Abstract:In this paper, we generalize ordinary derivation and Jordan derivation of a ring to the concepts of P-derivation and P-Jordan derivation of a ring respectively. Some properties, e.g. the composition of P-derivations and P-Jordan derivations, are given. Moreover, it proved that if R/P(R) is 2-torsion free for a ring R and its prime radical P(R), P-Jordan derivations of R are P-derivations. More mainly, some conclusions on the commutativity of R/I and R/P(R) are obtained via P-derivations and P-Jordan derivations, for a prime ideal I of R.

Abstract:In this article, we study some idempotent-structures as cP -Baer rings and I -prime rings. Moreover, we define cP -Baer *-rings and I -*-prime *-rings as involutive versions of cP -Baer rings and I -prime rings and expose their properties. Furthermore, the relation between these rings and those without involution are indicated. Finally, some extensions for cP -Baer *-rings are given, for instance the polynomial ring R[x] is a cP -Baer *-ring if and only if R is a cP -Baer *-ring.

Abstract:The primary motivation for this work is to develop the concept of Marshall's quotient applicable to non-commutative multi-rings endowed with involution, expanding upon the main ideas of the classical case—commutative and without involution—presented in Marshall's seminal paper. We define two multiplicative properties to address the involutive case and characterize their Marshall quotient. Moreover, this article presents various cases demonstrating that the "multi" version of rings with involution offers many examples, applications, and relatives in (multi)algebraic structures. Therefore, we established the first steps toward the development of an expansion of real algebra and real algebraic geometry to a non-commutative and involutive setting.

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to enhance the previous studies regarding the behavior of a quotient ring I/℘, where ℘ is a prime ideal in a ring I. In particular, we are going to explore more general scenarios whenever a ring I admits a generalized (α,β)-derivation associated with an (α,β)-derivation ∂ that satisfies certain criteria involving ℘, where α and β are automorphisms on I. Moreover, we provide some examples to demonstrate the importance of the assumptions made in our results.

Abstract:We study the non-uniqueness of factorizations of non zero-divisors into atoms (irreducibles) in noncommutative rings. To do so, we extend concepts from the commutative theory of non-unique factorizations to a noncommutative setting. Several notions of factorizations as well as distances between them are introduced. In addition, arithmetical invariants characterizing the non-uniqueness of factorizations such as the catenary degree, the $\omega$-invariant, and the tame degree, are extended from commutative to noncommutative settings. We introduce the concept of a cancellative semigroup being permutably factorial, and characterize this property by means of corresponding catenary and tame degrees. Also, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for there to be a weak transfer homomorphism from a cancellative semigroup to its reduced abelianization. Applying the abstract machinery we develop, we determine various catenary degrees for classical maximal orders in central simple algebras over global fields by using a natural transfer homomorphism to a monoid of zero-sum sequences over a ray class group. We also determine catenary degrees and the permutable tame degree for the semigroup of non zero-divisors of the ring of $n \times n$ upper triangular matrices over a commutative domain using a weak transfer homomorphism to a commutative semigroup.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the notion of functional prime ideals in a commutative ring. For a (left) R -module M and a functional φ (i.e., an R -linear map φ from M to R ), an ideal I of R is said to be a φ -prime ideal if whenever a∈R and m∈M such that aφ(m)∈I , then a∈I or φ(m)∈I . This notion shows its ability to characterize different classes of ideals in terms of functional primeness with respect to specific R -modules. For instance, if the module M is the ideal I itself, then I is φ -prime for every φ∈HomR(I,R) if and only if I is a trace ideal, and if the module M is the dual of I , then I is φ -prime for every φ∈HomR(I−1,R) if and only if I is a prime ideal of R , or I is a strongly divisorial ideal. Several results are obtained and examples to illustrate the aims and scopes are provided.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a prime ring with center $Z(R)$ and with involution $*$. Given an additive subgroup $A$ of $R$, let $T(A):=\{x+x^*\mid x\in A\}$ and $K_0(A):=\{x-x^*\mid x\in A\}$. Let $L$ be a non-abelian Lie ideal of $R$. It is proved that if $d$ is a nonzero derivation of $R$ satisfying $d(T(L))=0$ (resp. $d(K_0(L))=0$), then $T(R)^2\subseteq Z(R)$ (resp. $K_0(R)^2\subseteq Z(R)$). These results are applied to the study of $d(T(M))=0$ and $d(K_0(M))=0$ for noncentral $*$-subrings $M$ of a division ring $R$ such that $M$ is invariant under all inner automorphisms of $R$, and for noncentral additive subgroups $M$ of a prime ring $R$ containing a nontrivial idempotent such that $M$ is invariant under all special inner automorphisms of $R$. The obtained results generalize some main theorems in recent three papers due to M. Chacron.

Abstract:$\DeclareMathOperator{\Int}{Int}\DeclareMathOperator{\IntR}{Int{}^\text{R}}$For a domain $D$, the ring $\Int(D)$ of integer-valued polynomials over $D$ is atomic if $D$ satisfies the ascending chain condition on principal ideals. However, even for a discrete valuation domain $V$, the ring $\IntR(V)$ of integer-valued rational functions over $V$ is antimatter. We introduce a family of atomic rings of integer-valued rational functions and study various factorization properties on these rings.

