Through a series of calculations, we derive the corrected metric solutions under different forms of $f(R)$ gravity.

Abstract:In this paper, we explore two $f(R,T)$ gravity models and derive black hole solutions within these models. We focus on investigating how the $f(R,T)$ model influences the thermodynamic characteristics of black holes by studying their thermodynamic topology and thermodynamic geometry. We consider five specific values of the thermodynamic parameter $\omega$, which signify five different classes of black hole solutions in general relativity (GR). We observe significant changes in the local topological properties of these black holes compared to GR, depending on the model parameters. Notably, we identify an additional topological class $W=0$ for some values of $\omega$ that is absent in the GR framework. We also study the thermodynamic geometry of the black hole using the Geometrothermodynamics (GTD) formalism. Our analysis demonstrates that the singular point, where the GTD scalar curvature diverges, corresponds exactly to the point where the heat capacity changes sign. Additionally, we constrain the model parameters of both models considered by utilizing black hole shadow data from the Sgr A* black hole, measured by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT).

Abstract:In this article, we explore the RN black hole under f(R) gravity and its thermodynamic properties. We begin by examining the small fluctuations around the equilibrium state and summarizing the expression for the modified thermodynamic entropy of this black hole. Additionally, we delve into the geometric thermodynamics (GTD) of black holes and investigate the suitability of the curvature scalar of the GTD method for the phase transition point of the black hole. Moreover, we investigate the effects of modified parameters on the thermodynamic behavior of black holes.Within the framework of $f(R)$ modified gravity theory, we discovered that several RN black holes demonstrate thermodynamic properties resembling those of an ideal gas when the initial curvature scalar of the black hole remains constant. However, if the initial curvature scalar is non-constant and the cosmological constant term possesses a negative exponent, the Reissner-Nordström (RN) black holes could exhibit characteristics akin to those of a van der Waals gas.We separately list the general solutions for the case of non-negative powers and the special solutions for the case of negative powers. We observe that, under certain conditions, the phase transition analogous to the Van der Waals gas exists for charged black holes under f(R) gravity.

Abstract:This work comprises a study of the thermodynamic behavior of modified $f(\bar{R},\bar{T})$ gravity, which had been developed based on a non-canonical theory known as K-essence theory. In this development, we use the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) type of non-standard Lagrangian. We develop a modified first law and generalized second law of thermodynamics (GSLT) within the modified $f(\bar{R},\bar{T})$ gravity, where we consider the background metric to be the usual Friedmann-Lema$\hat{\text{i}}$tre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) type. A graphical analysis of surface gravity has been performed for the modified FLRW metric via the $f(\bar{R},\bar{T})$ theory, which is different from the usual FLRW gravity through the usual $f(R,T)$ gravity. Exponential and power law scale factors are used to analyze cosmic surface gravity. Through the investigation of the modified GSLT, using the relation of scale factor with the scalar field, we have seen that during the initial phase of the universe, the entropy's rate of change may be either negative or positive, contingent upon the value of the curvature constant. The negativity of the entropy change indicates that the modified GSLT is not feasible in that particular area for a particular curvature constant. These traits suggest that during the inflationary period, entropy might have been either negative or positive. It has also been seen that entropy saturates every curvature value at different time ranges, which indicates the heat death of the universe.

Abstract:This article investigates 3D charged black holes within the scope of f(R) gravity, focusing on their thermodynamic attributes. The research primarily examines minor fluctuations around these black holes' equilibrium states and delves into their modified thermodynamic entropy. Utilizing geometric thermodynamics (GTD), the study evaluates the curvature scalar's role in pinpointing phase transition points in these black holes. A key finding is that several 3D charged black holes under f(R) gravity display thermodynamic properties akin to an ideal gas when their initial curvature scalar remains constant. Conversely, with a non-constant curvature scalar and a cosmological constant term that includes a negative exponent, these black holes exhibit characteristics similar to a van der Waals gas. The article outlines general solutions for scenarios involving non-negative powers and specific solutions for cases with negative powers. Notably, under certain conditions, a phase transition resembling that of a van der Waals gas is observed, suggesting a strong correlation between the black hole's fate and the cosmological constant, extending beyond the parameters proposed by the no-hair theorem.The research provides insights into the swift decline of peaks linked to both large and small black holes, revealing new aspects of black hole transitional behaviors. In a three-dimensional space (for $d=3$) with a variable $k_1$ set to 1, and considering a $\Lambda$ term that adheres to SO(2) symmetry, the study uncovers a cusp catastrophe in the G-T function graph. This observation, within the specified metric, points to a distinct solution that characterizes the ``Phase Transition and Properties of Bose-Einstein Condensation" under specific conditions. Notably, this phase transition in Bose-Einstein condensation occurs due to the symmetry shift from SO(3) to SO(2).

