Abstract:In this paper, we first establish asymptotic expansions of the Humbert function $\Psi_1$ for one large variable. The resulting expansions are then used to derive an asymptotic expansion of Saran's hypergeometric function $F_K$ when two of its variables become simultaneously large.

Abstract:Recently, Wald and Henkel (2018) derived the leading-order estimate of the Humbert functions $\Phi_2$, $\Phi_3$ and $\Xi_2$ for two large arguments, but their technique cannot handle the Humbert function $\Psi_1$. In this paper, we establish the leading asymptotic behavior of the Humbert function $\Psi_1$ for two large arguments. Our proof is based on a connection formula of the Gauss hypergeometric function and Nagel's approach (2004). This approach is also applied to deduce asymptotic expansions of the generalized hypergeometric function $_pF_q$ $(p\leqslant q)$ for large parameters, which are not contained in NIST handbook.

Abstract:Recently, Hang and Luo (2024) used an elementary approach to derive the leading asymptotic behavior of the Humbert function $\Psi_1[a,b;c,c';x,y]$ when $x\to\infty$ and $y\to +\infty$. In this paper, we give detailed asymptotic analyses of $\Psi_1$ when $x\to\infty$ and $y\to\infty$. Our proof is based on a uniform estimate of ${}_2F_2[a,b-n;c,d-n;z]$ for $z$ large.

Abstract:Fefferman [22] initiated a program of expressing the asymptotic expansion of the boundary singularity of the Bergman kernel for strictly pseudoconvex domains explicitly in terms of boundary invariants. Hirachi, Komatsu and Nakazawa [30] carried out computations of the first few terms of Fefferman's asymptotic expansion building partly on Graham's work on CR invariants and Nakazawa's work on the asymptotic expansion of the Bergman kernel for strictly pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domains. In this paper, we prove a formula for coefficients in Nakazawa's asymptotic expansion as explicit summations over strongly connected graphs, and a formula expressing partial derivatives of Kahler metrics (resp. functions) as summations over rooted trees encoding covariant derivatives of curvature tensors (resp. functions). These formulae shall be useful in studying general patterns of Fefferman's asymptotic expansion.

Abstract:We introduce a hypergoemetirc series with two complex variables, which generalizes Appell's, Lauricella's and Kempé de Fériet's hypergeometric series, and study the system of differential equations that it satisfies. We determine the singularities, the rank and the condition for the reducibility of the system. We give complete local solutions of the system at many singular points of the system and solve the connection problem among these local solutions. Under some assumptions, the system is written as a KZ equation. We determine its spectral type in the direction of coordinates as well as simultaneous eigenspace decompositions of residue matrices. The system may or may not be rigid in the sense of N.~Katz viewed as an ordinary differential equation in some direction. We also show that the system is a special case of Gel'fand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky system. From this point of view, we discuss multivariate generalizations.

Abstract:Hypergeometric functions of one and many variables play an important role in various branches of modern physics and mathematics. Often we have hypergeometric functions with indices linear dependent on a small parameter with respect to which one needs to perform Laurent expansions. Moreover such expansions are desirable to be expressed in terms of well known functions which can be evaluated with arbitrary precision. To solve this problem we use the differential equation method and the reduction of corresponding differential systems to canonical basis. Specifically we will be interested in the generalized hypergeometric functions of one variable together with Appell and Lauricella functions and their expansions in terms of Goncharov polylogarithms. Particular attention will be given to the case of rational indices of considered hypergeometric functions when the reduction to canonical basis involves nontrivial variable change. The article comes with a Mathematica package Diogenes, which provides algorithmic implementation of the required steps.