Abstract:Let m , n be the fixed positive integers and let R be a ring. In 1978, Herstein proved that a 2-torsion free prime ring R is commutative if there is a nonzero derivation d of R such that [ d ⁢ ( ρ ) , d ⁢ ( ξ ) ] = 0 for all ρ , ξ ∈ R . In this article, we study the above mentioned classical result for higher derivations and describe the structure of semiprime rings by using the invariance property of prime ideals under higher derivations. Precisely, apart from proving some other important results, we prove the following. Let ( d i ) i ∈ N and ( g j ) j ∈ N be two higher derivations of semiprime ring R such that [ d n ⁢ ( ρ ) , g m ⁢ ( ξ ) ] ∈ Z ⁢ ( R ) for all ρ , ξ ∈ I , where I is an ideal of R . Then either R is commutative or some linear combination of ( d i ) i ∈ N sends Z ⁢ ( R ) to zero or some linear combination of ( g j ) j ∈ N sends Z ⁢ ( R ) to zero. We enrich our results with examples that show the necessity of their assumptions. Finally, we conclude our paper with a direction for further research.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a regular scheme over $\textrm{Spec}(\mathbb{Z}[1/p])$ where $p$ is prime. Let $i:Y\to X$ be a closed subscheme of pure codimension $r$. Let $n$ be a natural number prime to $p$. Let $\Lambda$ be a finite $\mathbb{Z}/n$-module over $X$. In this case, the absolute purity conjectured by Grothendieck and proved by Gabber states that \[ Ri^! \Lambda\cong \Lambda_Y(-r)[-2r]\in D_{\textrm{ét}}(Y,\Lambda) \] For the $n=p^m$-case, a dualizing sheaf was proposed by Milne \cite{MilneValuesOfZeta}, namely the logarithmic de Rham-Witt sheaves $\nu_m(r)$. But this doesn't work for all degrees for the étale cohomology. It is however conjectured that this works for the tame cohomology. In this paper we make this work following the proof of Milne in loc. cit. by replacing étale by tame cohomology and assuming resolution of singularities in positive characteristic. We obtain the following isomorphism \[ Ri^! \nu_m(n)\cong \nu_m(n-r)[-r]. \]

Abstract:Suppose that K is a field, S=K[x1,...,xn] or S=K[[x1,...,xn]] . We present a characterization of those monomial ideals I of S , for which S / I is a half-factorial ring. This characterization is related to the structure of the base field K and also depends on the combinatorics of a graph constructed from the monomial ideal I . We also show that if R[x] or R[[x]] is half-factorial for an arbitrary commutative ring R , then R is an integral domain.

Rigid Dualizing Complexes over Commutative Rings and their Functorial Properties

Abstract:In this paper we treat Grothendieck Duality for noetherian rings via rigid dualizing complexes. In particular, we prove that every ring, essentially finite type over a regular base ring, has a unique rigid dualizing complex. The rigid dualizing complexes have strong functorial properties, allowing us to construct the twisted induction pseudofunctor, which is our ring-theoretic version of the twisted inverse pseudofunctor $f^{!}$. This is the first article of a bigger project, whose final goal is establishing Grothendieck Duality, including global duality for proper maps, for Deligne-Mumford stacks.

Abstract:This paper deals with the rings which satisfy DCC d condition. This notion has been introduced recently by R. Dastanpour and A. Ghorbani (2017) as a generalization of Artnian rings. It is of interest to investigate more deeply this class of rings. This study focuses on commutative case. In this vein, we present this work in which we examine the transfer of these rings to the trivial, amalgamation and polynomial ring extensions. We also investigate the relationship between this class of rings and the well known ones. Furthermore, many new results are presented in the scope of this paper. For example, there is one which concerns the decomposition of ideals on prime ones and another which investigate the Krull dimension of the ring satisfying DCC d condition. At the end of this work, we provide a result which concerns the modules over such rings.

Abstract:An ideal in a polynomial ring encodes a system of linear partial differential equations with constant coefficients. Primary decomposition organizes the solutions to the PDE. This paper develops a novel structure theory for primary ideals in a polynomial ring. We characterize primary ideals in terms of PDE, punctual Hilbert schemes, relative Weyl algebras, and the join construction. Solving the PDE described by a primary ideal amounts to computing Noetherian operators in the sense of Ehrenpreis and Palamodov. We develop new algorithms for this task, and we present efficient implementations.

Abstract:We study some factorization properties of the idealization $R \mathop{(\! + \! )} M$ of a module $M$ in a commutative ring $R$ which is not necessarily a domain. We show that $R \mathop{(\! + \! )} M$ is ACCP if and only if $R$ is ACCP and $M$ satisfies ACC on its cyclic submodules. We give an example to show that the BF property is not necessarily preserved in idealization, and give some conditions under which $R \mathop{(\! + \! )} M$ is a BFR. We also characterize the idealization rings which are UFRs.