Abstract:This study investigates quantum-corrected black hole solutions derived from f(R) gravity and explores their thermodynamic properties using the canonical ensemble framework. By incorporating higher-order f(R) corrections into classical black hole metrics, we construct regular black hole solutions that eliminate classical singularities. Advanced canonical ensemble techniques, including path integral formulations and stability analyses, are employed to examine the thermodynamic stability, phase transitions, and critical phenomena of these f(R)-corrected black holes. The results indicate that f(R) corrections significantly alter the thermodynamic landscape, introducing novel phase structures and stability conditions. Additionally, numerical simulations are conducted to visualize the behavior of thermodynamic quantities under varying f(R) correction parameters. This work provides deeper insights into the interplay between modified gravity effects and black hole thermodynamics, contributing to the broader understanding of gravitational phenomena in strong gravitational fields.

Abstract:In this paper, we extend Chandrasekhar's method of calculating rotating black holes into f ( R ) theory. We show that the solution with constant Ricci scalar always exists in a general f ( R ) gravity and derive the Kerr and Kerr-Ads metric by using the analytical mathematical method. Suppose that the spacetime is a 4-dimensional Riemannian manifold with a general stationary axisymmetric metric, we calculate Cartan's equation of structure and derive the Einstein tensor. In order to reduce the solving difficulty, we fix the gauge freedom to transform the metric into a more symmetric form. We solve the field equations in the two cases of the Ricci scalar and . In the case of , the Ernst's equations are derived. We give the elementary solution of Ernst's equations and show the way to obtain more solutions including Kerr metric. In the case of , we reasonably assume that the solution to the equations consists of two parts: the first is Kerr part and the second is introduced by the Ricci scalar. Giving solution to the second part and combining the two parts, we obtain the Kerr-Ads metric. The calculations are carried out in a general f ( R ) theory. Furthermore, the whole solving process can be treated as a standard calculation procedure to obtain rotating black holes, which can be applied to other modified gravities.

Abstract:The theory of general relativity is often considered under the framework of modified Einstein gravity to explain different phenomena under strong curvature. The strong curvature effect plays a main role near black holes, where the gravitational field is strongest. The idea of black hole thermodynamics is to describe the strong field curvature properties of a black hole in the effective thermodynamical framework, e.g. entropy, temperature, heat capacity etc. In this paper, our aim is to explore how the effect of modified gravity changes the thermodynamic properties of black hole. We show that even a small modification to Einstein gravity affects the thermodynamical properties of a black hole.

Abstract:The Friedmann equation in the Friedmann–Robertson–Walker (FRW) universe with any spatial curvature is derived from the first law of thermodynamics on the event horizon. The key idea is to redefine a Hawking temperature on the event horizon. Furthermore, we obtain the evolution equations of the universe including the quantum correction and explore the evolution of the universe in f(R) gravity. In addition, we also investigate the generalized second law of thermodynamics in Einstein gravity and f(R) gravity. This perspective also implies that the first law of thermodynamics on the event horizon has a general description in respect of the evolution of the FRW universe.

Abstract:The thermodynamics of black holes (BHs) and their corrections have become a hot topic in the study of gravitational physics, with significant progress made in recent decades. In this paper, we study the thermodynamics and corrections of spherically symmetric BHs in models f(R)=R+αR2 and f(R)=R+2γR+8Λ under the f(R) theory, which includes the electrodynamic field and the cosmological constant. Considering thermal fluctuations around equilibrium states, we find that, for both f(R) models, the corrected entropy is meaningful in the case of a negative cosmological constant (anti-de Sitter–RN spacetime) with Λ=−1. It is shown that when the BHs' horizon radius is small, thermal fluctuations have a more significant effect on the corrected entropy. Using the corrected entropy, we derive expressions for the relevant corrected thermodynamic quantities (such as Helmholtz free energy, internal energy, Gibbs free energy, and specific heat) and calculate the effects of the correction terms. The results indicate that the corrections to Helmholtz free energy and Gibbs free energy, caused by thermal fluctuations, are remarkable for small BHs. In addition, we explore the stability of BHs using specific heat. The study reveals that the corrected BH thermodynamics exhibit locally stable for both models, and corrected systems undergo a Hawking–Page phase transition. Considering the requirement on the non-negative volume of BHs, we also investigate the constraint on the EH radius of BHs.

