Abstract:The rise of Web3 social ecosystems signifies the dawn of a new chapter in digital interaction, offering significant prospects for user engagement and financial advancement. Nonetheless, this progress is shadowed by potential privacy concessions, especially as these platforms frequently merge with existing Web2.0 social media accounts, amplifying data privacy risks for users.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the privacy leakage issue in the Web3 social ecosystem. Specifically, the research focuses on how users' behaviors on Web3 social platforms affect their privacy, especially how the data privacy risks are magnified when these platforms are used in combination with traditional Web2.0 social media accounts. The paper explores the impact of user activities (such as creating fake accounts to imitate popularity, deliberately distorting social interactions for economic benefits, etc.) on privacy, and how these behaviors not only distort the true measurement of the active user base but also exacerbate the privacy threats to the entire user community. In addition, the paper also studies that even if users try to limit their social exposure, they may still fall into privacy loopholes. The actions of highly active users, although often a minority group, may also unintentionally violate the privacy of the larger collective. By revealing the subtle relationships among user participation, economic motives, and privacy issues, the paper comprehensively examines the inherent challenges and risks in the Web3 social environment and emphasizes the urgency of implementing stricter privacy measures and ethical protocols to deal with the complex social exchanges and economic goals in this rapidly developing digital environment.
