Abstract:In this article, we study the asymptotics of the positive solutions of the Euler–Lagrange system of the weighted Hardy–Littlewood–Sobolev in R n [ u(x) = 1/|x|^α∫_R^nv(y)^q/|y|^β|x-y|^λ dy,; v(x) = 1/|x|^β∫_R^nu(y)^p/|y|^α|x-y|^λ dy. ] A new iterative method is introduced to obtain the optimal weighted local integrability of u ( x ). By this new method, we establish the asymptotic estimates of the solutions around the origin and near infinity. With these new estimates, we complete the study of the asymptotic behavior of the solutions. We believe this new iterative method and the new type of the weighted local estimates can be used in many other cases.

Abstract:The asymptotic behavior of solutions to the second order elliptic equations in exterior domains is studied. In particular, under the assumption that the solution belongs to the Lorentz space $L^{p,q}$ or the weak Lebesgue space $L^{p,\infty}$ with certain conditions on the coefficients, we give natural and an almost sharp pointwise estimate of the solution at spacial infinity. The proof is based on the argument by Korobkov--Pileckas--Russo [4], in which the decay property of the solution to the vorticity equation of the two-dimensional Navier--Stokes equations was studied.

Abstract:We are interested in the following semilinear elliptic problem: where is an annulus in , , is Sobolev-subcritical, searching for conditions (about c , N and p ) for the existence of positive radial solutions. We analyze the asymptotic behavior of c as and to get the existence, non-existence and multiplicity of normalized solutions. Additionally, based on the properties of these solutions, we extend the results obtained in Pierotti et al. in Calc Var Partial Differ Equ 56:1–27, 2017. In contrast of the earlier results, a positive radial solution with arbitrarily large mass can be obtained when or if and . Our paper also includes the demonstration of orbital stability/instability results.

Abstract:This paper discusses the existence of positive radial symmetric solutions of the nonlinear biharmonic equation ▵2u=f(u,▵u) on an annular domain Ω in RN with the Navier boundary conditions u|∂Ω=0 and ▵u|∂Ω=0, where f:R+×R−→R+ is a continuous function. We present some some inequality conditions of f to obtain the existence results of positive radial symmetric solutions. These inequality conditions allow f(ξ,η) to have superlinear or sublinear growth on ξ,η as |(ξ,η)|→0 and ∞. Our discussion is mainly based on the fixed-point index theory in cones.

Abstract:We study an asymptotic behavior of solutions to elliptic equations of the second order in a two dimensional exterior domain. Under the assumption that the solution belongs to $L^q$ with $q \in [2,\infty )$, we prove a pointwise asymptotic estimate of the solution at the spatial infinity in terms of the behavior of the coefficients. As a corollary, we obtain the Liouville-type theorem in the case when the coefficients may grow at the spacial infinity. We also study a corresponding parabolic problem in the n-dimensional whole space and discuss the energy identity for solutions in $L^q$. As a corollary we show also the Liouville-type theorem for both forward and ancient solutions.

Abstract:Our main task in this note is to prove the existence and to classify the exact growth at infinity of radial positive $C^6$-solutions of $(-\Delta )^3 u = u^p$ in $\mathbf{R}^n$, where $n\geqslant 15$ and $p$ is bounded from below by the sixth-order Joseph-Lundgren exponent. Following the main work of Winkler, we introduce the sub- and super-solution method and comparision principle to conclude the asymptotic behavior of solutions.

Abstract:We systematically inquire positive radial solutions of the quasilinear elliptic equation -Δ _pϕ =|x|^σϕ ^q with Δ _pϕ :=div(|∇ϕ |^p-2∇ϕ ) is the p -Laplace operator, q>p-1,σ >-p and 1<p<N . It is known that the radial solutions of this equation can be classified into three different types: the M-solutions (singular at r=0 ), the E-solutions (regular at r=0 ) and the F-solutions (whose existence begins away from r=0 ). For these radial solutions, we find a substitution which can transfer this equation into an autonomous Lotka–Volterra system, such that the F-, E- and M-solutions can be comprehensively characterized. In particular, the M-solution has extremely plentiful properties, and its asymptotic expansions are more complicated. For the subcritical case of q , by virtue of a priori estimates, we employ an iterative method which can improve the accuracy step by step, to derive their precise asymptotic expansions. For the supercritical case of q , with the help of the autonomous Lotka–Volterra system and an inverse transformation, we obtain the asymptotic expansions of the M-solutions near the origin. In the same manner, we could acquire more accurate asymptotic expansions of the E-solutions via the iterative method whereas the F-solutions can be described by the autonomous Lotka–Volterra system.

Abstract:Based on a parabolic flow, we study the existence of radial solutions with a prescribed number of nodes to an asymptotically linear elliptic problem. Moreover, for the problem defined on the unit ball, we establish a nonexistence result concerning the solutions with more than the prescribed number of nodes, see Assertion (2) of Theorem 1.3. This is a significant difference from the problem defined on the whole space since the latter admits solution with an arbitrarily large number of nodes. This is proved in Theorem 1.1.

