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="0805.2766" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/0805.2766">arXiv:0805.2766</a>.

Abstract:The quantum double $D(G)=\Bbb C(G)\rtimes \Bbb C G$ of a finite group plays an important role in the Kitaev model for quantum computing, as well as in associated TQFT's, as a kind of Poincaré group. We interpret the known construction of its irreps, which are quasiparticles for the model, in a geometric manner strictly analogous to the Wigner construction for the usual Poincaré group of $\Bbb R^{1,3}$. Irreps are labelled by pairs $(C, \pi)$, where $C$ is a conjugacy class in the role of a mass-shell, and $\pi$ is a representation of the isotropy group $C_G$ in the role of spin. The geometric picture entails $D^\vee(G)\to \Bbb C(C_G)\blacktriangleright\!\!\!\!< \Bbb C G$ as a quantum homogeneous bundle where the base is $G/C_G$, and $D^\vee(G)\to \Bbb C(G)$ as another homogeneous bundle where the base is the group algebra $\Bbb C G$ as noncommutative spacetime. Analysis of the latter leads to a duality whereby the differential calculus and solutions of the wave equation on $\Bbb C G$ are governed by irreps and conjugacy classes of $G$ respectively, while the same picture on $\Bbb C(G)$ is governed by the reversed data. Quasiparticles as irreps of $D(G)$ also turn out to classify irreducible bicovariant differential structures $\Omega^1_{C, \pi}$ on $D^\vee(G)$ and these in turn correspond to braided-Lie algebras $\mathcal{L}_{C, \pi}$ in the braided category of $G$-crossed modules, which we call `braided racks' and study. We show under mild assumptions that $U(\mathcal{L}_{C,\pi})$ quotients to a braided Hopf algebra $B_{C,\pi}$ related by transmutation to a coquasitriangular Hopf algebra $H_{C,\pi}$.

Abstract:I describe the \emph{Chiral rings} $R_{3,4}$ for $3$D, $N=4$ supersymmetric $G$-gauge theory and matter fields in quaternionic representations $E$: first, by a topological tweak of the construction of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1601.03586" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1601.03586">arXiv:1601.03586</a>, and second, more explicitly, by Weyl group descent from the maximal torus. A topological obstruction is $w_4(E)$ modulo squares, for $R_3$; a secondary obstruction, from $\eta\cdot E$, may appear for $R_4$. Flatness over the Toda bases allows their calculation by reduction to $\mathrm{SU}_2$. For some representations, an Abelianization formula describes the $R$ in terms of the maximal torus and the Weyl group. This provides an alternative to a recent attempt <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2201.09475" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.09475">arXiv:2201.09475</a>.

Gauss-Lusztig Decomposition for $GL_q^+(N,R)$ and Representation by q-Tori

Abstract:We found an explicit construction of a representation of the positive quantum group $GL_q^+(N,\R)$ and its modular double $GL_{q\til[q]}^+(N,\R)$ by positive essentially self-adjoint operators. Generalizing Lusztig's parametrization, we found a Gauss type decomposition for the totally positive quantum group $GL_q^+(N,\R)$ for $|q|=1$, parametrized by the standard decomposition of the longest element $w_0\in W=S_{N-1}$. Under this parametrization, we found explicitly the relations between the standard quantum variables, the relations between the quantum cluster variables, and realizing them using non-compact generators of the $q$-tori $uv=q^2 vu$ by positive essentially self-adjoint operators. The modular double arises naturally from the transcendental relations, and an $L^2(GL_{q\til[q]}^+(N,\R))$ space in the von Neumann setting can also be defined.

Abstract:We classify the finite dimensional representations of the quantum symmetric pair coideal subalgebra $B_{\mathbf c}$ of type $DII$ corresponding to the symmetric pair $(so(2N),so(2N-1))$. For $B_{\mathbf c}$ defined over an arbitrary field $k$ and $q\in k$ not a root of unity we establish a one-to-one correspondence between finite dimensional, simple $B_{\mathbf c}$-modules and dominant integral weights for $so(2N-1)$. We use specialisation to show that the category of finite dimensional $B_{\mathbf c}$-modules is semisimple if $\mathrm{char}(k)=0$ and $q$ is transcendental over ${\mathbb Q}$. In this case the characters of simple $B_{\mathbf c}$-modules are given by Weyl's character formula. This means in particular that the quantum symmetric pair of type $DII$ can be used to obtain Gelfand-Tsetlin bases for irreducible representations of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group $U_q(so(2N))$.

Abstract:The braid group $B_4$ naturally acts on the rational projective plane $\mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{Q})$, this action corresponds to the classical integral reduced Burau representation of $B_4$. The first result of this paper is a classification of the orbits of this action. The Burau representation then defines an action of $B_4$ on $\mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{Z}(q))$, where $q$ is a formal parameter and $\mathbb{Z}(q)$ is the field of rational functions in $q$ with integer coefficients. We study orbits of the $B_4$-action on $\mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{Z}(q))$, and show existence of embeddings of the $q$-deformed projective line $\mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{Z}(q))$ that precisely correspond to the notion of $q$-rationals due to Morier-Genoud and Ovsienko.
