Abstract:We study the weighted constant scalar curvature Kähler equations on mildly singular Kähler varieties. Under an assumption on the existence of certain resolution of singularities, we prove the existence of singular weighted constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics when the weighted Mabuchi functional is coercive. This extends the work of Chen and Cheng to the singular weighted setting.

More precisely, we establish a priori $C^{k}$-estimates ($k\geq 0$) for the Kähler potential associated with these metrics, thereby extending a result due to Chen and Cheng in the classical cscK setting.

Abstract:Generalizing previous results of Arezzo-Pacard-Singer, Seyyedali-Székelyhidi and Hallam, we prove the invariance under smooth blowups of the class of weighted extremal Kähler manifolds, modulo a log-concavity assumption on the first weight. Through recent work of Di Nezza-Jubert-Lahdili and Han-Liu, this is obtained as a consequence of a general uniform coercivity estimate for the (relative, weighted) Mabuchi energy on the blowup, which applies more generally to any equivariant resolution of singularities of Fano type of a compact Kähler klt space whose Mabuchi energy is assumed to be coercive.

Abstract:In this paper, we apply our previous estimates in Chen and Cheng [ On the constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics (I): a priori estimates , Preprint] to study the existence of cscK metrics on compact Kähler manifolds. First we prove that the properness of K K -energy in terms of L 1 L^1 geodesic distance d 1 d_1 in the space of Kähler potentials implies the existence of cscK metrics. We also show that the weak minimizers of the K K -energy in ( E 1 , d 1 ) (\mathcal {E}^1, d_1) are smooth cscK potentials. Finally we show that the non-existence of cscK metric implies the existence of a destabilized L 1 L^1 geodesic ray where the K K -energy is non-increasing, which is a weak version of a conjecture by Donaldson. The continuity path proposed by Xiuxiong Chen [Ann. Math. Qué. 42 (2018), pp. 69–189] is instrumental in the above proofs.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence of extremal metrics on toric Kähler surfaces. We show that on every toric Kähler surface, there exists a Kähler class in which the surface admits an extremal metric of Calabi. We found a toric Kähler surface of 9 TC2-fixed points which admits an unstable Kähler class and there is no extremal metric of Calabi in it. Moreover, we prove a characterization of the K-stability of toric surfaces by simple piecewise linear functions. As an application, we show that among all toric Kähler surfaces with 5 or 6 TC2-fixed points, CP2#3CP¯2 is the only one which allows vanishing Futaki invariant and admits extremal metrics of constant scalar curvature.

Weighted K-stability for a class of non-compact toric fibrations

Abstract:We study the weighted constant scalar curvature, a modified scalar curvature introduced by Lahdili depending on weight functions $(v, w)$, on certain non-compact semisimple toric fibrations, a generalization of the Calabi Ansatz defined by Apostolov--Calderbank--Gauduchon--Tønnesen-Friedman. We show that the natural analog of the weighted Futaki invariant of Lahdili can under reasonable assumptions be interpreted on an unbounded polyhedron $P \subset \mathbb{R}^n$ associated to $M$. In particular, we fix a certain class $\mathcal{W}$ of weights $(v, w)$, and prove that if $M$ admits a weighted cscK metric, then $P$ is K-stable, and we give examples of weights on $\mathbb{C}^2$ for which the weighted Futaki invariant vanishes but do not admit $(v, w)$-cscK metrics. Following Jubert, we introduce a weighted Mabuchi energy $\mathcal{M}_{v,w}$ and show that the existence of a $(v, w)$-cscK metric implies that it $\mathcal{M}_{v,w}$ proper, and prove a uniqueness result using the method of Guan. We show that weighted K-stability of the abstract fiber $\mathbb{C}$ is sufficient for the existence of weighted cscK metrics on the total space of line bundles $L \rightarrow B$ over a compact Kähler base, extending a result of Lahdili in the $\mathbb{P}^1$-bundles case. The right choice of weights corresponds to the (shrinking) Kähler-Ricci soliton equation, and we give an interpretation of the asyptotic geometry in this case.

The weighted Hermite--Einstein equation

Abstract:We introduce a new weighted version of the Hermite--Einstein equation, along with notions of weighted slope (semi/poly)stability, and prove that a vector bundle admits a weighted Hermite--Einstein metric if and only if it is weighted slope polystable. The new equation encompasses several well-known examples of canonical Hermitian metrics on vector bundles, including the usual Hermite--Einstein metrics, Kähler--Ricci solitons, and transversally Hermite--Einstein metrics on certain Sasaki manifolds. We prove that the equation arises naturally as a moment map, that solutions to the equation are unique up to scaling, and demonstrate a weighted Kobayashi--Lübke inequality satisfied by vector bundles admitting a weighted Hermite--Einstein metric. As an application of our techniques, we extend a bound of Tian on the Ricci curvature to a bound on a modified Ricci curvature, related to the existence of Kähler--Ricci solitons. Along the way, we introduce a new weighted vortex equation, as well as a weighted analogue of Gieseker stability. A key technical point is the application of a new extension of Inoue's equivariant intersection numbers to arbitrary weight functions on the moment polytope of a Kähler manifold with Hamiltonian torus action.

