Abstract:We show the local-global compatibility of each local Plancherel measure and the Tamagawa measure under the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence of GL(n). We prove that the global Jacquet-Langlands correspondence preserves von Neumann dimensions over arithmetic groups.

Abstract:We propose a global Jacquet-Langlands correspondence for the modules over the von Neumann algebras of $S$-arithmetic subgroups of $\rm{GL}(2)$ and of a quaternion algebra $D$, which are both defined over a totally real number field $F$. If a representation $\pi'=\otimes\pi'_v$ of $D^{\times}(\mathbb{A}_F)$ corresponds to a representation $\pi=\otimes \pi_v$ of $\rm{GL}(2,\mathbb{A}_F)$, we have $\frac{\dim_{\mathcal{L}(\rm{SL}(2,\mathcal{O}_S))}\pi_S}{\dim_{\mathbb{C}}\pi'_S}=|\frac{\zeta_{D}(0)}{\zeta_{F}(0)}|$, where $\zeta_F,\zeta_{D}$ are the zeta functions of $F,D$ respectively.

Abstract:In this two-part series of articles, we present a new proof comparing the trace formula for a general linear group with that of one of its inner forms. Our methodology relies on the trace formula for Lie algebras, incorporating the notion of non-invariant transfer of test functions. In the appendix A, we provide a description of conjugacy classes of an inner form of a general linear group. In the appendix B, we provide explicit computations of Haar measures. This article focuses on the geometric side of the trace formula.

Abstract:We show how the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the quintic three-fold can be cast into a global mirror symmetry framework. Then we draw inspiration from Berglund-H\"ubsch mirror duality construction to provide an analogue conjectural picture featuring all Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces within weighted projective spaces and certain quotients by finite abelian group actions.
Plancherel Measures of Reductive Adelic Groups and Von Neumann Dimensions

Abstract:Given a number field $F$ and a reductive group $G$ over $F$, the unitary dual $\hat{G(\mathbb{A}_F)}$ of the adelic group $G(\mathbb{A}_F)$ and the Placherel measure $\nu_{G(\mathbb{A}_F)}$ on it can be determined by the Plancherel measure of its local groups $G(F_v)$. Given a subset $X\subset \hat{G(\mathbb{A}_F)}$ of finite Plancherel measure, let $H_X$ be the direct integral of the irreducible representations in $X$. Besides a $G(\mathbb{A}_F)$-module and a $G(F)$-module, $H_X$ is also a module over the group von Neumann algebra $\mathcal{L}(G(F))$, hence there is a canonical dimension $\dim_{\mathcal{L}(G(F))}H_X\in [0,\infty)$. It is proved that the Plancherel measure of $G(\mathbb{A}_F)$ coincides with the dimension over the algebra $\mathcal{L}(G(F))$: $\dim_{\mathcal{L}(G(F))}H_X=\nu_{G(\mathbb{A}_F)}(X)$, if $G$ is semisimple, simply connected and $G(\mathbb{A}_F)$ is equipped with the Tamagawa measure.

Local Jacquet-Langlands correspondence for regular supercuspidal representations

Abstract:We prove that Kaletha's local Langlands correspondence for regular supercuspidal representations gives the classical local Jacquet--Langlands correspondence due to Deligne--Kazhdan--Vigneras and Badulescu. As in a former joint paper with Oi, where a similar result is proved for the local Langlands correspondence for the general linear group, the key ingredients in our proof are the work of Bushnell--Henniart explicitly describing the local Jacquet--Langlands correspondence for essentially tame supercuspidal representations and its reinterpretation due to Tam in terms of Langlands--Shelstad's $\zeta$-data. While, under suitable assumptions, this result follows from more general theorems either in the recent work of Fintzen--Kaletha--Spice or that of Chan--Oi, our proof does not require any assumptions. We also complement a few points on the proof in the former paper with Oi.

