Abstract:We study spaces $X$ for which the space $Hom_p(X)$ of automorphisms with the topology of point-wise convergence is a topological group. We identify large classes of spaces $X$ for which $Hom_p(X)$ is or is not a topological group.

Abstract:We extend the Dikranjan-Uspenskij notions of c-compact and h-complete topological group to the morphism level, study the stability properties of the newly defined types of maps, such as closure under direct products, and compare them with their counterparts in topology. We assume Hausdorffness only when our proofs require us to do so, which leads to new results and the affirmation of some facts that were known in a Hausdorff context.

Abstract:For two not necessarily commutative topological groups G and T, let H(G,T) denote the space of all continuous homomorphisms from G to T with the compact-open topology. We prove that if G is metrizable and T is compact then H(G,T) is a k-space. As a consequence we obtain that if G_1 is a dense subgroup of G then H(G_1,T) is homeomorphic to H(G,T), and if G is separable h-complete, then the natural map G --> C(H(G,T),T) is open onto its image.

Abstract:AbstractIn this paper, it is shown that there exists a connected topological group which is not homeomorphic to any $\omega $-narrow topological group, and also that there exists a zero-dimensional topological group $G$ with neutral element $e$ such that the subspace $X = G\setminus \{e\}$ is not homeomorphic to any topological group. These two results give negative answers to two open problems in Arhangel’skii and Tkachenko [Topological Groups and Related Structures (Atlantis Press, Amsterdam, 2008)]. We show that if a compact topological group is a $K$-space, then it is metrisable. This result gives an affirmative answer to a question posed by Malykhin and Tironi [‘Weakly Fréchet–Urysohn and Pytkeev spaces’, Topology Appl. 104 (2000), 181–190] in the category of topological groups. We also prove that a regular $K$-space $X$ is a weakly Fréchet–Urysohn space if and only if $X$has countable tightness.

Abstract:It is important to classify covering subgroups of the fundamental group of a topological space using their topological properties in the topologized fundamental group. In this paper, we introduce and study some topologies on the fundamental group and use them to classify coverings, semicoverings, and generalized coverings of a topological space. To do this, we use the concept of subgroup topology on a group and discuss their properties. In particular, we explore which of these topologies make the fundamental group a topological group. Moreover, we provide some examples of topological spaces to compare topologies of fundamental groups.

Abstract:This paper develops a basic theory of H-groups. We introduce a special quotient of H-groups and extend some algebraic constructions of topological groups to the category of H-groups and H-maps. We use these constructions to prove some advantages in topological homotopy groups. Also, we present a family of spaces that their topological fundamental groups are indiscrete topological group and find out a family of spaces whose topological fundamental group is a topological group.

Abstract:We study the topological structure of the automorphism groups of compact quantum groups showing that, in parallel to a classical result due to Iwasawa, the connected component of identity of the automorphism group and of the “inner” automorphism group coincide. For compact matrix quantum groups, which can be thought of as quantum analogues of compact Lie groups, we prove that the inner automorphism group is a compact Lie group and the outer automorphism group is discrete. Applications of this to the study of group actions on compact quantum groups are highlighted. We end by providing examples of compact matrix quantum groups with infinitely-generated fusion rings, in stark contrast with the classical situation. Along the way we study the invariant theory of finite group actions on free Laurent rings and show that the rings of invariants are, in general, not finitely generated.

Abstract:The article is devoted to a structure of topological spaces related with topological quasigroups. Regular and complete spaces over topological quasigroups are studied. Separations and embeddings are also investigated for them. Their homeomorphisms and isomorphisms, relations between compactifications and completeness are scrutinized over topological quasigroups. There are investigated applications to families of maps over topological quasigroups, restrictions of mappings, their openness, continuous bijections. Abstract:In this article topologies on metagroups are studied. They are related with generalized $C^*$-algebras over ${\bf R}$ or ${\bf C}$. Homomorphisms and quotient maps on them are investigated. Structure of topological metagroups is scrutinized. In particular, topologies on smashed products and smashed twisted wreath products of metagroups are scrutinized, which are making them topological metagroups. Moreover, their inverse homomorphism systems are studied.

This implies that the quasitopological fundamental group of a connected locally path connected topological group is a topological group. Also, we show that every covering space of a connected locally path connected topological group is a topological group and its covering map is homomorphism.
A Class of Homeomorphisms on Homogeneous Spaces of a Group Action

Abstract:We develop a class of homeomorphisms on a compact homogeneous space of a transitive group action and show how the class sheds new light on a decomposition problem. We further use this class to show that every such homogeneous space in a locally convex topological vector space which is also convex must necessarily be trivial, ie. a singleton set. Additionally, this class of homeomorphisms allows us to relate the induced group action on the space of continuous functions to the action on the homogeneous space.

Abstract:For a path connected, locally path connected and semilocally simply connected space $X$, let $\Pi_1(X)$ denote its topologised fundamental groupoid as established in the first article of this series. Let $\mathcal{E}$ be the category of $\Pi_1(X)$-spaces in which the momentum maps are local homeomorphisms. We show that this category is isomorphic to that of covering spaces of $X$. Using this, we give different characterisations for free or proper actions of the fundamental groupoid in $\mathcal{E}$.

Abstract:We study generic properties of topological groups in the sense of Baire category. First, we investigate countably infinite groups. We extend a classical result of B. H. Neumann, H. Simmons and A. Macintyre on algebraically closed groups and the word problem. Recently, I. Goldbring, S. Kunnawalkam Elayavalli, and Y. Lodha proved that every isomorphism class is meager among countably infinite groups. In contrast, it follows from the work of W. Hodges on model-theoretic forcing that there exists a comeager isomorphism class among countably infinite abelian groups. We present a new elementary proof of this result. Then, we turn to compact metrizable abelian groups. We use Pontryagin duality to show that there is a comeager isomorphism class among compact metrizable abelian groups. We discuss its connections to the countably infinite case. Finally, we study compact metrizable groups. We prove that the generic compact metrizable group is neither connected nor totally disconnected; also it is neither torsion-free nor a torsion group.
