Abstract:Lie's third theorem does not hold for Lie groupoids and Lie algebroids. In this article, we show that Lie's third theorem is valid within a specific class of diffeological groupoids that we call `singular Lie groupoids.' To achieve this, we introduce a subcategory of diffeological spaces which we call `quasi-etale.' Singular Lie groupoids are precisely the groupoid objects within this category, where the unit space is a manifold. Our approach involves the construction of a functor that maps singular Lie groupoids to Lie algebroids, extending the classical functor from Lie groupoids to Lie algebroids. We prove that the Ševera-Weinstein groupoid of an algebroid is an example of a singular Lie groupoid, thereby establishing Lie's third theorem in this context.

Abstract:We study geometric representation theory of Lie algebroids. A new equivalence relation for integrable Lie algebroids is introduced and investigated. It is shown that two equivalent Lie algebroids have equivalent categories of infinitesimal actions of Lie algebroids. As an application, it is also shown that the Hamiltonian categories for gauge equivalent Dirac structures are equivalent as categories.

Abstract:A Lie algebroid is a generalization of Lie algebra that provides a general framework to describe the symmetries of a manifold. In this paper, we introduce Lie algebroid index theory and study the Lie algebroid Dolbeault operator. We also introduce Connes' index theory on regular foliated manifolds to obtain a generalized Riemann-Roch theorem on manifolds with regular foliation. We show that the topological side of Connes' index theory can be identified with the topological side of Lie algebroid index theory. Finally, we introduce Lie algebroid Kodaira vanishing theorem, and provide some applications and examples. The Lie algebroid Kodaira vanishing theorem can be used on the analytic side of Connes' theorem to attest to the criterion of a positive line bundle from its topological information.

Abstract:Abelian groups having partial orderings compatible with their binary operations have long been studied in the literature. In particular, lattice-ordered abelian groups constitute a universal-algebraic variety, and thus form a category which is monadic over the category of sets. The current paper studies the more general case of quasi-ordered abelian groups, identifying some of their more fundamental properties and their relationships to partially ordered and lattice-ordered groups. We reinterpret the category of quasi-ordered abelian groups with order preserving morphisms by examining the interplay between the group and the set of all positive elements under the quasi-ordering. The main result shows that the category of quasi-ordered abelian groups is monadic over the category of set monomorphisms.

Abstract:We consider Lie algebroids over an algebraic space (or topological ringed space) as quasicoherent sheaves of Lie-Rinehart algebras. We express hypercohomology for a locally free Lie algebroid (not necessarily of finite rank) as a derived functor, and simplify it via Čech cohomology. Furthermore, we define the Hochschild hypercohomology of a sheaf of generalized bialgebras and study the cases of the universal enveloping algebroid and the jet algebroid of a Lie algebroid. In the sequel, we present a version of Hochschild-Kostant-Rosenberg theorem for a locally free Lie algebroid, as well as its dual version.

Abstract:Groupoids provide a more appropriate framework for differential geometry than principal bundles. Synthetic differential geometry is the avant-garde branch of differential geometry, in which nilpotent infinitesimals are available in abundance. The principal objective in this paper is to show within our favorite framework of synthetic differential geometry that the tangent space of the group of bisections of a microlinear groupoid at its identity is naturally a Lie algebra. We give essentially distinct two proofs for its Jacobi identity.

Abstract:Motivated by our attempt to understand characteristic classes of Lie groupoids and geometric structures, we are brought back to the fundamentals of the cohomology theories of Lie groupoids and algebroids. One element that was missing in the literature was the notion of relative cohomology in this setting. The main aim of this paper is to develop the structural theory of this notion, the relation between the relative cohomology of groupoids and that of algebroids via van Est maps, and to indicate how it can be used to provide an intrinsic definition of characteristic classes.

Abstract:We investigate the deformation of an $L_\infty$ structure that encodes the geometric information about a smooth vector bundle. We establish that this specific type of deformation endows the bundle with a Lie algebroid structure. Additionally, we compute the Atiyah class and Atiyah-Chern classes in the geometrically deformed case. The precise relationship between the first Atiyah-Chern class and the modular class is shown. In the case of action Lie algebroids, the Atiyah-Chern classes at the leading order are given by the equivariant Chern characters.

Globally, for any transitive Poisson groupoid (Γ,Π), the Poisson structure has the form Π=Λ←−Λ→+ΠF, where ΠF is a bivector field on Γ associated to a Lie groupoid 1-cocycle.

Abstract:There are two natural analogues of algebraic foliations in derived algebraic geometry, called partition Lie algebroids and infinitesimal derived foliations, and both make sense in general characteristics. We construct an equivalence between these two notions under some finiteness conditions. Our method is refining the PD Koszul duality in \cite{BM}\cite{BCN} using the (completed) Hodge filtration.

