Abstract:The present study offers a general exponential operator connected with a^2+x^2; for positive real "a". We estimate the asymptotic formula for simultaneous and ordinary approximation of the constructed operator. In the last section, we graphically interpret the created operator's convergence to two periodic functions "x sin(x)" and "-x/2*cos(pi*x)". We also consider the limiting case a tends to 0; which provides Post-Widder operator. In addition, we analyze each particular case of the defined operator and determine the optimal value of "a", that would yield the greatest approximation; this facilitates us to contrast the well-known operators existing in the literature, especially the Post-Widder operator and the operator due to Ismail-May.
Functional Analysis
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper primarily investigates a novel exponential operator associated with \(a^2+x^2\), where \(a\) is a positive real number. The authors estimate the asymptotic formulas of the constructed operator for both synchronous approximation and ordinary approximation, and illustrate the convergence of this operator to two periodic functions, "x\sin(x)" and "-\(x^2\cos(\pi x)\)", through graphical interpretations. The paper also analyzes the case when \(a\) approaches 0, namely the Post-Widder operator. Additionally, the paper considers specific cases of the operator and determines the optimal parameter \(a\) for maximal approximation, in order to compare it with other known operators, particularly the Post-Widder operator and the Ismail-May operator. The paper presents the form of the operator and some auxiliary results, including the expression of moment generating function and the proof related to the Ismail-May method. The authors also prove that the new operator converges to the Post-Widder operator as \(a\) approaches 0, and demonstrate the convergence behavior of the operator under different parameters \(a\). Finally, the paper discusses the graphical comparison of the operator for different functions, such as \(x\sin(x)\) and \(-x^2\cos(\pi x)\), showing how they approach the target function as the parameter varies. Based on these analyses, the paper concludes that the newly defined operator can effectively approximate the given periodic function when the parameter is appropriately chosen, and its behavior is similar to the Post-Widder operator when \(a\) approaches 0, but in some cases, it may provide better approximation.
