Abstract:In this paper notions of sensitive sets (S-sets) and regionally proximal sets (Q-sets) are introduced. It is shown that a transitive system is sensitive if and only if there is an S-set with Card(S) >= 2, and for a transitive system each S-set is a Q-set. Moreover, the converse holds when (X, T) is minimal. It turns out that each transitive (X, T) has a maximal almost equicontinuous factor.According to the cardinalities of the S-sets, transitive systems are divided into several classes. Characterizations and examples are given for this classification both in minimal and transitive non-minimal settings. It is proved that for a transitive system any entropy set is an S-set, and consequently, a transitive system which has no uncountable S-sets has zero topological entropy. Moreover, it is shown that a transitive, non-minimal system with dense set of minimal points has an infinite S-set, and there exists a Devaney chaotic system which has no uncountable S-set. Finally, a non-minimal sensitive E-system is constructed such that each of its S-set has cardinality at most 4.

Abstract:To link the Auslander point dynamics property with topological transitivity, in this paper we introduce dynamically compact systems as a new concept of a chaotic dynamical system (X,T) given by a compact metric space X and a continuous surjective self-map T:X → X. Observe that each weakly mixing system is transitive compact, and we show that any transitive compact M-system is weakly mixing. Then we discuss the relationships among it and other several stronger forms of sensitivity. We prove that any transitive compact system is Li-Yorke sensitive and furthermore multi-sensitive if it is not proximal, and that any multi-sensitive system has positive topological sequence entropy. Moreover, we show that multi-sensitivity is equivalent to both thick sensitivity and thickly syndetic sensitivity for M-systems. We also give a quantitative analysis for multi-sensitivity of a dynamical system.

Abstract:For an invariant measure µ in a topological dynamics, notions of µ-sensitivity, µ-complexity and µ-equicontinuity are introduced and investigated. It turns out that µ-sensitivity defined here is equivalent to pairwise sensitivity defined by Cadre and Jacob. For an ergodic µ, µ-equicontinuity, no µ-complexity pair and non-µ-sensitivity are equivalent, which implies minimality and equicontinuity when restricted to the support. Moreover, the notion of µ-sensitive set is introduced, it is shown that a transitive system with an ergodic measure of full support has zero topological entropy if there is no uncountable µ-sensitive set, and a non-minimal transitive system with dense minimal points has infinite sequence entropy for some sequence.

Abstract:The focus of the work is the investigation of chaos and closely related dynamic properties of continuous actions of almost open semigroups and -semigroups. The class of dynamical systems defined by such semigroups is denoted by . These semigroups contain, in particular, cascades, semiflows and groups of homeomorphisms. We extend the Devaney definition of chaos to general dynamical systems. For on locally compact metric spaces with a countable base we prove that topological transitivity and density of the set formed by points having closed orbits imply the sensitivity to initial conditions. We assume neither the compactness of metric space nor the compactness of the above-mentioned closed orbits. In the case when the set of points having compact orbits is dense, our proof proceeds without the assumption of local compactness of the phase space . This statement generalizes the well-known result of J. Banks et al. on Devaney's definition of chaos for cascades.The interrelation of sensitivity, transitivity and the property of minimal sets of semigroups is investigated. Various examples are given.

Abstract:This article is devoted to study which conditions imply that a topological dynamical system is mean sensitive and which do not. Among other things we show that every uniquely ergodic, mixing system with positive entropy is mean sensitive. On the other hand we provide an example of a transitive system which is cofinitely sensitive or Devaney chaotic with positive entropy but fails to be mean sensitive. As applications of our theory and examples, we negatively answer an open question regarding equicontinuity/sensitivity dichotomies raised by Tu, we introduce and present results of locally mean equicontinuous systems and we show that mean sensitivity of the induced hyperspace does not imply that of the phase space.

Abstract:First notions of relative complexity function and relative sensitivity are introduced. It turns out that for any open factor map pi : (X, T) -> (Y, S) between topological dynamical systems with minimal (Y, S), pi is positively equicontinuous if and only if the relative complexity function is bounded for each open cover of X; and that any non-trivial weakly mixing extension is relatively sensitive. Moreover, a relative version of the notable result that any M-system is sensitive if it is not minimal is obtained. Then notions of relative scattering and relative Mycielski's chaos are introduced. A relative disjointness theorem involving relative scattering is given. A relative version of the well-known result that any non-trivial scattering topological dynamical system is Li-Yorke chaotic is proved.

