Abstract:In this paper, we consider a discrete version of iterated integrals by the naive (equally divided) Riemann sum. In particular, basic three formulas for usual iterated integrals are discritized. Moreover, we proved cyclic sum formulas for discrete iterated integrals. They imply the cyclic sum formula for multiple polylogarithms.

Abstract:where / ( / ) is a differentiate function defined on the real number interval [a, b), and x may be a real or complex number with x*0 and x*l. Obviously, the case for x = l of (1.1) could be generally treated by means of the well-known Euler-Maclaurin summation formula. The object of this paper is to find a general summation formula for (1.1) that could be applied readily to some interesting special cases, e.g., those with f{i)-t (2 ei?), / ( / ) = logf (V>1), and f(t) = q (0<q<l)9 respectively. Related results will be presented in Sections 3-5. Recall that for the particular case f(t) = t and [a, b) = [0, oo) with/? being a positive integer, we have the classical result (cf. [1], [2], [4])

Abstract:We derive some Hodge integral identities by taking various limits of the Mariño-Vafa formula using the cut-and-join equation. These identities include the formula of generalλg\lambda _g-integrals, the formula ofλg−1\lambda _{g-1}-integrals onM¯g,1{\overline {\mathcal {M}}}_{g,1}, the formula of cubicλ\lambdaintegrals onM¯g{\overline {\mathcal {M}}}_g, and the ELSV formula relating Hurwitz numbers and Hodge integrals. In particular, our proof of the MV formula by the cut-and-join equation leads to a new and simple proof of theλg\lambda _gconjecture. We also present a proof of the ELSV formula completely parallel to our proof of the Mariño-Vafa formula.

Abstract:Recently, Maesaka, Watanabe, and the third author discovered a phenomenon where the iterated integral expressions of multiple zeta values become discretized. In this paper, we extend their result to the case of multiple polylogarithms and provide two proofs. The first proof uses the method of connected sums, while the second employs induction based on the difference equations that discrete multiple polylogarithms satisfy. We also investigate several applications of our main result.

Abstract:Repeated integration is a major topic of integral calculus. In this article, we study repeated integration. In particular, we study repeated integrals and recurrent integrals. For each of these integrals, we develop reduction formulae for both the definite as well as indefinite form. These reduction formulae express these repetitive integrals in terms of single integrals. We also derive a generalization of the fundamental theorem of calculus that expresses a definite integral in terms of an indefinite integral for repeated and recurrent integrals. From the recurrent integral formulae, we derive some partition identities. Then we provide an explicit formula for the $n$-th integral of $x^m(\ln x)^{m'}$ in terms of a shifted multiple harmonic star sum. Additionally, we use this integral to derive new expressions for the harmonic sum and repeated harmonic sum.

Abstract:Abstract We introduce the multivariable connected sum which is a generalization of Seki–Yamamoto’s connected sum and prove the fundamental identity for these sums by series manipulation. This identity yields explicit procedures for evaluating multivariable connected sums and for giving relations among special values of multiple polylogarithms. In particular, our class of relations contains Ohno’s relations for multiple polylogarithms.

Abstract:We prove sum formulas for double polylogarithms of Hurwitz type, that is, involving a shifting parameter $b$ in the denominator. These formulas especially imply well-known sum formulas for double zeta values, and sum formulas for double $L$-values. Further, differentiating in $b$, we obtain a kind of weighted sum formula for double polylogarithms and double $L$-values. We also give sum formulas for partial double zeta values with some congruence conditions. Our proofs of those sum formulas are based on certain functional relations for double polylogarithms of Hurwitz type.

Abstract:In this paper, we present five different formulas for both discrete and fractional iterations of an invertible power series $f$ utilizing a novel and unifying approach from umbral calculus. Established formulas are extended, and their proofs simplified, while new formulas are introduced. In particular, through the use of $q$-calculus identities, we eliminate the requirement for $f'(0)$ to equal $1$ and, consequently, the corresponding new expressions for the iterative logarithm are derived.

Abstract:We give a weighted sum formula for the double polylogarithm in two variables, from which we can recover the classical weighted sum formulas for double zeta values, double $T$-values, and some double $L$-values. Also presented is a connection-type formula for a two-variable multiple polylogarithm, which specializes to previously known single-variable formulas. This identity can also be regarded as a generalization of the renowned five-term relation for the dilogarithm.

Abstract:In this paper, we give evaluations of integrals involving the arctan and the logarithm functions, and present several new summation identities for odd harmonic numbers and Milgram constants. These summation identities can be expressed as finite sums of special constants such as $\pi$, the Catalan constant, the values of Riemann zeta function at the positive odd numbers and $\ln2$ etc.. Some examples are detailed to illustrate the theorems.

On Iterated Integral on Simplicial Sets

Abstract:A simplicial analogy of Chen's iterated integral was introduced in another paper. However, its properties were hardly investigated in the paper. In particular, no mention is made of whether it coincides with Chen's iterated integral as a special case. In this paper, we answer this question. This paper consists of two main parts. One of them is the research of elementary properties of simplicial iterated integral. In particular, we describe a relationship between iterated integral and homotopy pullback. The other one is a comparison of Chen's iterated integral and simplicial iterated integral. At the end of this paper, we observe Chen's theorem and Hain's theorem which connects rational homotopy groups and (co)homologies of a smooth manifold, and give an infinity-categorical viewpoint.

Abstract:In this short, we study sums of the shape $\sum_{n\leqslant x}{f([x/n])}/{[x/n]},$ where $f$ is Euler totient function $\varphi$, Dedekind function $\Psi$, sum-of-divisors function $\sigma$ or the alternating sum-of-divisors function $\beta.$ We improve previous results when $f=\varphi$ and derive new estimates when $f=\Psi, f=\sigma$ and $f=\beta.$

Abstract:Recently, Maesaka, Seki and Watanabe discovered a surprising equality between multiple harmonic sums and certain Riemann sums which approximate the iterated integral expression of the multiple zeta values. In this paper, we describe the formula corresponding to the multiple zeta-star values and, more generally, to the Schur multiple zeta values of diagonally constant indices. We also discuss the relationship of these formulas with Hoffman's duality identity and an identity due to Kawashima.

A Simple Continuation for Partial Sums

Abstract:In 2014, Ibrahim M Alabdulmohsin wrote a paper called "Summability Calculus" where he developed a method to generalize sigma notation to non-integer upper bounds. His paper included a theorem, known as Theorem 6.1.1 (denoted here as Lemma 2.1 because of its simplicity and location in this paper), but doesn't study it much. Another paper by Mueller and Schleicher also analyzed this formula, but doesn't integrate or differentiate the formula and states some specific applications. This paper will analyze the simple formula that generalizes sigma notation to non-integer upper and lower bounds. We state and prove this formula in Section 2. Section 3 states a few algebraic properties for the sum and product formulae and shows how differentiation of sums and products works. Because integrating a product is challenging, we only analyze the integration of sums in the fourth part of Section 3. In Section 4 we apply the formula in the second section to create analytic continuations for functions defined as partial sums, formulate an infinite series representation to any limit, create a great approximation for functions that approach a certain limit, make an analytic continuation for products, and calculate the sum of anti-derivatives. We then conclude with a discussion of the material of this paper.