Abstract:In the infinite dimensional space of Kahler potentials, the geodesic equation of disc type is a complex homogenous Monge-Amp re equation. The partial regularity theory established by Chen and Tian [C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 340 (5) (2005)] amounts to an improvement of the regularity of the known C-1,C-1 solution to the geodesic of disc type to almost everywhere smooth. For such an almost smooth solution, we prove that the K-energy functional is sub-harmonic along such a solution. We use this to prove the uniqueness of extremal Kahler metrics and to establish a lower bound for the modified K-energy if the underlying Kahler class admits an extremal Kahler metric. Abstract:This is largely an exposition article that expands the author's talk at the Xiamen International Conference on Geometric Analysis in June 2021. We first survey the author's joint work with Jiyuan Han on the Yau-Tian-Donaldson (YTD) conjecture for $g$-weighted Kähler-Ricci solitons ($g$-solitons). We then review recent works of Apostolov-Canderbank-Jubert-Lahdili which establish a connection between a particular $g$-soliton equation with Ricci-flat Kähler cone metrics (or equivalently Sasaki-Einstein metrics). The main interest in this connection is the transformation of a possibly irregular Sasaki-Einstein metric to a particular $g$-soliton equation on any quasi-regular quotient. We will revisit this transformation by understanding how the corresponding transversal complex Monge-Ampère equations are transformed under the deformation of Reeb vector fields. Finally we explain how this PDE/pluripotential point of view allows one to prove the YTD conjecture for general Fano cones by combining the YTD conjecture for $g$-solitons on log Fano pairs and the above transformation.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct complete constant scalar curvature Kähler (cscK) metrics on the complement of the zero section in the total space of ${\mathcal{O}(-1)^{\oplus2}}$ over ${\mathbb{P}^{1}}$, which is biholomorphic to the smooth part of the cone C 0 in ${\mathbb{C}^{4}}$ defined by equation ${\Sigma_{i=1}^{4} w_{i}^{2}=0}$. On its small resolution and its deformation, we also consider complete cscK metrics and find that if the cscK metrics are homogeneous, then they must be Ricci-flat.

Abstract:In this note, we introduce a new continuity path of fourth order nonlinear equations connecting the cscK equation to a second order elliptic equation, which is the critical point equation of the J-flow introduced by Donaldson (Asian J Math 3(1):1–16, 1999) and the author (Commun Anal Geom 12(4):837–852, 2004). This is a generalization of the classical Aubin continuity path for Kähler–Einstein metrics. The aim of this new path is to attack the existence problem of cscK metric. The “openness” along this continuity path is proved and a set of open problems associated with this new path is proposed.
Weighted extremal metrics on blowups

Abstract:We show that if a compact Kähler manifold admits a weighted extremal metric for the action of a torus, so too does its blowup at a relatively stable point that is fixed by both the torus action and the extremal field. This generalises previous results on extremal metrics by Arezzo--Pacard--Singer and Székelyhidi to many other canonical metrics, including extremal Sasaki metrics, deformations of Kähler--Ricci solitons and $\mu$-cscK metrics. In a sequel to this paper, we use this result to study the weighted K-stability of weighted extremal manifolds.

Abstract:In the category of metrics with conical singularities along a smooth divisor with angle in (0, 2 pi), we show that locally defined weak solutions (C-1,C-1 solutions) to the Kahler-Einstein equations actually possess maximum regularity, which means the metrics arc actually Wilder continuous in the singular polar coordinates. This shows the weak Kahler-Einstein metrics constructed by Guenancia-Paun, and independently by Yao, are all actually strong-conical Kahler-Einstein metrics. The key step is to establish a Liouville-type theorem for weak-conical Kahler-Ricci flat metrics defined over C-n, which depends on a Calderon-Zygmund theory in the conical setting. The regularity of globally defined weak-conical Kahler-Einstein metrics is already proved by Guenancia-Paun using a different method.

Abstract:1 In our preparing of [Gu6], we find that the proof of the existence for Kahler metrics of constant scalar curvature on almost homogeneous manifolds with two ends and reductive automorphism group in [Hwl] is not complete.For example, the Theorem 3 there follows from his Theorem 2, but in the case of Theorem 2 the base manifold is a product of manifolds with 62 = 1.Therefore, the proof of his Theorem 4 can come from neither his Theorem 3 nor his Theorem 2. Neither the proof of existence of extremal metrics on almost homogeneous manifolds of cohomogeneity one is true-as we see in this paper.Also, there should be nonnegative conditions of the Ricci curvatures in the Theorem 2 and Corollary 2 in [Gu3], the "B" in the (3) of [Gu3 p.374] should be "B and r".Although the proof there actually works for the case in which the traces r-7 of r on the eigenspaces of B are constants with at most one negative W which corresponds to an eigenvalue bj of B such that there is no other eigenvalue of B between bj and zero, e.g., B = kgt, gt have constant scalar curvatures.

Abstract:Motivated by the notion of multiplier Hermitian-Einstein metric of type $\sigma$ introduced by Mabuchi, we introduce the notion of $\sigma$-extremal Kähler metrics on compact Kähler manifolds, which generalizes Calabi's extremal Kähler metrics. We characterize the existence of this metric in terms of the coercivity of a certain functional on the space of Kähler metrics to show that, on a Fano manifold, the existence of a multiplier Hermitian-Einstein metric of type $\sigma$ implies the existence of a $\sigma$-extremal Kähler metric.