Abstract:The thermodynamic quantities such as the local temperature, heat capacity, off-shell free energy and the stability of a black hole involving a global monopole within or outside the f(R) gravity are examined. We compare the two classes of results to show the influence from the generalization of the general relativity. It is found that the f(R) theory will modify the thermodynamic properties of black holes, but the shapes of curves for thermodynamic quantities with respect to the horizon are similar to the results within the frame of general relativity. In both cases there will exist a small black hole which will decay and a large stable black hole in the case that the temperatures are higher than their own critical temperature.
Thermodynamics of the Weyl Geometric Gravity Black Holes

Abstract:We consider the thermodynamic properties of an exact black hole solution obtained in Weyl geometric gravity theory, by considering the simplest conformally invariant action, constructed from the square of the Weyl scalar, and the strength of the Weyl vector only. The action is linearized in the Weyl scalar by introducing an auxiliary scalar field, and thus it can be reformulated as a scalar-vector-tensor theory in a Riemann space, in the presence of a nonminimal coupling between the Ricci scalar and the scalar field. In static spherical symmetry, this theory admits an exact black hole solution, which generalizes the standard Schwarzschild-de Sitter solution through the presence of two new terms in the metric, having a linear and a quadratic dependence on the radial coordinate, respectively. The solution is obtained by assuming that the Weyl vector has only a radial component. After studying the locations of the event and cosmological horizons of the Weyl geometric black hole, we investigate in detail the thermodynamical (quantum properties) of this type of black holes, by considering the Hawking temperature, the entropy, specific heat and the Helmholtz free energy functions on both the event and the cosmological horizons. The Weyl geometric black holes have thermodynamic properties that clearly differentiate them from similar solutions of other modified gravity theories. The obtained results may lead to the possibility of a better understanding of the properties of the black holes in alternative gravity, and of the relevance of the thermodynamic aspects in black hole physics.

Abstract:Field equations of a classical, geometric, theory of gravity, augmented with some semiclassical considerations strongly suggest that the gravitational field representing a stationary black hole can be simply described with a few thermodynamical coordinates and their conjugates that obey the four laws of thermodynamics plus the Smarr formula and the reverse isoperimetric inequality that bounds the maximum entropy for a given effective volume of space. The thermodynamics of black holes is a promising window to the quantum nature of black holes; hence, it is important to understand all the details of these laws. The identification and the meaning of these thermodynamic coordinates depend on the gravity theory under consideration. For example, the existence of dimensionful coupling constants, such as the cosmological constant, changes the scaling properties of the theory, its solutions, and the laws of thermodynamics. Here we show, using the background Killing charge method, which applies to the black hole solutions of any gravity theory that has a maximally symmetric vacuum, to define the mass and angular momentum, instead of using the Komar mass and the angular momentum, how the thermodynamics of black holes such as the $D$ dimensional Kerr-AdS black holes in cosmological Einstein's theory and the spherically symmetric black holes in the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory changes. We give the effective volume of black holes even without a cosmological constant.

A new type of $f(\mathcal{T})$ gravity from Barrow entropy

Abstract:In this work, two originally separate adjustments for the Friedmann equations are concurrently considered. Firstly, the fractal structure of the black hole horizon region is imposed by the Barrow entropy. The second adjustment is the $f(\mathcal{T})$ gravity, which is based on a teleparallel framework generalization of the Einstein-Hilbert action, where $\mathcal{T}$ is the scalar torsion. This can be considered as a Barrow entropy modification of the $f(\mathcal{T})$ gravity thus yielding a new model. Gravity thermodynamics hypothesis principles are used to integrate these two models under a unified framework. We derive the modified Friedmann equation and note the corrections obtained. To understand the implications of such dual modifications, an application is analyzed and a particular $f(\mathcal{T})$ toy model is chosen for the purpose. The equation of the state parameter of the resulting model, the dimensionless density parameters of matter and dark energy, and the deceleration parameter are explored to check the viability of the new model. A discussion of the dynamic evolution of the universe follows from these results. It is seen that the results comply with the observations. The newly developed model is promising and demands further study.