Abstract:When studying the properties of the hypergeometric functions in two variables, expansion formulas are very important, allowing one to represent a function of two variables in the form of an infinite sum of products of several hypergeometric Gaussian functions, and this in turn facilitates the process of studying the properties of functions in two variables. Burchnall and Chaundy, in 1940--41, using the symbolic method, obtained more than 15 pairs of expansions for the second-order double hypergeometric Appell and Humbert functions. In order to find expansion formulas for functions depending on three or more variables, Hasanov and Srivastava introduced symbolic operators, with the help of which they were able to expand a whole class of hypergeometric functions of several variables. Hasanov, Turaev and Choi defined so-called H-operators that make it possible to find expansions for generalized hypergeometric functions of one variable. In addition, applications of these H-operators to the expansion of the hypergeometric functions of two and three variables of second order are known. On the other hand, thanks to the Kampe de Feriet functions, solutions of the boundary value problems for some degenerate and singular partial differential equations can be written in explicit forms. In this paper, expansion formulae are obtained for the hypergeometric Kampe de Feriet functions of the superior order. Some Kampe de Feriet functions are expanded in terms of the Appell and Humbert functions as illustrative examples

Abstract:We study the asymptotics of the Poisson kernel and Green's functions of the fractional conformal Laplacian for conformal infinities of asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds. We derive sharp expansions of the Poisson kernel and Green's functions of the conformal Laplacian near their singularities. Our expansions of the Green's functions answer the first part of the conjecture of Kim-Musso-Wei[ 21 ] in the case of locally flat conformal infinities of Poincare-Einstein manifolds and together with the Poisson kernel asymptotic is used also in our paper [ 25 ] to show solvability of the fractional Yamabe problem in that case. Our asymptotics of the Green's functions on the general case of conformal infinities of asymptotically hyperbolic space is used also in [ 29 ] to show solvability of the fractional Yamabe problem for conformal infinities of dimension \begin{document}$ 3 $\end{document} and fractional parameter in \begin{document}$ (\frac{1}{2}, 1) $\end{document} corresponding to a global case left by previous works.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the representation and extension of the analytic functions of three variables by special families of functions, namely branched continued fractions. In particular, we establish new symmetric domains of the analytical continuation of Lauricella–Saran's hypergeometric function FK with certain conditions on real and complex parameters using their branched continued fraction representations. We use a technique that extends the convergence, which is already known for a small domain, to a larger domain to obtain domains of convergence of branched continued fractions and the PC method to prove that they are also domains of analytical continuation. In addition, we discuss some applicable special cases and vital remarks.

Abstract:We prove asymptotics and study sign patterns for coefficients in expansions of elements in the Habiro ring which satisfy a strange identity. As an application, we prove asymptotics and discuss positivity for the generalized Fishburn numbers which arise from the Kontsevich-Zagier series associated to the colored Jones polynomial for a family of torus knots. This extends Zagier's result on asymptotics for the Fishburn numbers.

Abstract:Some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Cohen-Ramanujan expansions for arithmetical functions were provided by these authors in [\textit{arXive preprint arXive:<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2205.08466" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2205.08466">2205.08466</a>}, 2022]. Given two arithmetical functions $f$ and $g$ with absolutely convergent Cohen-Ramanujan expansions, we derive an asymptotic formula for $\sum_{n\leq N}f(n)g(n+h)$ where $h$ is a fixed positive integer. We also provide Cohen-Ramanujan expansions for certain functions to illustrate some of the results we prove consequently.

Abstract:The asymptotic expansion of the Kummer function ${}_1F_1(a; b; z)$ is examined as $z\to+\infty$ on the Stokes line $\arg\,z=0$. The correct form of the subdominant algebraic contribution is obtained for non-integer $a$. Numerical results demonstrating the accuracy of the expansion are given.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate a determinantal point process on the interval $(-s,s)$, associated with the confluent hypergeometric kernel. Let $\mathcal{K}^{(\alpha,\beta)}_s$ denote the trace class integral operator acting on $L^2(-s, s)$ with the confluent hypergeometric kernel. Our focus is on deriving the asymptotics of the Fredholm determinant $\det(I-\gamma \mathcal{K}^{(\alpha,\beta)}_s)$ as $s \to +\infty$, while simultaneously $\gamma \to 1^-$ in a super-exponential region. In this regime of double scaling limit, our asymptotic result also gives us asymptotics of the eigenvalues $\lambda^{(\alpha, \beta)}_k(s)$ of the integral operator $\mathcal{K}^{(\alpha,\beta)}_s$ as $s \to +\infty$. Based on the integrable structure of the confluent hypergeometric kernel, we derive our asymptotic results by applying the Deift-Zhou nonlinear steepest descent method to analyze the related Riemann-Hilbert problem.

