Abstract:In this paper, we first study the dual fractional parabolic equation \begin{equation*} \partial^\alpha_t u(x,t)+(-\Delta)^s u(x,t) = f(u(x,t))\ \ \mbox{in}\ \ B_1(0)\times\R , \end{equation*} subject to the vanishing exterior condition. We show that for each $t\in\R$, the positive bounded solution $u(\cdot,t)$ must be radially symmetric and strictly decreasing about the origin in the unit ball in $\R^n$. To overcome the challenges caused by the dual non-locality of the operator $\partial^\alpha_t+(-\Delta)^s$, some novel techniques were introduced. Then we establish the Liouville theorem for the homogeneous equation in the whole space \begin{equation*}\label{B} \partial^\alpha_t u(x,t)+(-\Delta)^s u(x,t) = 0\ \ \mbox{in}\ \ \R^n\times\R . \end{equation*} We first prove a maximum principle in unbounded domains for anti-symmetric functions to deduce that $u(x,t)$ must be constant with respect to $x.$ Then it suffices for us to establish the Liouville theorem for the Marchaud fractional equation \begin{equation*} \partial^\alpha_t u(t) = 0\ \ \mbox{in}\ \ \R . \end{equation*} To circumvent the difficulties arising from the nonlocal and one-sided nature of the operator $\partial_t^\alpha$, we bring in some new ideas and simpler approaches. Instead of disturbing the anti-symmetric function, we employ a perturbation technique directly on the solution $u(t)$ itself. This method provides a more concise and intuitive route to establish the Liouville theorem for one-sided operators $\partial_t^\alpha$, including even more general Marchaud time derivatives.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the general dual fractional parabolic problem âˆ‚ t Î± u ( x , t ) + L u ( x , t ) = f ( t , u ( x , t ) ) in R n Ã— R . We show that the bounded entire solution u satisfying certain one-direction asymptotic assumptions must be monotone increasing and one-dimensional symmetric along that direction under an appropriate decreasing condition on f . Our result here actually solves a well-known problem known as Gibbons' conjecture in the setting of the dual fractional parabolic equations. To overcome the difficulties caused by the nonlocal divergence type operator L and the Marchaud time derivative âˆ‚ t Î± , we introduce several new ideas. First, we derive a general weighted average inequality corresponding to the nonlocal operator L , which plays a fundamental bridging role in proving maximum principles in unbounded domains. Then we combine these two essential ingredients to carry out the sliding method to establish the Gibbons' conjecture. It is worth noting that our results are novel even for a special case of L , the fractional Laplacian (âˆ’Î”) s , and the approach developed in this paper will be adapted to a broad range of nonlocal parabolic equations involving more general Marchaud time derivatives and more general non-local elliptic operators.

Under nature structure conditions on f and g , we classify the positive solutions for the semi-linear elliptic system involving the fractional Laplacian by using the direct method of the moving spheres introducing by W. Chen, Y. Li, and R. Zhang ("A direct method of moving spheres on fractional order equations," J. Funct. Anal. , vol. 272, pp. 4131â€“4157, 2017). In the half space, we establish a Liouville type theorem without any assumption of integrability by combining the direct method of moving planes and moving spheres, which improves the result proved by W. Dai, Z. Liu, and G. Lu ("Liouville type theorems for PDE and IE systems involving fractional Laplacian on a half space," Potential Anal. , vol. 46, pp. 569â€“588, 2017).

Abstract:We study the local Hölder regularity of weak solutions to the fully fractional parabolic equations involving spatial fractional diffusion and fractional time derivatives of the Marchaud type. It is worth noting that we do not impose boundedness assumptions on the weak solutions and nonhomogeneous terms. Within the space-time nonlocal framework, it is crucial to consider both space-dependent nonlocal tail terms and the first introduced time-dependent nonlocal tail term. By adapting a nonlocal variant of the parabolic De Giorgi iterative technique, we initially establish a priori local boundedness with tail terms for weak solutions and then prove the local Hölder continuity.

Firstly, we show the local regularity lifting result with the help of the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. Abstract:In this paper, we consider a fractional elliptic system with indefinite nonlinearities. We prove that every positive bounded solution of the system is monotone increasing along x1 direction by using the direct method of moving planes. Based on this monotonicity, we obtain the nonexistence of positive solutions and a Liouville type results for the fractional elliptic system. As an application, we get the Liouville type results for the fractional elliptic system with cubic nonlinearities.

Our investigation begins by establishing a boundary estimate for antisymmetric functions and demonstrating the monotonicity of bounded positive solutions in coercive epigraphs, via the direct method of moving planes. Subsequently, we present a Liouville-type theorem for this nonlocal problem.

We first derive nonexistence of positive solutions, often known as the Liouville type theorem, for the integral and differential equations. Then through an delicate iteration, we show symmetry for positive solutions.

Abstract:We are concerned with the existence of mild solutions to the Cauchy problem for fractional evolution equations of neutral type with almost sectorial operators where 0 < q < 1, the fractional derivative is understood in the Caputo sense, A is an almost sectorial operator on a complex Banach space, and f, h are given functions. With the help of the theory of measure of noncompactness and a fixed point theorem of Darbo type, we establish a new existence theorem of mild solutions for the Cauchy problem above. By the way, the global attractive property of the solutions is also obtained. Moreover, we give two examples to illustrate our abstract results.

