Abstract:We introduce the notion of common retraction and coretraction for families of Banach spaces, formulate a framework for identifying interpolation spaces, and apply it to modulation spaces with exponential weights $E^s_{p,q}$. By constructing a required ambient space, we are able to prove embeddings w.r.t. the spatial integrability parameter $p$.

Abstract:Given a matrix-weight $W$ in the Muckenhoupt class $\mathbf{A}_p(\mathbb{R}^n)$, $1\leq p<\infty$, we introduce corresponding vector-valued continuous and discrete $\alpha$-modulation spaces $M^{s,\alpha}_{p,q}(W)$ and $m^{s,\alpha}_{p,q}(W)$ and prove their equivalence through the use of adapted tight frames. Compatible notions of molecules and almost diagonal matrices are also introduced, and an application to the study of pseudo-differential operators on vector valued spaces is given.

Abstract:Abstract.We study localization operators within the framework of ultradistributions. More precisely, given a symbol a and two windows φ1, φ2, we investigate the multilinear mapping from$$\left( {a,\varphi _1 ,\varphi _2 } \right) \in \,\mathcal{S}^{(1)\prime } (\mathbb{R}^{2d} ) \times \mathcal{S}^{(1)} (\mathbb{R}^d ) \times \mathcal{S}^{(1)} (\mathbb{R}^d )$$ to the localization operator$$A_a^{\varphi _1 ,\varphi _2 } .$$ Results are formulated in terms of modulation spaces with weights which may have exponential growth. We give sufficient and necessary conditions for$$A_a^{\varphi _1 ,\varphi _2 } $$ a to be bounded or to belong to a Schatten class. As an application, we study symbols defined by ultra-distributions with compact support, that give trace class localization operators.

Abstract:After defining classical weighted modulation spaces we show some basic properties. In this work we additionally choose an approach in terms of the frequency-uniform decomposition and a discussion on the weights of modulation spaces leads to a definition of Gevrey-modulation spaces, where we leave the Sobolev frame and proceed to the Gevrey frame in order to get better results. We prove that Gevrey-modulation spaces are algebras under multiplication. Moreover, we obtain a non-analytic superposition result which gives rise to discuss the possibility to apply Gevrey-modulation spaces to non-linear partial differential equations.

Abstract:It is shown that the modulation spaces $M_{p}^{w}$ can be characterized by the approximation behavior of their elements using Local Fourier bases. In analogy to the Local Fourier bases, we show that the modulation spaces can also be characterized by the approximation behavior of their elements using Gabor frames. We derive direct and inverse approximation theorems that describe the best approximation by linear combinations of N terms of a given function using its modulates and translates.

This paper aims to apply this framework to linear vector optimizations. Abstract:This paper is devoted to give several characterizations on a more general level for the boundedness of $\tau $-Wigner distributions acting from weighted modulation spaces to weighted modulation and Wiener amalgam spaces. As applications, sharp exponents are obtained for the boundedness of $\tau $-Wigner distributions on modulation spaces with power weights. We also recapture the main theorems of Wigner distribution obtained by Cordero and Nicola [10] and Cordero [6]. As consequences, the characterizations of the boundedness on weighted modulation spaces of several types of pseudodifferential operators are established. In particular, we give the sharp exponents for the boundedness of pseudodifferential operators with symbols in Sjöstrand’s class and the corresponding Wiener amalgam spaces.

Abstract:The mapping from binary sequences to space-time matrices is an important issue in designing space-time coded multiple-antenna systems where different mapping schemes may lead to different bit-error-rate (BER) performance. In this letter, we use a binary switching algorithm to investigate the mappings of bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative demodulation/decoding (BICM-ID) for space-time modulation. Both coherent and noncoherent space-time modulation in the cases of no a priori information and perfect a priori information of the coded bits for the demodulator are considered.

