Abstract:Mixed spin-(1/2,1/2,1) trimer with two different Landé g-factors and two different exchange couplings is considered. The main feature of the model is non-conserving magnetization. The Hamiltonian of the system is diagonalized analytically. We presented a detailed analysis of the ground state properties, revealing several possible ground state phase diagrams and magnetization profiles. The main focus is on how non-conserving magnetization affects quantum entanglement. We have found that non-conserving magnetization can bring to the continuous dependence of the entanglement quantifying parameter (negativity) on magnetic field within the same eigenstate, while for the case of uniform $g$-factors it is a constant. The main result is an essential enhancement of the entanglement in case of uniform couplings for one pair of spins caused by an arbitrary small difference in the values of $g$-factors. This enhancement is robust and brings to almost 7-fold increasing of the negativity. We have also found weakening of entanglement for other cases. Thus, non-conserving magnetization offers a broad opportunity to manipulate the entanglement by means of magnetic field.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is how non - conserved magnetization affects quantum entanglement in a mixed - spin trimer system, especially in the presence of inhomogeneous g - factors. Specifically, the researchers focused on: 1. **The influence of non - conserved magnetization on quantum entanglement**: The paper explored how the magnetization properties of the system affect quantum entanglement under different exchange couplings and inhomogeneous g - factors. In particular, they analyzed whether non - conserved magnetization would cause quantum entanglement parameters (such as negativity) to change with the magnetic field. 2. **Enhancement and attenuation of negativity**: The researchers found that in some cases, even a small difference between g - factors can significantly enhance quantum entanglement. For example, in the case of uniform coupling, a small difference in g - factors can lead to an almost seven - fold increase in negativity. In other cases, quantum entanglement will be weakened. 3. **Characteristics of the magnetization curve**: The paper also analyzed in detail the zero - temperature magnetization curve of the system, especially how non - conserved magnetization changes the shape of these curves. Normally, the zero - temperature magnetization curve is characterized by a series of plateaus and jumps, but in the case of non - conserved magnetization, the magnetization values within certain energy levels can depend continuously on the magnetic field. ### Main findings - **The influence of non - conserved magnetization**: Non - conserved magnetization causes the negativity parameter to change continuously with the magnetic field within the same eigenstate, while in the case of uniform g - factors, the negativity is a constant. - **Enhancement of negativity**: For a pair of uniformly coupled spins, a small difference in g - factors can significantly enhance quantum entanglement, with the negativity increasing nearly seven - fold. - **Continuity of the magnetization curve**: Non - conserved magnetization makes the low - temperature magnetization curve exhibit characteristics similar to those of a real many - body model, that is, the magnetization value can change continuously within certain energy levels. ### Research methods - **Model construction**: A mixed - spin trimer containing two spin - 1/2 and one spin - 1 was considered, with two different exchange couplings and two different but isotropic g - factors. - **Diagonalization of the Hamiltonian**: The Hamiltonian of the system was diagonalized by an analytical method to obtain the eigenvalues and eigenstates of the system. - **Calculation of negativity**: Negativity was used as a measure of quantum entanglement to calculate the change in negativity under different magnetic fields and draw the corresponding graphs. ### Conclusion This study reveals the important influence of non - conserved magnetization on quantum entanglement. Especially in the presence of inhomogeneous g - factors, quantum entanglement can be effectively manipulated by an external magnetic field. This finding provides a new perspective for the applications of molecular magnets and quantum information technology.