Rotating Kiselev Black Holes in $f(R,T)$ Gravity

Abstract:Exact solutions describing rotating black holes can provide significant opportunities for testing modified theories of gravity, which are motivated by the challenges posed by dark energy and dark matter. Starting with a spherical Kiselev black hole as a seed metric, we construct rotating Kiselev black holes within the $f(R,T)$ gravity framework using the revised Newman-Janis algorithm - the $f(R,T)$ gravity-motivated rotating Kiselev black holes (FRKBH), which encompasses, as exceptional cases, Kerr ($K=0$) and Kerr-Newman ($K=Q^2$) black holes. These solutions give rise to distinct classes of black holes surrounded by fluids while considering specific values of the equation-of-state parameter, $w$, for viable choices for the $f(R,T)$ function. From the parameter space or domain of existence of black holes defined by $a$ and $\gamma$ for FKRBH, we discover that when $a_1<a<a_2$, there is a critical value $\gamma=\gamma_E$ which corresponds to extreme value black holes portrayed by degenerate horizons. When $a<a_1$ ($a>a_2$), we encounter two distinct critical values $\gamma=\gamma_{E1}, \; \gamma_{E2}$ with $\gamma_{E1}>\gamma_{E2}$ (or $\gamma=\gamma_{E3},\; \gamma_{E4}$ with $\gamma_{E3}>\gamma_{E4}$. We delve into the horizon and global structure of FKRBH spacetimes and examine their dependence on parameters $w$ and $\gamma$. This exploration is motivated by the remarkable effects of $f(R,T)$ gravity, which gives rise to diverse and intricate spacetime structures within the domain where black holes exist.

We found that radius of shadow will increase with the increase of dark matter effect, and more strong dark matter will diminish the light intensity of accretion disk generally. Moreover, in thermodynamics, when quantum electrodynamic parameter is positive, there will be a critical value of dark matter parameter, which determine the number of black hole's critical points.

Abstract:This paper demonstrates the validity of the first law of horizon thermodynamics for Schwarzschild, RN, Kerr, and Kerr-Newman (KN) black holes within the framework of four-dimensional f(R) gravity coupled with dual scalar fields. Starting from a five-dimensional membrane world scenario, we derive the four-dimensional effective f(R) gravity action and obtain the corresponding black hole solutions. We then verify that these solutions satisfy the first law of black hole thermodynamics by explicitly calculating the variations of thermodynamic quantities. The analysis confirms the robustness of the horizon thermodynamics framework in extended gravitational theories, providing insights into the interplay between higher-dimensional theories and four-dimensional black hole thermodynamics.

Universal black hole solutions for all F(R) gravitational theories

Abstract:Extended gravitational models have gained large attention in the last couple of decades. In this work, we examine the solution space of vacuum, static, and spherically symmetric spacetimes within $F(R)$ theories, introducing novel methods that reduce the vacuum equations to a single second-order equation. For the first time, we derive analytic expressions for the metric functions in terms of the arbitrary functional $F(R)$, providing detailed insight into how the gravitational action impacts the structure of spacetime. We analyze conditions under which solutions are asymptotically flat, regular at the core, and contain an event horizon, obtaining explicit expressions for entropy, temperature, and specific heat in terms of $F(R)$. By using a single metric degree of freedom, we identify the most general solution and examine its (un)physical properties, showing that resolving singularities is not possible within this restricted framework in vacuum. For the general case involving two metric functions, we use several approximation schemes to explore corrections to Schwarzschild-(anti)de Sitter spacetimes, finding that $F(R)$ extensions to General Relativity induce instabilities that are not negligible. Finally, through an analysis of axial perturbations, we derived a general expression for the potential of quasinormal modes of a black hole as a function of the arbitrary Lagrangian.

Abstract:Black holes are the fascinating objects in the universe. They represent extreme deformations in spacetime geometry. Here, we construct f(P) gravity and the first example of static-spherically symmetric black hole solution in f(P) gravity and discuss their thermodynamics. Using the numerical approach and series solution, we discover the solution and demonstrate that it is a generalization of Schwarzschild. The solution is characterized by a single function that satisfies a nonlinear fourth order differential equation. Interestingly, we can analytically calculate the solution s specific heat, Wald entropy, and Hawking temperature as a function of horizon radius. After analyzing the specific heat, we discovered that the black hole is thermodynamically stable over a small horizon radius.