Abstract:We study the mapping properties of metaplectic operators S ˆ ∈ Mp ( 2 d , R ) on modulation spaces of the type M m p , q ( R d ) . Our main result is a full characterization of the pairs ( S ˆ , M p , q ( R d ) ) for which the operator S ˆ : M p , q ( R d ) → M p , q ( R d ) is (i) well-defined, (ii) bounded. It turns out that these two properties are equivalent, and they entail that S ˆ is a Banach space automorphism. Abstract:This paper is devoted to establishing the kernel theorems for $\alpha$-modulation spaces in terms of boundedness and compactness. We characterize the boundedness of a linear operator $A$ from an $\alpha$-modulation space $M^p_{\alpha}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ into another $\alpha$-modulation space $M^q_{\alpha}(\mathbb{R}^d)$, by the membership of its distributional kernel in mixed $\alpha$-modulation spaces. We also characterize the compactness of $A$ by means of the kernel in a certain closed subspace of mixed $\alpha$-modulation spaces. The proofs are based on the viewpoint that the action of the linear operator on certain function space can be reduced to the action on the suitable atoms of this function space.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce matrix weighted Bourgain-Morrey spaces and obtain two sufficient conditions for precompact sets in matrix weighted Bourgain-Morrey spaces. We prove that the dyadic average operator is bounded on some matrix weighted Bourgain-Morrey spaces. With this result, we obtain the necessity for precompact sets in some matrix weighted Bourgain-Morrey spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we give some properties of the modulation spaces $M_s^{p,1}({\mathbf R}^n)$ as commutative Banach algebras. In particular, we show the Wiener-Lévy theorem for $M^{p,1}_s({\mathbf R}^n)$, and clarify the sets of spectral synthesis for $M^{p,1}_s ({\mathbf R}^n)$ by using the ``ideal theory for Segal algebras'' developed in Reiter [30].The inclusion relationship between the modulation space $M^{p,1}_0 ({\mathbf R})$ and the Fourier Segal algebra ${\mathcal F}\hspace{-0.08cm}A_p({\mathbf R})$ is also determined.

Abstract:It is known that the unimodular Fourier multipliers e(it vertical bar Delta vertical bar alpha/2), alpha > 0 are bounded on all modulation spaces M-p,q(s) for 1 <= p,q <= infinity. We extend such boundedness to the case of all 0 < p,q <= infinity and obtain its asymptotic estimate as t goes to infinity. As applications, we give the grow-up rate of the solution for the Cauchy problems for the free Schrodinger equation with the initial data in a modulation space, as well as some mixed norm estimates. We also study the M-p1,q(s) -> M-p2,q(s) boundedness for the operator e(it vertical bar Delta vertical bar alpha/2), for the case 0 < alpha <= 2 and alpha not equal 1. Finally, we investigate the boundedness of the operator e(it vertical bar Delta vertical bar alpha/2) for alpha > 0 and obtain the local well-posedness for the Cauchy problem of some nonlinear partial differential equations with fundamental semigroup e(it vertical bar Delta vertical bar alpha/2).

Abstract:In this paper, we study multivariate approximation defined over weighted anisotropic Sobolev spaces which depend on two sequences ${\bf a}=\{a_j\}_{j\geq1}$ and ${\bf b}=\{b_j\}_{j\geq1}$ of positive numbers. We obtain strong equivalences of the approximation numbers, and necessary and sufficient conditions on ${\bf a}$, ${\bf b}$ to achieve various notions of tractability of the weighted anisotropic Sobolev embeddings.

Abstract:In this paper, we identify the duals of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of generalized smoothness. In some particular cases these function spaces are just weighted Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. To do these, we will be working at the level of sequence spaces. The $\varphi $-transform characterization of these function spaces in the sense of Frazier and Jawerth, and new weighted version of vector-valued maximal inequality of Fefferman and Stein are the main tools.

In this paper, using the almost orthogonality of projections and some techniques on oscillating integrals, we obtain asymptotic estimates for the unimodular Fourier multipliers e(it vertical bar Delta vertical bar alpha/2) on the modulation spaces. As applications, we give the grow-up rates of the solutions for the Cauchy problems for the free Schrodinger equation, the wave equation and the Airy equation with the initial data in a modulation space. We also obtain a quantitative form about the solution to the Cauchy problem of the nonlinear dispersive equations.