Abstract:A topological dynamical system is n -sensitive, if there is a positive constant such that in each non-empty open subset there are n distinct points whose iterates will be apart from the constant at least for a same moment. The properties of n -sensitivity in minimal systems are investigated. It turns out that a minimal system is n -sensitive if and only if the n -th regionally proximal relation Q n contains a point whose coordinates are pairwise distinct. Moreover, the structure of a minimal system which is n -sensitive but not ( n + 1)-sensitive ( n ⩾ 2) is determined.

Abstract:Let $(X, d)$ be a metric space and $\mathcal{H}(X)$ represent all non-empty, compact subsets of $X$. The expansivity of the multivalued map sequence $\bar{f}_{1, \infty}: \mathcal{H}(X) \to \mathcal{H}(X)$, including expansivity, positive $\aleph_0$-expansivity, were investigated. Also, stronger forms of sensitivities, such as multi-sensitivity and syndetical sensitivity, were explored. This research demonstrated that some chaotic properties can be mutually derived between $(f_{1, \infty}, X)$ and $(\bar{f}_{1, \infty}, \mathcal{H}(X))$, showing fundamental similarities between these systems. Conversely, the inability to derive other properties underlined essential differences between them. These insights are crucial for simplifying theoretical models and enhancing independent research. Lastly, the relationship between expansivity and sensitivity was discussed and the concept of topological conjugacy to the system $ (\bar{f}_{1, \infty}, \mathcal{H}(X)) $ was extended.
Sensitivity, transitivity and chaos in non-autonomous discrete systems

Abstract:In this paper, we study properties of sensitivity, transitivity and chaos for non-autonomous discrete systems(NDS). Firstly, we present some different sufficient conditions for NDS to be chaotic. Then, we relate the transitivity with the sensitivity of NDS and give several sufficient conditions for NDS to be sensitive. We obtain that transitivity and dense periodic points imply sensitivity, and that transitive system is either sensitive or almost equicontinuous. The results improve and extend some existing ones. Besides, we give some examples to show that there is a significant difference between the theory of ADS and the theory of NDS. We get that almost periodic point and minimal point do not imply each other and that two definitions of minimal system are not equivalent for non-autonomous discrete systems. Finally, we introduce and study weakly sensitivity for non-autonomous discrete systems.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with relationships of weakly mixing, topologically weakly mixing, and sensitivity for non-autonomous discrete systems. It is shown that weakly mixing implies topologically weakly mixing and sensitivity for measurable systems with a fully supported measure; and topological weakly mixing implies sensitivity for general dynamical systems. However, the inverse conclusions are not true and some counterexamples are given. The related existing results for autonomous discrete systems are generalized to non-autonomous discrete systems and their conditions are weaken.

Abstract:We recall various notions of size for a topological semigroup T , not necessarily discrete, such as GH -syndetic set, syndetic set, and positive Følner density set. We give new information about these sets and give some examples to study the relation between them. Let , or simply ( T , X ), be any dynamical system on a space X with a topological semigroup T . We say that is a uniformly recurrent point, almost periodic point of von Neumann, or weakly uniformly recurrent point, if the return time set N ( x , U ) is syndetic, GH -syndetic, or , respectively, where U is a neighborhood of the point x and . It is known that there is no relation between the set of uniformly recurrent points and the set of almost periodic points of von Neumann for a semiflow ( T , X ). We give further examples for it. We introduce a notion of f -uniformly recurrent point, where is upper semicontinuous and show that is uniformly recurrent if and only if it is an f -uniformly recurrent point for every upper semicontinuous on the regular space X . In the case of metric space X , is a continuous function. Also, is a uniformly recurrent point if and only if for every thick set A of T . Assume that S is a closed normal non-trivial subsemigroup of T . We prove that every uniformly recurrent point of ( S , X ) is a uniformly recurrent point of ( T , X ). The converse holds if T is a discrete semigroup. Let ( T , X ) be a semiflow on topological space X . Then we show that every two nonempty open sets in X share an orbit of a weakly uniformly recurrent point of ( T , X ) if and only if ( T , X ) is a topologically transitive with a dense set of weakly uniformly recurrent points. Finally, we give topological version of sensitive dependence on the initial condition for semiflow ( T , X ) on topological space X and we show that if the semiflow ( T , X ) is nonminimal and every two non-empty open sets share an orbit of a weakly uniformly recurrent point, then ( T , X ) is syndetic-sensitive.