Using only the first $n+1$ terms of this series, we define the remainder \[\mathcal{R}_n = \frac{p}{\pi} - \sum_{k=0}^n u_k=\sum_{k=n+1}^\infty u_k.\] We consider an asymptotic expansion of $\mathcal{R}_n$. More precisely, we provide a recursive relation for determining the coefficients $c_j$ such that \[ \mathcal{R}_n = \frac{\left(\frac{1}{2}\right)_n \left(q\right)_n \left(1-q\right)_n}{n!^3}nt^n\left(\sum_{j=0}^{J-1}\frac{c_j}{n^j}+\mathcal{O}\left(n^{-J}\right)\right),\qquad n \rightarrow \infty.\] Here we need $J<\infty$ to approximate $\mathcal{R}_n$, because (like the Stirling series) this series diverges if $J\rightarrow\infty$. By applying our recursive relation to the Chudnovsky formula, we solve an open problem posed by Han and Chen.

Abstract:We present several new asymptotic expansions of the logarithm of the Barnes G-function in terms of the gamma function and the polygamma functions. We also give several explicit formulas and recurrence relations for determining the coefficients in these asymptotic expansions. By using the results obtained, we derive recursion formulas for the Bernoulli numbers and the corresponding results for the Riemann zeta function. Finally, based on the asymptotic expansions which we have presented here, we prove new complete monotonicity properties of some functions involving the Barnes G-function, the gamma function and the polygamma functions.

Abstract:In a prior paper we found that the Fourier-Legendre series of a Bessel function of the first kind J_{N}\left(kx\right) and of a modified Bessel functions of the first kind I_{N}\left(kx\right) lead to an infinite set of series involving \,_{1}F_{2} hypergeometric functions (extracted therefrom) that could be summed, having values that are inverse powers of the eight primes 1/\left(2^{i}3^{j}5^{k}7^{l}11^{m}13^{n}17^{o}19^{p}\right) multiplying powers of the coefficient k, for the first 22 terms in each series. The present paper shows how to generate additional, doubly infinite summed series involving \,_{1}F_{2} hypergeometric functions from Chebyshev polynomial expansions of Bessel functions, and trebly infinite sets of summed series involving \,_{1}F_{2} hypergeometric functions from Gegenbauer polynomial expansions of Bessel functions.

Abstract:We study the asymptotic properties of monic orthogonal polynomials (OPs) with respect to some Freud weights when the degree of the polynomial tends to infinity, including the asymptotics of the recurrence coefficients, the nontrivial leading coefficients of the monic OPs, the associated Hankel determinants and the squares of $L^2$-norm of the monic OPs. These results are derived from the combination of the ladder operator approach, Dyson's Coulomb fluid approach and some recent results in the literature.

Abstract:We calculate the large quantum level asymptotic expansion of the RT-invariants associated to SU(2) of all oriented Seifert 3-manifolds X with orientable base or non-orientable base with even genus. Moreover, we identify the Chern-Simons invariants of flat SU(2)-connections on X in the asymptotic formula thereby proving the so-called asymptotic expansion conjecture (AEC) due to J. E. Andersen for these manifolds. For the case of Seifert manifolds with base $S^2$ we actually prove a little weaker result, namely that the asymptotic formula has a form as predicted by the AEC but contains some extra terms which should be zero according to the AEC. We prove that these `extra' terms are indeed zero if the number of exceptional fibers n is less than 4 and conjecture that this is also the case if n is greater than 3. For the case of Seifert fibered rational homology spheres we identify the Casson-Walker invariant in the asymptotic formula. Our calculations demonstrate a general method for calculating the large r asymptotics of a finite sum $\Sigma_{k=1}^{r} f(k)$, where f is a meromorphic function depending on the integer parameter r and satisfying certain symmetries. Basically the method, which is due to L. Rozansky, is based on a limiting version of the Poisson summation formula together with an application of the steepest descent method from asymptotic analysis.
