Abstract:In this paper, we consider solutions to the following fourth order anisotropic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in $\R \times \R^2$, $$ \left\{ \begin{aligned} &\textnormal{i}\partial_t\psi+\partial_{xx} \psi-\partial_{yyyy} \psi +|\psi|^{p-2} \psi=0, \\ &\psi(0)=\psi_0 \in H^{1,2}(\R^2), \end{aligned} \right. $$ where $p>2$. First we prove the local/global well-posedness and blowup of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the anisotropic nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Then we establish the existence, axial symmetry, exponential decay and orbital stability/instability of standing waves to the anisotropic nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The pictures are considerably different from the ones for the isotropic nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The results are easily extendable to the higher dimensional case.

Abstract:In this paper, we will show the existence of partially regular solutions to the initial–boundary value problem for Landau–Lifshitz equations with nonpositive anisotropy constants in three or four space dimensions. The partial regularity is proved up to the boundary both for the Dirichlet problem and for the Neumann problem. In addition, for the Neumann case, a generalized stability condition which ensures the partial regularity is given. For equations with positive or negative anisotropy coefficients, we will give two results of existence and uniqueness for the solutions corresponding to ground states.

A new class of anisotropic double phase problems: exponents depending on solutions and their gradients

Abstract:In this work, we introduce two novel classes of quasilinear elliptic equations, each driven by the double phase operator with variable exponents. The first class features a new double phase equation where exponents depend on the gradient of the solution. We delve into proving various properties of the corresponding Musielak-Orlicz Sobolev spaces, including the $\Delta_2$ property, uniform convexity, density and compact embedding. Additionally, we explore the characteristics of the new double phase operator, such as continuity, strict monotonicity, and the (S$_+$)-property. Employing both variational and nonvariational methods, we establish the existence of solutions for this inaugural class of double phase equations. In the second category, the treatment of exponents is dependent on the solution itself. This class differs from the first one due to the unavailability of suitable Musielak-Orlicz Sobolev spaces. For this reason, we employ a perturbation argument that leads to the classical double phase class. These two new classes highlight how different physical processes like the movement of special fluids through porous materials, phase changes, and fluid dynamics interact with each other. Our results are novel in this context and includes a self-contained techniques.

Large time behavior for solutions to the anisotropic Navier-Stokes equations in a 3D half-space

Abstract:We consider the large time behavior of the solution to the anisotropic Navier--Stokes equations in a $3$D half-space. Investigating the precise anisotropic nature of linearized solutions, we obtain the optimal decay estimates for the nonlinear global solutions in anisotropic Lebesgue norms. In particular, we reveal the enhanced dissipation mechanism for the third component of velocity field. We notice that, in contrast to the whole space case, some difficulties arises on the $L^1(\mathbb{R}^3_+)$-estimates of the solution due to the nonlocal operators appearing in the linear solution formula. To overcome this, we introduce suitable Besov type spaces and employ the Littlewood--Paley analysis on the tangential space.

Abstract:In this work, the (2+1)-dimensional chiral nonlinear Schrödinger equation that describes about quantum field concept in physics and other physical sciences are studied and solved by utilizing the two modern techniques including the polynomial expansion method and the Sardar sub-equation method. We attained different types of soliton solutions that had been applications in different fields of mathematical sciences. The behaviours of attained solutions are periodic, singular and v-shaped soliton solutions. Furthermore, we have investigated the stability of the obtained results. Also, the 3D, 2D, and contour graphics are displayed for the better understanding of the dynamical behaviour of various waves structures extensively. The techniques applied in this article are not used in this model in literature so we say that our findings are new that summarize the novelty of work. The utilize model has applications in physics related phenomenon also obtained results highly valuable in various branches of sciences specially in the transmission of fiber optical.

Low-Regularity Solutions of the Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation on the Spatial Quarter-Plane

Abstract:The Hadamard well-posedness of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with power nonlinearity formulated on the spatial quarter-plane is established in a low-regularity setting with Sobolev initial data and Dirichlet boundary data in appropriate Bourgain-type spaces. As both of the spatial variables are restricted to the half-line, a different approach is needed than the one previously used for the well-posedness of other initial-boundary value problems. In particular, now the solution of the forced linear initial-boundary problem is estimated \textit{directly}, both in Sobolev spaces and in Strichartz-type spaces, i.e. without a linear decomposition that would require estimates for the associated homogeneous and nonhomogeneous initial value problems. In the process of deriving the linear estimates, the function spaces for the boundary data are identified as the intersections of certain modified Bourgain-type spaces that involve spatial half-line Fourier transforms instead of the usual whole-line Fourier transform found in the definition of the standard Bourgain space associated with the one-dimensional initial value problem. The fact that the quarter-plane has a corner at the origin poses an additional challenge, as it requires one to expand the validity of certain Sobolev extension results to the case of a domain with a non-smooth (Lipschitz) and non-compact boundary.

Abstract:We consider the problem of recovering a nonlinear potential function in a nonlinear Schrödinger equation on transversally anisotropic manifolds from the linearized Dirichlet-to-Neumann map at a large wavenumber. By calibrating the complex geometric optics (CGO) solutions according to the wavenumber, we prove the increasing stability of recovering the coefficient of a cubic term as the wavenumber becomes large.

Abstract:Schrödinger's equation and its variants play an important role in describing many well-known problems in disciplines such as mathematics and physics. Our main concern in this paper is to investigate some novel analytical solutions to a third-order generalized nonlinear Schrödinger's equation. This equation is used to model the motion of ultra-short pulses in optical fibers. The model also includes several arbitrary parameters that introduce several well-known nonlinear models as its special case. The main achievements of the paper are determined via two efficient methodologies based upon the modified generalized exponential rational function method and a logarithmic transformation approach. In order to better examine the results, three-dimensional diagrams obtained from analytical answers have been attached to the article. These diagrams are useful tools that facilitate a better description of the capabilities of this model. One of the advantages of the method used in this research over some other techniques is that it is possible to adapt the implemented algorithm to solve other complex new problems.

Abstract:In this paper we present new solutions of the non-linear Schröodinger equation proposed by Nobre, Rego-Monteiro and Tsallis for the free particle, obtained from different Lie symmetry reductions. Analytical expressions for the wave function, the auxiliary field and the probability density are derived using a variety of approaches. Solutions involving elliptic functions, Bessel and modified Bessel functions, as well as the inverse error function are found, amongst others. On the other hand, a closed-form expression for the general solution of the traveling wave ansatz (see Bountis and Nobre) is obtained for any real value of the nonlinearity index. This is achieved through the use of the so-called generalized trigonometric functions as defined by Lindqvist and Drábek, the utility of which in analyzing the equation under study is highlighted throughout the paper.

Abstract:For $n\geq 2$, we establish the smooth effects for the solutions of the linear fourth order Shr\"{o}dinger equation in anisotropic Lebesgue spaces with $\Box_k$-decomposition.