Abstract:Let $A_1$ and $A_2$ be two circular annuli and let $\rho$ be a radial metric defined in the annuli $A_2$. We study the existence and uniqueness of the extremal problem for weighted combined energy between $A_1$ and $A_2$, and obtain that the extremal mapping is a certain radial mapping. In fact, this extremal mapping generalizes the $\rho-$harmonic mapping and satisfies equation (2.7) obtained by mean of variation for weighted combined energy. Meanwhile, we get a $\rho-$Nitsche type inequality. This extends the results of Kalaj (J. Differential Equations, 268(2020)) and YTF (Arch. Math., 122(2024)), where they considered the case $\rho=1$ and $\rho=\frac{1}{|h|^{2}}$, respectively. Moreover, in the course of proving the extremal problem for weighted combined energy we also investigate the extremal problem for the weighted combined distortion (see Theorem 4.1). This extends the result obtained by Kalaj (J. London Math. Soc., 93(2016)).

Abstract:We study a system of elliptic equations that involves strongly coupled attractive Hardy terms and critical nonlinearities. The existence of radial decreasing solutions to the system is proved and the asymptotic properties at the origin and infinity of radial decreasing solutions are described completely. It is found that two components in the radial decreasing solutions are asymptotically synchronized at the origin and infinity. The conclusions are new and significantly improve those in Kang, et al. (2020) [16].

Abstract:This paper is the first in a forthcoming series of works where the authors study the global asymptotic behavior of the radial solutions of the 2D periodic Toda equation of type $A_n$. The principal issue is the connection formulae between the asymptotic parameters describing the behavior of the general solution at zero and infinity. To reach this goal we are using a fusion of the PDE analysis and the Riemann-Hilbert nonlinear steepest descent method of Deift and Zhou which is applicable to 2D Toda in view of its Lax integrability. A principal technical challenge is the extension of the nonlinear steepest descent analysis to Riemann-Hilbert problems of matrix rank greater than $2$. In this paper, we meet this challenge for the case $n=2$ (the rank $3$ case) and it already captures the principal features of the general $n$ case.

Abstract:We present the sharp characterization of the behavior at the isolated singularities of positive solutions of some equations on singular manifolds with conical metrics. It is seen that the equations on singular manifolds with conical metrics are equivalent to weighted elliptic equations in B\{0}, where B subset of R-N is the unit ball. The weights can be singular at x = 0. We present the sharp asymptotic behavior of positive solutions of the weighted elliptic equations at x = 0 and establish expansions of these solutions up to arbitrary orders. Asymptotic behavior at the isolated singularitie of positive solutions of elliptic equations without weights has been studied by many authors. We will obtain new results on the asymptotic behavior at the isolated singularities even for positive solutions of equations without weights in the subcritical case.

Abstract:Consider a solution to a second-order pseudo-parabolic equation with sufficiently smooth time-independent coefficients in a cylindrical domain. If it vanishes on the cylindrical surface for all times and if its restriction to a fixed instant belongs toC2+a, then its pointwise values decay exponentially as t→∞ while its Dirichlet norm grows expontially as t→−∞. Similar conclusion still hold for solutions to non-homogeneous equations under non-homogeneous boundary conditions provided the free term and the boundary data posses these asymptotic behaviors.

Abstract:We study fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic equations having a singular reaction term with inverse quadratic potential and an absorbing superlinear term of p-power type. We consider equations posed in punctured balls centered at the origin, and we prove that all radial solutions are singular around the origin, by providing a complete classification in dependence of p of their asymptotic behavior near the singularity.

Abstract:In this paper we study existence, nonexistence and classification of radial positive solutions of some weighted fully nonlinear equations involving Pucci extremal operators. Our results are entirely based on the analysis of the dynamics induced by an autonomous quadratic system which is obtained after a suitable transformation. This method allows to treat both regular and singular solutions in a unified way, without using energy arguments. In particular we recover known results on regular solutions for the fully nonlinear non weighted problem by alternative proofs. We also slightly improve the classification of the solutions for the extremal operator <math> M − . </math>

Abstract:We consider the bifurcation diagram of radial solutions for the Gelfand problem with a positive radially symmetric weight in the unit ball. We deal with the exponential nonlinearity and a power-type nonlinearity. When the weight is constant, it is well-known that the bifurcation curve exhibits three different types depending on the dimension and the exponent of power for higher dimensions, while the curve exhibits only one type in two dimensions. In this paper, we succeed in realizing in two dimensions a phenomenon such that the bifurcation curve exhibits all of the three types, by choosing the weight appropriately. In particular, to the best of the author's knowledge, it is the first result to establish in two dimensions the bifurcation curve having no turning points.