Abstract:We relate the field of definition of representations $\sigma$ of the group of units $D^\times$ of a non-archimedean division algebra $D/F$ to that of its L-parameter $\varphi_\sigma\colon W_F\to \mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb C)$, extending results of [Prasad-Ramakrishnan]. The field of definitions are controlled by division algebras $\mathcal D_{\sigma}$ and $\mathcal D_{\varphi_\sigma}$ over the field of rationality $\mathbb Q(\pi)$, and we completely pin down the relationship between the Hasse invariants at places not over $p$. Under some additional assumptions we can also specify the Hasse invariants at places over $p$.

A Jacquet-Langlands functor for $p$-adic locally analytic representations

Abstract:We study the locally analytic theory of infinite level local Shimura varieties. As a main result, we prove that in the case of a duality of local Shimura varieties, the locally analytic vectors of different period sheaves at infinite level are independent of the actions of the $p$-adic Lie groups $G$ and $G_b$ of the two towers; this generalizes a result of Pan for the Lubin-Tate and Drinfeld spaces for $GL_2$. We apply this theory to show that the $p$-adic Jacquet-Langlands functor of Scholze commutes with the passage to locally analytic vectors, and is compatible with central characters of Lie algebras. We also prove that the compactly supported de Rham cohomology of the two towers are isomorphic as smooth representations of $G\times G_b$.

Local Langlands in families: The banal case

Abstract:We state a conjecture, local Langlands in families, connecting the centre of the category of smooth representations on $\mathbb{Z}[\sqrt{q}^{-1}]$-modules of a quasi-split $p$-adic group $\mathrm{G}$ (where $q$ is the cardinality of the residue field of the underlying local field), the ring of global functions on the stack of Langlands parameters for $\mathrm{G}$ over $\mathbb{Z}[\sqrt{q}^{-1}]$, and the endomorphisms of a Gelfand-Graev representation for $\mathrm{G}$. For a class of classical $p$-adic groups (symplectic, unitary, or split odd special orthogonal groups), we prove this conjecture after inverting an integer depending only on $\mathrm{G}$. Along the way, we show that the local Langlands correspondence for classical $p$-adic groups (1) preserves integrality of $\ell$-adic representations; (2) satisfies an "extended" (generic) packet conjecture; (3) is compatible with parabolic induction up to semisimplification (generalizing a result of Moussaoui), hence induces a semisimple local Langlands correspondence; and (4) the semisimple correspondence is compatible with automorphisms of $\mathbb{C}$ fixing $\sqrt{q}$.

Abstract:A brief survey is given of the classical Langlands correspondence between n-dimensional representations of Galois groups of local and global fields of dimension 1 and irreducible representations of the groups GL(n). A generalization of the Langlands program to fields of dimension 2 is considered and the corresponding version for 1-dimensional representations is described. We formulate a conjecture on a direct image (=automorphic induction) of automorphic forms which links the Langlands correspondences in dimension 2 and 1. The direct image conjecture implies the classical Hasse-Weil conjecture on the analytical behaviour of the L-functions of curves defined over global fields of dimension 1.

Abstract:We propose a generalization of the Green-Griffiths-Lang conjecture to the relative setting and prove that a strong form of it holds for families of varieties of maximal Albanese dimension. A key step of the proof consists in a truncated second main theorem type estimate in Nevanlinna theory for families of abelian varieties.

Abstract:Given a connected semisimple Lie group $G$ and an arithmetic subgroup $\Gamma$, it is well-known that each irreducible representation $\pi$ of $G$ occurs in the discrete spectrum $L^2_{\text{disc}}(\Gamma\backslash G)$ of $L^2(\Gamma\backslash G)$ with at most a finite multiplicity $m_{\Gamma}(\pi)$. While $m_{\Gamma}(\pi)$ is unknown in general, we are interested in its limit as $\Gamma$ is taken to be in a tower of lattices $\Gamma_1\supset \Gamma_2\supset\dots$. For a bounded measurable subset $X$ of the unitary dual $\widehat{G}$, we let $m_{\Gamma_n}(X)$ be the sum of the multiplicity $m_{\Gamma_n}(\pi)$ of a representation $\pi$ over all $\pi$ in $X$. Let $H_X$ be the direct integral of the irreducible representations in $X$, which is also a module over the group von Neumann algebra $\mathcal{L}\Gamma_n$. Abstract:We study conjectures of Ben-Zvi--Sakellaridis--Venkatesh that categorify the relationship between automorphic periods and $L$-functions in the context of the Geometric Langlands equivalence. We provide evidence for these conjectures in some low-rank examples, by using derived Fourier analysis and the theory of chiral algebras to categorify the Rankin-Selberg unfolding method.