Abstract:In this paper we study several stronger forms of sensitivity for continuous surjective selfmaps on compact metric spaces and relations between them. The main result of the paper states that a minimal system is either multi-sensitive or an almost one-to-one extension of its maximal equicontinuous factor, which is an analog of the Auslander-Yorke dichotomy theorem. For minimal dynamical systems, we also show that all notions of thick sensitivity, multi-sensitivity and thickly syndetical sensitivity are equivalent, and all of them are much stronger than sensitivity.

Abstract:In this paper, we show that there exists a monoid, on which neither the syndetic property nor the dual syndetic property holds, and there exists a strongly mixing semi-flow with this monoid action which does not have thick sensitivity, syndetic sensitivity, thickly syndetic sensitivity, or thickly periodical sensitivity. Meanwhile, we show that there exists a thickly sensitive cascade which is not multi-sensitive. The first result answers positively Question 2, and the first and the second results answer negatively Question 3 in [A. Miller, A note about various types of sensitivity in general semiflows, Appl. Gen. Topol., 2018].

Abstract:A continuous action of a group G on a compact metric space has sensitive dependence on initial conditions if there is a number e>0 such that for any open set U we can find g in G such that g.U has diameter greater than e. We prove that if a G action preserves a probability measure of full support, then the system is either minimal and equicontinuous, or has sensitive dependence on initial conditions. This generalizes the invertible case of a theorem of Glasner and Weiss. We prove that when a finitely generated, solvable group, acts and certain cyclic subactions have dense sets of minimal points, then the system has sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Additionally, we show how to construct examples of non-compact monothetic groups, and transitive, non-minimal, almost-equicontinuous, recurrent, group actions.

Abstract:Answering an open question affirmatively it is shown that every ergodic invariant measure of a mean equicontinuous (i.e. mean-L-stable) system has discrete spectrum. Dichotomy results related to mean equicontinuity and mean sensitivity are obtained when a dynamical system is transitive or minimal. Localizing the notion of mean equicontinuity, notions of almost mean equicontinuity and almost Banach mean equicontinuity are introduced. It turns out that a system with the former property may have positive entropy and meanwhile a system with the latter property must have zero entropy.

Abstract:This paper introduces the notion of multi-sensitivity with respect to a vector within the context of non-autonomous dynamical systems on uniform spaces and provides insightful results regarding N-sensitivity and strongly multi-sensitivity, along with their behaviors under various conditions. The main results established are as follows: (1) For a k-periodic nonautonomous dynamical system on a Hausdorff uniform space (S,U), the system (S,fk∘⋯∘f1) exhibits N-sensitivity (or strongly multi-sensitivity) if and only if the system (S,f1,∞) displays N-sensitivity (or strongly multi-sensitivity). (2) Consider a finitely generated family of surjective maps on uniform space (S,U). If the system (S,f1,∞) is N-sensitive, then the system (S,fk,∞) is also N-sensitive. When the family f1,∞ is feebly open, the converse statement holds true as well. (3) Within a finitely generated family on uniform space (S,U), N-sensitivity (and strongly multi-sensitivity) persists under iteration. (4) We present a sufficient condition under which an nonautonomous dynamical system on infinite Hausdorff uniform space demonstrates N-sensitivity.

Abstract:Let $\boldsymbol{B}_{[0,\infty)}$ be the semigroup which is defined in the Ahre paper \cite{Ahre=1981}. The semigroup $\boldsymbol{B}_{[0,\infty)}$ with the induced usual topology $\tau_u$ from $\mathbb{R}^2$, with the topology $\tau_L$ which is generated by the natural partial order on $\boldsymbol{B}_{[0,\infty)}$, and the discrete topology are denoted by $\boldsymbol{B}^1_{[0,\infty)}$, $\boldsymbol{B}^2_{[0,\infty)}$, and $\boldsymbol{B}^{\mathfrak{d}}_{[0,\infty)}$, respectively. We show that if $S_1^I$ ($S_2^I$) is a Hausdorff locally compact semitopological semigroup $\boldsymbol{B}^1_{[0,\infty)}$ ($\boldsymbol{B}^2_{[0,\infty)}$) with an adjoined compact ideal $I$ then either $I$ is an open subset of $S_1^I$ ($S_2^I$) or the semigroup $S_1^I$ ($S_2^I$) is compact.