Abstract:For a transitive Lie algebroid A on a connected manifold M and its a representation on a vector bundle F, we study the localization map Y^1: H^1(A,F)-> H^1(L_x,F_x), where L_x is the adjoint algebra at x in M. The main result in this paper is that: Ker Y^1_x=Ker(p^{1*})=H^1_{deR}(M,F_0). Here p^{1*} is the lift of H^1(\huaA,F) to its counterpart over the universal covering space of M and H^1_{deR}(M,F_0) is the F_0=H^0(L,F)-coefficient deRham cohomology. We apply these results to study the associated vector bundles to principal fiber bundles and the structure of transitive Lie bialgebroids.

Abstract:Omni-Lie algebroids are generalizations of Alan Weinstein's omni-Lie algebras. A Dirac structure in an omni-Lie algebroid 𝔇E ⊕ 𝔍E is necessarily a Lie algebroid together with a representation on E. We study the geometry underlying these Dirac structures in the light of reduction theory. In particular, we prove that there is a one-to-one correspondence between reducible Dirac structures and projective Lie algebroids in [Formula: see text]; we establish the relation between the normalizer NL of a reducible Dirac structure L and the derivation algebra Der (b (L)) of the projective Lie algebroid b(L); we study the cohomology group H •(L, ρL) and the relation between NL and H 1(L, ρL); we describe Lie bialgebroids using the adjoint representation; we study the deformation of a Dirac structure L, which is related with H 2(L, ρL).
Invariant Geometric Structures on Almost Abelian Lie Groups

Abstract:An almost Abelian group is a non-Abelian Lie group with a codimension 1 Abelian subgroup. This paper investigates invariant Hermitian and Kähler structures on connected complex almost Abelian groups. We find explicit formulas for the left and right Haar measures, the modular function, and left and right generator vector fields on simply connected complex almost Abelian groups. From the generator fields, we obtain invariant vector and tensor field frames, allowing us to find an explicit form for all invariant tensor fields. Namely, all such invariant tensor fields have constant coefficients in the invariant frame. From this, we classify all invariant Hermitian forms on complex simply connected almost Abelian groups, and we prove the nonexistence of invariant Kähler forms on all such groups. Via constructions involving the pullback of the quotient map, we extend the explicit description of invariant Hermitian structures and the nonexistence of Kähler structures to connected almost Abelian groups.

Abstract:We introduce the basic notions and present examples and results on Lie categories -- categories internal to the category of smooth manifolds. Demonstrating how the units of a Lie category $\mathcal C$ dictate the behavior of its invertible morphisms $\mathcal G(\mathcal C)$, we develop sufficient conditions for $\mathcal G(\mathcal C)$ to form a Lie groupoid. We show that the construction of Lie algebroids from the theory of Lie groupoids carries through, and ask when the Lie algebroid of $\mathcal G(\mathcal C)$ is recovered. We reveal that the lack of invertibility assumption on morphisms leads to a natural generalization of rank from linear algebra, develop its general properties, and show how the existence of an extension $\mathcal C\hookrightarrow \mathcal G$ of a Lie category to a Lie groupoid affects the ranks of morphisms and the algebroids of $\mathcal C$. Furthermore, certain completeness results for invariant vector fields on Lie monoids and Lie categories with well-behaved boundaries are obtained. Interpreting the developed framework in the context of physical processes, we yield a rigorous approach to the theory of statistical thermodynamics by observing that entropy change, associated to a physical process, is a functor.

Abstract:Let X be a compact Riemann surface of genus g≥3 . Let L=(L,[.,.],♯) be a holomorphic Lie algebroid over X of rank one and degree (L)<2−2g . We consider the moduli space of holomorphic Lλ -connections over X , where λ∈C . We compute the Picard group of the moduli space of Lλ -connections by constructing an explicit smooth compactification of the moduli space of those Lλ -connections whose underlying vector bundle is stable such that the complement is a smooth divisor. We also show that the automorphism group of the moduli space of Lλ -connections fits into a short exact sequence that involves the automorphism group of the moduli space of stable vector bundle over X . For λ = 1, we get Lie algebroid de Rham moduli space of L -connections and we determine its Chow group. Communicated by Manuel Reyes

Abstract:Affine structures on a Lie groupoid, including affine k-vector fields, k-forms and (p,q)-tensors are studied. We show that the space of affine structures is a 2-vector space over the space of multiplicative structures. Moreover, the space of affine multivector fields has a natural graded strict Lie 2-algebra structure and affine (1,1)-tensors constitute a strict monoidal category. Such higher structures can be seen as the categorification of multiplicative structures on a Lie groupoid.

Abstract:We define involution algebroids which generalise Lie algebroids to the abstract setting of tangent categories. As a part of this generalisation the Jacobi identity which appears in classical Lie theory is replaced by an identity similar to the Yang-Baxter equation. Every classical Lie algebroid has the structure of an involution algebroid and every involution algebroid in a tangent category admits a Lie bracket on the sections of its underlying bundle. As an illustrative application we take the first steps in developing the homotopy theory of involution algebroids.