Abstract:A simply laced Dynkin diagram gives rise to a family of curves over $\mathbb{Q}$ and a coregular representation, using deformations of simple singularities and Vinberg theory respectively. Thorne has conjectured and partially proven a strong link between the arithmetic of these curves and the rational orbits of these representations. In this paper, we complete Thorne's picture and show that $2$-Selmer elements of the Jacobians of the smooth curves in each family can be parametrised by integral orbits of the corresponding representation. Using geometry-of-numbers techniques, we deduce statistical results on the arithmetic of these curves. We prove these results in a uniform manner. This recovers and generalises results of Bhargava, Gross, Ho, Shankar, Shankar and Wang. The main innovations are: an analysis of torsors on affine spaces using results of Colliot-Thélène and the Grothendieck--Serre conjecture, a study of geometric properties of compactified Jacobians using the Bialynicki-Birula decomposition, and a general construction of integral orbit representatives.

Abstract:We study the action of the quantum group $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}_n})$ on the equivariant K-theory of affine Laumon spaces. We show that, at any highest weight away from the critical level, this can be identified with the contragredient dual Verma module of $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}_n})$, improving earlier results of Braverman-Finkelberg and Negu{ţ}. The proof uses a variant of stable envelopes first introduce by Maulik-Okounkov in the study of Nakajima quiver varieties.

Abstract:In this article, we study the adjoint Selmer group of a modular form that admits a Jacquet-Langlands transfer to a modular form on a definite quaternion algebra. We show that this Selmer group has length given by the valuation of the Petersson norm of the quaternionic modular form. Our proof is based on an Euler system argument first used by Flach in his study for the adjoint Selmer group of an elliptic curve by producing elements in the motivic cohomology of the product of two Shimura curves. However our construction does not involve Siegel modular units which make it more adaptable to study adjoint motives coming from products of higher dimensional Shimura varieties.

Abstract:Let G be a connected reductive group over a non-archimedean local field. We say that an irreducible depth-zero (complex) G-representation is non-singular if its cuspidal support is non-singular. We establish a Local Langlands Correspondence for all such representations. We obtain it as a specialization from a categorical version: an equivalence between the category of finite-length non-singular depth-zero G-representations and the category of finite-length right modules of a direct sum of twisted affine Hecke algebras constructed from Langlands parameters. We also show that our LLC and our equivalence of categories have several nice properties, for example compatibility with parabolic induction.

Abstract:In this paper, we deduce explicit multiplicity formulas of the Fourier-Jacobi model for Deligne-Lusztig characters of finite symplectic groups, unitary groups, and general linear groups. We then apply these results to deduce the explicit depth zero local descent (à la Soudry and Tanay) for $p$-adic unitary groups. The result is a concrete example in the context of non-tempered Gan-Gross-Prasad program.

Abstract: We prove the geometric Bombieri-Lang conjecture for projective varieties which have finite morphisms to abelian varieties over function fields of characteristic 0. Our proof is complex analytic, which applies the classical Brody lemma to construct entire curves on complex varieties. Our key ingredients includes a new notion of partial height and its non-degeneracy in a suitable sense. The non-degeneracy is required in the application of the Brody lemma.

Abstract:The Glauberman correspondence and its generalisation, the Dade--Glauberman--Nagao (DGN) correspondence, plays an importantly role in the study of the so-called local--global counting conjectures and their reductions to (quasi-)simple groups. These reduction theorems require an additional set of compatibility conditions for the DGN correspondence. In this paper, we proved that there exists a bijection of irreducible Brauer characters above the DGN correspondence that is equivariant with Galois automorphisms action and group automorphisms action and preserves vertices. In the proof we use the tools of $\hH$-triples introduced by Navarro--Späth--Vallejo. The results of this paper lead to a reduction theorem of the Galois Alperin weight conjecture.