Abstract:New classes of evolution differential equations with the Liouville derivative in Banach spaces are studied. Equations are considered on the whole real line and are not endowed by the initial conditions. Using the methods of the Fourier transform theory, we prove the unique solvability in the sense of classical solutions for the equation solved with respect to the Liouville fractional derivative with a bounded operator at the unknown function. This allows us to obtain the analogous result for the equation with a linear degenerate operator at the fractional derivative and with a spectrally bounded pair of operators. results are applied to obtain new results on the unique solvability of systems of ordinary differential equations, boundary problems to partial differential equations, and systems of equations.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with two properties of positive weak solutions of quasilinear elliptic equations with nonlinear gradient terms. First, we show a Liouville-type theorem for positive weak solutions of the equation involving the m -Laplacian operator- increment (m)u = u(q)| backward difference u|(p) in RN,where N 1, m > 1 and p, q ? 0. The technique of Bernstein gradient estimates is utilized to study the case p < m. Moreover, a Liouville-type theorem for supersolutions under subcritical range of exponentsq(N - m) + p(N -1) < N(m -1)is also established. Then, we use a degree argument to obtain the existence of positive weak solutions for a nonlinear Dirichlet problem of the type - increment (m)u = f (x, u, backward difference u), with f satisfying certain structure conditions. Our proof is based on a priori estimates, which will be accomplished by using a blow-up argument together with the Liouville-type theorem in the half-space. As another application, some new Harnack inequalities are proved.

Abstract:This paper deals with the following Cauchy problem to nonlinear time fractional non-autonomous integro-differential evolution equation of mixed type via measure of noncompactness $$ \left\{\begin{array}{ll} ^CD^{\alpha}_tu(t)+A(t)u(t)= f(t,u(t),(Tu)(t), (Su)(t)),\quad t\in [0,a], \\[12pt] u(0)=A^{-1}(0)u_0 \end{array} \right. $$ in infinite-dimensional Banach space $E$, where $ ^CD^{\alpha}_t$ is the standard Caputo's fractional time derivative of order $0<\alpha\leq 1$, $A(t)$ is a family of closed linear operators defined on a dense domain $D(A)$ in Banach space $E$ into $E$ such that $D(A)$ is independent of $t$, $a>0$ is a constant, $f:[0,a]\times E\times E\times E\rightarrow E$ is a Carathéodory type function, $u_0\in E$, $T$ and $S$ are Volterra and Fredholm integral operators, respectively. Combining the theory of fractional calculus and evolution families, the fixed point theorem with respect to convex-power condensing operator and a new estimation technique of the measure of noncompactness, we obtained the existence of mild solutions under the situation that the nonlinear function satisfy some appropriate local growth condition and a noncompactness measure condition. Our results generalize and improve some previous results on this topic, since the condition of uniformly continuity of the nonlinearity is not required, and also the strong restriction on the constants in the condition of noncompactness measure is completely deleted. As samples of applications, we consider the initial value problem to a class of time fractional non-autonomous partial differential equation with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition at the end of this paper.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the following quasilinear elliptic systems-Delta mu=f1(u,v)inRN,-Delta mv=f2(u,v)inRN.Here Delta m is the well-known m-Laplacian operator, m>1. Under appropriate conditions on the functions f1 and f2, we prove some Liouville-type nonexistence theorems. The Liouville-type results can be applied to non-cooperative quasilinear Schrodinger-type systems, and we obtain a priori estimates, singularity and decay estimates for the non-negative solutions of the non-cooperative quasilinear Schrodinger-type systems.

Qualitative Theory of Dynamical Systems

Abstract:We investigate the existence of solutions for a class of fractional evolution equations with nonlocal initial conditions and superlinear growth nonlinear functions in Banach spaces. By using the compactness of semigroup generated by the linear operator, we neither assume any Lipschitz property of the nonlinear term nor the compactness of the nonlocal initial conditions. Moreover, the approximation technique coupled with the Hartmann-type inequality argument allows the treatment of nonlinear terms with superlinear growth. Then combining with the Leray-Schauder continuation principle, we prove the existence results. Finally, the results obtained are applied to fractional parabolic equations with continuous superlinearly growth nonlinearities and nonlocal initial conditions including periodic or antiperiodic conditions, multipoint conditions and integral-type conditions.

Abstract:A fundamental theorem of Liouville asserts that positive entire harmonic functions in Euclidean spaces must be constant. A remarkable Liouville-type theorem of Caffarelli-Gidas-Spruck states that positive entire solutions of $-\Delta u=u^{ {(n+2)}/{(n-2)} }$, $n\ge 3$, are unique modulo Möbius transformations. Far-reaching extensions were established for general fully nonlinear conformally invariant equations through the works of Chang-Gursky-Yang, Li-Li, Li, and Viaclovsky. In this paper, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the validity of such Liouville-type theorems. This leads to necessary and sufficient conditions for local gradient estimates of solutions to hold, assuming a one-sided bound on the solutions, for a wide class of fully nonlinear elliptic equations involving Schouten tensors. A pivotal advancement in proving these Liouville-type theorems is our enhanced understanding of solutions to such equations near isolated singularities. In particular, we utilize earlier results of Caffarelli-Li-Nirenberg on lower- and upper-conical singularities. For general conformally invariant fully nonlinear elliptic equations, we prove that a viscosity super- (sub-)solution can be extended across an isolated singularity if and only if it is a lower- (upper-)conical singularity. We also provide necessary and sufficient conditions for lower- (upper-)conical behavior of a function near isolated singularities in terms of its conformal Hessian. As an application of our Liouville theorems and local gradient estimates, we establish new existence and compactness results for conformal metrics on a closed Riemannian manifold with prescribed symmetric functions of the Schouten (Ricci) tensor, allowing the scalar curvature of the conformal metrics to have varying signs.
